MONTANA MARINE by Debra Parmley is a contemporary Romantic suspense novella set in the Brotherhood Protectors Kindle World. This novella is heavier on the suspense and intrigue plot while more on the sweet side romantically than other stories in the Brotherhood Protectors series.
Lucy Wood is hoping to only work for her demanding boss, Angelica Glory until she gets a job designing costumes in Hollywood. When Lucy starts receiving personal gifts from an unknown person, Lucy and Angelica are shipped out to an isolated ranch in Montana for protection.
Retired Marine Recon Gunnery Sergeant Jack Barr has retired from the service. He gets a job offer from the Brotherhood Protectors security service in Montana as a bodyguard for a pampered, spoiled Hollywood bombshell, Angelica Glory. Jack may appreciate Angelica’s looks, but he is captivated by the shy and tiny assistant. As their attraction grows, so does the obsession of the stalker to collect the woman of his dreams.
Jack and Lucy are very cute together, the big, alpha Marine and the shy, tiny assistant. The dialogue flows realistically and the romance is well written for the time constraints. The plot does have a nice little twist at the climax, but it was easy to guess. Though predictable, this is an enjoyable and fast read if you want a novella on the sweeter side from the Brotherhood Protectors series.

This is what I would normally call a "sweet" romance due to the lack of real sexual content....but to say this was a sweet story is totally wrong (not in a bad way!). It's a good story with great potential, but I would have loved for it to have been longer and more detailed. Yea, I know, it's a novella, but it jumped from scene to scene to scene rather quickly and left out a lot of detail that could have made this even better.
This had drama, intrigue, and suspense. So hated Angelica. Wish I had more of Jack. There wasn't enough of him to grow an attachment to him. Lucy was a good character. There was a hint there that she could be a playful character, but that was never fully brought out. She was portrayed more as someone that is shy and lets everyone walk all over her.
Good story concept. If looking for a lunch time read, this would be a good way to spend your lunch hour. It has it's sweet moments along with the suspense...but was pretty easy to figure out what was up. But still, it was an enjoyable read. The dialogue flowed nicely with the characters. This had drama, intrigue, and suspense. So hated Angelica. Wish I had more of Jack. There wasn't enough of him to grow an attachment to him. Lucy was a good character. There was a hint there that she could be a playful character, but that was never fully brought out. She was portrayed more as someone that is shy and lets everyone walk all over her.
Good story concept. If looking for a lunch time read, this would be a good way to spend your lunch hour. When I read Montana Marine I was blown away. This book had twists and turns that left you screaming DON'T. Angelica is the typical self centered movie star and thinks nothing of whats going on. A stalker in the wind and she thinks its cute. Course her type always does. Lucy is the sweet assistant that always bends over backwards for Angelica. Taking the brunt of all her snide comments. Before too long I was hoping Angelica would toot in public and embarrass herself. Face planting on the sidewalk would've made me giggle too. Jack of course is the die hard sexy hero of the Brotherhood Protectors. Hoping to ease into retirement was not so easy. He was called up to help guard these ladies. What better place that in the mountains of Montana. Who would find them way out there? Obviously the guy they ran away from in LA. He vows to protect and serve and will stop at nothing to catch this stalker or die trying. Then sparks fly between them and they can't not act. There is no changing that. When she is taken he won't stop until he finds her. She is his to love forever. No one is going to take away his happiness. So who is Jack's love? Will he find her in time to save her?

Ex Marine Jack “Gunny” Barr accepts a job as a bodyguard to protect actress Angelica Glory from a stalker, Angelica and her assistant Lucy are sent to a ranch in Montana for the best way to keep them safe. Angelica is not happy with being sent out of the limelight and continues to be a real pain, Lucy's job to keep her happy includes taking a lot of abuse from her. There is an attraction between Jack and Lucy but Angelica's constant demands hinder them in their new romance. This is a well written romantic suspense with plenty of surprises and twists and turns, great story and I really enjoyed reading this book.

