"Missing Mate" is the third book in the O'Neil Pack series.
Jessica Salone had a one night stand that resulted in twins.
Years later, a hereditary issue arises. The only way to help her son is to get in touch with his father, who doesn’t even know the twins exist. Facing her regrets head on, she takes her twins to the resort where it all started.
Will Alexander reject them? Will Jessica find the answers she needs? Or will she be thrown into a world of the unknown.
Alexander Jamison is trying to find information as to why unknown shifters have been in the area. When he hears that a woman called asking questions, he is suspicious. Is something in his past catching up to him? Could the timing be a coincidence, or is there something more sinister going on?
Jessica Salone had a one-night stand whilst on holiday with friends, one night she’s never forgotten as it resulted in her having twins! She never contacted the father but now, with the twins three years old, Jessica realises she really needs to contact him urgently. Why? Well, one of the twins is ill and the other keeps shifting into a wolf cub - definitely time to check in with their Dad! Going back to see their father is a big risk as she has no idea how he’ll react to the news he is a father or how he’ll explain what is happening to the children but it is a risk she has to take!
What a great idea for a story! This is an enjoyable read with a variety of great characters and interesting plot. The writing doesn’t always flow smoothly but the story is engaging and is an intriguingly different paranormal romance - a great addition to the series!
I requested and was given a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion after choosing to read it.
When a one night stand ends up with Jessica pregnant with twins and the father oblivious it could have been worse. Now, it just got worse as the babies are now three years old and they turn into wolf puppies! Jessica never knew shifters existed but has now become a believer. She needs help. She has to go back to the resort and find the twins dad, explain why she didn’t tell him sooner and find out what she needs to know about raising shifters. One of the things I like best about finding new authors is watching them improve with each book. This is Roxanne Witherells’ fourth book and each gets successively better. The writing is a little stiff in this book but the story is so exciting you don’t really mind. I think that this author is well worth growing with. I should mention I drooled a little bit on this cover. For a different type of tale you need to read Missing Mate
I really liked the actual story here, but I have to say it felt like it had been written by a teenager. I struggled getting through and actually had to correct the writing to myself as I went just to make it to the end. I probably wouldn't have even left a review has this been a free read but I wish someone had warned me about the writing and I would not feel the way I do about paying for this. This author has a good story going on here but definitely needs a good proof reader and maybe an arc team. Also just wanted to say that Alaska IS part of the United States.
I always like trying books from New authors, well at least new to me and this one didn't disappoint me in this book. The first couple of chapters were a little bit rocky, but then she seem to hit a nice rhythm and it seemed to flow.
I loved how the relationship of the couple was not rushed and they had time to build their feelings. I love the interaction with the children. You don't see authors often the have twins seem to connected and they did a good job.
I would have loved to see a little more character development, but the story came together and made you fall in love with the characters.
Alexander works at a resort and there he met Jessica. Their one night leads to more than she expected. Three years later she needs Alexander’s help will he help ? You’ll need to read and find out. There is lots that happens and you’ll not want to miss reading this book. This is a great series. If you like wolfs ,you’ll love this series
Good story with a good premise. The negatives were that the storytelling rang awkward, tenses were inconsistent and the story sometimes lost track of point of view.
An enjoyable read. I liked the premise and the storyline, and the variety of characters. The final execution didn't flow as well as it could have but it was a good read about the paranormal world of shifters.
