Bay Winchester and Landon Michaels are looking forward to a quiet holiday. It seems someone else has other ideas.

Hemlock Cove is buzzing with activity – and very little of it has to do with Thanksgiving.

The town is christening a new wishing well – dedicated by Mrs. Little herself – and Landon and Bay are eager to attend the unveiling. In truth, Landon is in it for the doughnuts and hot chocolate, but Bay is dedicated to covering the event in the best possible way.

In quick succession, weird things start happening around Hemlock Cove (yes, even weirder than normal). The town tutor is walking around with his own personal harem, there’re rumors that a woman is holding a Star Trek actor in her home a few blocks away and Mrs. Little is now the most popular woman in town. That’s on top of the fact that Bay is convinced she saw a human being flying over Aunt Tillie’s pot field and a pair of elderly Overlook guests can’t stop mauling each other in public places.

Bay figures out what’s going on… and it all comes back to that wishing well. It seems Aunt Tillie wanted to teach Mrs. Little a lesson and it backfired (of course). It’s up to Bay, Landon and the rest of the Winchester family to stop the mayhem before it spreads, and to track down everyone who made a wish and force them to reverse it.

It’s all hands on deck for another crazy adventure. And, along the way, they might just learn something about themselves… that is if they survive the madcap wishes and Mrs. Little’s wrath, of course.

This is book 10.5 (fits between books 10 and 11) of the twin book series Wicked Witches of the Midwest series by Amanda M Lee.

There were so many quotes from this book that I may not put them all. Hmmm… but, why not?!

I wish you would shove a towel in your mouth and stop that darned noise. You may think that’s a conversational tone, but all I hear is ‘blah, blah, I think I’ll whine for a few minutes, blah.’ – Aunt Tillie warning eight-year-old Clove to be quiet while they stalked Mrs. Little

“I want you, Bay.” Landon’s expression was earnest. “I didn’t know it when I found you, but I’ve been searching for you for a long time. When I found you, things clicked into place. That’s the thing you don’t know to wish for when you’re a kid.”

There are times I wish she was mine. Then there are times when I see her with her cousins and thank the maker that she’s not. Still, the times I wish she was mine far outnumber the ones where … oh, geez. What are they doing now? Is that a bottle rocket? Who would give those kids a bottle rocket? – Chief Terry while watching Bay cavort with her cousins

I wish Thistle was that easy to deal with. When she decides she can’t sleep she doesn’t quietly get up and go in the other room so she doesn’t disturb me. Instead, she pinches my nose until the lack of oxygen causes me to jerk awake, and then we have the pleasure of dealing with her insomnia together. – Marcus explaining why Clove is easier to live with than Thistle

Hi, now it’s me again, the reviewer… I suppose I don’t really have much more to say about this one. As far as the 3 cousins, Thistle is about to move out of the guesthouse and in with Marcus, her boyfriend. Clove is already living with Sam, her fiancé. As far as Bay and Landon, Landon will be moving in with Bay at the guesthouse in about a month.

The next book of this series is book 4, “A Witchmas Carol.” It fits in between books 11 & 12 (book 11.5) if you’re reading the twin series A Wicked Witches of the Midwest.

Taking a break from this series. The story was so-so at best. I'm getting weary of the characters. There is NO growth from any of them. Bay/Landon are either in the all touchy/feely mode or "We'll talk about this later" mode. Seriously, it feels like every other paragraph describes him rubbing her neck or rubbing circles on her lower back. Thistle started out ornery and is now just bitchy. Clove seems to be even more of a whiner then at the start of the series....I've read all the books up to this point. I'll give Landon Calling a read later in the fall, but that may be my last one....

