Devereaux Aubert Peltier(Arcadian were-hunter, Bear) and Samia Savage (Dark-Hunter, Amazon)
The book starts at the time point after Mama (Nicolette or Mama Lo) was killed and Papa (Aubert) Bear i.e. her mate died and the Sanctuary is not our usual limani any more.
[Sanctuary is a New Orleans biker bar, where all the supernatural creatures can have a drink in peace and play some pool without killing each other. It is the place also where Dark hunters, Were hunters, Gods, Apollites and Daimons can hide if they are in trouble and get some medical help if they are injured.
The motto is only one: Come In Peace, Or Leave In Pieces]
Aimee and Fang are now the new bar management and the bar is still some kind of sanctuary, but not officially.
Dev is one of the quadruplet Peltier bears (with Cherif, Quinn, and Remi) and a bouncer at a paranormal bar. Now that he feels that this is time to change things (he never liked the life in the bar anyway); he meets Samia.
Samia is an ex-Amazon and currently a dark hunter (a blond Xena) and one of the Dogs of War.
Dev is the only creature that makes her feel peace and quiet inside her. Samia has psychometry so she can feel what everyone thinks and feels around her – except Dev. Naturally these two will end up together, although Dev really does not want to mate.
Our favorite bad Daimon and son of Apollo, Stryker, is after her because he wants to use her abilities in order to find out his father’s weaknesses.
A lot of things happen in the book that may take away the attention from Dev and Samia.:
There is Stryker and the new revelations about the Daimons.
There is Nick and his new relationship with Artemis.
There is more Thorn and his demons.
Nice adventure with the second member of Peltier bears that finds his mate.

I had a trouble making up my mind whether to rate this book 3 or 4 stars. The story started off strong but the thrill of reading began to ebb away somewhere around the second quarter of the book. Then in the last quarter, everything seemed to get back on the right track again, but alas, the ending just fizzled out.
It was a little disappointing because there was a good plot and interesting story in which I did enjoy a lot. BUT my major problem was the romance. It fell flat and I felt no chemistry between Dev and Sam. I don't see any reason why they were so into each other in spite of the fact that they'd just met and knew very little about each other. It was unbelievable that their feelings could grow stronger and deeper in such a short period of time.
However, Sherrilyn Kenyon does a great job writing the fight scenes as always. They are full of energy and excitement, and No Mercy is no exception. The best scene in this book was where Dev and Sam, and their friends were heading into a trap maze to get Hippolyte’s Girdle. I really did enjoy it and found myself rooting for them to accomplish Thorn’s task.
By the way, after weighing up everything carefully, I decided to give this book 3 stars.

No Mercy isn't the greatest book ever written but it was fun and for me that's good enough. No Mercy is book number 18 in the Dark-Hunter series, I think I read another book is this series years ago but I don't remember anything about it. I didn't need to have read the preceding 17 books to enjoy this book. Sherrilyn Kenyon does a great job of catching you up on what's come before it.
Sam is a badass, she's an Amazon warrior and a Dark-Hunter. She's spent thousands of years kicking ass and taking names but she's lonely(even if she won't admit it). Enter Dev a shape shifting were-hunter(I know its ridiculous) who immediately feels drawn to Sam. Together they must fight an unimaginably evil villain while fighting their feelings for each other.
This book is ridiculous and that's why I liked it. I thought it would be smuttier but it still had it's smutty moments. My sister owns the first 3 books in this series and I might borrow them in the future.

This was a decent instalment of the Dark Hunter series even if it was not one of the more memorable books in the series. As always the Dark Hunter Universe is a fun one and the story had a nice mix of romance, humor, action, and fun paranormal creatures!
I cannot say I was dying to get Dev Peltier's story. I'm not a fan of the Were-hunters as much as I am of the Dark-Hunters, Dream-Hunters, demons, or the Gods we typically meet in this series. That said, Dev proved as likeable as both his sister and his brother in law (Aimee and Fang) and his love interest, Samia, was one of the better Kenyon female characters. Samia was a Dark-Hunter and an Amazonian princess in her living days and could easily hold her own in the battles with her fighting skills and magical gifts. I thought that was fun! The more this series progresses the more I seem to prefer supernatural pairings over pairings with regular humans. It makes the backstories and abilities of both characters in the romance way more enjoyable.
Dev and Samia's romance was decent enough. They were an easy couple to root for and I felt like they were a good match for each other.
Outside of the romance we got to see more developments in the Daimons plans. We also got appearances from the likes of Acheron, Nick, Savitar, a host of demons, and Stryker and a few of his kids! Weirdly I enjoyed the bits involving the Stryker and his family the most. I hope his two kids get a book of their own at some point as they seem fascinating characters. Stryker has turned out to be a great villain in this series.
All in all I thought this was a solid instalment in the Dark-Hunter series. I enjoyed the story we got and felt like this book peaked my interest in a whole host of new characters which bodes well for the future of the series. This might be book 18 but there is plenty of life left in this series yet!

