Three friends walk into a bar . . . One walks out the fake girlfriend of a hot, bearded Scotsman.

Fannin McGuire is up for promotion at Nolan and Krane Enterprises, but first she has to make it through her stepsister’s wedding. To Fannin’s ex. Yep. Her ex-fiancé is about to be her new brother-in-law. One big happy family. And lucky her, she also gets to work with him.
While Fannin is putting all of her energy into her career, her ex is putting all of his energy into making her life hell. Just when Fannin is sure she’ll be attending the wedding without a plus one, in walks Jasper James to save the day. He’s the bartender at the Iron Flask, the account she’s trying to land, and everything she didn’t know she needed or wanted. Before Fannin knows what’s happening, Jasper is playing knight in shining armor and she likes it. And him. A lot. With his smooth Scottish accent, ridiculously good looks, and that beard? She doesn’t stand a chance.
Jasper isn’t in the habit of rescuing anyone. But when Fannin is confronted by her ex about her lack of a date for his upcoming nuptials, Jasper can’t help but step in. Her wild hair, violet eyes, and killer legs have him doing a few things he normally wouldn’t. Never mind that he shouldn’t be getting involved with the woman in charge of making the bar a global success.
Their fake relationship becomes more real than either thought it would. Now they’re at the mercy of their feelings when truths are twisted, and the lies don’t taste as smooth as the whisky

4 stars!

Imperfect Love Kindle World Novella Reviews at Of Pens and Pages.

Another novella I want to see as a full-length novel! I’m being a selfish b*tch here because I want to read more about Jasper and Fannin!

Here’s to the boys who broke our hearts and to the men that picked up the pieces.”

I loved all of the characters in this book except Fannin’s ex and b*tch of a step-sister. They’re both d*cks. I loved it when Jasper and Fannin put them in their place. It’s easy to see Fannin as the better woman with the way she and her step-sister act. She’s strong, independent, and hard-working. She definitely didn’t deserve a loser like Jasper. You show ’em, girl!

I’m a puddle of mush for the sexy Scotsman, Jasper. That accent. That beard. That dirty mouth. I’m dead. I’m dead.

Twisted is a quick and fun read with cute dates, sexy times, and a little drama on the side that will make you crave whiskey and a man in a kilt.

Funny and sexy.
Almost perfect handbook for females "How to treat your cheating ex" and for males "How to treat your woman right".
If not  for some clichés and his holding back about his actual identity, I would have clicked 5 stars.

I immediately checked other books by this author. Unfortunately they all have my biggest triggers - cheating or/and sex with OP. Bummer 😣

Nice little surprise

I bought this book on a whim, having no idea what to expect. While that is totally unlike me lately, I dodged a bullet and it turned out well.

Jasper was a smooth talking Irishman. He stepped in to help Fannin when she needed him most. He was sexy, funny and so dang good to Fannin. He had secrets that he kept, lies of omission if you will, that came back to bite him in the ass. He didn't come across as a manwhore, no other women made appearances. Once he met Fannin, she was it for him.

Fannin was a really good heroine. She had been through the ringer when she caught her fiance having sex with her step sister. To add insult to injury, the ex worked with her still so she had to see him and his new fiancée's smug faces. She handled it well, even when the ex would flaunt it in her face. One particular instance was in the presence of Jasper - and that is how they began.

-no cheating
-om drama - her ex was in the story but he was a real jerk and it was fun to watch her and Jasper swipe at him
-ow drama- none - Jasper had an ex that wanted more but he didn't. He had to leave his home to get away from her scheming. She made no appearances in the story.
-short period of pushing away
-some steamy sex scenes
-neither were virgins
-no epilogue whatsoever - HFN ending and I was tremendously disappointed

This is how a novella is done!

I. Loved. Jasper.
And I loved Fannin too, but let's be real - it's about this smoldering Scottsman! *dies*

The best part (besides all things Jasper!) is that I felt like I received a whole, fulfilling tale. That's what I don't love about most novellas - I'm left wanting more in a not-so-good kind of way. Not with Twisted. I hit the final page with a smile on my face, a giddiness in my heart, and a contented sigh.

Although I've read and loved all of Mandi's work, this one just might be my favorite!

Dear God what was in that whiskey?

Loved. Loved. Loved.

A fake relationship between perfect strangers turns into so much more. Whiskey, a crappy ex, a wedding, a hot Scotsman with an amazing beard. Pretty much the recipe for a fun and hot contemporary novella.

