I have recently finished Collision by Leaona Luxx and I am at a complete loss for words over the truly phenomenal work she released as her fifth book. Collision is the third book in her Highway 17 series. The book revolves around Walker Pennington as he grapples with demons from a past that he is trying to keep buried. In order to keep those demons in his rearview, Walker imposes strict control over every facet of his life. Then, he meets Reese Morgan, a woman who is everything he has ever desired but feels he doesn't deserve. A woman who puts Walker's control in jeopardy because chaos surrounds her. Walker fears that every slip of his control brings him closer to the very thing that he hates most.

In order to tell you why I found Collision so exceptional I have to ask a question. What makes a good romance novel? Essentially the ability to tell an story that audiences' will find interesting or possibly even important. The author has to cater to an individuals unique tastes. While this question does not necessarily have a right or wrong answer, most would agree that in a romance novel, an emphasis on the strength of the characters, their relationship, and the ever important Happily Ever are pillars of the genre. A great Author tells a tale that is both interesting and importance. The storytelling should appeal to the masses, yet will speak to an individual's heart. Other qualities factor into the complexities of being an great author as well. These include the ability to draws a reader in deeper and deeper by layering the story, the character building, the intrigue and the passion that audiences expect. A great author bridges the gap between what is essentially a flat, one dimensional story -- including its hero and heroine -- and make it come to life behind our eyes. Moreover, great romance authors need to actually write the emotions so well that readers ability to relate through the complex emotions of the human psyche. So for romance novels, does the readers heart ache for the characters? Can we feel the sadness, joy, sizzle, etc that an individual author is describing? Can we picture the scene they are laying out for us? Do the characters have character traits that we love or despise?

Leaona Luxx exhibited all of these factors and so much more in Collision. With hashtags like #Buckle up, this is gonna hurt!!! and #Redemption floating around all over social media anyone would be intrigued. I was...absolutely so! Also, I have read Leaona Luxx before and loved her stories and characters. She has a unique ability to write a story that contains all the feels...to give me the chills and the desire to throw my Kindle all within the same book.

I can not deny that I went into Leaona Luxx's book with high expectations. But I have high expectations of any book I read. After all, I am a voracious reader, a blogger, and an Editor. All things that I will admit at times make my expectations ridiculous. With Leaona's work, I have seen tremendous growth in her writing from book one to book five. The editor in me see's how far she's come grammatically and with regard to syntax. To date, Collision is certainly her best work.

Readers will remember Walker from Still Creek, Changing Lanes and U-Turn, using her previous stories to lay groundwork for Walker's character. On the other hand, Reese Morgan is a new character to the Highway Seventeen Series and what a great character she is. This heroine is strong, sassy, and easily loveable. She has an immense sexiness all of her one, one that as a woman I see in myself. Reese has been through more in her life than many experience and is very, very easy to relate to as a woman. I can see her determination to succeed at her choose field as if it were my own. I argued above that we, the audience, need to connect with a character and I'm not sure that I could have handpicked a better heroine for Walker than Reese.

This story looks at issues that really resonate with readers like abandonment and abuse and the damage previous relationships and/or one-night stands can have on an individual's self-worth. I loved the plot twists Leaona through in...It made it IMPOSSIBLE to put down. If I had never read her work before, I would have immediately started one-clicking every title she had in her back stock. The intricate emotions represented: angst, love, lust, loss, etc. were almost tangible and the storytelling will absolutely resonate with audiences. These things, combined with Leaona's ability to tell a story that shows its importance while maintaining its reader's interest is why I feel so strongly about Collision. Leaona Luxx's Collision really nailed all the criteria for a truly remarkable love story. Bravo!!!

Walker Pennington struggles with the demons of a past that he tries to keep buried...but Reese is everything he has ever desired.

Every time his control slips and he allows Reese to get closer, Walker fights against the pull even harder.

When he finally allows his heart to lead him to Reese- will their pasts allow them to have their “happily-ever-after”?

Past relationships, abandonment issues, one-night stands, crazy abusive spouses...and a major plot twist to boot!! This book has all the feels!!!

Collision is Leaona’s best work yet!!!

