Saving Hearts

Rate this book
Michael Tate is an acclaimed Doctor that doesn’t necessarily like to follow his English noble family traditions. However, being a bachelor in his mid-thirties doesn’t help him much and he forcedly accepts to host a new guest that his family arranged for him.

Rose Lithgall is an unordinary Lady who would rather live a humble life than to enjoy the luxuries of a socialite. She wants to go places, see things, and most of all, help people. Rose is not allowed to spend a year in Thailand educating children but she negotiates the permission of her mother by accepting to go to Tate Manor for the summer.

What they didn’t count on was being inexplicably and immediately attracted to each other!!!

However, there is an important secret being vehemently held in the Tate family. A secret that might not only put in risk Michael’s nobility and inheritance but when they find out the truth, they’ll need to make a choice that will change their lives forever.

Will their passion be strong enough to save them?

Dr Michael Tate is a member of a noble British family. His mother is determined to get him married, and preferably to an equally noble lady. His mother invites Lady Rose Lithgall to summer at the Tate country estate and informs Michael as a fate accompli.
Lady Rose is in a similar situation except that she wants to do volunteer work in Thailand. Her mother only agrees to give her permission to go to Thailand if she spends the summer at the Tate estate in Michael's company.
Thus begins a journey of self discovery, but will it end with love between the reluctant couple? Read this book to find out.

Charity begins at home.

I absolutely loved the first story in this book, "The Arrangement". An original and enthralling story of love and loss, deception and angst, family and a love to withstand all time. Ellen Lane did a fabulous job of creating strong characters and interesting events. In addition several other stories were paired with this one that were very good as well!

This is a wonderful entertaining and interesting book to read and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The story covers the journey of two people to love and happiness. Michael Tate is a physician and unlike his friend Elias who is married to Cat (Their story is told in "First Love") wants no attachments. Rose Lithgall is a very feisty woman with a mind of her own and is quite happy being on her own. What you will find in this story is, drama, suspense, intrigue, interfering parents, does not stand on formalities, sexual attractions, secrets, untruths, adoption, family tree, Africa, cholera, stolen medicine, militants, tanks, a friend and sister popping up, going home, a proposal, acceptance, charity event, disruption, telling the truth to Rose, breaking up, Bangkok, not feeling well, malaria outbreak, ill, Michael following Rose, treatment, realizing Rose is pregnant, happy, emotional feelings and erotic scenes. The story-line is well thought out and written. The portrayal of the characters personalities are realistic with the feeling of desires, anger, fears and needs. I will in all honesty recommend this romance with a HEA to people who like to read a excellent romance.
