I think it was a OK read and the book ends in 79% of the file.

"Giving your all to someone only leaves you alone picking up the pieces."

==>sex ow:
"push Cutie Pie and her friend off me and climb out of the bed. The sheets are a tangled mess on the floor at the foot of my bed along with all our clothes. Damn, we must’ve had a good time."

"My dick comes to life with the naked chick in front of me."

"Pussy is pussy and I don’t need the kind of pussy that becomes permanent."

==>dumb heroin:
"I haven’t felt a man’s touch in eight years?"

==>double standard:
"The way she’s kissing me now had better not be from any other motherfucker or I’ll have to gut him."

==>kicked to the curb because the Club comes first:
"knew to earn my patch, I had to show the club nothing came before being a Rebel. I also didn’t tell Kenie that all those years ago when I let her go. I know I passed the fuckin’ test, I have the family and the cut to show for it."

==>He is not an alpha male in my book:
“You left me when I needed you the most.”

Nice introduction to this series. There was a good balance between MC action and the second chance romance between DJ and Kenderly.

I'm looking forward to more Ruthless Rebels.

Shamed is a novella, the first book of the Ruthless Rebels MC, by Chelsea Camaron and Ryan Michele.

I love both of these authors. They both have great writing styles with action packed storylines. I crave their new works when available.

Shamed sets the stage for a new promising series. It's backdrop is a small country town in Alabama. The Ruthless Rebels MC runs the town as a 1% club. They are accepted and feared all the same. The series appears to be based on second chance love.

DJ and Kenderly. They had a past of young love and promise. Their present is anything but that. They've been apart, yet they are both still in the same small town and have avoided interaction for the past eight years. DJ as a patched MC brother and Kenderly barely existing as her mother's care taker.

Shamed is a novella so it was a quick and enjoyable read. As with most novella's, I was wanting more. I loved the premise of the story and would have loved to see more development and connection between DJ and Kenderly. The authors referenced their shared past and conflict and then introduced the new conflict; which brought the two together again.

Camaron and Michele introduced the MC family with the foundation set for strong alpha males, fast moving storylines with plenty of action and conflict mixed with true love. Shamus is next up in Scorned.

I am a huge fan of these authors, so when I saw this was a collaborative effort, I was very excited. Unfortunately, it didn't work out the way I thought it would. I thought this book was WAY to short to get all of the information they packed in to it expressed. There were many editing and timeframe issues. For instance, she went on and on about how she used to have friends then after her dad died, her friends would reach out then eventually stopped because she kept blowing them off. THEN, later on, when she was furnishing her new home, she said that she never had friends even before her dad died. Which is it? It was just to rushed, I am not a fan of a novella, and this is totally the reason why. It could have been an incredible story that was cut way to short.

I noticed this whole series seems to be novellas, I don't see more of this series in my future.

I liked this story and would have given it a better rating except for all of the typos and obvious lack of spelling knowledge. Words like pliers were spelled plyars. There were several instances of that sort and it was enough that it became irritating. I don't understand how that happens with authors that have written this many books, but they obviously need a better proofreader.

I don't know if I liked it or not.
I enjoyed the MC part of it and I liked Dixon but somehow it fell a bit flat for me. I don't know if it was because it was so short or what, but somehow it didn't work for ME!

I couldn't connect with the female character. She annoyed the crap out of me and I think maybe that's why it just didn't work for me.

I will try the next one though. I Feel that because the story was so short maybe in the next one you will get to know the characters a bit more.

I have enjoyed several of Chelsea Camaron’s books and am somewhat familiar with Ryan Michele’s so when offered a chance to read the first book in a new series collaboration I jumped on it.

I knew going in that both these author’s write gritty books. No wimpy weekend bikers here, these guys are the real deal and act accordingly. They are raw, uncouth, and like to get down and dirty. I prepared for some of that going in. What I wasn’t prepared for was Logan, the hero, to act like one huge douche-nozzle. I mean, seriously, he was just a jerk.

Eight years ago, right after her father died and her mother imploded, Logan sacrificed his relationship with Kenderly so he could join the Ruthless Rebels. He always intended to get her back, but he basically left her hanging for years. At this point, I was pretty much done with Logan. Supposedly she was the love of his life, and he left when she was at her lowest.

Kenderly had been stuck for those eight years. Because she had to take care of her mother, who needed some serious mental help, she lost her job at a bank and worked the night shift at the local gas station. I’m not entirely sure why she didn’t have her mother committed during those years, but she just kept the status quo, never digging herself out.

Bad things happen and Kenderly and her mother are targeted by a rival club. Logan finally decides to it’s time to claim his woman. What ensues is explosions, gun fights, and lots of between the sheets action for Logan and Kenderly. Things wrapped up rather quickly in the end which was a bit of a letdown.

I liked the second half of the book much more than the first even though it was rushed and a bit choppy. When I read the last page, I was torn on how to rate it. The book was okay but it wasn’t what I wanted it to be. I am chalking the problems up to first-in-series-itis and will likely continue to the next book to see what happens.

