Sadie Ritter is sixteen years old, nine months pregnant, and scared out of her sweet nerdy mind. Having a baby that young is tough, but with the support of her loving family behind her, everything should be okay.
Oh yeah, and also her baby is the antichrist and it's going to break open the barriers between the earthly and demonic planes and unleash eternal suffering to all of humankind. Other than that, though everything should be fine.
I actually kind of like this even though the artwork is somewhat pedestrian. I'm not certain where the story is going to go but I'm curious enough to continue on.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Interesting story and nice art. The way the story is told is that a teenager is pregnant and she records a message to her unborn child about how he came into the world because she thinks she is not going to meet him. We have all the hints that this baby is the antichrist, but I am dying to know how it all came to be. How did she get pregnant? What is she going to do now? The concept is great, the characters are a little flat and like caricatures of specific types of people, otherwise it would have been 5 stars. I wish the art was a little scarier. It would have fitted the story perfectly. Will grab the TP to read on.
Very weird, but interesting. I'm intrigued to know more. This edition was black and white, all sketch...which at first I was bummed about but then decided I really liked it. And even though that cover in no way relates to what's inside this issue...it's bad@ss!
*Minor spoilers* Here begins the story of a 16 year old girl who gives birth to a rather strange baby who doesn't take to her milk but instead thrives on human blood. In this first volume we are lead to believe that the child is the antichrist and there is a secret organisation looking to kill off the baby otherwise the child will be responsible for the end of days. As the book progresses, it becomes apparent that this child may not infact be the antichrist but could actually be very special and important to human kind and needs to be protected. Unfortunately I only have the first volume in the series so need to buy the others in order to see how the story progresses from here but I am intrigued. It was quite an enjoyable read and I want to find out more. The art work is fantastic and the story is good. Highly recommended!

Wow! Love this series. I started it when there were 12 issues out, and I'm on number 11. A great story that is unfolding over time...until issue 10 where you get to present day. The first 10 issues are a bit of backstory to bring you to the story line's present time.
The story line:
A baby is born. He's the supposed anti-christ. There are two faction after him: One trying to kill him and one trying to save him. Caught in between these two factions are the baby's mom, her sister, and her dad.
The story kept me intrigued by the first page. I had no idea what I was about to read, but I am a fan now and can't wait to get to know more about this world Cates has built.
