Update of a book I had 25 years ago, trying to understand the disease which caused the 30-week delivery of my baby.
While it is possible to descrive WHAT happens, a quarter of a century later, nothing more is known about WHY (it is often called ‘the disease of theories’), much less how to prevent or cure it.
I hope research does find the answers sooner rather than later; it is still the leading cause of maternal death in the developed world, where infection and other complications have largely been overcome.
I recommend this book to anyone touched by this most perplexing of conditions.