Rating: 3 Alpha-jerk Stars

Kenderly has a huge heart, and will help anyone in need at the expense of her own life. She's now taking care of her mother, who hasn't really gotten out of bed, unless forced, since her father died. At the same time, the love of her life broke up with her, so now she's alone, working the overnight shift at a gas station, in order to take care of her mother. Eight years later, all of a sudden, the man who broke her completely, rides back into her life, but she's not interested in having the little heart she's put back together, destroyed for good. Dixon James Cartwright, aka DJ, is a member of the Ruthless Rebels MC, and living life on the wild side. He never got over his Kenie, the heart he broke, and he's tried to talk to her over the years, but she's not having any of it. That all changes when he finds out that she's in huge danger, now he's done letting her ignore him. But will she trust him enough to protect her, and the family she has left?

Let me start out by saying, THIS AWESOME STORY IS TOO SHORT, AND I NEED MORE NOW! I LOVED every minute of this fast paced story, and obviously, couldn't get enough! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chelsea Camaron, and Ryan Michele's brilliant writing styles separately, but together?! I dub them The Dynamic Duo! Let me tell you, there was never a break in the story to show that their are two authors writing together, as they meshed perfectly! Twists and turns are around every corner, and there was never a dull moment, so let's just say, f-bombs were dropping in every direction. Flammable chemistry EXPLODED into a panty destroying ball of fiery flames, so yeah, no panties are safe! Not to mention the hilarious dialogue (DJ's idea of flossing) had me laughing so hard, I am now laying on heating pad to help my tummy muscles recover. What a fantastic start to a new series that I'm already addicted to! CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK, AND I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! (YES I'M ENDING WITH YELLING MY FEELINGS!)

Between 2.5 and 3. stars. While I love certain books that both of these authors have put out, this story fell short for me. There were so many things I could point out that struck me as inconsistent. A mother that instantly recovers from years of mental problems was really not believable. The h was to willing to take the blame for everything. She put up a weak initial challenge to the H who popped back on the scene after 7 years absence but usually ended up saying"it's my fault." I didn't like the H. While he was sweet at times, he was too arrogant at others. I can't say I liked any of the characters and the story was far below what I usually expect from these two authors. Glad this book was on Kindle Unlimited.

This was adorable but too fast. I wanted more!!

8 years ago DJ shatters Kenderly's heart when he breaks up with her just as her world is falling apart. She is left picking up the pieces to an extremely difficult life. But now she is in danger and DJ finally steps up to protect and claim what it his...her.

I love a good second chance biker romance. Usually my reads are darker but this one was just enough hard and soft.

Shamed is the first book in the Ruthless Rebels MC series and I really liked this novella. Yes I said novella but let me tell you it is filled with action, plenty of hot sex, and the start of a new MC series this this book whore is already loving.

Dixon “DJ” and Kenderly “Kenie” have history, one that broke Kenie’s heart and when she needed Dixon the most he left her behind. She hates him, seeing glimpses of him both hurts and infuriates her. DJ has tried to stay away from her but one night something happens and he can’t stay away any longer. He claims his woman, something he should have done so many years ago, and once truths are told, explanations are made I really wanted to punch him in the nuts but at the same time I could understand why. Kenie is stubborn, sassy at times and has the weight of the world on her shoulders; she needed to lean on someone and when she is forced to lean on Dixon you know he will make it right.

The chemistry between these two was explosive and I love that they got their second chance, too bad it took eight years to get there. Shamed is one I enjoyed and can easily say add to your TBR lists today!

Decent second chance romance, typical mc read, not heavy on mc part but more focused on DJ and Kenderly 's romance and struggles. Short read with Hea, light sexy times for mc read not descriptive scenes. Per ending seems a continued characters series and that's always a bonus.

I'm giving this story a 3.8 it was an interesting MC book mixed with a second chance love story mixed throughout. We learn about how Kenderly has basically given her life to helping her mother day to day and when she's not working. Dixon is part of the MC group and slowly we come to find out what happened with these two and their history shared. We go on a bit of an adventure if you will and the pace picks up. I liked how we're given a glimpse into other books a little bit past the 72% reading mark until the end. I wasn't expecting to be finished with book 1 at that point but I feel we were provided the closure necessary for Kenderly & Dixon.

Shamed (A Ruthless Rebels MC Novella Book One)
Ryan Michele and Chelsea Camaron
5 stars

Holy moly and good help us! What in the world do you do when you see an ARC on your Kindle written by Ryan Michele and Chelsea Camaron – you don’t go to bed .. you don’t quit until you turn the last page.

Dixon James Cartwright – that is the man on the cover who I cannot take my eyes from – I cant even peel them off the cover. Dear Gawd –

DJ gave up the one thing he only loved for the Rebels MC. It wasn’t supposed to be for eight years or even forever but its been that long and its seemed like forever. Kenderly is still living in her hell. She gave up her dreams to take care of her mother after her Dad died. The shell of a woman takes every inch of Kendri’s energy but DJ only watches from afar.