This book was about Sam, a female Amazon woman turned Dark Hunter who could not stand to touch people because she would be swamped with their memories and emotions.
Think carefully about your answer. You don't want to make the Amazon mad...
But, alas, she meets Dev, a shapeshifter bear who is also a quadruplet and a bouncer at a paranormal bar. (just your typical boy meets girl story). Luck would have it that Dev is the only person Sam can touch without getting any emotional feedback. It is like magic! She can finally be with a man.
Sound familiar?
Too bad she couldn't hook up with Eric instead of a werebear!
So, our bad guy, head demon-jerk who had his own book, Stryker, finds out that Sam can read minds and decides that he wants to capture her and make her tell him Apollo's weakness. He is still dying to kill daddy-dearest, even if it means ending the world. But, then Thorn decides to kidnap Sam instead to "protect" her. And, by protecting her, he means holding her prisoner until Dev can bring him a mythical object that will take him running a gauntlet to get. So, Dev and friends set out to get this "golden girdle". mm hmm.. And, it involves getting to a magical place, running through a maze while being chased by killer beasts and the ground caving in around them, to get to the middle in order to fight the main boss and win the golden girdle. So, it's a Maze Runner/professional wrestling video game mash-up.
Ash: "Think of it like a bad video game...without the extra life points."
um,,,, if I win this thing, can we have it cleaned before I have to wear it?
So, there is a lot of defeating monsters and fighting demons in this book. And, that's pretty interesting, but the love affair was super fast. They were "Boom" in love within days of knowing each other.
There are glimpses of other characters that we have been curious about such as Cael, the Celtic Dark Hunter who turned Daimon, and Nick, who is now in a relationship with Artemis (maybe he will get some sympathy for Ash).
All in all, it was okay. But, I really don't care for this new series that includes Thorn and the Hell-Chasers, and it seems like everything is going towards that.

As a huge Dark-Hunter fan this one didn’t cut it with me. I was very disappointed. Again this one is nothing like the books pre Acheron. I wish if the books are going to keep up with this pace Kenyon would go ahead and finish the series.
Again you get a lot of new of new characters you have to keep up with like this series doesn’t have enough then there is the added of all the different new gods and new demons. Like does anyone know who Lazarous is? There is so much Mythology going on that I forget who is who in a year, so anyone really needs a guide in each book of who is who.
What I was most disappointed with is the sex and romance you get a couple halfway scenes and you remember the mating scene you get with the were- hunters? Well its not in this one, so you miss that too Garr……
Then there is the lack of detail in a lot of different scenes. It would leave one that just picked up this book with out reading the rest of the series going WHAT! This book left me questing more than I should.
Then there is Nick when is Kenyon going to let him grow up and take what happens to him as life not someone else fault..
Now as for Sam and Dev they are very good together if their romance was let grow it would have been fantastic. Sam and Dev were fun the way they would cut up with each other but again you really don’t read them as much as you should its everyone else.
Stryker is as always up to no good, so you get lots of action and plenty of blood. I just hope book twenty will be better. I really feel like the Dark Hunters has been put on the back burner.

Acheron even make a statement in this book that “Nick may one day kill him“. But what gets my goat the most is I know Ash has had a bad past life those of you that read his book knows what he went through and he never wanted a D-H to know about it, now all the sudden things are popping out one is Sam now knows Acheron was a whore. It just makes me feel like Kenyon is going to somehow take Acheron down and its not going to be good and I not going to be reading that one at all.

I really have nothing good to say about this book so I will not say much.
I hated the heroine. Truly pissed that the author gave such a suck ass bitch to a hero I really liked. Dev, the hero, has been a funny, sweet, protective big brother bear to Aimee (Fang's mate) and I have loved him in every book he was in. But in this book he totally lost his self respect and put up with this bitch who was constantly using him and kicking him to the curb! Sam, on the other hand, should have been a kick ass Amazonian Queen heroine. Instead she was a kick ass, whiney bitch who constantly mourned her dead ex whom she loved dearly. I get that in almost all of these books at least one of the MCs has a dead ex because they are so freaking old. But do I want to hear about them ALL the time? Hell no! Dev was so not her first choice. Heck she did not even like him. She was just happy she could not "read" all his thoughts so she could have sex with him without all his baggage. Maybe if she had let go of her ex at any point I could have believed in them, but nope.
Add to that her ex's brother () being in the book, and this was a recipe for disaster for me!
Oh and add to that and the story was ruined.
I read it because I am addicted to the series and did not want to miss anything important. Total waste of time. Nothing really important happened.
PS there was some alluding to Nick being more powerful than Ash some day. I will state right now, that is this author kills off Acheron I will haunt her in this life and the next for wasting so much of my time on these books!

