Reviewing The Honey Trap By Lucy Wild

description

I enjoyed this one but it wasn't this author's best work. It was really just too short to have any plot or character development which made it pretty hard to connect with anything or anyone in the story. That said I think the storyline would have made for a really excellent longer book.

I am still in the process of reading this book but since there are so many authors and so many stories, I'm going to put my reviews down while they are fresh in my mind:

First up: Addison Cain's A Night by my Fire
Blurb: Woman drags stranger from water.
Right off, she shocked me with her unique approach to saving someone from drowning. I laughed out loud.

I loved the couple already right here:
She met a wide-eyed death glare with a squinted warning of her own.

This got an "Awww!" out of me:

“No,” the denial was growled but meek.
His good behavior earned him a soft smile.

This is a woman that doesn't take any crap.

***This story kept me riveted, made me laugh, was a fabulous short story - the short ones always leave me crying "I WANT MORE! MORE!" but if you want to get a taste of an author's style, this is a PERFECT way to be introduced to Cain: her heroines are DIFFERENT - snappy, but soft, feminine but tough, crazy but everywoman (Except for Sigil. Most women don't eat people... GREAT STORY BTW) I signed up to read the ARC for this one SO GOOD. Enjoy.

Next up: Bene's MONSTER: OOOOooooh I am down with the beginning already...

This review is for A Night by My Fire by Addison Cain, which is contained in the book Hero Undercover.

I'm not a huge short story buff, but Addison really made this one work. This story is about a "Stranger" that is found dying by a mountain woman. She brings him back to her cabin in the mountains and nurses him back to health. Due to a storm and the Strangers injuries, they have to spend several days together in her cabin.... days in which they learn more about each other than they bargained for, and more about themselves than they want to admit.

The thing I loved about this story was the reversal of roles. There isn't a complete power exchange, but in this story, the female MC is strong, independent, knowledgeable, and self sufficient, where as the male MC, while strong and independent, is a little more naive about the ways of the world than the mountain woman is. I was impressed how much character development was achieved within such a short story and I absolutely LOVED the sassy attitude of the mountain woman!!

This review is for Monster by Jennifer Bene, which is contained in the book Hero Undercover.

Holy hot story Batman!! This story started off hot and heavy and NEVER slowed down! It's about a girl who tries to help her brother out by paying off his debts to his drug dealer. She finds herself in over her head when she doesn't show up with enough money. She quickly learns that the dealers want something else other than money to finish paying off the debt...

The author did a fabulous job of setting up the background for the story and some fantastic character development! This is just a tease of the story that will be released as a stand alone book later down the road. I CAN'T wait to see where the story leads. This is my first taste of this author's writing and I'm so excited to read some of her other work!!

If the rest of the book is anything like these stories, it's going to be AMAZING!

*An ARC was provided by the author for an honest review*

This review is for Honey Trap by Lucy Wild only. I recieved this story as a ARC for an honest opinion. This was a short steamy read about a young woman named Kathryn. Kathryn's father is a politician and has always been extremely concerned about his image. When Kathryn gets a job at a bar her father asks his advisor Nathan to go undercover to get something incriminating against the sinful place.
As Kathryn and Nate get acquainted in this world things will never be the same.
I enjoyed this short read. It did leave a little to be desired but I understand the author's length constraints. Lucy Wild is definently one of my favorite authors!

I haven't read all of the stories to be honest. Several were good (by the authors I've read before), some where just... I dont't even know how to say it but I'll stick with "not good".
So yeah, 3 stars it is.

The review features stories by Katherine Deane, Renee Rose, Alyssa Bailey, Sophie Kisker, Addison Cain, Jennifer Bene, Jane Henry, Maisy Archer, Megan Michaels, Maddie Taylor and BJ Wane. I am very lucky to have so many amazing author friends.

Cherry on Top – Katherine Dean
Cherry own her own bakery. She has been getting some strange messages so her brother sent his army friend over to take charge of the situation. What follows are a lot of funny, sweet and sexy moments. A novella that you have to read with a plate of homemade cookies next to you.

