SHE'S A VIRGIN. SHE'S MY NEW NEIGHBOR. I'M GOING TO DESTROY HER...
My name is Mason and my rules are pretty simple. I get what I want. You get what you need. And then you get out of my bed, my apartment, and out of my life.
My new neighbor is a beautiful, innocent woman named Violet. She's so pure it drives me wild. I can't stop thinking about her... so I play with her a little. I test her boundaries. I make sure every time I bring a woman home, she knows. She hears the moans and screams through the wall. She blushes when she sees me. I know she likes it. I know she's curious about my reputation. It's only a matter of time before I finally take what I want from her.
Her cherry's untouched and I'm f*cking hungry for something sweet...

OK, is this for real? Some people really wanna read about this douche-bag??!
I'm not dissing the author's ability to write a truly "male" MMC. That's where 2 of the stars come from. The MMC was such an awesomely disgusting (mean) dickhead, it left no room for him to be worthy as a ROMANTIC lead unless you're into humiliation. He was so OTT he wasn't believable. It just made the FMC look weak to beg him to take her vCard. He banged SEVERAL women, literally, against their connecting bedroom wall so that the FMC would hear him. I get that this is a hate-fuck plot; and I know he was written to be an ass, and I love them (Vicious LJ Shen, Hate F*@k Ainsley Booth), but there's nothing redeemable about this MMC and that makes the book a disaster for me. The MMC is also a ticking time bomb of epic assault charges waiting to happen. He gets out of charges TWICE but can't quit hitting men (who are admittedly assholes) that piss him off.
And that cliffy. That earned .5 stars. Not because it was any good. (Because if it's who I think it is, she's supposed to be dead, folks. And if it's not her, it's out of left field bullshit.) But kudos to the author for forcing it into 2 unnecessary books. At least this is on KU.
Rating - 2.5 stars
Cover - That guy is just not my cuppa anything and he doesn't match the description of the MMC in any way. Well, he does look like an asshole.
FMC - Desperate, sad, lonely virgin. Doormat. I don't even feel ashamed for throwing it out there. I wanted more from her considering the MMC. He didn't even have to pursue her. He made no changes for her. He did nothing to earn her interest. He made women scream his name so loud she'd hear it in her apartment. Would you put up with that? Would you counsel a friend to pursue that? No? That's what happens with this FMC. This level of asshole MMC needs to work for his FMC. If he doesn't, I can't see what makes her special. He ran every time he should have stayed and fought.
MMC - He wants everyone to hate him. He succeeded. I hated him. He's the kind of asshole you FEEL SORRY for his girlfriend/wife/lover. Even his epiphany doesn't feel believable. That's where this lost me because I love assholes. But he can't be the kind of uncaring asshole he is and just suddenly be in lurve.
Plot - I think I covered that already.
HEA - No. If the sequel was available the day I read this, I might have read it. Now, not sure I care.
Smut - Multiple OW sex scenes meant to crush the FMC's resistance. Because that works in real life. No OW after they kiss. It had moments of hotness but the MMC kind of ruined most of those moments with his thoughts or actions.
Read with Mo. She's not a Jax fan. But she'll still read my picks. Guess that's why we've been friends since before she married my brother. Read with B.B. She won't read another of my picks until I read some cavity inducing Regency BS. Grr...she's lucky we're sisters. Thanks for making me do this Mo. I better see you on here soon. Miss you Lex.

I have no idea where to start... this book was so good! I would definitely give this book 10 stars if I could. Every time I read one of Jaxson Kidman's books, I think that there is no way in hell he could top it, yet, once again he has out done himself. HATE ME is one fantastic read that had me on the edge of my seat. Mr. Kidman does a great job of pulling you into the story and allows you feel every emotion that the characters are going through. This bad boy romance story is unique and a little on the dark side. It's raw, gritty, edgy, intense, unpredictable, heartbreaking, and oh so hot! This is one of those books that stays with you for days after reading it. Warning: Prepare yourself for an ending that will shock you and leave you gasping for breath.
I volunteered to review an advanced readers copy of this book.
What a messed up dude! Was pretty entertaining to read his thoughts. However this book stretched the limits of bad boy manwhore to its tether. He was a complete psycho if you ask me! I was actually LOL at some of the shit he pulled. But by some miracle, the author managed to squeeze some sympathy out of me and the hero did become more human to me at some point.
