A solitary man ... Cyrus Kincaid has been living in the woods since the Great War ended. In tune with the elements and his shifter nature, he's content to be alone ... mostly. His longing for a mate, however, won't be silenced.
An unhappy woman ... Daisy Danes is the stepdaughter of a Mafia boss. She loves pink designer suits, her Yorkshire terrier Fifi, and shopping. What she doesn't love is the fact that her stepfather plans to marry her off to a hyena shifter in exchange for a shipment of drugs. In a desperate act of rebellion, she signs up for a shifter-human dating site and learns that she does have a mate -- a bear shifter who lives in a remote cabin on Fate Mountain.
A perilous path When the hyena shifter tries to double-cross her stepfather, Daisy escapes with Fifi and flees through the forest -- straight into Cyrus's arms. Despite their being mates, it's anything but love at first sight for this unlikely couple, and things get even more dangerous when a dark figure from Cyrus's past resurfaces. Can they overcome their differences in time to defeat their enemies and find a happy ending?

Cyrus has given up on living in the human world after all the atrocities he witnessed during the human war and then the struggle for shifters to blend in with them. Good thing for Fate Mountain and his Kin of course. Living in the mountains is fine with him, he is connecting more everyday with his bear and nature, but there is a loneliness in his heart that only a mate could fill, but what female in her right mind would want to live away from civilization with him?
Daisy has always been allowed to have whatever she wants from her stepfather, except what she's always wanted, to go to college. Soon she discovers the true reason and it can come to no good if the Upton Hyenas are involved. Daisy manages to run away before she is traded off for drugs and runs right into Mountain Man's log cabin, earlier in the day she signed up at Mate.com and it matched her 100% with this man, can a girl get luckier.
Can a spoiled city girl and her doggie handle a huge hot mountain man?
Did not agree with fate pairing these two. I can understand the oxymoron of these two opposites attracting but it just did not work for me I am sorry to say. Cyrus is a real mountain man who loves his solitude and living wild. He quietly longs for his mate but realises he may never meet her. Along comes the most unlikely spoilt princess of a child and her cute dog. To pair Cryus with Daisy was just so far out in left field I could not merge them at all. He needed a woman not a spoilt child, even at the end he was giving her a store credit card and a car. Only due to outside factors he has all this cash. I really struggled to read this once Daisy came into it. I hate spoilt lazy brats and she came across just like that. What a complete ninny of a spoilt princess she was for the first half and just bearable for the second half. Even after being changed she only nominally was better. If it wasn’t for the fact I adore these brothers I would not have kept reading. What the hell was fate thinking, definitely wrong with this pairing even though it was all sweetness at the end. Fifi was a cutie though. This is my honest review of this book.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we get Cyrus Kincaid's story and we are introduced to Daisy Danes. When this book opens up we find Cyrus on the mountain and we actually find out what he does up there. We also find that he is open to the idea of a mate but wants her to fit into his lifestyle not the other way around. He doesn't want to have to change anything about his life and how he has been living it on the mountain. He believes that fate will give him a woman that will like the outdoors as much as he does. That is until he opens the door and meets his mate Daisy Danes. Can they find a way to be together or will their difference just be to much to handle?
Daisy is the typical young lady. She is 19 years old, is not in college (not for a lack of wanting it), shops, uses credit cards her step-father pays for, and parties with her friends. Daisy wants to do more in her life that just this if only she would be given the chance. She keeps asking her step-father if she can go to college for interior design but he keeps shutting her down. Now she knows why. Her step-father has just promised to marry her off to one of the updike boys (they are the hyena's we meet in the previous books). However Daisy has the feeling that they aren't her mate and is determined to see if she can find her true one. However finding him is just half the problem. Will she find him in time? Can he even help save her when they meet?