I love the humor in this book. In fact I love the style of humor so much that I usually can't wait for these books to come out just so I could be have a good laugh. With that out-of-the-way I do have a couple of comments. 1. In previous reviews I have stated that some of the characters don't sound like themselves but sound like other characters. It appears to have improved in this book. Clove sounds like Clove. She Doesn't sound like Bay. 2. The biggest concern I had was Aunt Tilly. Usually her family is slightly afraid of her because of her ability of retribution. This canon does not play in this book. In fact It seems that aunt Tillie was almost afraid of her nieces, particularly Winnie. The author seems to point out on various occasions that something is wrong with aunt Tillie. At the end of the story when aunt Tillie decides to just throw the potion in the well, aunt Tillie's nemesis is even surprised at the fact that she isn't going to make her suffer. This is jarring and pulls the reader out of the story because the author has stated on several occasions that something is wrong with at Tilly and even has her nemesis point it out at the end of the story. What's worse was the excuse that at Tilly used does not sound like aunt Tillie. Aunt Tillie is supposed to be a bad ass old lady who doesn't take crap from anyone. Yet in the story her character arc is completely opposite of what we have known aunt Tillie to be. I did not believe Aunt Tilly's statement in the end because that is not who she is. It almost sounds like she's dying or something. I think this is where I have the most issues with this authors style of writing. Character arc needs to be true to the characters themselves. If they sound like other characters or if they don't resemble themselves at all then I have a hard time believing the story and it pulls me out completely. Overall I still found it very enjoyable and would recommend this book to anyone.

Make a Witch is part of both the Wicked Witches of the Midwest and the WWMwest Fantasy series. A new wishing well and a town full of wishes..OH, OH !!! Hemlock Cove is a small town now promoting itself as a town full of witches. On the down-low, this town really does have a family of witches. The Winchesters. Three cousins, Bay, Thistle and Clove. With their mothers and their great aunt Tillie. Each cousin has a boyfriend, they are not witches, and these relationships develop from one book to the next. This series follows their daily lives-past and present-and the 'mayhem' that happens in, around and to Hemlock Cove, MI. Alot of mystic and magic is involved. There's action, suspense and good time fun. Amanda M. Lee's SARDONIC wording is masterful. Laugh out loud humor !!! Colorful attitudes and creative disrespect. Each book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone BUT the reader would miss details and the added enjoyment of building a continuing relationship with wonderful characters. The author writes from the perspective of each character at different times. Make a Witch is mostly from Bay and Landon's. And this kind of sums up where their relationship presently is...Landon to Bay, “You’re my home. Hemlock Cove is just a really weird bonus. It’s a bonus that occasionally causes me to see flying people … and talking bears … and cranky witches. It’s still home .” Hemlock Cove is getting a new wishing well. Enjoy what happens when the wishes are real and there are consequences !!!

Bay Winchester and Landon Michaels are looking forward to spending some time together over the holiday. However, something is going on in Hemlock Cove, ever since the christening of the new wishing well sponsored by Mrs. Little. We all know how well things usually work out when she is involved. Landon and Bay want to attend the unveiling, well Landon wants the doughnuts and hot chocolate and Bay has to cover the event for the paper.

After the unveiling weird things start happening around town. A woman is holding a Star Trek actor in her home, Mrs. Little is the most popular woman in town, a boy is flying over the "oregano" field, and an elderly couple can't keep their hands off each other. It takes a little time but Bay figures out whats going on and its all tied to the wishing well. Aunt Tillie tried to teach Mrs. Little a lesson, but instead anyone that wished at the well had their wishes go bad. Now its up to the Winchesters to fix the problem before someone gets hurt.

Make a Witch was a great addition and a great chance to see my favorite characters. Its never a good story without Landon, Bay, and Aunt Tillie causing trouble. I can always count on a great read and some laughs when reading this series. I'm always looking forward to a Wicked Witches of the Midwest story to dive into.

If you thought things have been crazy in Hemlock Cove in the past then this book will prove that wrong.

I believe this is the first book that doesn't have a festival going on. It does however have a new wishing well opening up for the town to replace the old broken one. Miss Little donated the wishing well to the city. So you can only imagine how that will sit with Aunt Tillie.

Aunt Tillie is up to something but no one knows exactly what. Landon comes to visit for the weekend and Bay tries to tell him one night that she saw a person flying over the property in a hooded sweatshirt. He doesn't believe her at first until other things start taking a turn for the odd and crazy in town.

It's up to Bay and Landon to try to figure out what's going on. Is Aunt Tillie involved in what's going on or she innocent in the whole situation? Will they be able to fix things before anything truly bad happens?

I would recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed the series so far. If you haven't read this series you need to pick up the first book and start reading. These books are filled with mystery, laughter, family drama, and heart warming situations.

This was a deep dive into Bay and Landon's relationship mostly with the wishing well story in the background. Bay and Landon were absurdly cute and schmarmy in this.