Roller Coaster ride! And an epic cliffhanger! Go Jaxson Kidman!!
Deliciously filthy..... Mason is a smooth/dirty talking player. His goal to make you love/hate him. He gets what he wants and what he really wants is Violet...her innocence.
I loved this book. Mason is devilishly dirty and such a hot alpha male (swoon), and Violet may be innocent but she is strong willed and has an attitude that may just rival Mason's. The ending leaves you hanging. Big time! Totally worth it though. Can't wait to jump into book two and see how Mason and Violet end up.
I don't hate Jaxson Kidman, well, not all the time, not until the end of Hate Me when I was presented with a damn cliffhanger. A cliffhanger I wasn't expecting, and it threw me. I am officially really mad at him now! But, I still love him. And I love Mason, and I hate him, too. Mason is a rude, crude, obnoxious manwhore of a man who makes women hate him for the way he treats them. He fucks them and leaves them. He's a messed up dude, big time. But, underneath it all, he has a heart. A really damaged heart, but it's in there somewhere.
Then he meets his new neighbor, Violet. And her innocence calls out to him. He wants her, badly. He knows she'll end up hating him, too, though. In fact, he wants her to hate him. He takes Violet, and he makes her fall in love with him. But first, he makes her hate him. He's a really bad neighbor. He plays obnoxious games with her, the women he brings home are so loud, and his bed is constantly banging into the wall they share. Yep he's that kind of neighbor. But, he knows he's getting to her. And he gets her too. Damn does he get her...in all kinds of dirty, sexy ways. He takes her cherry, nice, I know, but that's how he puts it, not my words, his.
And eventually, he starts feeling things for her, actually starts falling in love, even though he wants her to keep hating him. "I need you to keep hating me," he whispered. "Why?" "It's the only way this works. You can't go too far, Violet." Maybe I want to," I said. "Even if I get hurt, at least I can say I tried." "You're going to get hurt no matter what," Mason warned. "It's easier to hurt when you hate than when you love."
Sigh...like I said, Mason is a messed up dude. He's messed up because of the losses he's suffered. Losses he never completely explains to Violet. But it's those losses that come back to haunt Mason and Violet at the end, when that crappy cliffhanger happens. Ugh, cliffhanger!!! Jaxson, that sequel better be coming damn quickly!
You'll fall in love with Mason and Violet. But, you'll hate Mason, too, because that's how he wants it, it's how he deals with life. Poor guy. Now if the second part would magically appear on my Kindle, I'd be a happy woman and go back to only loving Jaxson, not hating him...
ARC review For honest review. Mason wants everyone to hate him. Violet is a virgin and just trying to find herself . Their story was very awesome . I loved everything but the ending my jaw dropped .so 10 stars .
**This book is NOT a standalone – It is a part one with a cliff hanger****
The up side? It makes it novel length. The down side? I wish authors (or reviewers) would warn people of this OR simply put everything together at once and release it, book and pricing. Moving on.
Well written? Yes Hot Love Scenes? Yes Emotional? Sort of HEA? Sort of
Normally I go over both characters individually, but this time I’m going to go over the book as a whole since it was really just one big jumble of stuff, literally stuff, lots and lots of stuff. When I finish a book in one day, I sometimes have to step back and have to ask myself “did I do this because the story was great or because writing was great?” While the answer may seem simple, sometimes it’s not. Sometimes the answer is one, sometimes the answer is both. This story was a prime example.
Yes I was invested in the story of Mason and Violet, but I’m going to go against the popular opinion here and say the relationship wasn’t that great, but could have been. In all honesty the relationship is very immature and doesn’t seem to get to where it’s going. First it’s based off playful banter and pranks back and forth, it progresses to oral sex with losing Violets virginity as the ultimate prize to both given and taken. While we see Mason come to terms with his feelings for Violet, while struggling to let go of old beliefs left with him from a previous failed relationship, he still doesn’t seem to mature to the point where it needs to be. The same can be said about Violet. She’s been hurt and has closed herself off, focusing on herself, but soon realizes that she’s done this to protect herself. Her new neighbor moves in and challenges her on different levels. He’s the hero that rescued her in her time of need, but she soon learns that’s not who or what he ever wants to be. Mason on the other hand desperately wants to be hated as that’s him form of protection against the world. This does make for an unusual roller coaster ride that is quite enjoyable.
