Talk about interesting it sure is plus it was little different this whole book is like mid evil times when the sacrifice the virgin so the town is safe, Ms. EA keeps you going. This is definitely a good read.
Margila Fallosi is human, living on the Planet Phomentina in a small village that once-a-year have the lottery to sacrifice a virgin to the Raveniss (the Dragons) Margila is not the Harvest Princess any longer lucky for her she won the lottery.
Soon she will be tied up to a post, soon to be dead, she'll be eaten by the dreaded Dragon. Margila was in for a very big surprise.
Tanak is a Raveniss which is the name of the Dragon Shifters. He basically won the lottery too and he was happy as can be to win his mate. But she's stubborn and she refuses to be anything at all with his dragon of course he stubborn too and refuses to untie her because she could run away and on top of that he says it's the law until she says she will mate him he will not take her back to the Northern Kingdom his home. Yep Tanak refuses her yet entices her. Whose going to win this tug-of-war stubbornness?

I wasn't sure about this book at first, it seemed to have a bit of an historical feel to it. I don't usually read historical romance but I read on. It starts in a village and a festival for a sacrifice to the dragons, this had the historical feel until people from another planet are overheard discussing the elimination of the dragons to a villiager and where to return with more space shuttles to attack to the dragons. The contrast didn't make sense to me but was not an issue. Other than that the story was good and the characters where good. It had romance, sex, shifters, action and adventure. This was different than the Far Hope Series which was more adventure, action and not as much romance.
I thought it was a good read.

Margrila comes from a small village with medieval level technology. Her people (humans) previously tried to kill of the dragons inhabiting the planet, now there is an uneasy peace, one of the conditions of the peace is that the village sacrifice a virgin each year. Margrila is chosen this year and is left on a mountain for the dragons to find.

Enter Tanak the dragon who gets the sacrifice, only he has no intention of killing her, she's to be his mate.

From there things move quickly, too quickly for me, I found it hard to believe that Margrila could change her world view as quickly as it happened.

But it's well written and the characters are nicely developed, I just wish it didn't move forward so quickly.

I really enjoyed how the story unfolded and how you as a reader changed your view on who you were reading about, The characters were pretty well developed and a good pace to the book. Even though this is a Sci-Fi romance you felt like it was on earth which helped you connect more with the story. Margila is a strong person who knows what she wants and won't go against that so totally matched for Tanak as he is also string but also loyal so they keep you wanting to know where things will go between them. Some good nail biting moments that keep you turning the page. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

I liked this story. It was not what I had expected. It was very well written. It only took a couple of pages to get into the story. Margila was strong girl. She respected her family and the beliefs of her people. She was in love with young Marcus. Then the night of the Harvest Festival she was chosen. Her world was completely turned upside down. Tanak is strong and caring. His people have been hunted into almost extinction. When he finds Margila, he takes care of her. His hope is that she will become his mate. It was interesting to read how they overcame their obstacles. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.

I didn't really care for this one. not only is the description deceptive in how long it is (it says it's like 700+ pages) but the story isn't really about Tanek at all... we don't get his view point or how he's feeling about his new bride/mate at all. I also didn't enjoy the intimate scenes where their private areas were described in a number of... let's say colorful ways. yeah I really don't think anyone needs to use that many metaphoric adjectives during a sex scene. it also made u wonder why, if they are so advanced as to be able to leave the planet, they didn't have thinks like running water/showers... so yeah I think this one could have been better.

If you like dragons, sacrificed virgins, and a battle with spaceships this is a great story to check out. I loved the Far hope series so when I had a chance to try her new novella series out I had to read it. This new series is more on the sexy steamy paranormal side but I fell in love with the basic premise of the series. I liked that the love scenes were not chapters long and supper steamy. I was hooked from the first chapter. Add I little mystery and action... My honest review is if you like very sexy stories try it out as parts of it made me laugh.

This story is great.. The plot and storyline are very well written and keep you highly entertained throughout the book, Margila's village has been sacrificing virgins to Raveniss Dragons for a long time and now it's Margila who has been chosen as the sacrifice. Tanak is a dragon that comes for Margila as they learn more about each other and grow closer they are attacked by Major Bloodkist and humans. Will Tanak be able to keep Margila safe or will they both perish in this attack.

My Opinion

This wasn't a good book. I couldn't stand the heroine. What good does writing about a heroine in an adventurous situation do just to have her be a whiny b#@&+. I cared nothing for her or what happened to her. The village she comes from was so messed up. As she was sentenced to her fate they began to rejoice. Then her dumb butt joins in the festivities. If I was told I would be sacrificed they would need SEVERAL people to hold me down. Those extra stories at the end couldn't make up for this lame story. I do not recommend.

