Wicked Throttle is basically known for our claims and all of us are aware of that fact. Well…if you want to believe the few silver members that hang around the clubhouse. Some still have their Old Lady and some have passed away, leaving them to live the rest of their lives alone. A Wicked Throttle heart connects only once, and beats solely for that woman

such is the case of his meeting with Maud. It was instant and it was hot. Being a part of an anthology, the short read was basically a set up for the rest of the series. Next up is Xerox, the Wicked Throttle's president.

-ow drama - a "club ho" puts her hands on him and he instantly pushes her away and tells her to back off. He tells her that Old Ladies are to be respected and if she didn't, she would be thrown out.

-no epilogue - I'm sure that this couple will be in future books but they aren't the main couple so I was disappointed in that.

**One thing don't like in a MC series is club whores. There were club whores in this book and other members of the MC were getting blow jobs publicly and screwing them (Quill and Beecher). I hate that because these are potential heroes in future books. Although the premise is, once they meet their "other half" they won't be with any others. I prefer to not see them being skanky manwhores in previous books.

Corban was the prequel in Esther Schmidt’s Wicked Throttle MC series.

Corban Winspear was the VP of the MC. He was the typical big, burly and gorgeous alpha male. Although he hadn’t experienced it yet, he was a believer in the Wicked Throttle legend: “A Wicked Throttle heart only connects once, and beats solely for that woman.” Maud Gilford was the owner of the local fruit and vegetable market. She was tough as nails but also a softie when needed.

Corban and Maud met in the opening scene with humor. They embraced their spark immediately. It was written with a single POV, Corban’s; which was great, but I loved Maud’s personality so I was craving getting into her head as well. Otherwise, Schmidt took us through the “getting to know you” stage pretty quickly.

All in all, it was a fairly light read with no drama. It set up the series well by a brief introduction of the MC members for a deeper dive as the series progresses. I’ve already read the next book in the series, Xerox (which I enjoyed), so I’ll go straight into Barlow next.

Corban is trying to rescue a puppy when Maud inserts herself into the rescue effort, effectively taking over. Corban was hooked just by her voice but when he sees Maud he knows she is meant to be his. He makes his claim, now is it up to Maud to decide if she will embrace everything Corban has to offer.

This was one of those books you sit down and get up once done. Loved this couple and I am so anxious to read next book, looks like it will be phenomenal. I am tickled to see another MC series coming from this talented author. Loved this one.

I freakn love Corbans book. The story started with such a funny moment. Even now I'm chuckling imagining the scene. It for sure draw me in from the first page. Love both Corban and Maud. They're sexy and funny together. A perfect combination.

I have no doubt, that another freakn great series coming our way. I so can't wait for Xerox's ride.

Great start to an interesting series. Just when I think I have found my new book boyfriend Esther adds in another character and I have to rethink the whole thing all over again. And having strong female characters is such a good change. It's nice to see that a female can be soft and strong at the same time.

Another 5 star THRILLING READ by Esther E. Schmidt!!!!

' Loved Corban and Maud's story and how they met was so sweet!!!!!!!! Their bonding with the whining pup, Elmo served to draw them closer together along with the legend that applied to the members of Wicked Throttle MC!

I read this book out of sequence but now I understand why Maci was so bent on giving Xerox, the POWTMC that black eye! LOL Even the black-eye didn't stop Xerox from going after that spitfire!
These men are just determined after only one glance!

“You give my soul the fearless comfort I’ve been seeking my whole life. You give me strength, hope, peace…everything you give me I intend to give back, tenfold.. I know it’s quick, babe…but this is solid. Now, I’ve already married you biker style by claiming you as my Old Lady…but I need your signature to be my fucking wife. That’s the only goddamn reason I’m asking.” And that right there is frustrating. I would have had all the paperwork in order if I didn’t need her consent. She’s mine and mine alone for the rest of our lives." - Corban

BTW, this story does end in a cliffhanger leading to Xerox and Maci's story which I already read!

This felt like a taste from what promises to be an amazing MC series! There is no cliffy here, but you will definitely be left wanting more. Xerox can't come soon enough!! Corban is your larger than life, tough MC VP. He's sure the legend that runs in the club is just a story, although all previous generations are proof that when members of the Wicked Throttle MC find their other half they know it at that instant and never let go. That is until he sees Maud and instantly knows that she's the one. Although moving a little fast, this book is a great introduction to the series. Loved the writing style and all the different elements added. Looking forward to where this series is going next.

