Brighter
At the heart of Brighter is both a character analysis as well as an experiment in contrast. Portraying Grace Ditty, who is quite literally seen as an angel among her peers and Daniel Phlemming, who may be a heathen at best. Intentionally archetypal, Brighter applies fictional cliches of love and applies them to a modern, realistic tone. Also notably, Brighter is the first installment of Todd Crawford's Constellations series, which has spanned five years. This short story was originally included in the narrative anthology, The Black Season.
