Slime 101: How to Make Stretchy, Fluffy, Glittery & Colorful Slime!

Rate this book

Slime flies when you're having fun! It's time for kids to grab their partners in slime and have a goo-reat time. Easy instructions and helpful color photos show how to create glitter, glow-in-the-dark, bubble, neon, chalkboard, stress ball, metallic, and other types of slime. All that's needed are ordinary household items like glue, food coloring, and liquid starch. The book even includes a bonus recipe for oobleck inspired by Dr. Seuss! It's perfect for parties, sleepovers, and any other time boys and girls ages 7 to 12 feel the need to get slimey! Adult supervision suggested.

Kids love it. I don't recommend the recipes that involve paint unless you're doing it outside (and then add the paint SLOWLY). The one with water beads was really cool. Gets expensive fast if your kid wants to make them all. The rainbow slime turns brown in about 3 minutes if the kids really play with it (looks great in a jar indefinitely if it's not mixed). Good activity for kids ~5-13.

I haven't read this yet, but since I tend to make and play with slime a LOT, I figured I would add it to my books on Goodreads :)

Reconnaissance for a weekend with my 6yr old niece. A book that shows the what with no mention of the why. A missed opportunity for teaching critical thinking and problem solving skills. While strong in visual appeal, this books lacks critical content for learning how to make slime independent of the recipes provided. There is no elaboration on the various types of slime activators or how to troubleshoot when the slime does not come out as planned.