I’m going with 3.8 on this story. Corban and Maud are great characters and I love the chemistry they share right off the bat. For me personally everything moved at such a quick pace. Writing style wise it was perfect, my interest was kept throughout but the story line itself seemed a bit fast. I do enjoy reading a good soul matching love story and when you make it an MC one-sign me up. I am curious as to Xerox and his story, I will absolutely be reading more from this author.

Short, mc-lite, insta-love with alpha hero going mine-mine-mine and a virgin heroine who apparently gives the best blowjobs ever.
So this is like all the sweet tropes combined but I liked the writing and Corban was a reasonable biker and no cheating at all as he pushes ow who tried to hug him. No angst here, just biker love all around

I read this in the nuts about you anthology. This is an insta love story and I like everything insta :) I was entertained by how they met and loved that even if it is insta, the h is strong and not some meek, shy lady. She knows what she wants and she wants him. There is no push pull, they embraced their attraction and it was very fast actually but since it was said that once a wicked throttle member finds "the one", that's it. No cheating, no om and ow. There was a club whore but she was put in her place. The start of the story of Xerox was there and we get to see the other members of the mc who I'm assuming will get their own books. So yeah I got to read them being with the club whores and it's not a nice picture to have because I will then think of that when reading their stories. Oh well, it is an MC after all.

Overall, it's a good introduction to the series.

I definitely would have to say Esther E. Schmidt is my Favorite Author. I have not found a book that I haven't loved by her. Esther E. Schmidt did a Fabulous job on this book. The story is well written. This story is short, sweet and sexy. Loved Corban and Maud. They are perfect together. The chemistry between Corban and Maud is off the charts sizzling hot. Love how possessive, protective and obsessed Corban is, and how sassy, yet sweet and feisty Maud is. I thought it was cute, and loved how they bond and fell for Elmo. They are a great pair. This is a great story. I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend reading this book. Great book :) Thank you, Esther E. Schmidt. Great work :) 5 Stars!

quick easy read, insta love. sweet and sexy. looking forward to the rest of this series (6/4/17)

5/1/18 - reread prior to reading xerox and have decided to up the rating to a five. the story is pretty simple but i absolutely love the dynamic between the main characters. Corban is an over the top alpha type and so full of himself and Maud is sassy and kickass and stands up to him gaining his and everyone else's respect. great set up for the rest of the series. really enjoyable read with some great one liners

This is a great start to a promising series. A quick read, a teaser, to a series I'll certainly want to read.

Corban is a member of the Wicked Throttle MC. When Corban meets Maud he knows she is the woman for him, the woman he wants to marry.

I thought this was a lovely fast paced read. I read in one sitting. Loved it. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

Corban is the Vice President of the Wicked Throttle MC (also best friends with Xerox, the President of the MC; known each other since adolescence) meets his woman, Maud, when he's trying to rescue a puppy and gets his hand stuck in the process, lol. In comes our heroine, Maud, who's full of sass yet somewhat innocent. Sparks fly between these two especially as they both decide to be mommy and daddy to their rescued puppy, who Corban named Elmo, lol.

Corban knew the moment he was a goner for Maud, and declared her his to his MC and to her. He wasn't going to let her go and made her his old lady, which was rare because the new generation of Wicked Throttle MC didn't have any old ladies, only other old timers had one and the ones who lost them, never loved another woman. It's like a myth in this MC: "WICKED THROTTLE IS BASICALLY KNOWN FOUR OUR CLAIMS AND ALL OF US ARE AWARE OF THAT FACT. WELL... IF YOU WANT TO BELIEVE THE FEW SILVER MEMBERS THAT HANG AROUND THE CLUBHOUSE. SOME STILL HAVE THEIR OLD LADY AND SOME HAVE PASSED AWAY, LEAVING THEM TO LIVE THE REST OF THEIR LIVES ALONE. A WICKED THROTTLE HEART CONNECTS ONLY ONCE, AND BEATS SOLELY FOR THAT WOMAN." Many of the new generation don't believe in this but maybe they'll start to after seeing their VP, Corban fall head over heels in love with his Maud ♡

There's trouble brewing already and next up will be Maci and Xerox's story, which involves Nero's nefarious intents towards Maci, her younger brothers and the MC. Hope, we get to see Maud be pregnant in this one because Corban was itching to start on their own family and get his woman knocked up :)

Awesome lead-in story to what I can safely say is going to be an amazing new MC series by Ms. Schmidt.

Corban is the VP of the Wicked Throttle’s. They are typical bikers who work, play and love hard. The club is mostly made up of younger blood but at one time the elders spoke of the club’s legend “to love and claim what is rightfully theirs at first site”. But the youngsters don’t believe it. So Corban is shocked and amazed when he meets Maud, the local fruit stand owner, and instantly just knows she’s going to be his “old lady”. But what about Maud? Is she of the same mindset or does Corban have his work cut out for him to convince her she’s his?

