This is an exciting and romantic series. Once you start reading the first book, you won't want to put it down until the last book. The characters are likable and captivating, the storylines are interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed reading each book, and liked the way the characters are intertwined. I definitely recommend adding it to your TBR list. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
I usually like only historical romances, but your series was so flowing with life’s ups and downs and pure love. It makes me want to hav3 this series go on and on. Just loved it.
I just loved the Alex Jackson series by Joanne Dannon. I am voluntarily reviewing it. I was given an ARC of each of the books, individually, and read them as soon as I got them. When I got the set, I read them all over again. Each book is a standalone, but it helps to read them in order, as the characters are somewhat intertwined. There are NO cliffhangers and they each have that HEA with a twist. Wonderful series! Can't wait to read what Joanne has for us next!!!
Kisses Under the Spotlight is an enjoyable light-hearted romance that highlights the complications experienced by ordinary people when falling for an icon. When vulnerable Violet is called in to attend to Alex Jackson after he has hurt himself on stage, she is swamped with emotions, but mostly has a reality check when faced with the star's aggressive manager and Alex's less than friendly demeanour. Violet hates the limelight, with good reason, and when she falls victim to unscrupulous press, her reaction is to run. Nevertheless the attraction between the star and the physiotherapist is inevitable and when they give into their feelings, their relationship is explosive. Alex finally has a chance at reaching his dream and although he finds himself falling more and more for Violet, he realises that if he wants to continue the relationship, he is going to have to make some choices. I loved the main characters in the book and enjoyed the build-up of romance between Alex and Violet. Daisy is a delightful if irreverent character and I loved Alex's protective attitude towards Violet and her fears.
Wanting Mr Right: When Logan needs a fake fiancé, who better to call on than Daisy? Logan and Daisy have known each other since they were children and despite being the "go to person" when in need, they don't appear to have much respect for one another. At first I did not like either Logan or Daisy, as both characters seemed to be selfish and totally self-absorbed. There were times when I got so angry with Logan for his crass behaviour, but fortunately Daisy had the background and attitude to withstand his barbs. As the story developed I wondered whether they would ever be able to reach the point of falling in love, but with enough time together and unexpected events, they find themselves seeing each other in a new light. Fortunately they both came to their senses. The heat level is high on this book.
Together at Last is a sweet romance, if a little slow moving. Both Amielle and Ethan are battling with their insecurities, making them mistrust and misjudge one another. Brother Zac is a thorn in their flesh and he makes any attempt at a relationship almost impossible. However, once they pass the big brother barrier, as well as overcoming a few insecurities, they head for their happy ending. Amielle had been battered down by circumstances and was feeling a little sorry for herself when Ethan came back into their lives. Despite being goal orientated, Ethan finds that Amielle is a distraction he doesn't need in his life. Nevertheless, physical attraction takes over and before he knows it, he is heading down the path of no return, despite the conflict of interest they have regarding a property that they both want for business purposes. The heat level of this book is rather high and needs to come with an age restriction.
Forever Mine: There are sometimes disadvantages in knowing a person too well. Hannah has known Zac most of her life, has been in love with him for most of her life, and knows full well that he is not relationship material. Yet, her heart persists in yearning for him, and Hannah decides that the only way to get him out of her system is to leave town after his sister and her best friend get married. Zac unwittingly prevents her escape and their fragile relationship takes a new turn. I loved both these characters. Zac is a notorious womaniser but his heart is good and under the flashiness he is really a sweetheart and will do anything for family and close friends. Hannah has her hang-ups that have prevented her from getting into relationships, quite apart for her lingering crush on Zac. There was a wholesomeness to this book and the language flowed smoothly and easily, making this an enjoyable and undemanding read. I could lose myself in the romance and enjoy the building love story.
