About the author

Award winning author Susan Hoddy, is a romance, and young-adult fiction writer; best known for her ‘Lepidoptera Vampire Series’ and her other novel called ‘Security’. Recently, Susan has added to her writing skills, and her new adventure is fully illustrated children’s books. Susan was born in Perth, Western Australia in 1966, and enjoys a good chinwag with family and friends, road trips with her husband, cups of tea, day-dreaming and writing.
Susan has always worked in many facets of an office during her life, but in 2012 she decided life was too short and wanted to make a start on her passion, which was writing. After acquiring her novel writing diploma from the Australian College of Journalism, she continues to create worlds where fantasy and romance exists, with her books. Awakened is the next instalment in the Lepidoptera Vampire series.

I’m seriously falling in love with any book that has fantasy, supernatural, paranormal elements involving vampires, werewolves, witches, etc, and I could have very easily adored this book and its characters if the action scenes were longer than two sentences and described more vividly and the characters popped more as the premise and storyline is quite interesting. Every character seems to have the same voice which sadly makes them hard to distinguish and unfortunately the story is almost entirely lacking in conflict.

All that aside, Awakened is a fun and uncomplicated read.

Susan’s Lepidoptera Vampire Series of books was a very interesting read. She gives us a somewhat different and very imaginative version of the exciting lives of an opulent vampire coven. If you enjoy a saucy vampire romance, then this is the book series for you.

A very captivating and easy to read story. The story flowed nicely and was quite easy to read. I really enjoyed reading this book and series
