Ashley Hunt gained her Philosophy degree in Denver, Colorado at The University of Colorado.
She made Denver her permanent home when she married her college sweetheart. Married six years the couple has a five-year-old daughter and a yellow Labrador named Oodles.
Living in the shadow of Gray's Peak proves to be inspirational to Ashley as she sits at her desk in her home office where she writes her Romance stories and can merely look out the window to renew her creativity.
She strives to make stories with beautiful scenery and intriguing plots. Heroes with great strengths, physical and mental, she pairs with strong heroines who test their limits. In the end, finding deep, passionate love. The way she thinks every relationship should be.
This is one of those books whose covers is a standard eight-pack but oh so hot. I volunteered to read the ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review through instafreebies.
Good things: I loved the concept. I mean holy wow, that is so creative! I've never heard/read something like that. I don't know if its a common theme but the flipping because emotions was such an amazing process to witness. Not-so-good-things: There were some inconsistencies in the plot.
1. My favourite scene: I think I found Christian sitting on the grass really hilarious. That whole scene was classic! 2. Favourite character: None, they were all flawed in their own ways. 3. Ending: It had a nice ending albiet a bit stunning and open ended because I'm no sure which planet they opened their eyes on. 4. Backstory of character: Leona was amazing. I wanna know her story. I even genuinely found the Grimm to be an interesting person. So, maybe is backstory too. 5. Excited for more: Not really. I think the story has ended at a good place and I'm happy with it. 6. Couldn't stop reading scene: The war scenes - loved them! 7. Content warnings: Standard warnings, no epic kink here mostly sweet loving (I may or may not have skimped the lemons.)
This book gets a 3.5 rating from me. It was nice enough, I quite liked it.
Ive seen a negative review on this book and I was pleasantly suprized by this book. You think in the begining it will be some silly book about a girl and the carnies that come into her town. But boy oh boy is that wrong, there is so much more this world that the author Ashley L. Hunt created.
Candice comes back to her hometown after her parents are killed in a driving accident. She become a waitress and is very content in her life until the carnival of lost souls comes to town and changes everything for her.
Luke aka Arias a half breed of human and alien comes into Candice's life unexpectedly.Hes a stong warrior and fighter on his planet. He was banished and Candice takes him back where he belongs tho she fears for his life and causes havoc on whats forming between them because of her fear.
I look forward to reading more in this series and from this author. She creates and amazing scifi world.
Luke is an alien who has been cursed to switch location between Earth and his planet when he feels extreme emotion. Candice is a human who meets him and they start a relationship suffering the switches between places and the effect on their relationship.
This is a strange story and it's a little hard to get your head around where the characters are and the effect on their lives of this curse. At first I felt sorry for them but after a while I just became annoyed with Candice. Well written and a nice concept but I found it a bit strange.
Please note this is only available on Instafreebie when you sign up for the author's mailing list.
A little too complicated for me with the instant transporting back and forth between galaxies. I guess my imagination doesn't stretch that far! Periodic separations are ok, but the 10 year no contact, was beyond believable for me! The writing was good, with enough romance and action. I would recommend the book since I enjoyed the story and completed! I've also enjoyed Ms. Hunt's stories before. She's a talented writer!
I really enjoyed Luke. It was my first by this author and I will be reading many more. I loved the way that Luke's curse was connected to his emotions! The description of the other world and its people was pretty good, I would love to read the back story of the characters a bit more as they sounded like it would be very interesting to see what lead them to where they are now.
Wow this book is so so out of this world. Gripped me from the start and if you know the saying love conquers all this book gives it its true meaning. I felt the sadness when they disappear on each other the thrills when they are together and the turmoil in fighting a war to end the curse. This book is a must read, Ashley is a superb author.
An interesting twist on star-crossed lovers. Luke's curse is tied to his emotions about Candice. Hers becomes tied to his. I found the switching of perspective a little off-putting, but not much. I was a little disappointed in her in the latter part of the book.
I liked this book but the going back and forth from pleasure was a little silly. Other than that I like the story and characters . So I'm giving this a 3 1/2 stars
