Oh my god. I struggle to think of when I have had more fun reading a book. There were several moments in this book that made me laugh out loud not because they were funny but because I could not believe how awesome they were. Your milage may vary but I'm into the secret treasure defended by massive conspiracy tropes like the National Treasure films. If you're into hidden cities, conspiracies, treasure hunting, etc you are going to love this book and this series.

Excellent story with action, adventure, and a hint of romance! Anubis Key is David Wood and Alan Baxter's follow up to Blood Codex. When Rose Black's estranged sister disappears, Rose must rely on Jake Crowley to help her in her search. Following the trail of the missing woman leads Jake and Rose through countries, exotic locations, and twisted conspiracies in their efforts to find her. This story kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end and definitely left me anxious for the next in the series!

I'll come back and write a proper review, but good god! The amount of times Rose kisses Jake on the cheek was so distracting (and not in a good way). Throw in a hand squeeze, arm stroke, lingering brush of fingers. Something. Anything. The bloody cheek kissing. Hurghhh.

Enjoyed otherwise.

The sequel to Blood Codex, Anubis Key picks up where the previous novel ended. A Jake Crowley adventure, the duo of Rose and Jake this time look for her missing sister Lily. Their adventure takes them to some lesser known pyramids of Egypt, the Denver airport and on to the Grand Canyon.

I enjoyed the novel and it was typical of what I expected from this book. That is, lots of suspense, action, drama and of course the obligatory tears. I also liked the fact that the story leveraged off real facts. There are obvious parallels to Dan Brown’s books, but the authors have made sufficient changes that it is not copycatting. Unfortunately, I don’t like the two main characters which make it difficult for me to care about them. I really hated the endless sexual tension which always led to tears. I also found the actions of the duo at times farfetched and some of the plot was implausible. The ending, in particular, didn’t resonate with me and I found it contrived. Having said that, I did enjoy the book and I won’t hesitate to purchase the third in the series once it’s out. I can recommend it to anyone who enjoys thrillers.

Anubis Key Book two in the Jake Crowly Adventure by David Wood & Alan Baxter
I didn't realize when I started reading this book that is was the second book in the Jake Crowly Adventure Series. However, the book was able to hold its own. It has a strong storyline with plenty of action and stays true to its speculative fiction genre. The story is about Rose Black whose sister, Lily is missing. She contacts Jake Crowly and asks him to help her locate her sister. The story starts out in Egypt and from there to the Denver airport and on to the Grand Canyon. There was a surprising twist at the end leaving it open for the third book.

A lot of research went into Anubis Key, something I appreciate. I'm looking forward to reading the whole series. Anubis Key is a thrilling adventure that holds you to the very last page. Anyone who loves action, adventure, and a bit of supernatural will enjoy the book. I'm giving it four stars.

More hair-raising adventures as ex-military officer Jake Crowley and historian of antiquities Rose Black set out to find Rose’s missing sister, Iris. Their hunt takes them from Egypt to the US Midwest in search of a lost Egyptian city and the fabled Anubis Key, an artefact of immense power. The multiple crimes Iris commits along the way cause problems for Rose as she is mistaken for her sister. I loved the high adventure of this story, the surprise twists, the mystical temples and artefacts, and the aerial chase! The action never let up. Audio narrator Jonathan Waters handles Egyptian, US and UK accents, the banter and the action with ease!

Good story!

I’m really enjoying the adventures of Jake Crowley but I really liked book 1 more. In this storyline the connections and leads seem a little too far out there. But I’m excited to see where each clue leads and I absolutely love the bad assery in both Jake and Rose. The narration is fantastic. I think that Jon Waters has a way of giving us all the emotions and the feelings of each character. I can’t stress this enough, he has a wonderful female voice.
This book is continuing to book 3. I’m ready for more adventures and I recommend this book/series.

Another great book by David Wood. Jake and Rose team up once again. This time it is to find her sister Rose. Jake hasn't had much contact with Rose since that last adventure brought them together.
Jake and Rose have to follow the few clues they have. Their adventure takes them to the Pyramids. They are chased by a strange cult. Rose is betrayed.

Twist and turns lead to a high powered powered book.

Enjoyed this one more than the first Crowley outing, with lots of bonkers historical conspiracy and international scene-hopping to keep things moving. Despite all the supernatural underpinnings, my favourite part was probably all the insane-but-true information about the Denver airport.

The will-they, won't-they romance went on too long but had a decent payoff, and the end of the novel sets up an antagonist for future novels who I'm really looking forward to.

Wow!Just wow! This was fast paced and full of intrigue. Jake gets sucked into a mystery surrounding an airport that is not quite what it seems. With horrendous murals and giant Anubis statues, this is not an ordinary airport. Rose starts the bowl rolling by hiring him to find her sister,Lily, who is missing. Jonathan Waters was a fine narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

Wow. I really get lost in these books. The adventure, danger, and the visualization of how the details are seen.

Jake and Rose on their adventure, looking for Rose's sister.

Rose and her sister aren't close, but she knows something is up. Never did Rose expect to find her sister was caught up in a search for... the Anubis Key.

This story had me from the beginning. The adventure that Jake and Rose are on...But I love that there's loads of serious thought put into the story. Jake and Rose are so smart and it shows in their details and knowledge of where they go and what the see.

I'll say, the connection of the Denver airport murals... This blew my mind. I actually went and searched to see the images as I listened to this part of the book. I love the secrets that the authors tied into these.

There is a touch of a growing connection between Jake and Rose. I do enjoy they way they respect each other and talk to each other. This is a duo I enjoy seeing work together.

I will gladly dive into the next Jake Crowley book, and any in the future.

I enjoyed this second book in the Jake Crowley series SO much. It takes us on another crazy adventure with unexpected twists and a speed to the story that has you reading each chapter faster than the last. Come along and be part of a great adventure!

Not a bad book, enjoyable stoey. Not too keen on Rose and her wishy washy character, plus she seems overly abrupt at times, but overall an enjoyable adventure.

Another rock solid performance on a somewhat predictable mystery once again involving our now familiar protagonists: Jake and Rose. When Rose's sister goes missing, she seeks out Jake to help and the team soon lands in America where the mystery starts to take on some occult overtones. There is not a lot of waste in this fairly quick story and the heroes are a very likably team that gives you a feel good vibe by the end. In other words, this is pure escapists fun and well worth a listen (even if you don't have the previous books).

This sequel to Blood Codex was a fun ride from start to finish. We are once again with Jake and Rose on an adventure, this time involving the search for Rose's sister. There was a lot of historical background in this story, and I found that so intriguing. I definitely plan on continuing on with this series.