While they do get to know one another, for Mason he seems to give up more information about himself and Violet does share parts of her life, going as far as letting him meet her parents. This would have been great if both of the characters would have grown past the issues they both had or addressed them in some that lessened by the end of the book, but they didn’t. It resurfaced in a way that made me go? Seriously? Where is the growth? After everything this is where we’re at? I would have to say the last few chapters of the book (no spoilers here) left me severely disappointed in both Violet and Mason, but more so in Violet. I didn’t understand where she was coming from, at all. Her reactions were completely out of the realm of the character that was created in the 200 some pages before. I was actually angry because it was so left field. My anger and disbelief only continue as the resolution was simply childish. Instead of really talking it out the answer is more banter, a stupid prank that fails for some strange reason, some serious lines and then sex. Then we move forward to the cliff hanger.
If I had one problem with this book, it’s rather small. As an avid reader I have a problem with books that have to rely solely on sex to move a story forward or make it the base of the story. What I mean by this is that sex takes up over 70% or so of the book, instead of developing the characters, we just find out how many times and ways they can do it. I love a book with great hot love scenes, several of them in fact, but a story should not need this to draw a reader in and keep their interest. It should go deeper, that if I removed the sex scenes and left a few the books would still remain intact and fabulous. (Kristen Ashley used to be a master – check out her Mountain Man or Dream Man series. Omg Tack - fans self. But lately she has fallen victim to this in this reader’s opinion) this book borders on this, it’s not overly done, but just a smidge of almost being too much. Don’t fill the space between with sex, fill it with substance. But if that is what you’re looking for, look no further.
For being borderline over sexed and not warning readers that this was book with a cliffhanger (along with another purchase needed) Removed 1 full star for the cliff hanger simply because I don’t appreciate it when the book/story is only 260 pages long, I didn’t like the fad years ago, don’t like it now.
First let me say that the build up marketing to Hate Me by Jaxson Kidman was FANTABULOUS! You are going to have to like Jaxson Kidman's author page on Facebook and dig a little to read up on it, but I'll try to summarize a bit.
Jaxson started getting these emails from Mason Hateme stating he was all that and if given the opportunity, Jaxson's fans would leave him and follow Mason where ever. Keep in mind that none, zero, nada of Jaxson's fans knew what he was working on. Mason touted that we would HATE him...and yet our deepest, darkest souls would end up LOVING him.
(I hate admitting anytime a man is right...but Mason was right)
There was even an event planned where Jaxson and Mason would go head to head throwing barbs. I sat back and watched the magic happen...I had a good idea where this was going.
Right at the end someone asked to see a picture of Mason...to put up or shut up.
And that is when Mason threw down his picture...the cover of HATE ME.
Understandably, some of Jaxson's fans were upset...they had invested time in the Jaxson/Mason war, tossing insults and posting support of their favorite author at Mason. They were emotionally and unequivocally invested. But overall, I think his fans were OK with what happened and they shifted gears from defense to GIVE ME THAT BOOK NOW!
I was salivating...because there is nothing I love more than a book that is going to throw me around emotionally...and this seemed right up my alley!
I sped through this book. Show me. Show me where I will Hate you, Mason.
Did I hate him? Yes. This man is the exact definition of MAN WHORE. He is rude, obnoxious, and self-serving...though he does have that ladies first mentality...so not totally self-serving.
But did I love him? Lord help me, YES! And do I hate myself for it? Sort of...not really. He is amazing! Under all of that bravado, sits a man who women are going to fall in love with over and over again.
For me this book experience has basically been all about the build up...and then the release. It's been a total experience and I literally feel bad for anyone who has missed out on it.
There is actually a leading lady in this book...though you'd never guess from my review. That is just how much of my headspace has been taken up with Mason.
But Violet is great! She is strong and determined and she handles Mason like a pro...a virgin pro. I loved her spirit and she is the best match up for him!
And guess what? There will be more Mason. So read HATE ME now so you don't have to rush later!
I have no pre-order links for you for this book! Hate Me releases June 8th.
My best advice is to stalk Jaxson Kidman in hopes he drops pre-order links soon!
Lamplight Review and Promotion is giving Hate Me by Jaxson Kidman 5 stars.
All I can say is wow, Mason is a real a$$ and he’s not afraid to prove it and he gloats about it.
Women were objects to me. They all came with a timeframe and nothing more.
Mason meets Violet when he goes to the restaurant she works at for a business meeting. He ends up stepping in to defend her from an angry customer. And he ends up in jail overnight.