This is walkers story and the 3rd book in the highway 17 series! Walker is Riley’s brother! Each book can be read stand alone but you should read them from the beginning! Walker is a arrogant jerk and Reese wants nothing to do with him but when they start working together and spending time will that change her mind! And will Reese show walker the true meaning of love? I laughed and I cried in this book I loved how Riley and Ava were in this book too! Loved this book and can’t wait to read more!

Reese and Walker Book 3 Hwy 17 Series
When you have trust issues from your earliest childhood memories of abuse, how do you learn to trust and love again-to let someone in and know your secrets?
When you aren't a size 4 and you're constantly reminded by family that you'll be alone unless you change-how do you believe it when someone says "you're perfect"?
This novel is superbly written, with all the emotions and I love the way she writes, pulling you into the story and making you a part of it. And the plot twist!!!!! This is Ms. Luxx's best novel yet! Don't miss out!
I received an ARC to read and review voluntarily.

This how book. I can't put into words how amazing it was to read. If you read Thayer and Hardy's book then you should definitely remember Walker. When Reese enters his life Walker is really thrown for a loop. Both of them come with their baggage but they find a way to stop punishing themselves for the deed of the past and look forward to a future. This book has the right level of angst and romance. This book was definitely worth the wait and I'm excited to see what's next.

4.5 stars! Must-read series!

*clears throat and hangs head in shame* I have a confession to make... over a year ago I read Still Creek and met Walker. I HATED him! Couldn’t stand him and didn’t care what happened to him (I even wrote that on my review). But then Mrs. Luxx announced his book and I was intrigued. If I have learned one thing about this author is that she is the QUEEN OF REDEMPTION! So I trusted my instincts, gave in, and I ended up LOVING Walker so much that I read it in one sitting!

This book was an awesome addition to this amazing series that I never want it to end! Leaona could write about their kids and grandkids and I would never hesitate on one-clicking cos her books are amazeballs! My feelings were all over the place. My heart kept clenching, but I couldn’t stop reading it. I loved Reese and Walker together so much! She was a thick girl, with insecurities and daddy issues, but didn’t deter her from being feisty, strong and independent. Walker (don’t get me started on him) was one swoony alpha that had me melting!

I’ve said it several times and I will say it again: Leaona Luxx is a hidden gem that if you haven’t discovered, shame on you! Don’t bump her books, read them NOW!

Before I started to read this amazing author I was not a really big contempt. Romance reader. This series has changed my mind in so many ways. The complexity of the characters is amazing and draws to into the storyline so deep that all the feels makes you have ugly cries, belly laughs and anger at characters all on one page.
You will keep reading ignoring everything else until the last word is read.......so just a warning...do not start unless you can read through in one sitting. Well worth a reread many times over....

Have you ever wandered what goes through an Author’s mind? I often find myself wandering this very question but after reading two very powerful books this week, I am left with the thought of I would go absolutely mad with some of the rampant thoughts that constantly go through their minds. Simply to have characters speak to you is a craft and then to be able to write those thoughts into words on paper to give us the incredible project of a story is a whole other craft. Leaona, you simply amazed me with the words in Collision. Collision wasn’t just a story though. It had depth to make you feel deep into your bones. It was powerful—grabbing you in ways you simply can’t comprehend. This story simply left me with no words to adequately describe it. It was that good—I was left speechless.
Collison is book 3 in the Highway Series. While you can read Collision as a standalone, I would recommend reading the other two if you haven’t already. Characters from the other two books play an adequate part in this one as well. To truly understand who everyone is and their parts in the lives of Walker and Reese…You need to read Changing Lanes and U-Turn. Some of the other characters in her others books, also play a role.
Walker----- What can I say?? I loved him hard. The depth of his heartache over his past and past choices—simply broke me in a way that I just wanted to reach out and hug him hard. You will love Walker-----simple as that. Walker’s past made him hard. Made him want and crave control in ways you can’t imagine. He simply needed it to function---or so he thought--- Until Reese walks in his life. These two “Collide” in a powerful collision that rocks them both. Reese is everything Walker has ever wanted in a woman and more but one he feels he doesn’t deserve. Reese’s life puts Walker’s control in a complex situation—because where there is Reese??? There is chaos!!!! Walker feels that every little slip of control she takes—will bring him closer to the one very thing he disgusts.
Reese is strong, sassy, and a woman you will love deeply. Her character here was astounding. She knew just what was needed to bring Walker out of his shell, to test his control, to bring out the vulnerability in him and simply show him that no matter what has happened in one’s life—anyone can overcome things and sometimes--- to be able to love in the future you have to forgive yourself as well as love yourself.