Wow, that was a short read. I just started it and BAM, it was done. Another installment in the Darkhunter World, has one of the bear shifters, Dev, with a broken heart lust after a Darkhunter, Sam an Amazon woman with a ? Oh yeh, a broken heart. Yes it is the theme of the series but Ms. Kenyon always ads a little twist of the knife in each book that separates them even if they are basically the same. This one is action based, with less shagging and drooling than past books.
I really liked the action packed adventure but I missed the connection time with the couple. I never had that "omg tingle" of anticipation waiting for them to bond. Was it the characters or the lack of drooling lust time ? I don't know. I'm off to the next book.

Devereaux Peltier is a Were-Hunter; Samia Savage is an Amazonian Dark-Huntress. Logically, they know they should never be together. However, logic flies out the window when desire stirs deep inside them both...
Dev and Sam meet when she comes to his family's bar, Sanctuary, for the night. Immediately, they hit it off and get along great. There's sexual awareness between the two and, after a steamy kiss and barroom brawl, Sam leaves the bar, leaving a note for Dev with an enticing invitation: No strings. No commitments. Just hot, sweaty sex. Being a guy, and attracted to Sam, Dev acts on the invitation, thus beginning their journey together.
During that first encounter at the bar, Dev learns that Sam has the power of psychometry (she only needs to touch something or someone to know their emotions and anything about them) and that he is the only one her powers don't work on. However, Dev and the rest of his family are the not the only ones to find out. Medea, Stryker's daughter and second-in-command, found out and shared the news with her father. Naturally, Stryker comes up with one of his infamously diabolical plans: kidnap Samia and use her powers to learn how to destroy Apollo and break the Apollite curse.
All number of Daimons start coming after Sam and Dev stands by her side to protect her, along with her Dogs of War friends. They viciously defend against everything that comes at them, but in one instance, it's not enough. Dev is left injured and Sam is taken by a demon out for revenge against her. Following that, she is "saved" by Cael, a Dark-Hunter-Hellchaser-Daimon combo, and his wife, Amaranda, a Daimon Hellchaser, effectively landing her in the world of Thorn, the Hellchaser leader and a man that pretty much everyone knows nothing about. It's at this point that Sam comes to a shocking, terrifying, and exciting realization: she loves Dev. And she has to let him go to keep him safe.
Meanwhile, Dev and Fang meet with Thorn, and he tells them the one thing that will convince him to leave Sam under Dev's protection: he must retrieve Hippolyte's girdle. Three months later, Sanctuary gets an impromptu visit from the illustrious Savitar. He has decided to reinstate their preternatural sanctuary status, as long as they promise to stay out of trouble. Before leaving, Savitar "shocks" Sam and Amy, making them fertile so they can have many babies (and thoroughly pissing off the Fates on top of it all). Then, Sam and Dev live happily ever after.
Yet again, Sherrilyn Kenyon has created a book that I not only love but want to jump inside. I've always wished I could be a part of the Dark-Hunter world so I could meet characters like Ash, Dev, Sam, and the other Dark-Hunters and Were-Hunters. So, with this novel, I continue to have that dream and eagerly await the next installment.
Ever since his first appearance in Night Embrace, I have been in love with Dev Peltier and I have been waiting impatiently for his book ever since. So, I'm sure you know how glad I am that it's finally here. He has to be the most adorable thing ever. His need to protect Sam and his clear adoration of his family made me melt and wish that I was his mate. The fact that he wanted a family and was willing to adopt instead of making Sam become human again exhibit a strength of character and love that I'm sure not many men have. Not only that, though, but he was a fierce warrior, willing to do anything for those he loved, and a good friend. My heart broke for him when Sam saw the memory of the night his brothers died and his mother shouted cruel words to him.
Sam was an interesting character. I loved her sense of humor and how fierce she was. The fact that she was willing to put her life on the line to protect Dev, and protected him at all costs, made me love her. And, while she was totally badass, I was expecting more resistance from her. I mean, she is one of the infamous Dogs of War, known for her thirst for killing, and was the Amazonian queen during her human life until she was killed and saw her family butchered before her eyes. So, my question is this: Shouldn't she have been more reluctant to get close to Dev, like all the other Dark-Hunters before her have been with their significant others? Not that I'm complaining because I love her and Dev together, but it just seemed like she didn't resist Fate enough.
If I thought Nicolette Peltier was a bitch before, I was sadly mistaken. I swear, I wanted to kill the woman all over again after I found out she told Dev that she wished he had died instead of Bastien and Gilbert. I was happy to finally have the mystery of that night completely revealed but I could kill Nicolette, and the rest of the kids except Aimee, for that night. It also explains how Aimee and Dev are so much closer than they are with their other siblings.
I thought that it was very nice to see a softer side to Remi. I've always secretly had a thing for him. Who doesn't love the surly, defensive type? Just kidding. A little bit. I've always known that there was another side to Remi, one that no one knew about. So to learn about that was thoroughly exciting. Although my heart bleeds for what turned him into a grouch: the woman he loved mistakenly slept with Quinn, one of Remi's four identical brothers, and the two ended up being mates. I started crying when Dev revealed that little tidbit. So, I hope my adorable Remi gets his own book so he doesn't have to suffer anymore.
I am still intrigued by Thorn and don't really know what to think about him. I'm not sure whether to like him or not...
Stryker, you sexy bastard, how can you make me love you and want to choke you simultaneously?
Nick Gautier, you still drive me crazy. I hate that he's sleeping with Artemis. I hate that he hates Ash. I love that he got Sam's soul for her. I love his sweet side. I just love Nick and he frustrates the hell out of me. I am really interesting in seeing how his Malachai powers are developing and affecting him.
There was not nearly enough Acheron in this book for my taste, but we can't have everything we want, now can we? However, I was very happy to learn that there will be a cutie little Ash baby running around soon, as Tory is pregnant.
I loved the first meeting between Urian and Medea, and I look forward to seeing how their relationship is going to develop in the future. And, by the way, what the hell happened with Urian? I distinctly remember Ash telling him to go to New Orleans and watch Sam, yet that never happened! Lastly: Who the hell is Medea's mole in Sanctuary?!
It was really awesome to see a bunch of the other Dark-Hunters, too, in this novel. And the fact that they were Dark-Hunters that, as of yet, have not had a strong presence in the series intrigued me and drew me to them even more. Also, I loved how much my cutie Fang was in the book and look forward to even more of him in the future.
Finally, I was very excited by the appearance of my lover Savitar in the book. However, like with Ash, there was not nearly enough of his gorgeous presence. All I have to say is, the man better get a book of his own and it better be fantasmic because that's what he deserves. Oh! And I loved him even more for reinstating the sanctuary status of Sanctuary. If I hadn't been in the public domain, I probably would have shouted "YES!" while pumping my fist in the air, but I contented myself with smiling like an idiot and performing the previously mentioned idiocy in my mind. I love you, Savitar!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I totally ate it up. I couldn't put it down and I know I'll be reading about my adorable Dev many, many, many more times to come.