When I first started reading this book I wasn't sure if I would make it through Angelica. She was a horrible person. Luckily she had her assistant that made the story work and Jack was just yummy, no wonder his nickname was bear.
Angelica and her assistant Lucy are sent to Montana to hide out until they can figure out who is stalker her.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the suspense and never once did I figure any thing out until close to the end.

Montana Marine may be a novella but Debra Parmley packs quite a story between the covers. Jack is hired to protect Lucy's boss, but ends up saving Lucy. This story is packed with so many twists that I couldn't put it down and ended up finishing it in one sitting. Great character development and full of action and suspense I would love to recommend this book to anyone who likes their romantic suspense.

Marine Recon Gunnery Sergeant Jack “Gunny” Barr is their new hire and his first job is to protect the famous actress Angelica Glory from her stalker. But with Angelica comes her assistant, Lucy Wood. And, despite Angelica's best efforts to seduce Jack (after all, what else is there to do for a movie star stuck in Montana besides lounge by the pool and seduce her hunk of a bodyguard?), he only has eyes for Lucy...
She notices him too, and notices him notice her, which she can hardly believe it... Why would he be interested in her when Angelica is there and willing? But as they spend more and more time together, the bigger the attraction gets. They are both single, so why not see where this goes?
But will Jack be able to save her from a derranged stalker?
I really liked Jack and Lucy. She's used to be invisible, but he sees her right away. That was so cool. But I wish the twist hadn't been so obvious from the start... In any case, if you're looking for a fast read with a shy heroine and an alpha hero with the ability to notice and appreciate her, and a knack for always saying the right thing, then I recommend giving Montana Marine a chance.

I have to say that I don’t know how Lucy could work for the movie star Angelica. Angelica is a self centered, attention grabber, that makes Lucy’s life miserable. Once Angelica gets a stalker, her agent hires The Brotherhood Protectors as bodyguards for Angelica. Angelica and Lucy have to go to Montana in the middle of nowhere to get away from the stalker. All Angelica can do is complain that there is nothing to do — translation is there are not hundreds of people around to feed her ego. One of the Protectors is Jack who is extremely handsome. I loved that he had no romantic interest in Angelica, but was attracted to Lucy. I loved the two of them together. The book is exciting as the stalker ups his game. I enjoyed the book and encourage you to read it. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Montana Marine (Brotherhood Protector World) by Debra Pramley is a page turner, twisted, keeps you guessing, sexy, steamy, sitting on the edge of your seat book. This one will keep you guessing! Sergeant Jack Barr "Gunny" is one of the team members from the Brotherhood Protector Bodygaurd hire to protect " spoil brat" actress Angelica. She has a stalker or does she? Lucy Wood her poor, down trodden assistant is jumping through hoops to keep Angelica calm and happy while they are hiding out in Montana. Jack and Lucy are so attracted to each other that I thought my e-reader was going to burst into flames. Is the stalker after Angelica or is "Gunny" looking in the wrong direction. The last couple of chapters will literally have you glued to your e-reader. I did not see it coming!

Really enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down once I started reading. Lucy works as an Assistant for the well known actress Angelica who has a major attitude. She wants all the attention and doesn't like that anyone else gets any. I love the Brotherhood Protectors and I think you will too.

It's a good story, it was just really long and very slow. No steam, but a decent read. For safety: the h does get her breasts touched without permission, descriptive, but that's as far as it goes as she was rescued.