I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Kisses Under the Spotlight**** Violet is a realistic character, her infatuation with Alex is shaken when she is actually working for him. Alex has a tough exterior but I think he has a good heart. They both soon discover the drama of mixing business with pleasure which only the strong in love can survive. Their story was interesting and gripping. Wanting Mr. Right**** Daisy & Violet are great supporting characters & I am glad the author continued their bond with this book. Daisy is in a bind financially and she doesn't want anyone to know hoe broke she really is. Logan is in a bind too, he wants to advance his career and Daisy is just what he needs to do that. They have history but can they have more than a casual affair??? Nothing like trying to see what happens, Daisy seems kind of vulnerable and Logan is a bit overwhelming at times but they are drawn together like a moth to a flame....enjoyable additional to the series. Together At Last**** This was a pretty good story. Ellie came across as wishy washy in regard to really wanting to be with Ethan after he tried so hard to resist their attraction out of respect his friendship with not only her but her brother. He was a great character with some abandonment issues but mature about his life, very smart, career-driven & surprisingly not commitment shy when it comes to Ellie. Definitely engages the emotions as these two battle for what they want, the house, love or both. Forever Mine***** This is my favorite of this series but I have enjoyed reading them all. I like how the author connects the many characters from previous book in series without overshadowing the main characters story. Hannah has issues, physically & emotionally which she thinks she has the solution for until Zac throws a monkey wrench in her flight plan. He's her fantasy man but he's a player. Zac loves Hannah as his sister's best friend, knows she reliable and has always been there for his family so he will do anything to help her. A little time alone is a revelation for them both. Author surprised me with the interesting twist to this plot.
Kisses Under the Spotlights This author does a great job of providing the Cinderella and Prince Charming type of relationships which is sweet and cozy type of reads with some steam. Her characters are sweet and sexy and her plots are easy. Fun and light read.
Falling for Mr Wrong I really enjoyed this the second book in the series since there is a little more edge to this one more emotions involved. Both of these two have much work to do and pretending isn't helping with the mixed emotions. I love the troubles and the author's handling of their personal demons. I have read previous books where the plot was not nearly as complicated and the characters not as realistic but I liked them more.
Together At Last Going from friends to lovers these two have a lot to work thru. Although the story may be a little slow it is a beautiful story of second chance. Insecurities, their individual past bind them while their future plans may clash. If they can once again work together and be ready to make adjustments they just might make it thru this.
Forever Mine Hannah has loved Zac forever it seems but he has never seen her that way. But now that the walls have been knocked out the way and all is laid out to bare they just might finally get the HEA Hannah always dreamed of. I enjoyed this story the best out of the series, best friends to lovers.
The Alex Jackson series contains four standalone contemporary romances with no cliff hangers even though they have some of the same characters in each book. The stories are some what connected to each other yet they do not depend on each other. Ms. Dannon is a remarkable story teller and all of the books in this series are winners.
Book 1 Kisses under the Spotlight
Can a superstar jazz entertainer win the heart of an ordinary girl or will he ruin everything,
Book 2 Wanting Mr Right
Can an all work and no play uptight lawyer convince his fake friends-with-benefits fiancée that he wants her to be his fiancée for real.
Book 3 Together At Last
They both want the same piece of property for two different projects. Who will win or will they both be winners?
Book 4 Forever Mine
He thought of her as a little sister or did he? One fabulous weekend of passion will lead to a life time of responsibility.
This series is well worth reading and I recommend doing so.
I received this book from the author and I am freely posting this fair and balance review.
What a great set of books when one is finished you want the next one! This set has Book 1 Kisses under the Spotlight this is Superstar Alex Jackson and Physiotherapist Violet McKenzie's story can two people who have been hurt in love before find it with each other? Book 2 Wanting Mr Right is about friends Logan Wentworth whose career is everything to him and supermodel, Daisy Roberts he wants her to pretend to be his fiancee . Can these two realize that love is all they need?Book 3 Together At Last , Amielle Warne’s life has been put on hold after she is hit by a hit-and-run driver. Physically injured and jobless, she plans on setting up a women’s medical clinic with her friends. But Life-weary scientist, Ethan Cuthber and her want the same building. This one I did not want to put down! Book 4 Forever Mine This is Hannah Greene and her best friend's brother Zac Warne's story . One is fed up with love and the other one believes love is not for them, but what happens when they have to spend a weekend together ? I had read each story separately then I was gifted the boxed set which I am choosing to review.
This is a wonderful series of interconnected standalones, each with their own HEA but there are crossover characters. These stories are very well written, engaging and fun, hot and steamy, a great collection of fun romances. Wanting Mr. Right was my favorite. Logan is beyond hot, and his chemistry with Daisy is off the charts. I liked Daisy a lot; she's feisty and funny and sees right through Logan. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Thoroughly enjoyed The Alex Jackson series. I am voluntarily reviewing these books. I read 2 of them individually and then re-read them in the series and again had to read them in almost one sitting as wanted to know the end. Even though some of the characters are the same, each book reads very well alone, and they all end on a beautiful note. They are easy and fun to read with enough suspense and spice for interest. I will keep an eye out for more books by Joanne Dannon.