This is a great book that shows us you can tell fate all you want what your going to do then it will do what it has planned. There are some twists in this book that I really want to tell you all about but don't want to ruin it for anyone else. I will say this book will have you hooked from the beginning to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions on it .Cyrus has been living up in the wilderness on Fate Mountain since the great war ended .Hes seen enough and is almost perfectly content to stay out in the woods at one with nature and in tune with his shifter side .The only thing in his life that isn't perfect is having a mate he longs to find his he even signed up for that shifter dating site mate.com but he hasn't found her yet .When he does find her hes in for one heck of a surprise lol. Daisy is the yorkie owning , designer suit wearing ,shopping loving stepdaughter of a mob boss .When she learns that her stepdad intends to marry her off to a hyena shifter who is definitely not her fated mate in exchange for a shipment of drugs she signs up for mate.com and finds she has a real mate ,a bear shifter living in the wilds on fate mountain .Things go sideways when her father tries to make the trade off for the drugs and Daisy ends up running for her life on fate mountain. She runs straight into mountain bears lair .These two characters could not be more opposite or more right for each other and watching them get to their HEA was a great ride .I could not put this story down the action, danger , passion and humor kept me turning page after page .I would definitely recommend this book to other paranormal lovers out there looking for that next must read book.
Good story. Cyrus came back from the war disillusioned and wanting solitude. He left his brothers to the ranch and moved to his one-room cabin in the woods. One thing was missing. A mate. He signed up on Date.com like all the other shifters around.
Daisy had all the free time she could want. She could buy what she wanted and club with her friends. What she couldn't do was go to college or get a job. Her stepfather wouldn't allow it. Little did she know he had plans for her. Marriage to a Hyena shifter she'd never met and knew wasn't her mate. A trade off for a shipment of drugs.
Her escape literally put her in the arms of her mate. How could city girl and a mountain bear be together? You'll be surprised at the outcome. There are hard times and both have to grow up and realize what they need to do to be with someone else. Is their other half important enough to make those changes? Their love is touching. The bear is important to Cryus. How will Daisy feel about his bear? Enough to fully accept his shifting? There is new danger and an old foe. Good characters and a good story. A recommend. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
Daisy and Cyrus's story was quick and fast paced really really good. Cyrus was ex-military lived a solitary life up in the mountains Fate Mountains away from his brothers. He still saw them every now and then that he enjoyed being up in the mountains . He did realize though that he really wanted to find a mate . Last year he had signed up for mates.com but had not found his mate yet. Now there is a knock on the store and right on his doorstep he knows his mate has found him.
Daisy is the daughter of a mobster, lives in a mansion and has a dog by the name of FiFi. Her stepfather comes and tells her he's marrying her off to a hyena shifter, Daisy really does not want to. She has just signed up to mates.com and has found her mate Mountain Bear. She is forced to go with her stepfather to fate Mountain. He is exchanging her for some drugs. Well the exchange goes bad and Daisy runs into the forest because she doesn't want to be mated to the hyena shifters. She comes across a cabin in there she finds her mate Cyrus.
This was very fast pace and he kept you turning pages which was great.
Daisy and Cyrus. Daisy lives a carefree life shopping, lunching at the Club, visiting with her girlfriends. All that changes when her stepfather announces that she is to marry a hyena shifter in payment for a ton of crystal. Grizzly bear shifter Cyrus spends his days in his primitive cabin in the woods far away from the civilization he no longer trusts. When Daisy escapes into the forest, Cyrus rescues her. They say opposites attract and Daisy and Cyrus are about as opposite as they get.
Mountain Bear is an excellent third story in this series. Grumpy old Cyrus and Princess Daisy are really likable characters. The storyline is just the right blend of humor, danger, and romance to keep me engaged. Favorite characters from previous books make cameo appearances. I enjoyed catching up with their lives, too. I'm impatiently waiting for the next book in this series.
This is another great addition to the Timber Bear Ranch series. It has kidnapping, betrayal by a parent and finding ones self. Cyrus Knicaid has been a drop out of society. He lives off the land on Fate Mountain and is happy to be left alone after the Great War. Daisy Danes has been taken to Fate Mountain to be given to the Hyenas in trade for Crystals. She already knows she is been matched on Mate.com to be Mountain Bears mate. If she can escape can she find him? Did fate get it wrong she is frilly and he is rough and grumpy? Will these two really get along? Will he let her redecorate his cabin? Will her father return to claim her? I enjoyed this story and the shots from past Fate Mountain stories. I give it 5 stars. "I voluntarily read and reviewed a advanced readers copy without pressure to do so".