There's sexual awareness between the two and, after a steamy kiss and barroom brawl, Sam leaves the bar, leaving a note for Dev with an enticing invitation: No strings. No commitments. Just hot, sweaty sex. Being a guy, and attracted to Sam, Dev acts on the invitation, thus beginning their journey together.
During that first encounter at the bar, Dev learns that Sam has the power of psychometry (she only needs to touch something or someone to know their emotions and anything about them) and that he is the only one her powers don't work on. However, Dev and the rest of his family are the not the only ones to find out. Medea, Stryker's daughter and second-in-command, found out and shared the news with her father. Naturally, Stryker comes up with one of his infamously diabolical plans: kidnap Samia and use her powers to learn how to destroy Apollo and break the Apollite curse.
All number of Daimons start coming after Sam and Dev stands by her side to protect her, along with her Dogs of War friends. They viciously defend against everything that comes at them, but in one instance, it's not enough. Dev is left injured and Sam is taken by a demon out for revenge against her. Following that, she is "saved" by Cael, a Dark-Hunter-Hellchaser-Daimon combo, and his wife, Amaranda, a Daimon Hellchaser, effectively landing her in the world of Thorn, the Hellchaser leader and a man that pretty much everyone knows nothing about. It's at this point that Sam comes to a shocking, terrifying, and exciting realization: she loves Dev. And she has to let him go to keep him safe.

This book brought us back to the Dark Hunters after a many book deviation, plus it had Were hunters, then the Hellchasers, Stryker and his awful Daimons, even more demon species, etc. I don’t know how Sherrilyn Kenyon keeps track of it all!
I really love the Werehunter books and another bear-were book, yay! I’ve always liked Dev and Aimee best of the Peltier family so I was excited to read Dev's story. Dev is smoking hot, I kind of imagine him like Chris Hemsworth. Sam is an Amazon, a super warrior, part of the “Dogs of War” an elite group of Dark Hunters we’ve just heard about for the first time. Of course with Dark Hunters involved tortured pasts are a given. Sam lost her family to betrayal, and Dev had to deal with his racist mother and her dislike of his Arcadian heritage - I so continue to have very conflicted feelings about her.
Overall it was a short sexy ride that went by super fast. Dev and Sam made a sweet, badass yet low-key couple that I loved seeing together.
Some irritants – Thorn. That guy is so annoying. Another uber powerful douche canoe. Of course Stryker and his evil wife are always such nasties I really hope they get their comeuppance one day, despite moments of decency, he’s still awful. Acheron still leaving his DH in the dark about so much! I still don’t understand why he keeps even his “elite” in the dark until necessary. And yeah Nick, as usual is the biggest whiner and blames Acheron for everything . Luckily Savitar is still cool, I was a bit unsure after the last book. When is his book?