As a huge fan of Leaona’s and one, who has read all her books…..Collision is by far my most favorite and her best work. You can see the growth she has had throughout each book, but it is here in Collision all the words collide together, just like Walker and Reese, bringing you an unforgettable and touching story that you will feel deep for a long time.

An amazing read and an amazing storyline. I absolutely loved this book even when I wanted to shake the lead characters I loved it. Two damaged souls, an instant connection that one could only describe as magical. Their connection to one another is instant, but very soon the storm is going to come blowing in once they find out that they are opposing council on the same case.

Reese is strong, independent, smart, beautiful and confident in her work; it's her self image that she lacks confidence in and her self esteem is not very high considering the mother that she has. But she does have Alden as a best friend and he is constantly trying to get her to see herself the way others see her. Enter Walker, the overly hot, confident, sexy blond God who is broken and has imposed upon himself a punishment for things that have happened in his past. Together these two are fire and ice, oil and vinegar until they stop fighting each other long enough to realize that they are meant to be together. They each want the other, but with Reese's trust issues it's always a battle.

I adored this couple and the storyline is wonderfully written between the fights, the angst, the banter between Walker and his family, Walker and his client and finally Walker and Reese, the revelations of their past, the promise that threatens to tear them apart. It is a wonderful story that will have you swooning and saying "aaaawwwwww" by the time you reach the end. I highly recommend this book!

Absolutely loved Collision! Walker and Reese's story drew me in from the start. Leaona Luxx has written a wonderful story. This isn't your usual star crossed lovers story. Though they could be considered total opposites, Walker and Reese are both relatable. All of the characters are. Readers can see themselves in any of the characters. I especially love that Reese is not a cookie cutter book girlfriend. She has curves, insecurities, and embodies what a lot of ladies can relate to. Walker's love for her gives hope to the hopeless. Oops...would that be a spoiler? ;)
A great story of love and redemption. Loved it so much! Everyone should read it! Thank you Leaona!

Leaona's best work yet! What an emotional ride! This story was hot, sexy, made me laugh, and tore at my heart strings. Walker and Reese's story will grab you from the beginning. You will get sucked into this collision course and leave feeling exasperated. I loved the chemistry between them, and the battles. They had equal push and pull that made this book exceptional, and it never had a boring moment.

I really loved the idea of this story, and the even enjoyed the overall story (for the most part)...but the problem I had with this book was the lack of chemistry between the characters. I just didn't feel it. I loved Reese, and I loved Walker...I just didn't love them together. When they were apart, I totally felt like she was into him, he was into her...but when they were together...nothin. And not feeling chemistry between them just kind of killed the book for me.

When I seen this writers name, yes, the writers name, I was drawn to her name itself. Then I looked at her work. Then I was hooked. I had to know more. Stop judging me, I know I am weird, but hey, everyone has a little weirdness in them somewhere, or you just don’t know the real person yet. ::Truth!::

So here I am trying to stop staring at the cover of this book on my kindle. Yes, I admire that part first, and why shouldn’t I? Someone put a lot of time and effort into designing it! Give that person some kudos people! Knucks are all around!

As you can well enough notice, this book three. And apparently Walker has been in all the other books, and he is once again returning in this book as well. So as the cover states: “Buckle up this is gonna hurt.” But you’re wondering why?

Sometimes people try to avoid love, and think it isn’t the right time or place, or maybe even they aren’t ready for it. In this case, the title “Collision” means to collide. And Honestly, Walker had no intention of allowing anyone to ‘collide’ into him, and cause himself to ‘fall’ into love. He didn’t want nor to need it. It wasn’t part of his plans.