I have enjoyed this series about a family of bear shifters trying to rebuild their lives. Cyrus is the brother who retreated to isolation after the war and the disappointment with his father. He never expected to find his mate walk up to his isolated cabin. Daisy is on the run from an arranged marriage set up by her crime boss stepfather. She has been raised as a pampered princess and is not sure what to do. Finding her mate gives her a chance for a different life. They just have to stay alive.
I liked Cyrus. He is strong and protective. He is a man that made a choice to live the life he wanted. Daisy is harder to really relate to as she is pretty immature and very self-focused. I didn't dislike her but I didn't admire her either. I do think they can offer some balance to each other. They do have good chemistry.
This is the third story in this series about Cyrus, the brother who became a recluse when he returned from the war. Daisy is the ditzy blond who has lived her whole life like a society princess (what a match up) that is until her stepfather tries to trades her off to a hyena shifter for drugs. Daisy runs when she gets a chance, right into Cyrus’ waiting arms.
You have to read this story just to find out how things turn out. Can they work out their attraction? Can Cyrus change? Can Daisy? What more do you need in a story, you have drugs, thugs, flying bullets, bear shifters and romance. This is a great story and you get see some familiar characters from some of Ms. Grove’s previous work.
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
From prisoner to freedom, both of the main characters suffer for different reasons, but soon realize that in many ways, they are similar. Daisy, after the loss of her mother at a much younger age, has lived with her step-father, yet without the commodity of love, even though he has provided for her financially. But shortly after her nineteenth birthday, she finds herself in a situation that not only makes her extremely uncomfortable, but also very dangerous. Cyrus is done with the world and all of the trouble it holds. Until one tiny human female comes knocking at his door in the middle of the secluded woods he lives in. Then, all holds are barred, as he and his bear recognize his mate. When he finds out she’s in trouble, all he knows is that he has to protect her. Will he manage to do so? Or will his fears get the best of him?
Cyrus Kincaid has lived alone up on Fate Mountain for years. He is much happier away fro the trouble that humans bring. He spends alit of his time in his grizzly bear form. There is only one thing missing, a mate. Daisy Danes is the spoiled stepdaughter of a big time criminal. She wants to be an interior designer but her stepfather has his own idea how she can be useful. She will be the mate of one of the hyena shutters he is doing business with. You couldn't get two more opposite people than our hero and heroine, but fate will have the last laugh. A short but action packed story that is quite easily read as a stand alone. It will however tempt you to read the others in the series. A good fun read.
Cyrus is the third brother to find his mate. He is a bit confused at first since he has been living on a mountain by himself, away from everyone and Daisy is a club-hopping young lady with expensive tastes due to her step-father. When he finally mates with her, they get attacked by the associates of her father that wants to trade her to the hyena clan. After they escape the danger and take down the bad guys, Cyrus decides to move her back to Timber Bear Ranch. A cute story of two people totally different making a wonderful life together.
I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Daisy's stepfather is a criminal and tells her to pack her things she is being, basically, sold to a shifter and that shifter will take her as his mate. Cyrus is shocked when his mate knocks on the door of his cabin. She is exhausted and has her tiny pet with her. Daisy and Cyrus find love, but her stepfather and his thugs will try to take that happiness away from them. Wow, these are fascinating, well written characters that will fight for their lives and their love. This is an exciting, sexy, and sweet read with a plot that has interesting twists. Fantastic book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! Cyrus loved this life in the mountain. He was content. But lately, he has been thinking about his mate. Would he ever meet his mate ? Daisy did not want to be a pawn in her stepfather's scheme. She finds herself in a drug exchange. When it goes wrong, she runs right into Cyrus's cabin. Now that his mate was in his cabin, what is Cyrus to do? He is going to protect her, of course. When the bad guys find Daisy, bullets are fired. Cyrus will do anything to protect Daisy. This book was action packed. Great ending!