**** 4 Sexy Teddy Bear STARS****
Este es el libro 18 de la serie y me parece que Sherrilyn Kenyon ha hecho un gran trabajo ya que todavía me mantengo enganchada con altas y bajas pero más altas que bajas eso sí.
El libro anterior es el que menos me ha gustado de toda la serie que es el de Fang e iba con muy altas expectativas y créanme que me decepcionó, pero este libro NO volvíó a meterme al redil y seguir disfrutando, las tramas se van renovando al igual que la combinación de las parejas.
En esta ocasión tenemos a un Were con una Dark Hunter, una mezcla bastante prohibida pero que me gustó mucho.
Dev me sorprendió bastante y en buen plan, es bastante cómico, me reí mucho con él y sus divagaciones es como un niño grande todo un teddy bear y Samia toda ruda una amazona y este osito la conquistó por completo. Su poder sobrenatural es que le fue dado es bastante cruel ya que ella sólo con tocar las cosas puede sentir todo dolor, tristeza, miedos etc., etc., y cuando me refiero a todo es todo comida, cualquier objeto inanimado animales, excepto con Dev que era inmune yo creo que por eso se complementaban tan bien, él la hacía sentir normal
En cuanto a la trama principal se me hizo un poco rara porque empezamos con un problema y luego la solución o la ayuda se convirtió en otro problema de la nada y yo me quedé ¿Pero qué pasó con lo otro? Ve tú a saber
No sé ustedes pero ya me estoy cansando un poquito con el drama de Nick, su protagonismo y odio injustificado hacia Ash y cuando hace un comentario sarcástico lloro de nostalgia porque extraño al viejo Nick come back please 😭😭😭

That's my first reaction.
Damn!
I loved this book! And, while hyperbole wants to spew forth of "I luv it, I luv it, I luv it!" I'll endeavor to resist. Dev and Sam were two very strong, beautifully written characters that I've always liked from previous books. They were such an amazing couple, and in reading their story, you could truly feel the emotion between the two. They didn't strike me at all as being paper thin in character or personality.
I often joked that it would've been so hilarious to see Dev mated to someone his total antithesis (someone like Maggie from Unleash the Night), I know that such just wouldn't work. Dev definitely needed a woman who could take his debonair charm and give it back to him tenfold. Sam more than meets that criteria.
Sam, who is a heroine that I just adore to pieces, is really a unique contradiction. While she is a warrior through and through, she is not cold nor unfeeling. Such is more than fitting since her powers are psychometry and empathy. Even still, she's a woman who more than is Dev's equal.
The plot of No Mercy was so fascinating! I know a lot of readers will probably complain that it was "shifty," or even a bit bumpy, containing plot points that deviate left before turning right, but I think it was a fascinating display of how life really does work. Sometimes, the simplest path is not A to B, and occasionally, road bumps do happen.
I do see No Mercy as being a jumping-off point into a bigger story, and I'm definitely okay with that! This plot did focus, primarily, around Stryker trying to utilize Sam's powers to break his people's curse and/or kill Apollo. It was fairly basic on its surface, but when looking at this book from the perspective of the series in its entirety, I'm sure that No Mercy is going to be a lead up into a much bigger story. Maybe that's Redemption, maybe it's a novel on down the line. Who knows? Who cares!
The book was absolutely amazing, written with classic-Sherri style that any fan should gobble it up and want more!

After reading Bad Moon Rising, I was ready to give up on the Dark Hunters series. I mean, after 20 books everything seemed the same, and I had no idea where the story was going.
Thank god (and the hot guy they chose to play Dev on the book trailer) I decided to give it one more chance, and boy did I had a great time.
No Mercy tells the story of Dev, one of the sexy bear quadruplets in charge of Sanctuary, and Sam, a Dark hunter (huntress?) so fierce, she’s member of the group known as the Dogs of war, the cheesy name they gave to the deadliest fighters among the Dark hunters guild.
The story is pretty much the same PR I was expecting, so what did it make it such a great book?
Sam and Dev. I loved pretty much everything about them. From Dev’s child-like wittiness and insuperable sarcasm, to Sam’s more down to earth personality and her confidence in herself . Whenever these two came together on a scene, I was already suppressing a smile, knowing something good was about to happen.
Best of all, their love story was something natural and beautiful, full of sexy, tender moments and LOL worthy, funny dialogues.
The action was OK, and even when it wasn’t the main theme of the story, it built an interesting plot that I guess is going to develop more in the next few books. I really want to know more about Nick, who I used to think was an ungrateful, immature prick, but came as a pretty respectable human (?) being on this one, a guy who’s going through a lot and is trying to handle it as best as he can.
I really loved this book, here’s hoping, Sherrlyn keeps on the good track with this (most of the time) amazing series.