Well f$&k that was good! For everything I dislike about novellas Mandi Beck got it all right! This is such an amazing story for its length. Obviously it moves fast but these characters are fantastically well developed and the story line is brilliant. I loved it from the first page and couldn't read the next 57 fast enough. Jasper is all swoon. From the word go this man is perfection. He's a knight in shining armor with nary a chink. And Fannin is the bomb! This woman doesn't need a hero but why would anyone be crazy enough to not accept a chilvarous offer from a sweet, alpha, hot Scotsman? This story is sweet and funny and HOT AF! I promise you you do not want to miss this story!

I feel like I must start this review by saying I have a love/hate relationship with novellas. On the one hand I love the fact that novellas are quick reads that you can squeeze in, in between others BUT I also sometimes feel that novellas have something missing, are rushed and always leave me wanting SO MUCH MORE from the story, so very rarely can I give a novella 5 stars…

However, I'm doing a total 180 after reading TWISTED. Because I'm giving it ALL THE STARS!! Honestly, I haven’t read a novella/short story THIS GOOD in a lonnnng time.

Twisted is a quick read, that does move fast but misses NOTHING. There is sizzling sexual tension. Creative character connection that thrills to the very core. Burning hot chemistry. A story that was a joy and utter pleasure to read. And even after finishing I can scream that I want more but I want more of Jasper & Fannin. Everything else was there, nothing was lacking. Twisted had it all.

Mandi Beck sure knows how to write men. Hot, delicious, sinful, alpha men. She has wrote two of my ultimate fave hero's ever and Jasper is now sitting pretty up there with them. Jasper is a swoony, swoony bastard. He made my heart go pitter patter and my stomach almost take off with the amount of butterflies it had flapping inside it. He's raw, dirty, sexy, manly, swoony, did I say that? Wait, did I mention he was Scottish?! *gasps* Lord, I think I pretty much highlighted every single word this man said. Swoony, sexy bastard. *sigh*

Mandi also knocked it out the park with Fannin! What a sexy, sassy heroine she was. I loved her! Together, from the impromptu bar meeting, to the insta-lust, to the hot, combustible sex, to the infectious passionate love, Jasper & Fannin are PERFECT for one another and I adore them.

Twisted may be a novella within the Imperfect Love Kindle world series but actually in all honesty.. Twisted stands on a world of its own.
Six, tantalizingly terrific stars!

“I just wanted you to want me.”

Jesus, after reading this and meeting Jasper James, I think I may need him to whip up a good tumbler of whisky for me. Seriously. I MELTED. This man was too much, too good. I mean, where the hell can I get my very own sweet, possessive and protective, bearded and kilt-wearing Scotsman, if not a clone of Jasper, preferably with overnight priority delivery? Because damn, this man is WORTH IT. A true knight in shining armor. I can't even begin to describe how lucky Fannin is to meet and have a guy like Jasper. Although with what they experienced in the past, they do deserve to be in each other's arms.

Twisted was so much more than it seemed. Don't let it being a novella discourage you from reading it because I don't know what magic Mandi Beck summoned and used here, but she was able to highlight almost everything you'd want and look for in a full-length novel with just half as much words. It turned out AMAZING. And downright freaking HOT. I loved every single page of what I just read. The story flowed so well and you won't be able to put it down until it's over. And it made me miss this author's authentic way of writing and her men with an unforgiving alpha streak!

Quick, steamy and very addictive, Twisted will just make you crave and wish for more of Jasper and Fannin's charm and heart and undeniable connection. This novella packs so much heat and feels that it could easily measure up to that of a full-length novel. And I can truly say that I was definitely seduced by the whisky and plaid skirt, Jasper! From page freaking one.

First off the lead male is Scottish...so we all know I'm going to love it.
Second: he's what I like to refer to as a generous lover...I'm for sure going to love it.
Third: a kilt is worn. DONE FOR.

Cute, short, sexy, steamy and funny. Definitely read this!

5 Swoony CROWNS

Twisted by Mandi Beck is another great addition to the Imperfect Love World! I loved all the characters, the story line, and the steam. Perfect!

Oh, lord, can Mandi Beck ever write a swoony hero, and Jasper James is swoony to the max! He is the right balance of protecting his woman and giving Fannin independence. Plus, the Scottish accent and dirty mouth doesn't hurt.

Readers are also going to love the heroine (Mandi Beck Writes some pretty awesome heroines, too). Fannin has some serious gumption in order to face her family and remain at her place of employment. The woman has the backbone of steel, and I love that she never sinks to their level.

The chemistry is off the charts between these two from the beginning, and for a novella, Mandi Beck gives the readers enough interaction between the two to make it about more than lust. These two actually talk and start to connect, and I love them together.