A four book collection of romance stories that do not have to be read in order. Book 1 Kisses under the Spotlight, Book 2 Wanting Mr Right,Book 3 Together At Last and Book 4 Forever Mine. They are all standalones and no cliffhangers. This is a great box set with a good variety. Well written with interesting characters and strong storylines. Each book has it's own theme but there are crossover characters. I received an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review the set.
The four books in the Alex Jackson boxed set will touch your heart. They can be read in order but they don't have to be read in order even though they all tie into the singer Alex. They are about falling in love, dealing with pain, loving someone who doesn't love you, and being on your own with all of its ups and downs. The characters will pull you into their drama until you find out how things worked out. I liked that the characters showed up or were mentioned in the other books too. Great series by Joanne Dannon! I received an advanced copy of the boxed set and I willingly chose to write an honest review. I actually own 3 of the individual books (1,2,and 4).
What a wonderful set of romances to make your day a pleasure. Each book in the series deals with a different issue and the outcome is delightful. These are stories for the romance lovers and everyone else as well. Don't miss getting this series. Received an ARC but reviewing because I would have anyway.
This is an excellent oppurtunity to get four fantastic books in one great set. The books are connected with characters yet standalone romances with no cliffhangers and HEA endings. There are sexy scenes that could set your Kindle on fire. A definite must read!! Get your copy today and enjoy!! Each book will take you on a journey you will love. I am volintarily leaving my review after reading an advance reader copy of the book.
*4.5 stars * The Alex Jackson series features four standalone, yet connected romances. Each story has a unique theme, but all include an HEA and are guaranteed to delight romance readers. The perfect light, enjoyable beach read. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
The Alex Jackson series is a group of books that can be read as stand alone, and are quick, well written reads. Joanne Dannon tells great stories; she writes characters that sneak their way into your heart and tug on your heartstrings as you follow their journey from "me' to "we". Her characters are loveable, sometimes flawed and cautious, and ultimately, just wanting to be loved - whether they know it or not.
Kisses Under The Spotlight (book 1) is by far the best romance novel I have ever read. It is beautifully written with such depth of emotions between Alex and Violet. The other 3 books are based from a character in book 1 and each story can be read as a standalone. Each story is beautifully written.
Book 2's (Wanting Mr. Right) hi-lights are hilarious, seeing their lies escalate and waiting to see how they try to wiggle out of tight awkward conversations.
Book 3 (Together At Last) is a tug-of-war between Amielle & Ethan who have different views and want the same thing. Both overcome the obstacles & are "Together At Last".
Book 4 (Forever Mine) is another wonderful story about Hanna & Zac. Zac needs to up his game & prove to Hanna he can be devoted to her. He has his work cut out for him as she shows no indication of budging from her opinion of his womanizing and not wanting to settle down.
I voluntarily received an exclusive ARC for an honest review.
Book 1/4 "kisses under the spotlight". sweet romance between a famous singer/dancer ala frank sinatra and an everyday girl physio. I really liked this book since it has a few twists about character backgrounds along the way. Book 2/4 "Wanting mr right". The first book has me wanting to read the rest of the series to see how the other characters achieve their HEA. Really enjoyable and recommended!
The Alex Jackson series – 4 Complete Romances: Would you take the chance if it meant forever? by Joanne Dannon Book 1 Kisses under the Spotlight Fairy tales aren’t just for princesses
Alex Jackson jazz singing and dancing superstar meets physiotherapist Violet McKenzie when he hurts his ankle while on tour. Alex himself is broken and Violet has sworn off men. However, that is until those two meet and work together. Do they stand any chance of a happily ever after or does that only happen in songs or stories? Book 2 Wanting Mr. Right Daisy Roberts was a supermodel and Logan Wentworth's career meant everything to him. They were friends with benefits. Logan needs a fiancée and Daisy is in a slow spot, good in bed together, is it all enough to convince his boss he is ready for that next big promotion. Joanne Dannon has a wonderful flair for writing a sizzling love story in an exotic location. Daisy and Logan are an awesome couple. Book 3 Together at Last What can love really do? That is the question on the minds in the book by Joanne Dannon. Amielle Warne had the perfect life. Ethan Cuthbert has returned home and is a scientist. There is a disagreement about a property they both want. Ethan and Amielle need to work things out in weeks before he goes back to America. Ethan is staying at the home of Amielle and her brother. Sparks do fly between them but Ethan knows Amielle’s brother would not approve. Will it work? Book 4 Forever Mine Joanne Dannon did it again! Wrote the perfect love story! Hannah Greene had been fitting it at the Warne household, so Zac thought of her as a sister till he decided to take her with on a sports weekend where they would meet up with 2 of his male buddies. Enjoy, I know I did.