Whenever these two came together on a scene, I was already suppressing a smile, knowing something good was about to happen.
Best of all, their love story was something natural and beautiful, full of sexy, tender moments and LOL worthy, funny dialogues.
The action was OK, and even when it wasn’t the main theme of the story, it built an interesting plot that I guess is going to develop more in the next few books. I really want to know more about Nick, who I used to think was an ungrateful, immature prick, but came as a pretty respectable human (?) being on this one, a guy who’s going through a lot and is trying to handle it as best as he can.
I really loved this book, here’s hoping, Sherrlyn keeps on the good track with this (most of the time) amazing series.

This, for me, was a 4 star..possibly a 4 1/2 ....I LOVED it! I'm not really sure what some have meant by there being too much world building or too many characters going on...I didn't think that there was anymore than past DH books..my feeling on that... is that if Sherrilyn Kenyon is planning on continuing this series for sometime yet..which it sure seems to be going that way...yay!!...it is kind of neccessary for her to introduce all of these new characters..for possible future books...yes!...it can sometimes get confusing...but I've felt that way before w/ other DH books...and it may sometimes take me a bit to "catch on"..but I eventually do...and it's never been anything that has kept me from enjoying this series. Is there a little bit less romance in this one than her earlier ones?..sure..but there was enough that I didn't feel cheated in the least. Dev was absolutely hilarious!..I never really gave him much thought in past books..but he has quickly become a fav. of mine after this book...and Sam was a worthy "h" for him...a really good match in every way...it's not often that we get to read about a female Dark Hunter..so that was kind of a fun, diff. twist. I also loved that we got to see a little bit of everyone from past books...Ash..who I will ALWAYS LOVE!, Nick..who needs to get a clue!..BUT i'm def. looking forward to reading his book someday!, Urian..who I would really like to see get his own HEA!, Cael..who I completely forgot about!...Stryker..who I REALLY DON'T like...but I guess is a "neccessary evil" (tee hee)...Fang..who is always fun to read about...and can I just say that I LOVE Savitar..he was not featured a whole lot in this book, but I cannot wait to read "his" story!! We also got introduced to a few new characters who I'm DEF. looking forward to reading more about..especially Ethon! I have to admit that I will ALWAYS have a little bit of a "soft spot" for the DHs because it was one of the first "adult" PNR series that I'd ever read and I can honestly say that it is a HUGE reason that I've become so addicted to this genre of books! In my opinion...No Mercy was just as good as all of the rest of the DH books...it had EVERYTHING that one comes to expect from Sherrilyn Kenyon...great action/suspence, comedy, romance..and some good sex! :)
I would highly recommend that this book NOT be missed if you are a fan of this series!!

OMG! Just amazing! I loved this installment, although there were 3 or 4 I liked much more. But to be the 5th in a series with more than 20 books in it sounds pretty amazing to me,lol.
The plot was amazing, so much better than the previous installment about Fang, even though it was with the same characters and in the same place. Dev was a super hot and entertaining hero. And Sam was the ass-kicking heroin I just love to read about. It could have been better in the romance department but the plot was so well made that I didn't care that much.
"Living was okay,but it wasn't the breaths people took that measured a life. It was the moments that took those breaths away that mattered the most. And Dev did that every time he looked at her. Naked or not"

I fucking LOVE Dev!!!
I fucking love him so much!!!
He is so sarcastic and honest. No games no bullshit. I love him!
I also really like his other brothers. I'm specially curious about Remi. Poor Remi... having to see the woman he loves with his identical brother... it hurts so much. I hope Remu gets his own book and that he finds another love that will make him really happy.
If Nicolette wasn't already dead I would kill her for what she did to Dev! Fucking bitch!
My poor Dev... and all the others specially the remain twin (I'm not sure about his name). It hurts.
I'm finally catching up to the story and Acheron and the Dark-Hunters finally know what Stryker has been doing.
Was much as I hate Nick I'm really curious to know how things will turn up with him... at least until the part where he kills all my babies and destroys the whole world.

Me ha gustado mucho, igual que su anterior parte.
Sigue con ese aura de misterio, acción, amor, amistad , lealtad, venganza, etc. , aunque, esta vez, desde el punto de vista de Dev Peltier (Un personaje que me ha encantado y con el que me he reído cada dos por tres. Además de haberme sorprendido barbaridad) y de Samia ( Una amazona que me ha impresionado por completo, tanto por su ferocidad a la hora de defender aquello que ama, como su valentía y superación, por todo aquel dolor que sufrió y por el cuál se convirtió en Cazadora Oscura). Ambos son admirables.
El hecho de que en los libros de esta saga se mezcle tanto lo sobrenatural como la mitología griega, con lo mucho que me gustan las dos, creo que ha hecho de esta saga, algo muy original y único, que la autora ha sabido llevar muy bien sin que resulte inverosímil.
Así que con todo lo dicho estoy deseando seguir sumergiéndome en esta saga y conocer más profundamente al resto de personajes, como por ejemplo a Aquerón, que me tiene intrigadísima!