In Reese’s stead, she causes Walker to allow his own walls to come crashing in, causing him to actually have a need for her. And the thing is, Reese does love him, and she loves him like no other. And part of him is afraid of getting hurt, and another part of him is afraid of something else, but what is it?

And the thing is, now Walker knows, that he just can’t walk away, that he in fact, does need and want Reese. But on the same token, he is afraid of the outcome.

This is where the case in question comes into play. Walker is truly afraid of getting hurt, of what though? What is he afraid of? Love? The past? What am I not telling you here?

This is where you need to get your own copy of the book and find out for yourself, because you will not be disappointed, I promise you that! This is a delicious heart throbbing read, worthy of five delicious stars! So, go and get your copy, so you can find out what is gonna hurt! Hurry! Before it’s too late!

WOW...

Collision is book 3 in The Highway 17 series. It can be read as a standalone, however I am a HUGE fan of this series by the diamond in the rough author Leaona Luxx, so I say go read Changing Lanes and U-Turn as well!!! You definitely won't be sorry!!

Leaona Luxx has outdone herself with Collision. So far Changing Lanes had been my favorite, but Walker wouldn't have that, oh NO! Collision is now my favorite from Mrs. Luxx!!

The characters, the chemistry, the banter BRILLIANT!!! Prepare yourself for ONE HELL OF A RIDE!  Walker is back and we get a lot more of his back story, his damaged past, things he blames himself for. He believes he's unworthy of love. Gah, that Walker he absolutely MELTED my heart. He's very alpha male and I ADORED him!! But he's about to meet his match in the very stubborn, sexy, strong willed Reese. Can she show Walker he can be loved?

Reese is very self conscious of her body, she's full of self doubt about her looks and feeling that she's overweight. I had some very conflicting emotions about Reese. I LOVED her, then BAM drama and she really pushed my buttons. I was very disgusted with her at some points. I felt she really was selfish at times, but... Without giving to much away, she finally gets it together. Can Walker show her the love she's never known?

A couple of my favorite lines in the book are found at the end...

"Two objects colliding into one another, praying they can live the life they want. It's not up to anyone but You, how You find love. After all it's your meaning of life that's most important."

"Allow Love to teach you the meaning."

*I voluntarily read an advance copy from the author. This is my honest review.*

Collision is the 3rd book in The Highway 17 series if you haven't read Changing Lanes and U-Turn go read them now!
In this book you get the lovable characters from the Highyway series and it also links into characters from Cherry Grove & Still Creek.

Leaona Luxx OMG Collision is to die for, this is by far my favourite. The connections between the characters is so close knit and the banter between this lovable bunch is brilliant. You are in for one rollercoaster ride with Collision so hang on tight because the book covers all the feels, and sex hot, hot sex.
Collision was so worth the wait. When the book ended I was no, no, no give me more!

⛔️⛔️⛔️SOME SPOILERS AHEAD⛔️⛔️⛔️

Walker is Ryder's older brother from U-Turn, he's back in him home town. He has regrets about his past, preventing him from seeing the good guy he is. He's an attorney and he's on a case with the sexiest, most stubborn woman he's ever met that pushes ALL his buttons.

Reese has self doubts about her image and love in general. She's an attorney working to help save the local preservation society, she's facing off with the hottest, sexiest, arrogant, pig headed guy she's ever met and man does he know how to get her hot under the collar.

When these two collide will it be an easy open and shut case of an HEA?

PS I'd definitely lick all over Walker he's smoking hot and so,so lovable 😍😍😍

I rated this book a 3.5 of 5 stars.

It was a little hard for me to connect with the characters this time. I’m thinking that maybe had I read books 1-2, although standalones within a series, I would have had a better feel of each character’s personality and how they talk to each other. I had some trouble following the dialogue when they would banter or speak in a way that made me feel like I should know what they were talking about without them saying what they were talking about, lol.

I really enjoyed the premise of the story. Both main characters, Walker and Reese, have serious baggage from their past. Neither feel truly worthy of love and have a hard time trusting. This book was a true show of the need for self forgiveness and self-worth.

