This book is for you if… the descirption "science-fiction x young adult crossover a la x-men meets divergent" sounds tempting enough to give this a try. The heroine is exhausting, though, but it was worth it in my opinion.

⤐ There's one review I read that got me really pissed of. The author of said review described Talia as a tease because there were moments in the book where she got very intimate with her boyfriend but then realized she wasn't ready to have sex with him yet and thereby refused to do so. Lemme tell you something, missy. Even if a person were stark naked and rubbing themselves all over their partner(s), genitals up front, that person still has the right to change their mind - at any point. Nobody is obligated to have sex with anyone, no. matter. what. Everything else is called sexual assault and rape.
‘TOXIC is an agency within the government that utilizes each child's unique ability in the most advantageous way.’
Con:
⇢ assassin-trainee schedule is rough
⇢ family drama still traumatising
⇢ new teammate is agonisingly interesting
Pro:
⇢ finally new friends
⇢ squat solidarity is A+
⇢ new teammate is agonisingly interesting
Horses were born with horns, fish with three eyes and even two headed pigs were reported… Leaves began to glow at night, and the bark on trees grew a fuzzy coating, stinging anything that touched it