Mason gets quite the surprise when he finds out who his new neighbor is. And let’s say that Violet quickly discovers just how mean and dirty Mason can be. He has such a filthy, dirty mouth and he brings women home every night. Violet has had to endure listening to women scream his name through the walls. And for some reason it's turning her on. Mason wants Violet and he won’t stop until he has her.
It’s okay to hate me...but you don’t have to resist me. She was going to be possessed and I was the devil himself ready to play.
When he gets a call from Violet, he’s surprised but he goes to her apartment hoping to finally get what he's wanted for quite some time, that is until she reveals a secret. He also discovers why she may have called him. He ends up doing something totally out of character for him and it leaves him a little confused. He needs to get her off his mind. After a conversation with Violet, Mason gets very spooked. Could she have figured him out? Can she break through his tough shell?
Stick to hate and lust. It’s easier that way.
I loved this book Mason was such a dirty dirty man. And boy he had quite the hot and sexy scenes and the man is packing. Reading about these two was great, I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next. And Mason didn’t sugar coat anything, he pretty much laid everything right out there and didn’t care who he hurt with his words. Violet was a strong woman who has been deeply hurt in the past and as she learned more about Mason she wanted him. And we have a cliffhanger that left me wanting so much more. I now have to impatiently wait for the next book in the series. Jaxson Kidman has done it again, 1-click and get started today.
I received an arc of this book for an honest review. I am in the minority here but the title of this book is Hate Me and this author does a great job making you hate Mason. I never warmed up to him. This is book one of a two book series and ends on a cliffhanger. It is written in alternating pov’s. The writing lacked a lot of character depth with Mason coming off as hard, stiff and cold. I also never had a clear picture of the main characters. Only that Mason is tall has brown eyes, scruff and dimples. Violet has blue eyes. This review contains mild spoilers.
Violet is a waitress in a restaurant that Mason is at when a customer gets upset over uncooked chicken and he comes to her rescue. He ends up in jail after he decks the guy telling her she owes him. Days later when moving into her new apartment she finds out he is now her neighbor. The one who keeps her up at night with his headboard banging against her bedroom wall. Mason owns a custom motorcycle shop and has suffered loss in his past so he treats everyone terribly to keep them from getting close to him. He wants everyone to hate him so he is in control and never gets hurt again. This goes way over the top for me to the point it was painful to continue reading.
Violet, is an app designer and after being fired from the waitress job lives off her savings until the app she created with her friend is launched. Mason continues to torment her, telling her he only wants her “cherry” knowing she is innocent and she eventually gives into him. Mason is really awful to her, saying and doing terrible things wanting her to hate him. This didn't really go over well with me. No matter how hot he is no one lets someone treat them the way he does then jumps into bed giving their virginity away. There just wasn’t a romantic connection between the characters, lust only. This book just wasn’t for me and ends on a cliffhanger with a surprise visitor at the door. The second book in the series may change my mind about Mason.
This was quite a sensational and sensuous story and one that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. The book had lots of twists and turns to keep it interesting and while Mason goes out of his way to alienate everyone with his persona, I was enamoured with his character. Violet on the other hand is the ying to Mason’s yang if he can ever let her in.
Davis was Violet’s first love, but he betrays her with his infidelity. Moving to another city, Violet meets Victoria and together they create a successful and lucrative App business. Mason intervenes when Violet is harassed by a customer while she is serving at a restaurant; but even so, she still loses her job. Violet soon finds out that the obnoxious Mason is her next-door neighbour, but she is curious about him, particularly when she sees women always coming and going from his apartment. Mason didn’t grow up with much, but after making a promise to himself, he is now the owner of a well-established custom-made motor cycle business. Mason will do whatever it takes to protect his business, even handing it over to his friend Hudson when circumstances dictate. But Mason has secrets and all he wants to do is make people hate him; he never wants to feel love, but with Violet he cannot help himself; she is an exception. No matter how many times Mason tells Violet he will hurt her, she never relents. Violet is surprised when she hears from Davis; both that his grandmother is dying and also the fact he has broken off his engagement. The rapport between Violet and Mason continually fluctuates throughout and their jealousy of each other is difficult to contain; a relationship of hate and love until an unexpected visitor arrives to see Mason and this is more than Violet can bear. There is lots going on in this book and all of it is riveting, but it ends on a cliff-hanger.
