Hellsing: The Dawn

Hellsing, an organization devoted to the elimination of the vampire threat, has recently uncovered information regarding the attempted production of "man-made" undead. The world is presently in the thick of WWII, and the current leader of Hellsing fears the Nazis could potentially use these creatures as front-line super-soldiers. Although the technology of creating artificial vampires is still in its infancy, it has advanced enough to be a serious threat. In an attempt to put a stop to this perverse and dangerous experimentation, Hellsing has sent two of its most skillful agents to Poland. A young man by the name of Walter C. Dornes - a.k.a. "The Angel of Death," and Alucard, an ancient vampire currently in forced service to the Hellsing Organization. Together, they attempt to stop the progress of the Nazi's efforts.

Kohta Hirano (平野 耕太 Hirano Kōta) is a Japanese mangaka most famous for his manga Hellsing. Starting his career first as a mangaka's assistant (self-described as "horrible" and "lazy" in said assistant position), and later an H manga artist, he went on to enjoy somewhat limited success with other relatively unknown manga titles such as Angel Dust, Coyote, Gun Mania and Hi-Tension. His first major success came with his manga series Hellsing, which got its start and was subsequently serialized in a monthly manga magazine, Young King OURs, towards the latter half of 1997.

Por un momento pensé que la historia seguiría, pero me enteré de que solo lo dejaron al capítulo 6 🤡

Es triste, ya que el tomo en sí, no explica mucho de lo que está pasando, da información muy corta y breve, y la historia de los personajes no se explica. Tenemos a un Walter joven y más activo, y un Alucard muy meh, de lo poco que salió en los capítulos. Eso sí, se lee super rápido y en cierta ocasión, está ese típico humor que me gusta.

Me pone triste que no siguieran la historia, pudo haber tenido potencial.

Para ser una precuela, realmente aportó poca información al respecto. Las peleas fueron geniales como siempre, pero francamente esperaba un poco más de este volumen, lo peor es que está incompleto. Fue agradable de leer, tampoco tomó mucho tiempo, pero sí he de decir que Hellsing sí tenía el potencial para hacer una precuela, puesto que dejaron varias cosas al aire, una de elllas fue el asunto de Walter, creí que aquí explicarían con más detalle las circunstancias por las cuales traicionó a Hellsing. Pues, incluso hoy en día, sigo sin creerme que fue solo para poder derrotar a Alucard, puesto que incluso aquí, es evidente su lealtad a la organización, sin mencionar, que realmente parecía tener un aprecio real por Sir Intregra. También pudieron haber explicado un poco mejor el asunto de los experimentos con los restos de Mina Harker, esa parte para ser tan importante, no la profundizaron lo suficiente.

I'm bummed there is only 6 chapters and none of them were very information on certain characters or scenarios. Otherwise it is good for what it is.
