The Winchester witches have a knack for finding trouble. It doesn’t always come in the form of mysteries, though. Enjoy Hemlock Cove’s favorite band of merry witches as they embark on a trio of fabulous fantasies that take them to several different worlds that stretch the limits of their imaginations and magical abilities. This multi-book set includes the first three books in the Wicked Witches of the Midwest fantasy series. Witchy Aunt Tillie is on a rampage, and when Landon threatens to confiscate the wine she intends on selling at an area festival, she curses everyone into a fairy tale book she wrote when her great-nieces were small children. To make it back home, Bay, Clove and Thistle – along with the men they love – have to make their way through a treacherous fantasy land that doesn’t follow any standard rules. They’re old fairy tales with a modern and witchy twist, and to survive the night the witches have to overcome Aunt Tillie’s twisted mind. A Witch in When Aunt Tillie is injured during a freak storm, Landon and Bay sit vigil by her hospital bedside and are drawn into her memories. It’s fun and games at first as Landon gets a glimpse at the formation of the family he loves, but things turn dire toward the end when Aunt Tillie wants to stay in the past. The three of them need to work together to return to their time … but they’re going to need a little help from Winchester family members past to make their ultimate escape. Make a Things are going well in Hemlock Cove and the Thanksgiving holiday is looming large. Before that happens, though, things go wrong (of course). It seems the new wishing well donated to Hemlock Cove by a local shop owner is granting wishes, which makes everyone happy – until those wishes go bad, of course. Between Hollywood stars being locked in basements, flying marijuana fiends and a young teenager trying to make Bay his girlfriend, the witches have their hands full as they force people to reverse wishes and find a way to turn off the magic that empowered the witching well.

When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail.
Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.

Another winner

I've read all of the Wicked Witches of the Midwest series and have thoroughly enjoyed every one of the stories. I can't wait to read the next book. I've even set a reminder on my calendar so I don't miss it. This is one series I will read over again. The characters are fun and interesting, the stories keep you interested and I love the "snarky" humor. Please keep them coming.

This one love 1st and 3rd story

Loved and read all the books in this series but for second one in this site. Ended up skimmimg it half way thru , if I was Tilly in it I been cursing Landon, his character was just too talkie about nothing or like very horny teenager in it that just got on my nerve in it but was great with flashes of the past and instead of trying to save Tilly Landing ran his mouth about nothing to fill pages .last one was fun plot with wishing well.

I really love the Witches of the Midwest books

They make me laugh ... they make me think ... and they include “lessons” ... they cheer me up when things are getting a little bit too much ... Thank you ... It’s a good thing to escape into these books.

I have been looking for this ever since the characters in the "mainstream" books alluded to Aunt Tillie cursing them into a book of fairy tales. Finally, finally, I was able to fill in those blanks!

What a way to give lessons! Using fairy tales to teach life lessons is an inspired way to do it.

Fun Fantasies

These are a nice change of pace, but I do enjoy the murder mysteries more. A great series for those of us who love paranormal humorous mysteries.

I loved it.

It is a fun story with fun people. Of course, it isn't going to be the great classic of the age; but it is a good read.

Wicked Witches of the Midwest Fantasy #1-3
At least all three of these have the same narrator… Even if it isn't the same narrator as the original series.

Once Upon a Witch (Wicked Witches of the Midwest Fantasy #1-3) – Started: 11-19-2020
1) Witchy Tales – Read: November 19-20, 2020
The whole gang is cursed by Aunt Tillie into a book of fairy tales. All set from Bay’s POV. Narrator: Lesley Ann Fogle. I can honestly say that I severely disliked the narrator. She had a weird accent and it irritated me all the way through the book. Not to mention, any voice other than Aris’s “Aunt Tillie” voice just sounds wrong on so many levels. It would definitely be better to read this book rather than listen to it. I hate it when authors change narrators in a series. Series are always best when the narrator remains the same throughout. Spinoff series, like this one, should also be included in that rule. The narrator has kind of a slurry pronunciation in her narration. Not quite a lisp, but there is definitely something unclear going on in her narration. It’s pretty irritating.
2) A Witch in Time – Read: November 23, 2020
Aunt Tillie is injured in a bad storm while in her greenhouse when a tree branch crashes through one of the windows. Landon and Bay stay by her bedside and inadvertently get drawn into Aunt Tillie’s memories when they fall asleep. Amazingly enough while they were in there, fighting to keep Aunt Tillie from staying locked in her own mind, Bay and Landon learn some things about themselves. Narrator: Lesley Ann Fogle. I still don’t like the narrator, though at least now she’s familiar so it’s not as bad as it was in “Witchy Tales”. She’s still irritating though.
3) Make a Witch – Read: November 27, 2020
Margaret Little pays to restore the town wishing well and Aunt Tillie curses it to grant the wish of the first person to make a wish (assuming it will be Margaret) and then have that wish go wrong. Aunt Tillie’s curse goes wrong and before they know it the entire town is inundated with weird happenings and mayhem ensues. Narrator: Lesley Ann Fogle. I appreciate the continuity of these three stories all being narrated by the same narrator, but I still don’t really like this narrator very much.

I’ve just discovered this novel from the first page and glued to the rest of pages. Most everyone has felt like an outsider at some point or had sibling issues or wished desperately for some special talent.
