Kalpatta Narayanan (born January, 1952) is an Indian novelist, short story writer, essayist, columnist, and a poet of Malayalam literature. He is known for his novel, Ithramathram and a number of poetry anthologies and other literary contributions. He is a recipient of several awards including Basheer Literary Award, Ayyappan Puraskaram and the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Literary Criticism.

പി കെ രാജശേഖരൻ്റെ സിനിമാസന്ദർഭങ്ങളോട് ചേർത്ത് വായിക്കാൻ പറ്റിയ, കേരളത്തിലെ സിനിമസംസ്കാരത്തിൻ്റെ ജീവസ്സുറ്റ ഒരു അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തൽ എന്ന പ്രതീക്ഷയിൽ വായിക്കാനെടുത്തത് കൊണ്ടാവാം, അത്രയ്ക്കങ്ങ് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടില്ല. ഭയങ്കര Rushed ആയി, scattered thoughts അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു പോവുന്നതുപോലെയാണ് ആഖ്യാനം. അതിനിടയിൽ നിന്ന് മിനക്കെട്ടിരുന്ന് മലയാള സിനിമ സംസ്കാരത്തിൻ്റെ അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തലുകൾ പെറുക്കിയെടുക്കാൻ തോന്നിയില്ല എന്നതാണ് സത്യം അല്ലാതെ അവ ഇല്ല എന്ന് തീർത്ത് പറയാനും സാധിക്കില്ല. എങ്കിലും ആകെമൊത്തം ഒരു Incomplete feel ആയിരുന്നു.