Was this book actually written by Sherrilyn Kenyon? I feel like I was gipped!! It read like more of an action packed, Indiana Jones type book than a PNR. Where was the romance? Dev & Sam only got together a couple of times and That.Was.It!! Where was the mating/bonding scene?? I waited the whole book for that!!
That's not to say that I didn't like the book....I did. In fact, I would rate it 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed Dev and Sam and all the humor. I enjoyed getting to know more new characters and hearing about the old ones. I think we got more than a normal dose of Ash, Nick and Savitar. I'm so glad that I read Nick's YA book before this one because I think otherwise Nick would have made me sick. Now I'm trying to pick up on even more clues between him and Ash.
I would definitely recommend reading this book if you are going to continue on with the series. There was just too much information to miss it. Dev and Sam were really sweet together as well.

Really wish I could have read this on my iPod, but the price is too high. Thank G-d the library comes through when publishers get too greedy.
After finishing I am really thankful for the library, because I would have been pissed at paying money for the lousy formatting (huge margins) and bad editing. Several sentences with the wrong word, so they didn't make sense, and even grammatical errors (I hear the e copy was just as bad).
Not sure what to think about this book. On one hand it is an improvement over the last few books since Ash's book. It tried to return to the Dark Hunter format with two great characters, Sam and Dev, I would have loved to read a complete story about. Unfortunately the book seemed more focused on introducing countless new characters that new books in the new series could be written on than focusing on the plight of the main couple. It wasn't a story with a clear focus; it was a scattered recounting of various impending world doom that left me with a negative feeling.
:: Maybe it is just me, but with the world in such bad shape I want to read about hopeless scenarios that can be overcome and end happily--not open ending stories of impending doom that has to be bigger than the last book! I read to escape.
My other major problem with the book was characters acting uncharacteristic from their personalities in previous books. If I've read several books where a character acts a certain way and then suddenly they are acting different just to open up a new plot line it comes off as unrealistic to me.
I'm not sure whether to give this book 2 or 3 stars. I loved the characters Dev and Sam and I would have loved to read about them and their relationship developing. Unfortunately the 352 page book only spent about a 100 pages dealing with them, the rest the time it was off in other scattered directions.
A lot of little things were off in this book. Things happening in scenes that came out of nowhere (cops show up shooting when there is no signs of a crime when they arrive), no explanations for things happening (if you don't have perfect recall of the last 18 books in this series expect to be confused), numerous continuity issues, and a lot of things left unclear. For example is a "jolt of electricity" suppose to imply immortality or the ability for species unable to conceive to conceive?
In the end it was disappointing and made me glad it was a library book. I'd of rather paid to buy an anthology that contained a short story of Dev and Sam.

Ler Sherrilyn Kenyon é sempre um bálsamo para a alma. Cada vez que pego num livro desta autora tenho praticamente a certeza de que só o irei largar quando o terminar. Sendo o décimo oitavo livro que leio deste universo, não deixo de me admirar com o facto de não me cansar, de todo, com ele. Claro que há sempre uns mais viciantes que outros, mas como só tenho lido um por ano (acho que é mais ou menos a esse ritmo que têm saído cá em Portugal), acabo sempre por me derreter um pouco com cada história, com cada casal que nos vai sendo apresentado. Mesmo não tendo sido o livro que mais me fascinou (confesso que o estado em que o história global está pareceu-me meio desequilibrado), Implacável traz-nos Dev e Sam, dois seres que não é suposto conviverem, que não é suposto sequer envolverem-se, mas que foram divertidos de acompanhar.
Penso que as leitoras de SK concordarão comigo quando digo que sinto diferença entre os livros pré e pós Acheron e que isso tem tido um pouco de influência na forma como vivemos as histórias seguintes. Enquanto no pré Acheron havia sempre um mistério enorme no núcleo central deste universo, agora a autora parece construir uma espécie de mistério semelhante à volta de Nick, mas não é a mesma coisa. E isto, na minha opinião, acaba por tirar um pouco de protagonismo aos casais centrais. Sempre tive muita curiosidade com Dev e a Sam é daquelas protagonistas "cá das minhas", mas houve alturas em que achei que a fragilidade estrutural do rumo da trama central teve demasiado impacto na intensidade com que costumamos viver o romance principal.
Dev e Sam têm ambos histórias sofridas, é nisso que Sherrilyn Kenyon é mestre. A escritora consegue criar sempre circunstâncias em que existem um sofrimento e uma solidão enormes que só se equiparam depois à paixão que surge e que parece consumir tudo à volta dos envolvidos, tal como também consome o/a leitor/a. Neste caso em específico, o dom de Sam (que é basicamente ler a mente e reviver memórias de pessoas e objectos em que toca) foi um catalisador para acelerar o envolvimento entre os dois, não por ela conseguir ler o Dev, mas precisamente pelo oposto. Não vou revelar mais, até porque se nunca leram nada desta série, este não é um bom livro para começarem, e se estão a ler esta série, mas ainda não leram este livro, também não vos quero estragar o imaginário por antecipação. Só posso esperar pelo próximo, desejando que a autora traga um pouco mais de sentido e coesão à trama principal.