Twisted is another fantastic novella that should be read. I've been dying for a new book from Ms. Beck ever since Stoned, and Twisted quenched my thirst just enough to make waiting for a full novel bearable.

Update to October 2018 release:

I originally read Twisted by Mandi Beck when it was released as part of the Imperfect Love Kindle World and loved it. Now it’s being re-released on its’s own with additional content. More Jasper and Fannin and I loved it! We get to see into their future and how strong their love is. Loved it even more and cannot recommend any higher!

See below for original review:

Loved this book! Jasper James was swoony and dreamy! And sexy and hot. And well all the things you want in a male hero. I laughed so much and loved every minute of it.

Fannin and Jasper were so hot together. They were both so likable. I loved their friends and the story will pull you right in!

We all know Mandi for her angst filled, take your heart out of your chest and stomp on it stories, but in Twisted we see a different side of her. Truly a great read that will leave you happy.

Happy reading!

5 Stars!

I adored Kendall Ryan's Imperfect World and they made my top read list so I was freaking stoked to see a novella kindle world was coming with a star studded cast... and everyone single one of these ladies delivered.

Sexy. Sweet. Fun. Easy. Each book in this series offers something a little different and unique, taking already done plots and making them kick ass in their own unique way. And honestly, I was hooked from the first one.

Alpha makes that make you swoon... and fall fast.
Get ready ladies and hold onto your panties.

"Three friends walk into a bar . . . One walks out the fake girlfriend of a hot, bearded Scotsman."

In Twisted by Mandi Beck, we have my favorite in this series.... and cover too. Fannin and Jasper were a-freaking-mazing. From that one line above, I was hooked, line and sinker for these this story and what they were ready to throw at me.

Their words was enticing. Their chemistry was undeniable. Their passion was magnetic. When they walked out, it might have been fake... but then it turned very very real. Get ready for one sexy, complicated, and seductive story that will have you glued to the pages.

Oh and did I mention the Scottish accent?!

Oh Mandi! I loved loved loved this, every single freaking moment... and that cover, holy smokes!

I highly recommend this book and series.

Title: Twisted
Author: Mandi Beck

4 unexpected stars

As part of the Kindle World Love series, i didn't know what to expect. Honestly, i've read novellas part of a series and was almost ambivalent to some of the books. But this one, well, it surprised and impressed me. I wasn't expecting to enjoy all the instalments or want to read more by the authors. Mandi Beck is a new author and her rendition of a fake fiancee to get further into a company was entertaining. I liked this trio, liked their odd friendship and was more entertained with the budding attraction that was growing between Fannin and Jasper. One this is for certain, i'll be looking forward to reading more from Mandi Beck.

Remember the Tate and Cane series by Kendall Ryan and how a set of authors set out to use the business and write their books. Mandi Beck was one of those authors and takes us back into the world of Tate and Cane. Fannin McGuire is one of the account managers for Tate and Cane and also happens to be Noah's cousin. In Twisted, we discover that her ex-fiance Adam Cafferty who also works for Tate and Cane is getting married to Fannin's evil stepsister Bethany. I hated the characters, Adam and Bethany, as they were both manipulative cows. Fannin is scouting out a new client - the bar Iron Flask when Adam comes in and starts talking about the wedding. Fannin decides to take a load off and share her misery with the bartender Jasper James. One thing leads to another, and he offers to be her wedding date. The pair starts to form a romantic bond and start dating. The thing though is that Jasper hasn't exactly told Fannin who he is and has led her to believe he is a lowly bartender rather than Billionaire and owner of The Iron Flask. Fannin doesn't want to look like she is sleeping with the boss to get a promotion and the account. Can Jasper prove to Fannin that he truly loves her and she is one of a kind? Will Fannin be able to forgive Jasper to have her chance at a happily ever after? Find out in this Imperfect Love Kindle Worlds - Twisted by Mandi Beck.

Jasper James...just saying his name make me tingle and swoon. He is THAT delicious and sexy. And Fannin, I loved her and her kick ass shoes! Those two together were fire! With just a look you knew it was on. I loved Jasper's fierce protection of Fannin....because he wasn't swoony enough! Yet again another hit from Mandi Beck! Her words do amazing things to my heart and this one was one of my favorites!!

One swoony mofo!!
I am gonna be honest – I am not normally an anthology kinda girl but this anthology had quite a few authors that are “go-to” authors so I had to give it a try. I read 3 of the short stories and loved each one of them!

Fannin and Jasper have some serious sparks going on! Jasper might be the swooniest mofo EVER!!