This may not have been my favorite of Leaona’s books, but I really loved her Cherry Grove series and will continue to read whatever she puts out! Looking forward to reading more!

4 Hammer of Love Stars

This book was my favorite in this series. This was in part due to there not being a lot of unnecessary drama, and a solid foundation between Walker and Reece, BEFORE the dramatic play of the story.

Walker, 100% redeemed himself in my eyes! The reasons for his past actions, especially toward Thayer, all added up and explained a lot! I ate up his alpha caretaker persona. I love Riley, his brother, but after this story... Walker has tied with him for sure— Pennington Brothers have it goin’ on!

Reece, despite her daddy issues, is my favorite h in this series. This is the case, even despite her self image, misplaced allegiance to her sperm donor, and her lack of communication toward the end. I just liked her spunk, and willingness to open up and love Walker, with little to no games! The ending was a sweet one:)

This is the third book in this wonderful series, and is Walker and Reese’s story. Walker is Riley’s brother, and he is total arrogant and cocky jerk, who just has to control all aspects of his life. Reese brings nothing but chaos into his life. These two both have demons from their past to overcome, but will their love overcome the past? No spoilers’ this is a must read, you will not be disappointed!
This author has written a phenomenal storyline, which is emotional, loving, and with twists and trust issues. I was hooked and intrigued throughout, and I cannot wait to read more of this authors’ work. I highly recommend Leaona’s work for all readers. Amazing work Leaona!

No she didn't!! I can't believe this. This author took the most hated of men in all of her writing and made him come alive as a human caring loving special special man. That takes some skill. The skill of this author shines so bright in this beautifully written story of redemption for Walker. I have to say that my girl Reese. . . ok I know I know I should be so much more sympathetic but I just bout lost it over some of her decision but you got to read it to understand what I am talking about.

Now there is passion , I mean with these two how could there not be. Their passion was their release and their connection. This book is a standalone but you miss so much by not reading them all. This is an amazing read and has become one of my favorites of the series.

Received an ARC at no cost to author on behalf of Enticement Journey Book Promotions. This is the
third book in the series and we get to have Walker's story. Walker is Riley’s brother, and at times he is an arrogant jerk. Reese doesn't like him and you can't blame her, but as they spend time together their feelings change. We go thru an array of emotions, and that is a good book, when you can laugh one minute and cry the next. Walker will learn the true meaning of love thru Reese, and you start rooting for them. We also get to read about previous characters, which I always enjoy. This can be read as a standalone, but I always recommend reading the previous books to get a better picture. Enjoy!

Leaona Luxx has outdone herself with this book. I first learned of Leaona in a group on Facebook shortly before Changing Lanes, the first book in the Highway 17 series was released. I read it and loved it. I went on to read her fist two books, Cherry Grove and Still Creek then devoured U-Turn when it came out. Every book just keeps getting better and better.

The story of Walker and Reese is wonderfully written and touches on what so many go through on in life with guilt, heartbreak, self loathing, finding forgiveness and redemption. Add in lots of love and some pretty hot scenes and you've got Collision.

Is love enough to conquer all? You'll have to read it and find out.

Most of us have been where Reese is, with all the body shaming and bullies in this world so this book touched my heart and hit home.

Reese has been left by her father having to be raised by a single mom and her self respect is down , then she sees Walker and her inner bad girl comes out but they are on the opposite ends of a lawsuit and that makes it hard to be romantic also Walker is good at self sabotage , these two just need to be themselves and then see how it goes, I will add more to my review once this book has been out a while.

This is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. I really adore this author and her writing. Here we have two characters who can't stand each other to begin with (mostly because one of them doesn't want to be a reasonable person), but they want each other like crazy. They don't feel like they deserve each other for very different reasons, so they fight the attraction until they can't. I love the whole family of characters in this book series.

I have been waiting for WALKER for FOREVER!

Walker has always been life, and his story did not disappoint. He is strong and yet accountable for his past.

Walker was redeemed in the best way EVER in this story.

Reese is a great character to have Walker play off. She is strong, beautiful and a great role model for all.

This is definitely a great book to read, if you want to read something that shows second chances are sometimes worth the effort and LOVE IS LOVE.