When DJ’s piece of shit mother Cora finds her way into Kendri’s home DJ knows he has to step in. Banger will come for her – its time for him to step in and take what he should have taken a long time ago. Heading there he just finds he might be too late.

I LOVED this book! How can you not love this book with these two putting the ink on the pages. If this is the start then I don’t want it to finish. This is a standalone per say for Kendri and DJ but there is a cliffy that will keep you wishing for January.

Shamus gives us his story in the release Scorned followed by Scarred and Schooled – I cant wait to see who shows up in those two books. There is a variety of secondary characters to choose from that would be perfect but who knows! It could be someone we haven’t even met yet!

I am so grateful for the ARC and the chance to read and review. Thank you for this and I cannot wait for the next. This is going to be an awesome series!

Shamed is the first book in a new series of novellas by Authors Chelsea Camaron & Ryan Michele. This is my first time reading either of these authors, but I look forward to reading some of their books on their own.

Kenderly and Dixon James "DJ" were high school sweethearts until he chooses the Ruthless Rebels MC over her and breaks her heart. Having lost her father and being the primary care giver for her deeply depressed mother, Kenderly has no life. That is until her job brings danger into her life; which also brings DJ riding back in.

Their story is a second-chance at love. Kendrerly was a strong sassy female character. But to me the star of this book was super sexy alpha-male DJ! I loved his dirty mouth and his strong need to protect Kendrely at all costs!
Honestly its sometimes hard to connect with characters in a novella. The story has to flow really well, otherwise it ends before I get a chance to feel that connection. With Shamed, I was almost there and then it ended. Also, I felt as if Kenderly gave into DJ way too quickly- I mean had it been 6 months to a year they had been apart, then I could understand- but this was 8 LONG hard years for her.
Overall, I think this was a good start to this series. I liked how the authors set up for the next book in the series, Scorned, which will be about Austin "Shamus" Fletcher.

Shamed is the first book in a new MC series by Chelsea Camaron and Ryan Michele. I have read both of these authors before and always love getting a new MC book, so it’s a win win for me!

Kenderly is leading a miserable life. She is struggling to make ends meet to be able to keep her and her mom alive. Her dad has passed away, and her mom is in a deep depression. She never gets out of bed or even cares that Kenderly is trying to keep them afloat. Plus, being dumped by her first love, Dixon James, her life is in a whirlwind.

While trying to take on even more than she can handle, she finds herself in danger, and the one man she never wanted to see again is the one to save the day. However, he is not sweet and innocent Dixon James anymore. He’s one hot, dirty talking biker DJ who will leave you drooling and begging for more!

As they are brought together to keep her safe, they both realize they never stopped loving each other. I enjoyed how dirty and sexy DJ was, and I understand why he broke her heart years ago because he had to put the club first. My only issue is I felt she accepted his apology a little too easy. Make him sweat it out and beg! With that being said, it’s a good start to a new series, and I love the lead-in to book two, Scorned, after reading this 4 star book. I can’t wait to get Shamus’s story!

Honestly, I'm conflicting about this book. I mean, the story isn't bad. I didn't had a 'WTF I did just read?!' moment. Which I think we all had once or twice after reading some books. Lol. So, this one is written nice. I just couldn’t connect with Kenie through most of the book. Or sympathise with her. She just irritated me. And not the good kind, that still will make you want more. I was ready to stop reading. But I pushed myself to continue, hopping that the connection, that click moment would come. It didn’t.

Honestly, if these two authors would be new to me, I would stop here with this series. But they are not. I read more then few of theirs books and I enjoyed them. So, I will give this series a second chance. Will these bikers be able to steal my heart? We will see how it goes.

Meet Dixon James Cartwright-DJ is a member of the Ruthless Rebels MC.
Kenderly his former girlfriend works at a gas station. They had a ugly break up.

Fast paced quick read with all the elements of a perfect MC read!
Passionate hot alpha male, strong no nonsense female, this intense and exciting series is off to a great start!
Kenderly and DJ are high school sweethearts, but their own personal hardships cause a rift that breaks them sort. He leaves to join the Ruthless Rebels MC and she takes primary care taking responsibility for her mom.
But when he returns 8 years later he wants her back to make her his.
Can second chance romance be rekindled after 8 years?
Can they let go of the past when she had to share him with his MC?

I love these girls but this book not so much!

If feels like they could have did more. The story was to short and way to simple. The sex parts seemed forced I know these girls can write some of the best mc series. But as a collaborative effort it felt way short. I did not care about the characters at all.

Editing really really sucks. So many sentences with extra words thrown in that don't make any sense. Issues with effect/affect, then/than. Just draws confusion, needing to reread here and there.

It was just too "easy" as a story. Never really got much into the characters. Not very well developed on that front.

This story basically was good, but it was lacking for me it didn't have a good flow. Then it kind of jammed everything in. The characters were great I liked them the club was a little lacking until the end when they all got together. I just didn't feel satisfied or compelled to want to read the next one.
