Beachy, heartwarming and inspirational, Laurie Larsen's love stories contain a bit of faith in addition to the Happily Ever After. Her beloved Pawleys Island Paradise series gained fans, not only because of the stories and unforgettable characters, but the "arrogantly shabby" real-life island setting.

A multi-award winning author, she's won the EPIC Award for Best Spiritual Romance, the Illumination Book Award for Inspirational Romance Fiction and the eLit Award for Religious Fiction.

Laurie began her writing career back when she was juggling a challenging day job in Information Technology Management. Bewildered as to how an English major who loved to read discovered herself in a highly technical career path, writing became her creative release. Because "all good things come to those that wait," her reward finally arrived: retiring from the day job, moving to the beautiful South Carolina Lowcountry and writing novels full-time; at least, in between lathering on the sunscreen, walking the beach, and entertaining her feisty rescue pup, Weezer.

A member of Romance Writers of America for fifteen years, now, she's the President of an American Christian Fiction Writers chapter. She's lived her own Happily Ever After for over thirty years.

Can I man and a woman be friends? That was the question, the author tackled in this book. As Bo was deployed again, Rita decided to return to her church roots while he was away. She met Glenn, who had lost his wife the year before. Two lonely people turn to each other as friends and only friends. But as time goes on, Glenn discovers, he is ready to love again but not with Maggie so he goes to the early sermon. But doesn't tell Rita and when she learns what he has done she went to his house and talks to him. He tells her his reasons and for some reason as she is leaving they end up in a kiss. She doesn't know what has come over her but what I kept seeing was these two people were going to church but they weren't turning to God for guidance. They go their separate ways and when Bo comes home Rita tells him what she has done. Bo did a lot of thinking and when he came back to Rita, they talked and was going to work on their marriage. Bo realized he had been taking Rita for granted and hadn't told her how much he loved her or how attractive he still was to her. Their marriage became stronger. They go to Pawleys Island for Jasmine and Dax wedding.
As Jasmine and her mother are walking along the beach, they meet a man in a long gray coat and boots. It made Leslie uncomfortable and he then disappeared. When she got home she told her husband Hank about it and he said she met the ghost of Pawleys Island. When there was a storm coming, of someone saw him their house would be spared. She didn't know there was a storm coming but there was and her house was spared. Hank was helping the neighbors repair their houses but his and Leslie's had no damage at all. With the storm, planes were grounded and Dax and Pedro weren't able to fly out. But they all turned to God for guidance and the storm passed and there was a rainbow. People were starting to arrive and Dax and Pedro were able to get a plane out and arrive in time for the wedding. I guess it was my time to discover this amazing author. I saw it was written a few years ago and I guess God guided me to find this author and this series now. I have enjoyed it, learned some things and enjoyed seeing the way God worked in peoples lives. I would recommend this series and I think will reread it again and maybe again. It is a reminder of what happens when you turn to God and when you forget. I think I needed a reminder and might need one in the future sometime.

Not sure when I got this book or how. Well written book with a strong Christian emphasis. I love this in a book versus eluding to faith in Christ. Great book for all who love a great story. I enjoyed this book very much and I’m sure you will also.

This is the end of a wonderful series. I blew through the six novels in about four days. I just could not put them down. I will miss these wonderful friends and their great stories. I highly recommend the entire series.

It was sad to see the end of the series.
All the characters were reunited and we got to catch up on their lives.
Laurie Larsen has painted a beautiful picture of life on Pawleys island with the storm and the ghost bringing an added dimension.
As always we see God honored throughout the book.
I look forward to the next series.