When you first get this book, you will want to stare at the cover, I mean, because that’s what I first did. I mean, I tried not to, but just wow. How can you not. I mean, seriously, how can you not? A marine? Without his shirt? I mean, seriously!
Now, before I get hot and steamy just talking about the cover, I need stop and tell you about the book, right? Yeah so let’s do that.
If you read or subscribe to my blog, or know me for that matter, you know Debra Parmley is one of my frequented authors. I can’t help it.
She’s an Ohioan, and we Ohio girls stick together, even when we still don’t live there anymore, our heart still does. That’s point number one. Number two, Ms. Parmley knows how to write. She pulls you in within the first chapter, and you are not going to put the boo down, because you just need and want to know what is going to happen next, because you are right there with her as she writes. And I like that about her technique. So, yeah, I am one f her biggest fans, she doesn’t know it yet, so whatever you do. Don’t tell her. I can’t have her head swelling up or anything.
Now, in this book, were going to meet Gunnery Sgt. Jack Barr. He has retired, and returned to Texas, when the Brotherhood Protectors bodyguard service of Montana decides they want to hire him. They need him to protect a beautiful actress named Angelica Glory who is being stalked.
Now we all know it is not unusual for actors, actresses, musicians and even writers to get stalked. They have a fan base, and people just must have their hair, and follow them around like groupies, because they seem to have a need, oh and no life.
Angelica’s assistant is Lucy Wood, who is very shy, and the job seems to be somewhat overwhelming for her.
In the meantime, Angelica and Lucy, along with the body guards, are sent to Montana to lie low for a while, in order to either draw out the stalker, or cause the person to become bored and maybe disappear.
Angelica and the sexy Marine lay by the pool, and soak up the sun. She drinks her rum and cola’s while Jack watches her, and tries to also keep an eye out for the tentative stalker at the same time. Both Jack and Angelica are sexy, and end up drawn to one another beauty.
In the meantime, the stalker, becomes exceedingly jealous, because only he can have the girl of his dreams, not someone else. And this stalker sees the romance blooming between Jack and Angelica and this lights a fire under him.
This is where I am going to stop and leave you, in Montana, where an angry stalker could ruin the perfect romance. Because from here, you need to decide if you want to buy this Kindle Worlds book for yourself, and see where the excitement leads.
I personally give this book a five-star rating myself, because I enjoyed it immensely and found it to be quite a satisfying read. I was excited with the romance, and the need of the stalker of as well. It made me want to keep reading, and that is exactly what I did. This is another exceptional piece if work by the wonderful Debra Parmely.

When I read Montana Marine I was blown away. This book had twists and turns that left you screaming DON'T. Angelica is the typical self centered movie star and thinks nothing of whats going on. A stalker in the wind and she thinks its cute. Course her type always does. Lucy is the sweet assistant that always bends over backwards for Angelica. Taking the brunt of all her snide comments. Before too long I was hoping Angelica would toot in public and embarrass herself. Face planting on the sidewalk would've made me giggle too. Jack of course is the die hard sexy hero of the Brotherhood Protectors. Hoping to ease into retirement was not so easy. He was called up to help guard these ladies. What better place that in the mountains of Montana. Who would find them way out there? Obviously the guy they ran away from in LA. He vows to protect and serve and will stop at nothing to catch this stalker or die trying. Then sparks fly between them and they can't not act. There is no changing that. Seeing this book and finding out that I had read and enjoyed a book in this series by another author (that I love) I decided to give this one a try. I have not read this author before and as I read I had many thoughts but in the end I decided that the writing style and the way the story was told might appeal most to readers in the YA or NA age group and perhaps also to older readers who like simpler somewhat sweeter stories. I also decided, after looking at the reviews for this book and others in the series, that if you like an author that has written a book for this series you will probably enjoy the book that they have contributed - if not – it might not be you cup of tea but you still might enjoy the read.

This is my first book by this author and I must say I enjoyed it.
Her description of the two female characters is so well done the reader can picture them and how they interact. Jack is an alpha male that we would all like to run into. He is strong, handsome and has that protective streak that makes you feel safe.
This story has that insta attraction piece between Lucy and Jack but there is also a little suspense with the stalker story line and a twist as well.
I will try another book by this author.

