Wow! Wow! Wow!! This book was incredible!! Its was full of angst and crazy emotions. I absolutely adore Drew and Brooklyn!! I knew from reading Promise that I needed so much more of this couple and T.K. Leigh didn't let me down. It was exciting and emotional and that ending left my jaw on the floor!!

July 29, 2018First of all, let’s talk about the beauty of the cover. Simple, yet stunning and enigmatic.
The story opens with Brook (Brooklyn) and Drew (Andrew) as teenagers. Brook is the best friend of Drew’s younger sister Molly. Brook has had a’thing’ for Drew for years and now that she is getting older he has noticed her too.
One night Drew rescues Brook from doing something that she would regret at a party, they kiss, he drives her home and they kiss some more. This is caught on the CCTV that her father has everywhere and me misconstrues it and turns up next morning to threaten Drew if he does not stay away from Brook. Drew is off to college and knows that despite their families (both their fathers are single fathers) being close, he has no option to do as he is told and keep a wide distance from Brook.
Fast forward 16 years and Drew is a single dad to 2 little girls (and casually seeing a woman that he has no feelings for) , Molly is pregnant and engaged and Brooklyn is Dating Wes.
Despite the time passed the trio are all still incredibly close but Drew and Brook are still harbouring deeper (unacknowledged) feelings for one another. When Wes proposes and Brook says yes.
This is such a well written emotionally charged story of the many different kinds of love and hard decisions. The characters are incredibly well written and the story is beautifully woven. Even though this is slower paced than my usual reading choice, I found just as pleasurable to read. Well that was until the cliffhanger! Ooh T.K. Leigh may be a wonderful author but what I little minx to leave me hanging this way! – Luckily she won’t be keeping her readers waiting too long.

I really tried to plow through the book and finish it but it just hit everything I dislike in a book. Brooklyn’s a doormat with major self esteem issues. She pined for Drew for 17 years! When his ex wife left and cheated on him, you figure since he has feelings for Brooklyn that he’d go to her...no. Instead, he got himself a booty call buddy.
Yeah, I know. Crazy.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn gets engaged to a hot, muscular, rich, and professional something (architect, I think). He took her to London, Paris, Berlin but unfortunately, she feels nothing for him. It was mentioned that her sex life with Wes was mediocre at best. Geez, hard to please much?
So, what made me finally DNF the book. Drew and his booty call gf had a very detailed sex scene. It was completely unnecessary. But of course, it was mentioned that he was thinking about Brooklyn the whole time.
Yeah, no.
I can honestly say that I DNF the book due to my preferences. I don’t want to read detailed sex scenes with OW or OM. I don’t like a doormat heroine esp. the kind that pines for 17 years with major self esteem issues. She was annoying. Her POV was aggravating. I liked her a lot in Molly and Noah’s book because she was confident, smart, and independent. She’s the complete opposite in this book. She’s pathetic. Drew on the other hand, is also annoying. His POV is always about him getting his freak on and that it’s okay because he needs to release all this pent up angst and emotions.
The side characters are not helping the story either. Molly, the supposed bestfriend is just a bit too self involved. I like Aunt Gigi’s character but it’s just not fully fleshed out in this book. She’s just in a few scenes I’ve read so far. Unfortunately, I can’t finish this right now because I might hurl my Kindle across the room.
I might get back to it. Hmmmm.

I knew going into Commitment this was going to be an angsty friends-to-lovers romance. And I was not wrong.
There’s so much back history—so much side story happening—that you can’t help but want to both wring Brooklyn and Drew’s necks as much as you want to gather them close and give them bear hugs.
I really, really liked Drew. Loved his integrity and wish to not hurt Brooklyn further by keeping the secret that pushed them apart so many years ago. But he’s such a clueless man. Seriously, how blind is he that he can’t see he’s hurting Brooklyn, and has for years, regardless of a decision he made at eighteen.
And Brooklyn grew on me. I liked her right away, but she started to frustrate me a lot by her failure to stand up for herself and allowing her fears to get in the way of going after what she really wanted—or should I say who.
I’m anxious to see what happens next in this Redemption duet! My bet is placed on an HEA for Drew and Brooklyn, but I don’t think it’s going to come easy! ~ Missy, 4 stars

Kind of don't care enough about this story to bother with the conclusion, Redemption. It's boring and the plot isn't what I expected. Too many significant elements of the story were 'told,' like little snippets of afterthought and it felt to me that big chunks of the story were missing. The stuff skimmed over wasn't even in the prequel, so there wasn't really much point to a prequel at all.
Cutting my losses with this one.

This kept me somewhat intrigued it was repetitive. I kept going thinking and hoping it would get better because the Novella delivered a story that had soo much potential.

Oh my goodness!!! this has HEARTBREAK all over it.
Brooklyn and Drew has a pull that you hope to hold onto throughout their story. I kept hoping for more and hoping for Drew to finally SEE the idiot that he is 😆 what’s right in front of him cause Brooklyn was so obvious aaaaaand that ending 🤦🏽♀️ I can’t the angst and the feels are too much.

