This fast-pace thriller and romantic suspense novel won the First Prize for Fiction from Writer’s Digest. Independent Publisher magazine awarded it the First Place IPPY. Claire DuMond can't believe her father would just lapse into a coma for no apparent reason. Even his doctors are mystified. So she sets out to find the cause and soon arrives on the Caribbean island of Martinique. There she meets a Voodoo priest who helps her travel back in time to the year Mt. Pelée erupted and killed more than 30,000 living souls. As one reviewer wrote about it, “Occasionally, perhaps even rarely, a novel is written that brings together heart-racing action with heart-rending insight.” Fair warning—get ready before you start because you won’t be able to put it down.
A very enjoyable read .I especially enjoyed the historical aspect . After having read 'The Last Moon' by Deann Lubell I found this author's description of the island and the events of the tragedy to be very familiar. It is obvious this author researched these events very thoroughly. I found it hard to stop reading, it was suspenseful and fast paced and the out of body experience details were fascinating. This book had it all, suspense, adventure, romance , inspiration, humor and a feel good happy ending.
Time travel and foodoo are not my cup of tea. Not a physicist either. Did not understand most of book. Skipped to the end just to see if everything worked out.