A waste of time.

Thank god I borrowed this book with my KU membership, if I’d paid for it I would be raging right now.

DON’T READ THIS BOOK.

It’s lame. There’s nothing more to say about it. The story is lame, the characters are lame, the plot-holes are lame. I’m convinced it was written by a fifteen year old with no talent whatsoever. Everything just sort of happens, why? Because why not.

This book is a weird mix between medieval and sci-fi but really badly done, makes absolutely no sense.

I love the book the story iscwell writen, once i started to read the book i had to finish it.
I love the mix of almost mid evil period with the future. It has mystery, humour and heat all in one.
The meeting of two diffrent groups of species and there way of dealing with their diffrent histories and finding love is a great story.
Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Interesting twist on the dragons taking virgin sacrifices. But the main question is "who really is the bad guy?" A planet that has two races on it who have been at war with each other for a long time. A few interesting twists are thrown into the story. Just wish it was just a little longer. The ending feels almost on fast forward. Will definitely read more from the series though.

SACRIFICE. Tanak is the first book in the Star Fall series. It can be read as a standalone. There is violence and sex. The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author did a great job of explaining the settings what each side is fighting for. This is a slightly different take of a classic story of a young woman being sacrificed to a dragon. I received a copy of this book from the author and chose to leave a review for other readers.

I enjoyed this new series. It has an interesting take on an premise you have seen before regarding sacrifices. There is romance and action and it keeps it all interesting. I am looking forward to reading more books in the series to see what is next for them all.

I loved this story. Lots of surprises. It keeps you reading and it is very good. It has excitement, suspense, love, a very hot alpha dragon. Lots of tense situations and jealousy. I highly recommend it. I won't ruin the story by telling you. You need to read it. As I said it is very good and well worth reading. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.

Dragon Shifters are cool. Sacrifice comes in many forms. Love is a wonderful thing.

Margila comes from a poor village. Tanak comes from a beautiful village. It is his turn to take a virgin sacrifice. Margila has been told horrible stories but no one from her village knows what really happens to the woman sacrificed. What a love story.

A sexy Dragon shifter. This was a fun and sexy read. At first I was like ok how is a dragon going to mate with a person. Obviously not thinking on my part cause he shifts lol. The whole sacrificing a virgin, people trying to destroy his kind made this Sci-fi Romance even more fun. Wonderful book

Tanak

I have not seen such a messed up book in a long time. Never did find an ending to any story just kept jumping into another couple chapters of another story. I can not recommend this book as it is. Serious changes need to be made.

Thrilling

Had me from the start, thrilling and gripping unbelievable action. The most intense romance was almost a buffer to such action. Good read to get your blood pumping.

I am giving this one four stars because I think the concept is interesting.  A place where the townspeople “sacrifice” a virgin to the Raveniss (dragons) every year to keep their town safe.  They tie her to a post and leave her there for the dragons to retrieve.  This particular year Margila “wins” the lottery and is to be sacrificed.  She can’t believe it when she is left alone to her fate.  But is her fate really going to be all that bad?

I am not going to ruin the story for you. It is a short one, but sometimes that is all you feel like reading.  There will be more in the series so we will get to find out what happens to the Raveniss and the human girls that are sent to them.  I won’t say it ended on a cliffhanger, but there is definitely more to the story.

I did have to giggle at some of the descriptions of the sexual act.  I will leave them to you to discover.  I received a copy of this book from the author.  My review is my own.

I voluntarily read this story for an honest review.
Really i begged. I have no shame when it comes to reading.
I found this to be a fun read. Its a short story of of shifter dragon and human female. But what i find intriguing about it was how the auther mixed genres like a blend of teas. A little romance here, abit of fantasy there and a touch scifi to top it off. Mmmm. Delicious!
I believe this is the first I've ever read from this author. I can't wait to find out how this series is going to grow as E.A. James develops this world. Great job. 👍👍

Although the plot and premise is good for this book, it somehow falls short of expectations. I enjoyed the interaction between Marigila and Tanak, the way she came around was a little too weird. Personnally, I don't know why he had to hide his people from her. She either accepted them or she didn't. She was dead to her people anyway. She could have gone straight to the city and learned about the city, made her decision and lived as Tanak's wife or servant.  Tanak waiting for her to make a decision put all of the Ravenis at risk. They were tracking him and he shouldn't have returned to the city, but then there wouldn't have been that battle scene. You would think that with starship power, the Ravenis would have had some type of communications system, considering how the people on the planet lived. Don't get me wrong, I liked the story. I just found a lot of flaws. But then when it comes to science fiction, I can even find something wrong with George Lucas!