What a joke!
She was pining for a man that is constantly disregarding her for 17 years. He was avoiding her because her father made a threat when they a teenager. He got married, had kids, divorced while she’s on the sideline helping him take care of his kids and everything. She got no life, using other people instead of standing up for herself. I hate when they make a heroine like that!

I was fascinated by Brooklyn and Drew in Writing Mr Right and could not wait for their story. When I say that it would be more than 1 book (a prequel and two full books), I was highly skeptical. The prequel was fine, but this one sadly did not do it for me. The story starts with Brooklyn getting engaged to someone else, so she is with someone other than the hero for the entirety of this story. There is also a sex scene with the hero and his booty call, which I could have done without. The pacing here felt off, and I still don't understand why this warranted a full book. Brooklyn and Drew have so much potential, but this story did not do them justice. I will read the conclusion since its free through KU, so fingers crossed.

I received an advanced copy of this book with the promise of an honest review.
First things first. If you haven’t read the prequel “Promise,” then you really need to stop what you’re doing and go one click. It explains why Brooklyn and Drew’s relationship is currently the way it is. Plus, it’s free, a quick read, which I think totally necessary.
Drew is an ex NHL hockey player who also happens to be a single dad and is carrying a torch for his sister’s best friend. Brooklyn is a social who wears her heart on her sleeve and is carrying a torch for her best friend’s brother. The thing is that they are fooling no one. Pretty much everyone in their life knows that these two have feelings for each other, but very few people know just how deep those feelings go. When Drew realizes that he is about to lose Brooklyn for what could be forever, he knows he has to do something about it.
Drew. *sigh* Oh Drew. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. He loves his family and will do anything for them. He is an amazing father who makes sure his two beautiful girls grow up in an stable, loving home. And he’s a good friend. A friend who will do anything for those he cares about. There is a scene in this book that ripped my heart out and made me curse TK so much. I won’t say anything more that that but all I could think was “OMG this might be the worst kind of torture for him right now.” And then I cried a little. Or a lot. I’ll never tell.
And then we have Brooklyn who is doing what she thinks she needs to do. It doesn’t matter that it’s definitely the wrong thing. She’s lived her life a certain way for a reason and she is so afraid that going back on that may ruin everything she’s built for herself. Or as I see it, for everyone but herself. Brooklyn and Drew have such a strong connection with each other and I just want them to be happy.
I was a mess by the end of this book. I had tears running down my cheeks and in true TK fashion she had me yelling at my ereader. When finished, I immediately wanted more of them. Brooklyn loves Drew and his two girls and as far as I can see, them being a happy little family will be the only ending I will accept! (You hear that TK? 😉)

After reading Promise, I had no clue what I was in store for. I knew this was going to be a second chance romance, but I had no predictions on how everything would play out.
I really enjoyed this book. I read it in half a day (maybe less). These characters and their story is everything. I knew I was going to be in for a treat right from the start.
I love Brooklyn and Drew. Their push and pull in this book will make your heart ache. Two people who love each other with all of their hearts, but their push and pull is everything. It makes for what I hope to be a happily ever after that much better. (I need the next book pronto so I can get the rest of this book.)
I want to say that I feel sorry Wes. Almost. I didn't get much from him, but maybe that's the point? He is present but absent at the same time, so it's hard for me to feel much for him. I don't believe that his love for Brooklyn is an all consuming love like Drew's is. Although, I am kind of hoping he at least fights for her in the next book.
My heart physically hurt at times for Brooklyn and Drew. Between their denial and their back and forth, the angst was almost too much at times. I thought I was going to combust.
If you haven't picked this one up, I highly suggest that you do. Leigh never seems to disappoint with her books. I have yet to be let down.

The timelines in this book were a mess and it felt like a lot of info was missing. I’m wondering if it’s because I didn’t read the prequel? If so, it really shouldn’t state that the prequel is *optional* to read. I likely would have enjoyed this more if I wasn’t trying to piece together what was going on.

Brooklyn and Drew was so good that they were so frustrating at the same time. They had so many obstacles and lies and misunderstandings standing in between them that it was suffocating. But you also witnessed true love being formed and then you’re rooting for them.
This is a good slow burn childhood friends to lovers story with a great set of secondary characters. At times I wished that Brooklyn was a bit more aggressive and not so much of a doormat with her future mother in law. But that’s not who she was. Her and Drew had so much in common that it made me swoon. Then adult Drew just had me putty and smiling with the drastic change that he made as a adult. He was wow. Brooklyn was still sweet but there is still so many unanswered questions and poor girl just wants to be loved.
I can’t wait for the conclusion because I’m rooting for them but I still wish that in Book 2 she speaks up more.

It is 3:25 am and I just finished the book. My heart! Oh my! I loved every angsty minute of this book.
Your first love is always hard to get over. But Brooklyn and Drew's love is so complex that it's a mind fuck in itself.
When Brooklyn's boyfriend (Wes) of 8 months proposes. She decides it is time to move on and put her first love where he belongs. In the past.
Drew has other plans. Hearing that Brooklyn is engaged to get married makes him get his ass in gear. (I mean he is a man and sometimes they need a not so gentle nudge in the right direction. Though that's was not why she said yes to Wes.)
But the real question is can Brooklyn move on from Drew? Or can she forgive him and open her heart back up to her, risking him crushing her heart once more?
I really need the next book like yesterday.