While Corban and Maud are finding their way we also learn of trouble brewing in town. A local “dealer” named Nero is stalking Maci (a friend of Maud’s) and corrupting her 4 younger brothers. What happens when Xerox (the MC Prez) and Maci square off. Will she listen or stomp on the club's idea of help?

This is a fun, sexy and exciting story that will leave you breathless and wanting more and trust me this reader is certainly looking forward to the next book in the series. 2 Thumbs Up for a great 5 star read, one highly recommend!

Oh wow, Corban and Maud, I need more - I love these two. This is a short, sexy and great start to the new series.

I'm not usually an MC fan, however I've recently discovered Esthers books and I'm loving her style.

From the very first few pages, there's that instant chemistry, humour and danger all rolled in together. I love the feisty females who don't take any crap from their men.

Now I'm eagerly awaiting Xerox's story.

Esther has done it again with this story. Wicked Throttle MC has a legend among its members. Once a member finds the other half of its soul there is no going back. The younger members don’t believe it but then again none of them have fallen yet. Corban is the first from the younger members to fall and he know that the legend is true as soon as he sees Maud. Maud doesn’t judge and what you see is what you get with her. She is a perfect match for Corban. Corban is a hot alpha biker male. He shows Maud a different side of him. Maud catches Corban in a comprising position trying to rescue a puppy and this is how their relationship begins. Maud owns a local corner store and is an amazing woman. This book is a short in an anthology and leads into the first full book perfectly. I can’t wait to read the first book in this series.

Corban Wicked Throttle MC is absolutely awesome, couldn't put it down, Iwas like addicted to this book once I started it I had to finish it. Freaking love Corban the big badass biker with a soft heart but only for his old lady Maud, now she's absolutely perfect for Corban cause she's kinda badass herself, she has Corban wrapped around her..... Well just read it ,it truely is as very very good book, I swear Esther's writings gets better every time she puts out as new book, her words just flow so perfectly and her characters are strong . the best thing is there always seems to be humour thrown in. Cannot wait for Xerox!!!!!? Congratulations zEsyher for an other well written book.

I really enjoyed reading this as much as I have enjoyed reading all of the other books I've read by Esther. I am really looking forward to getting deeper into the series just like I am always looking forward to reading more about Areion Fury and Broken Deeds MC's. I really enjoy Ms. Schmidt's style of writing, her character development is great and I feel like I can truly connect with the characters in her stories. This story-line has a nice flow to it, especially for basically a novella, and I really look forward to getting into the first full-length novel of this series. I think she has done an amazing job giving us a tasty-as-he!! look at what is yet to come!

Not bad for a short story. I enjoyed it! I loved the beginning part when Corban gets his massive arm stuck in the drain to save the puppy "Elmo". That made me laugh hysterically!! I mean seriously big biker dude with big arms getting stuck, then naming a dog "Elmo", who would've thought! What was even funnier was when Maud finds him and has to rescue him and the pup lol! I love the chemistry between the two of them as well! It was instantaneous, passionate and hot! They clicked very well, I thought! I wouldn't mind reading more of this series! Great job!

I actually read this as part of the anthology, but it was so good that I wanted to add a separate review. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the first of this MC to fall and boy did he fall! I am never let down by any of Esther E Schmidt's books, they always deliver everything I want in a great story that keeps me reading and always wanting the next book before she can finish them. Whether you buy the anthology or buy this on its own you will not feel it is wasted time, I did enjoy the other books in the set and a few stood out but I must say this was my favourite of all of them.

I really enjoyed this book since page one, you are laughing and wanting to read what happens next.
Corban is sweet,sexy and possessive. And maud is a badass chick not a doormat which I love.
We also get introduced to the club as a whole and the storyline for the next one. I can't wait to read the next book and see what happens next!

Loved the instant chemistry between Corban & Maud & how they both fell for Elmo, the puppy and each other at the same time. Quick, fun insta-love between Corban & Maud, and there's an adorable puppy named Elmo, too! It starts off w/ some LOL moments & there's a serious side, too. It's a good introduction to the series, I think. I'm not a fan of the graphic descriptions of what's going on w/ the club ho's, but that was really the only downside to the story for me. I enjoyed the characters & the banter & the sexy times between H & h were well done. : )

for a love at first sight....with humans and canine the world changes. corban is a vp with wicked throttle mc., Maud is a independent girl. this opposites attracts story is so cute it's believable. this is a sure thing for a one click. very well written and I can't wait for the rest of the series. you will love these characters. I'm leaving a honest review for a book I asked to read