I am wondering what is going on with Clove's involvement in the series because it seems like we see less and less of her and Sam is pretty non-existent. Thistle's story line is also starting to take a step backwards, and Marcus is just mentioned but not a lot of actual story time. If the story is just going to be about Bay and Landon's story that would be pretty underwhelming, so I hope not.

There was more magic in this story than previous ones and for once it wasn't about a crime - thank goodness because this series is definitely more about crime solving than actual magic. I also noticed that since Bay bought the Whistler we haven't heard much in regards to that.

I think this series could do and be better. Still reading though because I haven't found anything else that is sparking my interest.

What do you get if you cross Aunt Tillie with a wishing well - a heap of trouble!

Okay the storyline was silly and extremely OTT - but it worked. Strange things have started happening and they escalate with the Fair to formally open the town's renovated wishing well. As things get more and more bizarre, Bay and Landon discover that Aunt Tillie has placed a spell on the wishing well. All wishes will be granted. However the kicker is that after a time an adverse reaction is set in motion for the person making the wish. What kind of wishes are being made by the community? Will anyone be hurt by the fallout? Can they get Aunt Tillie to reverse the spell (she had a bit too much liquid courage before she cast it)? Will there be any long term results from it? Not much of a plot but regardless a zany, quirky read.

Another neat book in this series about Bay and her family, especially Aunt Tillie. However, it's different from the other series by the author as this one has quotes from Aunt Tillie which give some insights into how she thinks.

And plots.

Anyhow, there's a wishing well which is causing problems in that it grants wishes and before long there's quite a bit of trouble in Hemlock Grove. This includes a young guy flying, literally, over where Aunt Tillie's pot field is located. Then there's a young guy who suddenly has loads of girls fawning all over him. The wishes, though, will end up causing problems and one person even dies.

It's up to Aunt Tillie to try to save the day which does bring me to one question. Wouldn't have it been easier to make a wish that all the other wishes were nullified and that no more wishes would be granted? That would have saved a lot of trouble.

Fun, High jinks, and Freakyness!

A magic wishing well that makes wishes really come true. What's not to love about that?
Maybe the fact the wishes are coming true, because of a spell Aunt Tilly added to get vengeance on her nemesis.
Suddenly, all kinds of weird and freaky things are happening to the people who dropped a coin in the well and made a wish.
It turns out, you get exactly what you wished for, (which
can turn out unexpectedly, depending on how you worded your wish.)
The catch, (and there's always a catch with Aunt Tilly 's spells), is you get what you want, for awhile. Then the spell backfires.
Fun huh? Not if you're Bay and Landon, and looking forward to the weekend, in pjs, in front of the fireplace.
It's just another wacky festival in the hometown.
Let the fun begin!

Title: Make A Witch: A Wicked Witches of the Midwest Fantasy
Author: Amanda M. Lee
Publisher: WinchesterShaw Publications

Bay and Landon Michaels are at it again. They are looking forward to a nice quiet pajama weekend. As usual, things do not go according to plan. The town's new wishing well is being unveiled, dedicated by none other than Aunt Tillie's arch nemesis, Mrs. Little. Everything would have been fine if Tillie hadn’t cursed the well and made everyone’s wishes come true then it all went very wrong.

Wonderful Fantasy

I really enjoyed this Winchester Witches fantasy. Good story that flows effortlessly, well-rounded characters, interesting events. The only thing that kept it from a 5 star rating is Landon's behavior regarding Bay. He is an FBI agent and he needs to man-up and act like one. Keep his mind out of the gutter and stop pawing on Bay. Book after book and it is getting monotonous. That said, if you can overlook his inappropriate behavior this book is great and well worth reading. I am looking forward to the next adventure.

Another hit

Amanda Lee is an awesome writer. I first started reading the wicked witch's of the Midwest series and got hooked. If you like snarky , funny, loyal and great stories these books are for you. I think everyone can relate to having someone in there family like Aunt Tilly even if they cannot curse you. Amanda Lee is an author that I tell all my friends to read. She takes you to another place but makes you feel as if you're in the stories. Check these books out you won't be disappointed.

What is Aunt Tillie up to now?

Imagine a wishing well, Mrs. Little, and Aunt Tillie and you have a recipe for disaster.