Way, way, way too much back and forth bullshit between these two. I'm not sure I like either of them, and the scenes with OM/OW where they were each thinking of someone other than their partner, were pretty gross. I just do not understand what they even see in each other. Do they even love each other? I sure didn't think so considering how much shit they put each other through.

OH MY GOD!! I need so much more!! That ending has my stomach in knots! Redemption can't come fast enough! Brooklyn and Drew have a connection like no other. The universe has a way of righting wrongs and bringing together soul mates. I'm praying they find their way back to each other. Yes this was romance but it was also suspense! Like on the edge of your seat holy crap what is going to happen suspense! I honestly just need so much more of Brooklyn and Drew! And it's so close!!

It was a frustrating & angst filled story. I just didn’t care for the personal path Drew took during the years they weren’t in touch. When they do start reestablishing their friendship again there wasn’t any spark or intense chemistry. I’m not a fan of Drew’s and I just feel like we’re going to see a side of Wes we won’t like since he was just too perfect.

I want more... I mean I need more of this story. Friends to lovers stories are the best and TK Leigh has delivered what she does best, writing stories of angst, wrong timing and broken hearts.
I highly recommend that you read the prequel to this story as it gives the back story and the hot, enticing tension that has been building up between Andrew and Brooklyn. Seriously I could not sit still with this chapter in their heartbreaking tale. Brooklyn is still young and shy but her blushes towards all-star hockey greatness Andrew is so endearing and sweet. However, what happens at the end of the prequel leaves you gutted and heartbroken between these two, want to be, lovers.
As the story progresses into the future Brooklyn is all grown up and Andrew is a single dad of two beautiful girls but there is always an elephant sitting in the room with these two friends. They want so much more from each other but each is scared to voice what was meant to happen many years ago on that one fateful night that brought their lust to the forefront of their friendship.
This is exactly where you want to scream at both of them so they can jump each other but it wouldn’t be great storytelling if the characters got what they wanted, would it? Tension builds, hearts get caught up in things they shouldn’t consider and lives are going to be changed forever.
I’m so engrossed in this tale and cannot wait for the next instalment. My heart hurts and I need answers now.
I highly recommend that you read the prequel to this story as it gives the back story and the hot, enticing tension that has been building up between Andrew and Brooklyn. Seriously I could not sit still with this chapter in their heartbreaking tale. Brooklyn is still young and shy but her blushes towards all-star hockey greatness Andrew is so endearing and sweet. However, what happens at the end of the prequel leaves you gutted and heartbroken between these two, want to be, lovers.
As the story progresses into the future Brooklyn is all grown up and Andrew is a single dad of two beautiful girls but there is always an elephant sitting in the room with these two friends. They want so much more from each other but each is scared to voice what was meant to happen many years ago on that one fateful night that brought their lust to the forefront of their friendship.

WOW! I knew Commitment this was going to have angst, and be a heartbreaking emotional rollercoaster ride, but WOW, TK Leigh has given us a PERFECT start to the Redemption duet.
There’s so much history with Drew and Brooklyn I recommend reading Promise to get a bit of insight into these two. I ADORE Drew although at times I wanted to bop him over the head like Aunt GiGi. Sometimes his blindness about Brooke drove me crazy!! But he's a very kindhearted man, who adores his daughters. I have a soft spot for those single, sexy, yummy dads!
And Brooklyn how my heart broke for her at times. But she has shown she's a strong woman. As much as I adored her I did have moments I wanted to bop her upside the head too.

Commitment is the first book in the Redemption series. This book picks up 16 years later after the Promise prequel. It's a Contemporary romance with a 2nd chance with my best friends brother trope. The cover is eye catching, the characters are well written, the plot is magnetizing. Commitment is an action packed, emotional roller coaster of all the feels, including sex with other partners and a Cliff Hanger. My 4 star rating is due to the cliff hanger that was left out in the excerpt!
Brooklyn Tanner has set aside her feelings for Andrew Brinks all of her life, she has never felt good enough for him and he tends to break promises. Brook has helped him raise his 2 little girls since his ex walked out on them. Now she is engaged and getting married, she must move on with her life and Wes, her fiance is good to her.
Andrew Brinks is a former hockey player and since his ex walked out his 2 little girls are his number one priority. Drew is confused by his emotions when Brook announces she's engaged. He knows he has let her down and taken her for granted but now is the time to decide if he can let her move on without him...

3.5/4. It's fine but I need more umph between these two. I want to believe that they love each other. I'm excited for the second book, because it looks like it may have some angst (yay) and I want to know who she chooses.

Picked this up at a book signing in Lancaster. Best decision ever! Loved the story even though I wanted to ring Drew’s neck and same with Brooklyn. Those two drove me crazy with their angst. In the end, this story does leave you on a cliffhanger which is fine by me. Just makes me want to know which way did Brooklyn go. Need answers.