I certainly would have no hesitation in recommending this book, if this is your sort of genre. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Just when I begin to relax about the relationship between Mason and Violet, expecting hearts and roses for the HEA, Jaxson throws a wrench into the mix. I’m surprised and thoroughly off-kilter with what happens at the end. Wow. I did not expect that twist. And now, my panties are in a bunch because I’m in desperate need to know what happens to Mason and Violet, and their budding relationship.
But we are warned. Nothing about Mason is easy and sweet. Mason’s all about quick hookups, motorcycles and beer. He doesn’t do sweet and gentle, like his innocent neighbor. He’s cocky and unabashed when it comes to getting what he wants in the bedroom…or on kitchen counter...or..you get the idea. He just wants to pop a cherry and move on. Mason attempts to deter Violet from falling for him, or else, she’ll end up getting hurt. Life growing up hadn’t been easy for Mason, it was much easier for him to make people hate him.
“It’s easier to hurt when you hate than when you love.”
Violet is drawn to her next door neighbor. Never mind he’s the guy who saved her at the restaurant she worked, but from which she got fired anyway. She knows there is more to Mason, he’s got a world of hurt, something she can relate to with her ex-boyfriend’s betrayal. It is so easy to love/hate Mason with the constant mixed signals he sends her way. But she can’t resist the hunky, sexy, brooding man. Will she have enough fortitude and love to save her heart from getting hurt at the end?
Hurt Me is a winner, emotionally raw with some funny parts, filthy, sexy, dirty talk….oh, did I mention filthy-mouthed?
My favorite funny quote:
“Your innocent bedroom smells like rotten dirty sex. All your dolls are probably still blushing.”
Yeah, Mason can make a sailor blush. Can’t wait for the next book. I hate/love these two characters. *sigh*
I received and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Jaxson Kidman has out done himself with this time! The promo for this book has been nothing short of epic! And this story out does that within the first few pages. Freaking amazing from the first word to the last! Mason wants everyone to hate him, he's got the skills to get any woman he wants and uses it well only to want them hating him when he's had his fill! I wanted to hate him but his arrogance pulled me in, I'm a sucker for the ones who think they are lost causes or damaged by their pasts. His new neighbor knocks the wind out of his sails a bit but that arrogance has him determined she'll hate him after he's taken something she's never given before. The feels in this story are off the chart, so tangible you can almost taste them. Off the charts smoking hot, the push and pull between Mason and Violet will have you swooning one minute and wanting to throat punch him the next. If you love a book that has the feels or books that give you characters that feel so real you can almost touch them or you love the twists and turns, push and pull dynamic then this is the book of the year for you! This book keeps you on your toes, throws you curveballs and keeps you guessing right until the end before you get the biggest omg moment of your life! This book is part 1 or a 2 book series, thank the lord Jaxson is releasing book 2 a week after this one because I'm seriously going to be chomping at the bit for my next instalment. The ending of book 1 stopped my heart completely. One click this book right now, you won't regret it I promise you! This book has me hook line and sinker and ready to relive it all over again. Phenomenal must read from an author who bares his soul more and more with each new release so much so you can feel it seeping from the pages!
Well for f**k’s sake, how the heck am I supposed to put into words just how amazing this book is? I am totally flabbergasted! Jaxson Kidman, you are quite simply epic!! From the very first sentence, I was on tenterhooks, by the end of the first chapter, the hairs on the back of my neck were stood on end and I just knew that I had something very special in my hands. Now, don’t get me wrong Mason isn’t the sort of guy that you are going to love every single minute of the read, there are times when you will wish that you could reach into the page and wring his neck but bear with him because there is more to this man than first appearances would suggest. I suppose some would suggest that the term man whore could have been penned just for Mason and I agree he had the whole lifestyle down pat, but that wasn’t all that he was, so it was obvious that when he eventually fell it was going to be of epic proportions, and tahdah!!! I give you Violet! She was just the woman to wrangle his sexy ass into line, she had an answer for every eventuality that being with a guy like Mason could ever throw at her and she was able to handle him with absolute aplomb, he never saw this unyielding, feisty force of nature coming and that made her impact in his life all the more fascinating. Emotionally this hits hard, it kept me on my toes right up until the very end, when it took a turn I hadn’t expected and I felt floored! Really ladies just you wait!!
I do not know about anyone else but I did NOT really hate Mason, but he sure did confuse the hell out of me. I couldn't decide if I felt bad for what he had been through or I wanted to smack him upside his head for being such a turd.