I love the Timber Bear ranch stories, but this one's the best. I also have a love for Fate Mountain! Cyrus Kincaid is so zen living on the mountain away from everything. Daisy Dane is a spoiled little rich mob boss' daughter. The hyena clan wants Daisy, but she just wants away. I laughed when she met Cyrus and Fifi, her little yorkie, wanted to protect her from him. After getting to know her, my opinion changed. She was so much more than just fluff. She found a strength that we didn't know she had. Cyrus has some secrets we learn to make him more approachable. I loved this book. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
A great read in this series with book 3. We have Cyrus, a bear living alone in the mountains ans Daisy. Daisy is being sold to a hyena in exchange for some drugs. Those hyenas have been nothing but trouble in this series but they keep it interesting. Daisy and Cyrus meet at his cabin while she's on the run from her step-dad and future husband. Daisy & Cyrus are mates, they are also total opposites of each other. They need to bend and learn to make this work and stay one step ahead of the men on their tail. This book was given to me by the author and this is my honest review with no obligation.
I love the Timber Bear Ranch and all the Fate Mountain books and this one was another winner. You take one mountain man/bear shifter and throw in a spoiled city girl along with a little yapping dog and you've got a real love story! At first, both Cyrus and Daisy are sure fate has made a Huge mistake but we all know Fate makes no mistakes. I'd certainly recommend this to anyone who likes a good book and a good series.
What happens when fate decides a mountain man who lives off the land alone and an spoiled young city girl should be mates? Laughter, danger and a family that stands together. Cyrus and Daisy seem unlikely mates. He's rough around the edges and she's bubbly and wears designer clothes. Sexy mountain man, spoiled rich girl with spunk and a cute dog make a good quick read. Perfect for summer. No cliffhanger and a hea. I voluntarily received this arc in exchange for an honest review.
It's true love can take the wild. Daisy is such a spunky woman, and with her mate beside her she can do anything. These two make you fall in love with them, I know I did. The mystery, the chemistry, and the twist will leave you glued to your seat. The series just keeps getting better and better with every book. So grab it join the Timber Bears they will lead you on a great adventure.
Cyrus and Daisy are complete opposites, he is a mountain bear who lives in solitude and craves quiet, she is a city princess who loves pink and her little dog Fifi. Forced together in dangerous times they must make peace with each other and discover wether they can make a mating work. Will the princess and the bear have a happily ever after?
Enjoyable and entertaining read. I really struggled to read this when Daisy came into the picture. I didn't care much for her pampered princess attitude but she eventually grew on me. Overall a good read looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC I haven't been compensated in any way.
What a great mix of suspense, fear, joy, and romance! Daisy was a young, purely cosmopolitan girl, but stronger than she knew. Cyrus had hidden away on Fate Mountain for years, rarely venturing down to town. How could fate possibly match them when they were completely different? Read their story...it is fast and furious, but I loved it!
Daisy is a spoiled debutante, and Cyrus is a disillusioned mountain bear. When Daisy's father tries to trade her for a shipment of crystal ti the hyena shifters she runs away and stumbles upon Cyrus remote cabin. Daisy already knows. Cyrus is he one true mate but can she convince him she is worth the rick of taking a chance on them?
Will Daisy really be able to tame Mountain bear ? They say opposites attract but Daisy and Cyrus are poles apart, the pampered princess and The gruff grizzly shifter in self-imposed isolation, could mate.com really have got it wrong ? An enjoyable read in which we get to meet the elusive Cyrus when fate decides to turn his world upside down.
If you've kept up with the Kincaid clan and the brothers finding their mates and wondered when are we going to see Cyrus find his mate will wonder no more Scarlett Grove has written the most beautiful story about fated mates and bringing the bad guys to justice is a bonus. This story has the steamy and the sexy but also filled with action.
Cyrus is a broken man. He had pulled away from society after the Great War. Daisy lives with her stepfather since her mother died. He trades her to the Updike brothers for drugs right after she finds out Cyrus is her fated mate. Chaos ensues and Daisy finds herself with Cyrus. They must both decide if they can make compromises to be together.
Take to the mountains and maybe you can find a MOUNTAIN BEAR TOO! This was a crazy mixed up story with all ingredients needed! A hunky male, a cute female, danger, dastardly men, shifters, and mostly love, smiles, family! Voluntarily read for honest review.
I loved this story. It was well-written and so amazing that seemingly totally different people could fall so completely in love so quickly. They completed each other. Cyrus and Daisy were made for each other. We all would love to have a love like this.
