Remember Elvis is an all-encompassing, in-depth look at the life and career of a man whose popularity is unrivalled in the history of show business and who continues to attract millions of new fans each year. This groundbreaking book is brimming with rare interviews, insights and experiences. At the heart of this landmark project are over 200 interviews with many of Presley's most intimate associates, as well as some of the biggest names in the film and recording industries. Joe Esposito spent nearly twenty years as Elvis's confidant, close friend and road manager. Joe helps set the record straight about Presley's private life and career, dispelling the innumerable lies, half-truths and rumors that have evolved over the years.
Decent book about various people who knew Elvis and interacted with him over the years. They all stated that he was such a giving, decent guy throughout his life. Some of them also stated that he had no financial advice and that he gave way too much in income taxes because he took no deductions at all. I have read that in other books about him. Some of them also stated that the Colonel really overtook Elvis' life and prevented him from doing fantastic gigs in his career. The Colonel was only in it for the money. It also doesn't mention too much about Priscilla. It doesn't appear that Joe thought too much about her. It does talk about how Lisa Marie called Linda Thompson and told her that Elvis had died. It doesn't talk about Lisa Marie calling her mom. Interesting.
Very good book. Interviews with many of his musicians, girlfriends, movie directors, writers and people who knew band loved Elvis. It's sad to know that most knew he had a problem with prescription drugs, would talk to him about it, but Elvis being Elvis, he thought he could control it and had it under control! His love for Gospel music was key to his life's work, and the love he had for his fans! This is a book of interviews so I read it when I could get a few minutes in! It's an easy read even though it took me a few days.
What can i say . the only thing i can really say is Wow!!! . I am not going to change my mind about what was said about Elvis , because he had a heart for his mom , his music and his friends and family . i will always love him and his music .
This is a really cool book if you're an Elvis fan. It is produced by Joe Esposito one of the former so-called Memphis Mafia. The love and affection for Elvis that went into creating this book is apparent and from front to back it is filled with rare interviews, insights and experiences. People who encountered Elvis, remember Elvis.