The Russian – Renee Rose
What can I say about the story of Yuri and Lucy. It was dark, twisty and super hot, Renee knows how to write that so well. And I was cheering for them both. There is a lot of action and emotion packed into one short story.

The Strategy of Love by Alyssa Bailey
Kayla is rescued by army Major Hunter. They only spent a few hours together, but both of them can’t forget about eachother. What happens when they meet again? Sparks fly and things get heated.

Revenge served hot by Sophie Kisker
This is a very dark captive story which is something Sophie excells in. You will end up yelling at the main characters, I know I did. And I kept hoping that Livvie stayed strong and that everything would turn out right.

The Ranger’s Shotgun Bride by Maddie Taylor
A wonderful story taking place in the Wild West with a feisty lady, bandits, a misunderstanding and a strong hero who knows what he wants. And who will do anything to get it. What is not to like.

Uncharted Waters by Maisy Archer
This was a wonderful story taking place in the world of the Boston Dom books, which I adore. This story had me laughing out loud several times. And I loved the interaction between Logan and Gretchen. It was a short story but it had the character development of a full story.

Saving Sarah by BJ Wane
A lovely story of Sarah who is on the hunt for a husband. Chief Nolan knows he is the right man for Sarah and can’t wait to show her that. Feisty Sarah can’t stand the man, but there is a fine line between love and hate.

A Thief for the Duke by Megan Michaels
A Victorian Tale of a Duke who rescues a a little thief. This story has the feel of a Victorian age play story, with out the age play. I loved how feisty Effie was and how strongly the Duke elt about her. Who doesn’t love reading about love conquering all.

Slave for a Day: an Idan and Svali novella by Jane Henry
A story that takes places in Jane's Heroes of Avalere world. It is a wonderful well written and sexy story and it has the feeling of a full lenght novel instead of a short story. There is quite a lot of world building in packed into this story and it has likeable (if you like a stern dominant alpha male) characters.

Monster by Jennifer Bene
I am big fan of Jennifer and this story doesn’t disappoint. It is dark, twisty, dirty and hot. The story is also written in the first POV of both main characters. It is a story that wil leave you wanting for more, which is why it is great news that it will be made into a full lengt novel in 2018.

A Night by my Fire by Addison Cain
River safes a man from the water and takes him back to her cabin. Caught in a snowstorm with a huge dangerous beast of a man, will she survive? It is a story which you won’t be able to put down; it grabs your attention from the first page and it will leave you wanting more. My favorite things about the story; the charcaters read to eachother by the fire. It sooths the beast.

Review of "Slave for a Day" by Jane Henry

I loved Idan and Svali's short story. Svali is a sassy women who is a brat. Idan may be dominant but he loves his wife being a brat I think! When Svali's sister, Cambri, is kidnapped, Idan, Svali and Shaan go after her. Shaan is Cambri's intended. Oh the trouble that will abound because of Svali but it's all so much fun to read. Jane Henry has become one of my "go to" authors. Can't wait for more from her.

Review for "Monster" by Jennifer Bene

This was a short story to read and while it does have a cliffhanger, it's one I don't mind because I know Jennifer Bene is working on the whole story of Andre and Nicole.

When Nicole goes to a drug lords house with money to get her brother out of trouble, she falls right into the trouble she should have seen coming. Andre has been undercover for awhile now and something about Nicole just tugs at him and before you know it, he is doing what he can to help her out of the mess she has created!!! Like I said this is a cliffhanger but I still LOVED reading it and can't wait for the whole story!!!

HERO UNDER COVER boxed set gives us a range of Alpha Hero stories from some of the best in the business. There’s a bit of something for everyone from westerns to sci fi to (ex)military to undercover agents to…you get the idea. It’s filled with scintillating stories ranging from the naughty to the swoon-worthy. Okay, to be frank, most are both. While I don’t have the time or space to go into detail on every one, here is a sampling.

“Monster” is Jennifer Bene’s story and it’s exactly that. Nicole Harris comes stumbling into a situation that she has no business being in. Angry at what’s going on, she lashes out verbally only to dig herself a bigger hole. Of all the men in the room, Andre is probably the most terrifying for he is completely empty inside, merely going through the motions of existence but he might also be her savior. Maybe. But to get there, so much has to happen. Killer? Hero? Both? “Monster” was decadently dark and Bene leaves you wanting more.