Muy entretenido, en la onda de los anteriores. Dev y Sam hacen una pareja, divertida, explosiva e intensa. Son "tal para cual" 🤣😍🥰. Ambientada esta vez en Nueva Orleans retoman el tema de daimons y cazadores oscuros asi como la historia principal que avanza poco a poco.
PD: Me gustan las subtramas que Sherri va intercalando en los libros para no cargar las historias e ir avanzando entre dioses griegos, cazadores oscuros, daimons, demonios, vampiros, .... todo un elenco "variopinto" pero con una trama interna común.

I would really rate this as a 3.5. It was good, but not great.

What I liked:
1. I loved Dev's character. It was nice to find out that there was more to him than the smart ass, wise cracking guy/shifter he appeared to be in prior books. I thought his back story was great, especially his complicated relationship with his mother. I also liked how his prior relationship with Nick was remembered.
2. Sam was a great heroine. She was tough and feisty, yet feminine. She was the perfect match for Dev.
3. I also liked how both Dev and Sam valued family and understood the importance of it.
4. The news about Ash and Tory was a welcome revelation, especially considering all that Ash has suffered in the past as well as his love of children.
5. I absolutely love the evil couple - Stryker and Zephyra. They are so bad, you love to hate them. I can just picture them sitting around plotting the destruction of humanity - hilarious!
6. It was fast paced. I read it in one sitting.
What I didn't like:
1. Nick! I am really getting tired of his whining. I get it - he's upset about his mother, but after spending some time walking in Ash's shoes (with Artemis) I would think that he'd be a little less antagonistic towards him. Ash never chose his life's path, yet he dealt with it. Nick made a lot of the choices in his life and death, so MOVE ON!!
2. Too many gods, demigods, etc. I thought once Ash's book came out and his life was straightened out, we would focus on Savitar (a character I LOVE). But then Jaden was added to the mix. Then Thorn came along. No wonder all the gods don't get along - there's too many of them!!!
3. Too many new characters were added. We have invested a lot in characters such as Julian, Kyrian, Valerius, Zarek, Vane, Wren, etc, but they are rarely, if ever, mentioned. Now we are supposed to care about Ethon and Chi?? We're not light switches!!!
4. The mythology is getting out of control. First we had Dark Hunters and Daimons/Appollites. Then Were Hunters and Dream Hunters came along. Now it is a free for all with Charonte, Galu demons, Dogs of War, Arcadians, Kattagaria, Sentinels, Amazons and Nick and Fang are in a class by themselves.
5. The romance/sex was sadly lacking in this book. There was so much time spent on world building that the "romance" in PNR took a back seat.
Good and Bad:
1. I like that some of the old characters made an appearance, such as Cael and Xedrix. However, it has been so long since we heard from them that it is hard to remember their story. SK would have done well to work in the back story of some of the older, but less seen characters in some way to remind us about them.

บรรยากาศของดาร์คฮันเตอร์อันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ในเล่มแรกๆหายไปเกลี้ยงเลยสำหรับเล่มนี้ :( เชอร์ริลีนเธอเลือกที่จะขยายโลกในนิยายของเธอให้ใหญ่ขึ้น แต่เธอไม่สามารถที่จะควบคุมเนื้อเรื่องให้จำกัดอยู่ในกรอบที่จะไม่ทำให้เรามองว่ามันชักจะออกทะเลไปกันใหญ่แล้ว โดยเฉพาะเรื่องของสไตรเกอร์ที่เราว่าชักน่าเบื่อไปหน่อย กับ conflict ซ้ำๆเดิมๆที่เอามาเขียนวนไปวนมาไม่จบไม่สิ้น นอกจากสไตรเกอร์หาทางแก้แค้นอพอลโลและสุดท้ายก็ต้องเฟลทุกที คือเราคิดว่าปมที่ทิ้งไว้ในดรีมฮันเตอร์เล่มที่แล้วมันน่าสนใจมากๆ ไม่เข้าใจว่าทำไมถึงกลับมาเล่นที่ปมเดิมอีก ?

จุดที่เราขอชื่นชมก็คือ ... บทสนทนาของเดฟที่มีความเป็นเอกลักษณ์และมุกตลกๆ ทำให้เราเผลอยิ้มออกมาเป็นบางครั้ง นอกจากนั้นแล้วเรายังชอบช่วงการผจญภัยแอ็คชั่นที่เพิ่มรสชาติให้กับหนังสือเล่มนี้ได้เป็นอย่างดี ตอนท้ายนิคพระเอกมากกกกกก ...