I know Mason said he wanted Violet to hate him, but I'm not sure his plan was expertly executed because so many other things happened. I actually liked both Violet and Mason together, they brought fun out in one another, now when I say fun I mean fun in their own twisted way.
I will say I did spend most of the book waiting for them to actually get together and then the ending left me puzzled. It is a cliffhanger, but instead of it being "oh wow what next?", it was more like "darn it Mason, what the hell did you do now?"
I did find Violet's reaction to Davis very annoying, I get she needed closure, but she I think she went about the wrong way and Mason was sure as hell not loving it.
I guess my only issue with the book was that it took so long to get to the good stuff and no I'm not referring to sexy time even though there is a lot of that.
Also just a side note, but not sure about Violet's financial situation for someone who was fired and said to be living off her savings, she had a lot more money than I expected; enough to try to find a new better place (more expensive) after she just moved into her new place (Mason was being a turd neighbor).
Mason and Violet- They maybe two different people- no one can dispute that, but somehow the two of them together have a magnetism that some people only dream of. Don't get me wrong; Mason is not an easy person to get along with- in fact he works extremely hard to spread negativity- hate is his happy place- women are a disposable resource, that he has no problem acquiring whenever feels the need, which can be nightly. Meeting Violet is a shock to his system, as well as hers! Always the good girl, with a plan, still stuck in high school mode, stinging the breakup feeling like it's all her fault, is about to be saved by the bad boy- They thought their lives were messed up before? Life just got messier- but what a ride it will be! OK. I have to admit < hides face> I was partially convinced going in I probably wouldn't like this book, I am so glad I can say that is NOT the case! I was so wrong. I loved this book, it exceeded my expectations- was not at all what I thought it would be- this book has great characters with hilarious, sexy n sweet dialogue it kept the story moving along so well interesting twists and white-hot scenes I was pretty sure my whole body was red! I had a gambit of emotions while reading this page turner-I am waiting impatiently for the next book- Jaxson Kidman killed it! I wish I could give Hate Me more than 5 stars!
Just when I think Jaxson Kidman's books can't get any better he goes and outdoes himself! I absolutely loved Hate Me!! The promos for this book were amazing and sparked an interest in this book. Some of Jaxson's fans hated Mason from the get go and others fell for his cocky arrogance. Hate Me pulled me in from the beginning and kept me riveted until the very end. Mason will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride! You will hate him, love him, curse him and cheer him on. Mason is a total a$$hole and makes no excuses for it. He believes it's easier to spread hate than love and makes it his goal that women hate him. When he meets Violet she stirs something in him. Violet may be innocent but she is spirited and determined and goes toe to toe with Mason. She sees behind Mason's arrogance and wants to know more about him even though Mason fights it.The push and pull between Violet and Mason will keep you guessing until the very end. The chemistry between Violet and Mason is Kindle melting hot!! There are moments when you will laugh out loud, lust after Mason, curse him, want to punch him, fall for him or even kind of hate him. This book will definitely make you feel something. Hate Me is a definite must read and I promise you won't regret reading it. Love him or hate him you won't forget Mason!!
I was hooked on this book the moment it hit my hot little hands. It took me through twists and turns that I was never ready for.
Violet is a young entrepreneur who also happens to have this small issue of being a virgin still.
Mason is a smart mouthed sexy bad boy who can literally talk a woman straight out of her panties. Violet and Mason are neighbors and ever since he watched her move in and saw a spilled box that contained her panties and vibrator he knew that she was going to be his. As long as she hates him. Mason hasn't had it easy on life, his parents died young and he had alli of this anger that he didn't know what to do with. So he made everyone hate him. It made getting through life so much easier.
Now Violet though, she had a pretty standard upbringing with two amazingly loving parents. However, she had a douchebag for a boyfriend who ended up breaking her heart.
I don't want to give much away because you NEED to read this book, but when Macon and Violet come together sparks fly. The earth moves and shakes. And you start to question yourself, do you love Mason? Or do you hate him?
Another absolutely fantastic story written by Jaxson Kidman! Soooo ready for Hate Me Again!!