“The Strategy of Love” by Alyssa Bailey introduces us to Major Jonathan Hunter Barrett III (Hunter), soon to be released from the military is asked to go on one final mission to rescue Kayla Rhea and three other women were abducted and in need of rescue. Hunter is a whiz at strategizing versus the more common “impulse and reaction.” The attraction between the two is instantaneous and electrifying. And sweet and mmmm…spankings.

“A Night By My Fire” was interesting and of the few stories I’ve read by Addison Cain, very her. Two strangers come together. One almost drowned, the other doing the right thing even though a voice in her head warns her of the danger. This story is intense and hits you in all the right (or wrong) places. It’s rough and raw with an incredible role reversal that you have to read to believe.

“Saving Sarah” by BJ Wane was one of those fun reads where I would love to be a fly on the wall watching Sarah and Travis interact. It was sweet and saucy with some bad guys to round out the story. I loved that Travis simply wouldn’t take no for an answer and Sarah’s revelation left me in my happy place.

There are twenty-five short stories in this box set and I fully intend to savor them, as they should be.

Review of "The Honey Trap" by Lucy Wild.

Fingers crossed the rest of the stories in this anthology are as well written, and as entertaining as this one!

It is fast paced, has likeable characters, and is steamy in parts.

This is a HUGE compilation of stories! Here are reviews for a few:

Monster by Jennifer Bene-
For a short story, this is jam packed with character development and just wow. Nichole tries to save her brother and finds herself in very hot water. Ms Bene has you begging for more of this story as you get to the end, because you can't believe it is over already. 5 huge big and bold stars!

A Night By My Fire by Addison Cain-
This is a really well written piece by Addison Cain. River saves a drowning man who is filled with confusion and dislike for everything about her. River is the BEST in this book, she takes argues and wins at every turn, her fire and spirit really make this short story great. 5 stars

Revenge Served Hot by Sophie Kisker-
I really enjoyed this. Livvi is kidnapped and brought to be a sex slave. When she learns who she is serving, and he wasn't rescuing her, a huge twist! I really enjoyed this and didn't expect the ending. 4.5 stars

The Stragety of Love by Alyssa Bailey-
This is a new author for me. This was a quick read about a woman who is kidnapped and insists on going back to help girls being kidnapped for sex slavery. 3 stars

I received an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing A Night By My Fire by Addison Cain.

I really enjoyed reading this book. it starts off with you not knowing what's happened to this strong and humongous man, how he came to need rescuing from a frozen lake or why River went through with the rescue feeling as apprehensive as she did.

And then they begin to speak to each other...geez the dialogue between these two absolutely MADE this book. To say they were stubborn and pigheaded would be an understatement. They were perfectly bad together. They said what was on their minds, regardless of how brutal. I loved how Stephen's demeanor screamed danger and annihilation, but he had this almost childlike innocence about him (deranged and psychotic, but innocent nonetheless). I loved that River didn't cower from him. I found their dialogue quite entertaining.

I didn't really care for the ending, too much left unsaid, but overall I enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.

What can I say about anthologies? I have a lot of them, probably in the triple digits. (I read a lot!) Now, there are probably a few, an amount that can be counted on two hands, that I have actually read from cover-to-cover and totally enjoyed. The amount I have loved? One hand, and Hero Undercover is most definitely on that list. I’d have to say, this is probably my favorite! So much so, that it would take me hours to review all of the stories that I loved in this anthology, so I’m going to do a brief rundown of my favorites, and then I will post 2 reviews a day of the authors listed. (to be fair, I have 3 stories left to finish, so they may pop up on a review as well!)

The Russian-Renee Rose Yuri is an undercover FBI agent in deep with the russian mob and he’s ready to throw it all away when Lucy’s life is in danger thanks to her brother. Will he save the day and get the girl?