I highly recommend purchasing this series. All of the books are connected standalone romances with no cliffhangers, steamy scenes that will set your Kindle on fire, and HEA endings.
Here is a condensed version of my reviews for each book:
Kisses Under the Spotlight offers a glimpse inside the lives of celebrities, a life I wouldn’t want for myself, but I loved experiencing it alongside Violet and Alex. The ending is adorable and I love how it segues into Daisy’s story.
Wanting Mr. Right was my favorite book in the series. Logan is hot. Beyond hot. Career-obsessed, Logan and superstar model, Daisy were the perfect match—and I especially adored the fake fiancé theme! The fact that the two had a past also added depth to the story, and I loved their banter about their pasts. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for an incredibly hot male and a feisty female with a touch of friends-to-lovers as well as the fake fiancé romance.
In Together at Last, I felt that Ellie and Ethan’s characters were well-developed, and I enjoyed the cute Australian expressions that we don’t have here in America, like physio. I loved the dialogue, especially when each character was with their friends!
In Forever Mine, I absolutely loved Hannah’s character because she was so relatable. The heartache she goes through while pining for a guy that only dates a certain type of woman had my stomach in knots. Used to living a certain lifestyle, Zac needs to grow up a bit, and Hannah is the perfect person to help him do so. I loved watching each of their characters evolve, especially when Hannah finally opens up.
I received a copy of this set and volunteered to review it.
This was my first time reading this author,,,, and I would very much recommend it,,,, they can be read as stand alones ,,,, but I just HAD to read them ,,, all at once,,,, LOL
I received this book in exchange for an honest review
I very much enjoyed reading this,,,,, It gives you everything you need in a book,, and then some,,,,, there are ups and downs and a very nice ride along with the characters,,,,, with a twist that just makes you wonder,,,,,
Read the serues,,,,, you'll enjoy it,,,I know I did ,
I really loved these stories they are fun emotional and moving and shows how strong love can be, they are sure to leave you sighing and smiling MS Dannon writes a fabulous story
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a fun series that was focused on women decided that what they wanted was a loving relationship meant to last, and men who discovered they wanted the same thing. Each book focused on a different couple that were connected in some way (all having a connection to Alex Jackson). Each couple had different issues to overcome, but you wanted the best for all of them as they tried.
Kisses Under the Spotlight: This was a cute read that made you hope for the best, especially for Violet, and be able to see and Alex Jackson concert. I have to say part of why it was so fun was the idea of having the opportunity to meet/interact with a celebrity crush and having it progress to an actual relationship. And who hasn't considered that, at least in the same way you tried to figure out if it could be possible to be a actual princess when you were young. What I appreciated about this story was that it wasn't overly romanticized, there were issues and concerns that needed to be dealt with, and they were.
Wanting Mr Right: Having met Daisy in the previous installment, it was easy to want the best for her. This is even more true since she has made some life changes and is seeking for a meaningful relationship and commitment. I appreciated the strength that she showed in standing up for herself and her needs throughout the book, so some of her actions definitely lead to some funny escalation to their fake engagement.
Together at Last: I enjoyed getting to see hoe Amielle and Ethan were able to change the dynamics of their relationship while being mindful of each other and potential emotional baggage. What was most impressive was how they handled both wanting to use the same house for different, but important reasons and how these to conflicting worthwhile plans were adapted over the course of the book.
Forever Mine: This was a fun read, and it provided some closure since the potential couple was clearly identified in the previous installment. Though this is the last in the series thus far, you don't have to have read the others (by reading this you will know for sure who ends up together in previous books, but it doesn't give enough information to truly spoiler the them). I would say that my favorite part of this installment was how Zac and Hannah were determined to be honest with each other. Plus, how can you not like a long time crush coming to fruition?
The series showcases four CV couples each couple will take you to their own journey that will leave you loving them more than when you started.
Each book is a standalone but I found it incredibly helpful that I was able to read them one after the other so I could enjoy their individual book better.
The way Joanne Dannon writes about each couple has you emerging into the story you'll forget is fictional. Also the way she researched about each topic highlighted in each story makes it more believable.
I'm very impressed and I know I'm an instant fan of her work. If you are looking for a new author to start following this summer then Joanne Dannon is the author to read.
I volunteerly review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