The town had a new wishing well donated by no other than Mrs. Little. If you have been reading these stories from the beginning, you know there is no love loss between Aunt Tillie and Mrs. Little.

Wishes become what people wished for and then it turns on them. You need to read to find out what Aunt Tillie knows and did and what needs to happen to make the town safe again, at least as safe as it can be.

Make A Witch

The Winchester's Aunt Tillie has really gotten everyone in town in a pickle this time. After her nemesis Ms. Little donated to have a new wishing well built for the town. Aunt Tillie drank some wine. Got drunk and broke all the witchy rules. Chief Terry, Landon, Bay, Clove & Thistle scramble to make things right again. While Aunt Tillie gets put in lockdown at the Inn. Until she is able to make things right again. Great read. Amanda M. Lee's books always make me smile & laugh.

The Winchester family has a real problem on their hands in 'Make A Witch'. Mrs. Little has paid for building a Wishing Well in the town of Hemlock Cove. Following the dedication of the new well, strange things start to happen. The more people that make wishes at the well, the more strange things start occurring. Throw in the same lovable and amusing characters that make up the Winchester family and the citizens of Hemlock Cove and you have a novel that holds your attention and gives you a few laughs along the way.

Another wild ride with the Winchester family! I loved it!!

Bay and Landon are in the thick of another mystery! Add in a wishing well and a flying boy, and you have all of the makings for another great story from Amanda M Lee!
The story also touches on some serious subject/situations that I completely identify with. Really helped me figure a few things out that had bothered me for a number of years. Thank you for that Amanda!

Leave it to Aunt Tilly

Leave it to Aunt Tilly to wreck havoc with something as simple as a wishing well . In trying to curse her worst enemy she ends up with an even bigger problem . That means the entire Winchester family must work to solve the problems she created . We get to see the world through the eyes of each member of the family and learn why they react the way they do .

The Snark is high in this one! Laugh out loud funny. I enjoy all of the Wicked Witches Series but just read some of the fantasy stories. This is a good one! You will enjoy this book above the Fairy Tail book, I think. It has more craziness and, believe it or not, realism! Worth every penny when you buy the paperback to add to your collection of "Must Read Again" books. I highly recommend this hilarious fantasy!

4 Stars... One wish, what could it hurt? In Hemlock Cove and with Aunt Tillie's meddlesome tendencies? Catastrophe! Bay, Landon, and the Winchester witches are in a race against time to protect the residents of Hemlock Cove when a curse's backlash comes in full force... With all the hilarity we expect from these characters, this story takes readers on a fun filled fantasy adventure into the world of wishes and their magical consequences:)

I love the fantasies of this series as they allow Amanda M. Lee to do something entirely different. And this book certainly was different. I won't spoiler it to you, but I loved the dynamics in this book and Aunt Tillie finally is in over her head...T-R-O-U-B-L-E!

One of my favourite moments is the talk between Landon and Jack though. Highligh of this book for me! Another solid 5 stars!

Wishes gone wrong!

I really love these stories, short or long. This was not the best one I've read but definitely a great story. If you have a fondness for Aunt Tilley, you'll get a somewhat different look at her in this tale about wishes, revenge, love, mistakes and of course bacon.

Always entertaining

I am always excited when one of these books comes out. I love this author. Her books always keep me smiling and laughing out loud. My only complaint is I wish they were longer. They always seem to end to soon. On the plus side, I have never felt like there is just stuff put in to fill pages.

The best yet.....

Amanda M Lee has written her best Witches book yet. Make a Witch is absolutely hilarious and full of snark! Aunt Tillie has caused her biggest mess yet and the results keep getting worse. Magic spells gone wrong, teenage love troubles, flying kids, and so much more. This is definitely the book to read if you want some genuine witch fun!!!!

Wish it was better! .

This one just missed the mark for me. Too childish and if I don't get more than sexual bacon innuendos, ghosts and festivals I'm leaving this town for good. How about some mystery and murder with the mayhem? This one seems to have been written for the publisher, not the fans.

Extremely entertaining

And entertaining snarky cozy mystery based in a little niche town in northern Michigan. A family of birth and kitchen witches who solve mysteries and get into trouble and work their ways out of it. This is an extremely entertaining and fun series. Never gets too dark but has plenty of sarcasm and Snark to go around. You cannot go wrong with the series