Jennifer Bene-Monster Nicky makes the mistake of a lifetime by trying to pay her brother's money back to a drug lord. What she finds is a monster who may be her only hope. (TBC in 2018)

Cherry On Top-Katherine Deane Staff Sgt Jacob Pye does his friend a favor and checks on his sister Cherry. Things get interesting when a little alcohol is involved.

A Taste for Red- Piper Stone PI Shanna Jacobs and detective Cody Walker start out by butting heads when they run into each other on a case, but things heat up when they work their own case together and find out that there’s hot sex and intrigue in the art world.

The Red Stiletto- Maggie Carpenter Ruby goes running to PI Patrick after finding husband brutally murdered with one of her shoes. Is Ruby innocent? Or is she playing Patrick?

Testimony-Maggie Ryan Mia Fields is giving a witness statement when she realizes something is not quite right. Can Special Agent Damian Cooper keep her safe? And Satisfied?

Slave For a Day- Jane Henry (This is a Idan and Svali story) Svali’s sister Cambri has been taken, and in order for her and Idan to get her back, Svali will have to play Idan’s slave. Will she pull it off?

The Arms I Run To- Stevie McFarlane- Joy takes a job with a man who becomes her worst nightmare. What she doesn’t know is that the guard watching her will soon be her savior.

Justice, Roughly- Amelia Smarts Wyatt Parker Comes to town looking for a new job, he goes undercover looking to capture a cattle rustler. What he finds is a young woman who does something bad for all the right reasons.

Saving Sarah-BJ Wane Sarah decides she wants a husband, and police chief Travis Nolan keeps getting in her way. No matter that he’s trying to keep her away from a serial rapist, he wants her for himself! Can he keep her safe?

In Too Deep-Claire Conrad Agent Jace Montgomery is about to blow his cover because the woman he loves is in danger. Can he save her and keep them both from getting killed?

Unchartered Waters-Maisy Archer (Part of the Boston Doms series) Reporter Gretchen Liu is given an assignment by her boss to find his mistress. While cruising along, she never guessed her partner would be the sexy dominant she had to leave 3 years ago. Lucas is still upset over being spurned by Gretchen, but he still wants her. Can he keep her safe and get her submission?

There are still a few stories left, but the stories above are my absolute favorite! If you want an amazing anthology with 25 fantastic, amazing authors, you NEED to get Hero Undercover! And, the proceeds go to charity, how could you not get this book!!!

If you're looking for a collection of good bad boy books, you must get this! Hero Undercover has 25 relatively short reads by a variety of talented authors! Some of them I was familiar with, others I learned of from this anthology. This is a set well worth your time! Here area couple of samples of books that stood out:

Monster, by Jennifer Bene. Monster is an apt word for the hellishly dark, seedy characters in this story. It packs a punch that will have you reeling and will keep you on the edge of your seat. There are people who have no compunctions about harming others, and there are those who just want to do what's right. Nicky only wanted to erase her brother's debt, but it brought her to Andre, Paulo, and Diego. I'd love to see where this story goes. It promises to be a hell ride. There are trigger warnings - dubcon/rape and violence. I read it with eyes open, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

A Night by My Fire, by Addison Cain. River is a loner who comes across a mountain of a man in freezing water. She doesn't know a thing about him, but she saves him. What's Stephen's story? We get bits of their background tossed our way, but it grabs you and leaves you wanting even more. You won't get every last detail here, but you'll definitely want to read this one!

The Honey Trap, by Lucy Wild, is a great read. Nate and Kathryn engage in some fun BDSM action in this sexy, quick read. It was fun, steamy and sexy!

All the books were fantastic - I truly enjoyed this collection! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and bought a copy.

Spanking fetish, anyone? If so, you'll want to get your greedy little palms on this series of short smutty stories. But be warned, a lot of them are not for the faint of heart.

For me, the majority of the stories were DNF's to 3 stars - some were good, some were just silly, some bordered on depicting assault, and a few were WTF am I reading's? Four of the stories stood out though:
-5 stars for Monster by Jennifer Bene. This one was well-written and dark, one of my favorite combinations. Supposedly it's being made into a novel for 2018. I'll definitely be reading it.
-5 stars for Revenge Served Hot by Sophie Kisker. Too dark for my tastes, but I stayed glued to the pages. Read at your own risk.
-4 stars for Uncharted Waters by Maisy Archer. One of the tamer stories, but the author had something to say and she said it with intelligence.
-4 stars for The Mercenary's Girl by Emily Tilton. This one was down-and-dirty erotic from the get-go.