This is a fun, short read. Perfect for squeezing in some reading time between carting kids around to appointments and lessons or just whenever you find a few moments to yourself. Gunny didn't want to leave the marines but after his serious injuries, he had no choice. At least he had some friends from the hospital to offer him a job in the Brotherhood Protectors. Angelica is a horrible and distasteful prima donna. Lucy, her assistant, is the exact opposite. She is a quiet dormouse of a girl who will do whatever she is told without question even if the request is completely unreasonable. Not your typical heroine of the Brotherhood Protectors. I would have liked someone with a little more back bone. Maybe if the story were longer and she had more time to develop she could have shown her stronger side. The book is full of suspense, twists and turns to keep you entertained and turning pages.

I received an ARC of this book and I voluntarily chose to review it. A short easy read worth your time and effort. I encourage each and everyone to get this book. You have a stalker, Marine and a girl who has no clue.... This is the first time I have read a Debra Parmley but it will not be my last. I enjoyed this book.

Montana Marine a quick read.
Jack and Lucy are quite a couple. I enjoyed their interactions but the rest of the story was not as strong. Jack was a very strong character and it was nice seeing his attachment to Lucy. I enjoyed this book but wished the story was stronger.

His first assignment is a glorified babysitting job, a Hollywood Actress has got herself a stalker.
Angelica is an absolute nightmare. She wants her own, pouts, screams and has a healthy obsession with alcohol! Her put upon assistant Lucy has zero life of her own. But when she and Angelica are packed off to Montana to escape the stalker, her day is brightened by her instant attraction to Jack, which seems to be reciprocated.
But with Lucy getting disturbing texts from a wannabe boyfriend, Jack might have more than one woman to protect!
Great story, plenty of twists and Jack is eyecandy with a heart of gold and muscles of steel! Lucy is such a sweetheart and Angelica...well I'd never tire of punching her in the face! Great read.

When I first began to read this book I was a little skeptical, but as I read further I was hooked. I enjoyed reading this one once the story moved further along. The descriptions of the setting and characters were very well written, which made for a great read. This is one author I look forward to reading more from.

Another great book in this series and one I did not want to put down . Marine Recon Gunnery Sergeant Jack “Gunny” Barr retired and returns to Texas where he goes to work for The Brotherhood Protectors which are bodyguards for different people. His job is to protect actress Angelica Glory, who has a stalker and her assistant Lucy Wood, who Angelica treats as far as I was concerned very badly! Lucy and Jack start to have feelings for each other but the stalker is getting closer. What happens? I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

This story and characters were well developed. I did find that some of it was predictable. The blond bombshell actress was overbearing and easy to dislike. Lucy, the personal assistant is very conscientious in her job duties, but rather naive when it comes to Grant, a bartender that she met at a nightclub.
There is mystery, suspense and some sex included in this story. I recommend it with a warning that if you are uncomfortable with some sexual context, then skip over those parts, because the overall story is interesting and well done.

I loved the h and H but hated that Angelic how ever you spell her name what a bitch, I really wish she would have gotten hers in the end. I wanted our h to have eventually have told her off. I figured it out half way through but still enjoyed the storyline. A lot of love between the main characters and the story flowed easily. I can't say anymore or I'll give spoilers away. Grab this book it's great read.

Former marine, Jack is called in to join the Brotherhood Protectors in protecting actress Angelica Glory and her assistant Lucy, they find themselves on a ranch in Montana. Spoilt Angelica is not happy with the situation and makes her displeasure known at every opportunity but with a stalker after her, she doesn't have much of a choice. Quiet and unassuming assistant Lucy is very often on the end of Angelica's anger but she has very much caught the attention of the former marine.
This was a case of inner beauty winning out in this short and sweet read. Angelica doesn't get a second glance from Jack who is instantly drawn to Lucy. Danger is never far away which adds an extra dimension to this book. I love the completeness of Debra's shorter reads - I never feel short changed and always come away feeling satisfied. Although I always want more!!! If you are looking for a quick fix read then this is one for you.
