This book takes place in the 1860's time period in the Utah Territory. It tells of some of the fears and trials the Saints had because of the army stationed in the area. These things were interesting and parts of history that I hadn't known. Roxey is a girl trying to figure out which young man to marry. It's not a gripping novel.

this book is okay. it is an older LDS fiction, very predictable. The setting is in the early 1850s. The most interesting was what was going on in the valley in that time period. The living conditions, Johnston's army etc.

A little LDS History lesson thrown into a novel. The story began ten years after the Saints got to the Salt Lake Valley. I was familiar with some of the trials they faced but not all. It was a good story.

This is a fun little young adult LDS fiction book. It talks about the choices of love, marriage, and sacrifices to get to the temple.