Curiously, the stories by the bigger authors were only ok, though honorable mention goes to Annabel Joseph for coming up with a completely believable premise, which can't be said for most of the stories in this compilation. But who am I kidding, since when is that a requisite for a good smut romp?!

I read Lucy Wild's contribution, and I loved it! I've come to expect a certain quality in her books, her dark heroes and strong heroines with their submissive side, and The Honey Trap didn't disappoint. One thing I liked was the fact that Nate didn't realize his darker, Dom side until he was faced with a situation that demanded it. He then stepped right into the role and it felt RIGHT! Really love that.

I liked Kathryn's rebellious side, as well. I remember those feelings, and doing something that seems kind of risqué is a great way to deal with it. The fact that it was more than just rebellion--she KNEW--only added to the rightness of it.

Based on The Honey Trap, I'll definitely be reading the rest of the book!

The Honey Trap by Lucy Wild
Kathryn applied for her first job at a bar knowing her father Ernest Waterman would not be happy with her choice. Behind the bar is a place called The Honey Pot that is for BDSM Doms and Subs. Ernest wants to shut it down so he has Nate go undercover to find illegal activities. I enjoyed reading this book and the way Lucy Wild weaved this story together. It is a shorter story but that doesn't take away from the story or the plot. I have pre-ordered this book, Hero Undercover, and hope to read more of the great stories in the book when I get it. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy.

So far I've only read The Honey Trap by Lucy Wild which I received as an ARC although I have pre-ordered the book. This story is short and dirty. But it also fun and still gives you that HEA that Lucy Wild is famous for. Kathryn is out of control in some reason and things could have been destructive for herself. Nate has been focused on the career path and let his personal desires go to the side. But as they are thrust together they have the chance to bring something new into their lives.

This a review for the Honey Trap by Lucy Wild only. I received an advance copy of her story only for my opinions.

This was a really fast read novella. It had all of the right elements, a strong heorine and sexy hero, some hot steamy sex and a HEA. Nate works for Kathryn's father. Kathryn wants to be independent and gets a gob at the local bar but the owner thinks she will be a better fit in the back room a BDSM den of sorts. When Kahtryn's father sneds Nate to get evidence to shut the club down, he insteads finds himself and the object of his desire.

Review – Monster

There are no good guys in Monster. We all know monsters are bad. These monsters, however, are hot, good-looking and oh so sexy. But the world is not as black and white as we might think and sometimes the monsters aren’t all bad. Sometimes they do good.
Jennifer Bene writes as good as ever. Her characters are strikingly real and believable. I can’t wait for the full novel of Monster. I want to know Andre’s story. I want to know what happens to Nicky. Will they get Paulo. Will they both be free? Can we fast forward to 2018, already?

3.5 ✨✨✨✨

My review is for The Honey Trap by Lucy Wild. I'm a fan of Lucy's work but though this was a bit quick to feel a pull to the characters but, that's just how anthologies tend to be for me.

Kathryn's politician dad hires Nate to work undercover at the bar Kathryns been hired at the help him shut it down. Kathryn's dad refuses to have his daughter tied up in a scandal so close to re election and thinks he has a win win in Nate until he doesn't.

I really enjoyed this but, would have loved this if it was just a bit longer.

This review is for A Night by my Fire, by Addison Cain!

This story is enticing from start to finish! Stephen was such a mystery and makes you want to be devoured by his strength. Not knowing where he came from made me want to continue reading hoping I would find out about his dark past.
River is the definition of a strong woman and watching her attitude towards a cold and mysterious man was both funny and addictive!
This story makes hungry for more!!

I read Lucy Wild's ARC in the collection of HERO UNDERCOVER for an honest review. This was a fun quick read with some sexy insta-love between Nate & Kathryn. She wants to make it on her own & Nate is working for her politician father. They meet in a very unique way. The story keeps you guess until the end. I think this set of stories are gonna be great...just look at the author list!