The characters were funny yet flawed. Secrets were kept but their relationship was pure, and sexy and hot AF!

I loved Shelby (Fannin’s roommate) she had my lol on more than one occasion!

My favorite line from her
“Only you would find yourself a rich white boy with a sexy accent who loves to eat pussy.”

Is it wrong that I may have asked my hubby to grow a beard after reading this short story! Loved it!

Grab a glass of whiskey – sit back and enjoy Jasper and Fannin.

Review by Jen Skewes

I loved this novella. I know that some people aren’t fans of novellas especially when they are a part of an anthology. But this is how you write a novella. Mandi Beck gave us so much more than a short romance story. She managed to pack plenty of story into this quick novella that left me feeling completely satisfied. And it never once seemed like too much too fast. It was all so perfect. It was hot and sexy with a side of sweet plus a hot Scottish man that you will fall in love with.

I don’t want to go into too much detail so I will make this short. When Fannin walked into the bar that Jasper James was working at, he instantly knew that there was something about this woman, making him want to get to know her. When he saw that she needed a little bit of saving he stepped in and offered to be her date for a wedding that she did not want to attend. But with Jasper by her side she could get through it. What started as a fake date turned into something so much more.

Jasper is sweet and sexy and I loved how protective he was of Fannin. There was this instant connection between the two of them and this ease that they felt with each other. You felt it from the moment that they met. I loved the flirting and the humor between the two of them. And let’s talk about how hot and sexy this book was. Oh Jasper you had me from the start, but then throw in the sexiness and I was done.

I love Ms. Beck’s writing and she certainly did not disappoint at all. This was the perfect story with just the right amount of sexiness, humor and drama.

“I don’t believe in insta-love but I sure as hell believe in insta-lust, and I am lusting hard over Jasper James. Hard. Right in front of my ex and his soon-to-be bride, and I don’t even care.”

Twisted was such a great read! For me it was a winner because not only Jasper is hot and charming but also he is SCOTTISH!!!!! I live in Scotland and I love a story with a scot man, can’t resist the accent!

Fannin is having drinks at the Iron Flask when she meets the hot Bartender Jasper. She needs to find a date for a wedding… but things are not that simple. She has to attend the wedding of her ex-fiancé who is marrying her step-sister. Jasper saved the day and decided to volunteer as Fannin’s plus one.

“I’m going to fight for her. Because their loss is my gain. Because to me, she’s worth it.”
This story was swoon worthy! It was a quick, fun and sexy read. Five stars for the King of the Kilt!!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for Mandi Beck's novella "Twisted". The story is set in the "Kindle World" of the Imperfect Love series by Kendall Ryan.

First and foremost, this is such a cool concept!!!! Authors writing in the same universe? Sharing characters?! SIGN. ME. UP!!!!!

Back to the matter at hand.... "Twisted".

This story focuses on Jasper and Fannin.

Fannin is the cousin of Noah (of Hitched fame)... Hence how this story flows into that universe. She is strong, witty, and does not have a single damn to give. I adored her.

Jasper. Jennings. The bearded Scotsman who is HOT AS FIRE. Sweet, alpha, funny AND a dirty mouth? Yes please!

The steam factor in this novella is top notch. Honestly some of the best I've read. Very descriptive in the best and most delicious way.

This was my first experience with Mandi Beck and I can safely say she has skyrocketed to the top of my favorite authors list. I cannot wait to read more from her.

pleasant but nothing special - 3*

I thought this was a fake relationship story and those are generally my crack. Plus it got a good review from my friend so I was happy to dive right in. Thus I was a bit disappointed when it turned out that it really is not a fake relationship. Despite that I still had a pleasant afternoon reading this.

It opens with Fannin and her work friends scoping out the bar of a potential client for their company. They are also bitching about having to work on the account with Fannin's cheating ex-fiance who is now days from marrying her stepsister. Jasper, the bartender, overhears all this and when said ex shows up and gloats about the wedding Jasper introduces himself as her plus one. That is the fake part. But only a couple of days go by before they are having a real relationship.

I liked Fannin because she was a perfectly competent woman who was not desperate for a man, not a virgin, not celibate, and able to stand up for herself when dealing with the smarmy ex and bitchy step sister. I could have used more of it in fact but the nature of her character does not lend itself to many nasty interactions. But my nature cried out for more retribution.

Jasper was ok. Spent a bit too much time thinking about his perma-erection around Fannin. And he nicknamed her Fanny which was utterly ridiculous. I was also not a fan of the sex scenes but that is probably just me. The only other thing I did not like was the epilogue.
