Barbara is a single mother of one; a beautiful daughter that has now found her happy ending. Barbara is glad her daughter has found love, but now she feels lonely, and goes out in search for a new purpose in life.
She has never thought she would fall in love or ever get married; her complicated past with Megan’s father has affected her ever since Megan was born.
She finds herself suddenly back in time to 1810 where she meets Daniel, a handsome, funny intuitive man that changes her perspective on herself and her past. For the first time in her life, she finds hope that she will have her own happily ever after. There is only one problem; she doesn’t want to stay in the past.
As time travel romances go, this was a decent story. The attraction between the hero and heroine, a much older couple than most romances feature, was believable. The story could have been a bit longer and showed how Daniel adjusted to life in 2016 with Barbara. I also wish the author had shown how each character reacted to the unique elements of each time period a bit more. For example, I'm sure the absence of modern plumbing and electricity was not something Barbara easily accepted. Likewise, Daniel and Laura should have been in awe of modern home appliances, cars, airplanes, and bathrooms.
The stalker subplot was an unnecessary distraction. His character added nothing to the story. Dealing with the rapist baby Daddy was already enough of a challenge for Barbara. Jason got off way too easy. He should have been arrested for assault and battery. Grabbing Barbara's arms and shoving her to the floor was a crime! The way he agreed to go to anger management was too convenient and made the resolution seems a bit unbelievable. Suddenly, at this point in his life, he realizes he has a problem? Sure, I want all loose ends to be tied up when a story ends, but the ending should feel natural and plausible.
The only reason I read the fifth book in the serie is to finaly put an end to it. I can't believe no one is talking about the pour writing/editing of these books. Isn't it the editors job to make sure there are no mistakes, words missing in a sentence/repetitions, inconsistancies etc? "Laura came in wearing a pair of borrowed sweatpants and t-shirt. She was the same size as Megan, so she had been using Megan's clothes to relax in. At the moment, she wore a green t-shirt and sweatpants" Was she wearing sweatpants? 😒 Or "She finished her lantern and could see Megan had already finished her own. [...] She finished her lantern, and set them all by an open window..."
And what about the fact that Megan's father was named Greg in the previous book and Jason in this one.
Sometimes it's Isabella, other times it's Isabelle or Isabel. Sometimes they're in 1810, other times it's 1816.
In a previous book, Josephine was 5 years old in 1902. In this book, she is still 5 years old but we're in 1905.
I could go on....
The only reason I didn't give it 1 star is because in my rating system, 1 star is for books I didn't finish and since I technicaly finished it (by skipping half the pages because the author thought it was necessary to repeat the same things from the 2 or 3 charactors perspectives) I could not give it the 1 star it deserves.

I recommend this captivating series to anyone who loves time travel stories. Reading them one after another was taking me from the 1800's to 2015 though the family that lived in a ranch and met through a mail order bride service. to the current day, Each story connects flawlessly to the previous one. Each was able to travel through the centuries by using two keys. Eventually the keys disappeared and Changed by Time introduced a new way of time travel. My only problem with the books was that there were several times when words suddenly had a letter thrown in or a word repeated. The book I just finished had more of these mistakes than the previous four. Even so, it's a great series (one more to go) and I know you're in for a treat!
Amazing storyline with lots of twists and turns. Great character development and an overall very well written story. I started reading this book a little to late in the evening and was mad at myself for not being able to finish. This story will capture your heart. I absolutely loved it and can not wait for the next in the series. Definitely recommend.
After everything Barbara had been through in her life she finally got her chance to met someone. To bad he was from 1816. Daniel hated being the Earl, running the estate and all that it involved. When a women shows up in his shed all that is enough To change. Clean romance. Love the characters and the storyline. This is a series and previous characters do appear in series books but they can be read as a stand-alone.
Barbara is Megan’s mother and now that Megan is to marry Keegan, Barbara begins to search for her own future. She finds a locket and somehow she travels to England in the 1900’s. She meets an Earl. When his sister becomes very ill Barbara tells Daniel that in her time this illness can be easily cured. The three of them travel to 2015 and his sister is cured. He takes his sister back but he tell Barbara that he will return.
Book 5 continues this series in an extremely satisfying manner. I personally cannot wait for the continuation so sign up for any updates because you won't want to miss another chapter. To the author, thank you for creating these books. They provide such enjoyment!
Fantastic story keeps on going, I absolutely love it. Most stories I read I would wish that there was more to it, a sequel or longer story. With this book they are continuing with the story line. The only thing I would like is to hear a little about the past characters and what they are doing. This book is a MUST READ, great writing.
Another great book in Zoe Matthew's Time travel Series. This time to a different location. I love this series and thoroughly enjoyed Barbara and Daniel's story. They were meant for each other. A very enjoyable read. I received an advances copy in exchange for my honest review.
Well written and interesting. Characters were believable and the plot line was clear.I love time travel books and always interested in finding others that are well written
Wow, this is definitely a series that gets better as it goes!
I really enjoyed this book, besides being about a older couple, her struggles after being raped as a young girl make it awesome! I hope we find out how Victoria came to be in one of these!
A wonderfully entertaining series. Enjoyable , likeable characters. Interesting story line. Sweetly romantic and refreshingly clean story. Worth a read . Looking forward to the next.