SIZZLING HOT STORIES THAT WILL KEEP THE PAGES TURNING

With this amazing collection of books by outstanding authors, the reader will be taken on twenty-five incredible and unique journeys. Some stories will be historical, while others are contemporary. With dominant men, submissive women, some with quirky characters, and others more intense and spellbinding. Some situations will have military members, law enforcement, and even good friends keeping an eye out on a family member being harassed. The stories will not leave you on a cliffhanger.
The stories will offer readers not just a day of reading, but many days worth. It is a wonderful way to enjoy authors you already love and in the process, find new authors too. Over seventeen hundred pages of sexy men, feisty women, and plenty of discipline and sexy scenes.
This is just a quick review of a few of the twenty-five stories in this collection.

Cherry on Top by Katherine Deane
LET’S MAKE A NEW RECIPE
Cherry Donovan runs her own bakery, Cherry’s Tarts, in Greenville, South Carolina. She has been having some issues since breaking up with her boyfriend, Brandon. After telling her brother, Chance, of some of the things that have happened, he requests his friend, Staff Sergeant Jacob Pyle, to make a detour and visit Cherry. Jacob is on leave to try and deal with PTSD from his latest deployment that resulted in two of their own dying in a rescue operation.
The plot will have Jacob arriving at Cherry’s for a week or so. She knows that he and her brother are in the Army together at Fort Bragg, and he needs a place to stay, but not that Chance has sent him there. Cherry is the victim of a stalker, who is escalating in the threats to her and her business. There is a physical attraction between Jacob and Cherry, one that he tries to fight because of his friend and her brother.
The story has some quirky, laugh out loud moments, some intense scenes, and then there is the budding relationship between Jacob and Cherry. There are several spankings, mostly for fun, and sexy talk, along with explicit sex scenes. While the story has “Daddy/little girl” talk, it isn’t an age-play story.

A Thief for the Duke by Megan Michaels
RESCUING EACH OTHER

The family business is gone, along with the home and her way of supporting herself. Now eighteen-year-old Ettie, in the act of hunger and desperation will steal an apple and set this tale in motion.
Charles William Ellingsford, the Duke of Norfolk will come upon the scene of a mob chasing a waif and interceded on her behalf, paying the vendor royally and then approaching the magistrate to take custody of Ettie. There will be certain stipulations from the courts for punishment and her care.
The plot will have Charles alerting his household not to use his name and refer to him as Master Willian and that he is running a school for wayward women? There will be plenty of creative punishments to keep this naughty headstrong girl in line. Two people, both just wanting to be accepted and loved for who they are and not what they have or don’t have, might just find their happily ever after ending together.

Tamara's Choice by Trent Evans
WELCOME TO THE FARM
Officer Eldon Bishop works vice and is assigned a new case. One where he will start working undercover in the office of Dr. Forester and eventually will be driven out to the farm to administer medical attention. The farm isn’t a place with animals, but women operated by Dominion Trust, a secret organization.
Meeting Tamara and having her assist him around the farm, and being available to him during his visits leaves Eldon with mixed emotions, especially as he gets to know her. But he has a job to do, and he doesn’t know how much longer he will be able to hold off his supervisor.
The plot takes this story into a level of shock with the farm. Eldon is always blindfolded and driven by Nathan to and from the location, there is no cell service, and while he is gathering evidence, he is also developing feelings for Tamara. Will he be able to rescue her and keep her safe? Not everything is as it seems. “I’ve opened the door—now you just need to walk through it.”
Detective Hercules by A.C. Rose

Slave for a Day: an Idan and Svali novella by Jane Henry
WILL YOU EVER LEARN YOUR PLACE, WOMAN?
I enjoyed this story that is a sci-fi novella from Ms. Henry’s series, Heroes of Avalere, where Idan is made Duke of the second throne and must take a wife. Svali has left her impoverished planet, Kleedan, to try and help her mother and sister. She will be chosen as his wife, and eventually, her mother and sister will also be on the planet Avalere.
In this novella, her sister, Cambri, is kidnapped from her room on Avalere, and taken back to Kleedan. The threat to his home and family must be avenged, and it will be up to Idan to help rescue her, along with her fiancé Shaan. Women on Kleedan are slaves, and when Svali insist upon going with Idan, she must play and act the part of his property, his slave, and be subjected to whatever it takes to help keep their cover and rescue Cambri.
The story will offer danger, mystery, angst, covert operations, a bit of heavy dominance and submission and power exchange. Svali will discover eroticism in giving up complete control to Idan and a bit of public voyeurism.
“The loss of that control—his power over me—but, then again, some things are left for fantasy. It has been difficult learning to obey Idan, but he loves me, takes care of me, and ensures that my every need is met.”
The story was featured in the Heroes Undercover box set. It is a great addition to the Heroes of Avalere saga. If you haven’t read that saga, you won’t be lost because this novella will read well as a stand-alone.

Testimony by Maggie Ryan

Her Protector by Annabel Joseph

Monster by Jennifer Bene

Her Undercover Doms by Anya Summers
TWO DOMINANT HEROES UNDERCOVER
The Pleasure Island series is a spinoff from the Dungeon Fantasy Club series and will have some of the people from DFC make an appearance. Jared McTavish left Scotland and created a BDSM resort on a private island about an hour from Nassau. Many of the members of DFC will have access to Pleasure Island in an exchange agreement. The story is a spinoff, and each book will read as a standalone. They also have people from DFC, but if you haven’t read them, you won’t be lost.
In this addition to the series, we see Sherry again; she was one of the maids and submissive from Scotland at the Dungeon Fantasy Club. She and Jared had scened together while in Scotland, but it was just to scratch an itch. Now she has come to work as a maid at the island, but she is also making some unsubstantiated comments about her and Jared being in a relationship. His punishment issued to her will be a week as the submissive to not one, but two Doms, Nick and Patrick.
Patrick and Nick are former special ops military that is now undercover CIA operatives working on Pleasure Island with Jared’s permission. They have been following a sex trafficking organization and know they are getting close. Now they must keep their identity a secret while enjoying their new sub, Sherry.
The plot will have Sherry upset with Jared for turning her over to Nick and Patrick for a week, but that will change quickly. There is a chemistry between her and these two powerful and commanding Dominants.
“She was on another plane where the only thing that existed was ecstasy and her submission. It was marvelous.”
Her nosiness will land her in trouble with them, and then when a hurricane has them all leaving Pleasure Island to seek shelter on Nassau, she will make a foolish move that lands her in serious trouble. Wanting to help with their investigation, becoming bait, will cause dissension between Nick and Patrick. Will she be able to help with their case, or will this tear them all apart? She trusts these two men with her very life, but will that be enough?
The story takes on elements of suspense, danger, and life and death, that will keep the pages turning and the reader on the edge of their seat. The intimate scenes of dominance and submission are an erotic dance between the three characters. This story has both M/F, M/F/M, and M/M/F action.

I have read three of the 25 novellas and any one of them is well worth the price of admission.

THE RUSSIAN by Renee Rose: Please, please, can I have a Yuri the Furi too?!? O.M.G. Can you say hot? This story is different from other stories Ms. Rose writes, but just as sizzling and intense. My only complaint? Too sort. But it is a complete story and oh so good. 5 Russianly-delicious stars! 😋

JUSTICE, ROUGHLY by Amelia Smarts: Ms. Smarts knows how to write a western. This novella had plenty of story to pull you in and understand and care about the main characters, Wyatt and Elsie, but also had a good dose of sexy heat. I loved both Wyatt and Elsie and their journey to each other. Another great story by Ms. Smarts!

A THIEF FOR A DUKE by Megan Michaels: If you like stories with harsh discipline that involves humiliation, then this is the story for you. Master William saves Ettie from a harsher fate of prison, but in return he uses her as he wishes. This had me yelling at him through my kindle. But that just makes the reading more fun. 😉 Its definitely a fun, sexy story and a hot read!

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of these three stories and have purchased /pre-ordered the entire book. I can't wait to read the other stories from the rest of my favorite authors!