"Hate Me" is just what Mason wants from people, just to hate him. His personality and actions make it easy for many to do just that, including his next door neighbor, Violet. Mason is raw, gritty, a total a**hat and flaunts it to everyone, especially Violet. His escapades with his nightly noises of sex that Violet hears through thin walls is becoming a turn-on for her. The total bad boy, uncaring of any consequences to himself or to others, Mason is the guy you love to hate. And that is just what he wants. Or does he? There is more to Mason than what he shows to most people. The hate/love relationship he begins to have with his virginal neighbor may be just the thing that will bring Mason to his knees. It may turn out to be a love/hate relationship that he didn't see coming. The book is a must read for those of you that love their sex hot, scenes explicit and a guy that has it all except the one thing that will tame him. There is a cliffhanger ending, but I am looking forward to reading "Hate Me Again". I have always been very vocal on cliffhanger endings, but I knew it had one before reading. I only ask to know beforehand and I did. I would like to thank Jaxson Kidman for gifting me "Hate Me". My opinion is my own. This is mine 4.5 Stars!
So, Jaxson Kidman who we all really should know by now is Willy Wonka – did it again. Although he did slightly change, he’s MO this time to confuse you. He definitely has the chocolate river there again but did he let you on the boat – NOOOOO – he made you scream from the side lines trying to warn them what they should do – of course he made sure that the boat in the chocolate river was sound proof, normally he put you right in there with them not on this one – I mean surely he could have given one little spoon for one little sip of that chocolate river but nope. And the title I really think it had two reasons I mean sure your going to hate a particular character, but I’m pretty sure the title is to hate – Willy Wonka (aka Jaxson) I mean not only does he not let you have the full chocolate river experience this time, no he treats you like Violet that ate the chewing gum and he’s little Oompa Loompa’s roll you right out the book while you’re wonder WTF just happened. But the thing is Mr Wonka I’m going to eat my chewing gum and enjoy it because the next book is already out.
Mason is muscles and sex appeal. But he also needs women like they’re analgesics. And every woman believes she’ll be the one to tame him, just to hate him when he eventually gives them the boot.
The title of the book is therefore aptly “Hate Me”.
As a reader it was difficult to hate him, but also not to hate him. I understood his need for self preservation and also that Mason was a chilli chocolate underneath layers of lava and rock.
Violet seeps into his heart and for a moment all goes well. Despite the cheesy ups and downs and some stupid knee jerk reactions along the way.
Unfortunately the book ends with a cliffhanger. Honestly, I don’t have the energy to battle through Mason and Violet’s continued melodrama, stupid mistakes and avoidance again. Life is too short to run. Life is too short to not sit and talk. If you’re old enough and tough enough to be running your own business, beating people up and sexing it, then you need the emotional intelligence to also have a proper conversation and work things out.
There is a lot of sex appeal in a man and woman that are willing to fearlessly address their problems head on and logically.
Holy amazing! I loved the latest from Jaxson Kidman, but now I can't wait to see what happens next for these two! They always say there is a thin line between love and hate and it's definitely true in this book. Mason leaves people hating him, thinking that it's easier and safer for him with everything he has lost. When he meets Violet at the restaurant she works at and saves her from a jerk customer they both thought that would be the end, until his new neighbor moves in and is none other than Violet. Violet hates the brash, cocky, jerk of a man that is Mason, until she hates that she loves him. Their story is not easy and they have misunderstandings, pushing each other away but through it all there is an undeniable connection that will keep them coming back for more. I will be waiting on the edge of my seat to find out how their story ends. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Oh my days! I don't know what the heck just happened! I am sat here still trying to catch my breath! I really didn't know what to expect going into this book, apart from maybe hating Mason!!......and I was fully prepared for that....and you know what?.........I probably did.......for a split second! What I wasn't prepared for was the way my heart reacted to him! Holy Molly Jaxson certainly knows how to get your gears going........and I don't just mean THAT! I was sucked in from the first page. My heart and my mind were going a mile a minute throughout this book trying to figure things out, whilst trying to keep my emotions in check......yeah well that didn't work out when the tears fell periodically through the book! And that ending?!! Whaaaat?! No spoilers! I think this is........no! This IS definitely my favourite Jaxson Kidman book to date!! Go one click it now!!
I really didn't think I was going to love this book as much as I did! I had never read anything by this author, and bought this book on a whim when it was advertised on FB. I am so glad that I did.
I seriously hated Mason. I got so involved in the story that I was taking everything he was doing very personally. Violet was this sweet girl, who was trying to come up with the next big thing in the app world. She ends up in this crazy web of insanity, all tangled up in Mason. And this book ends in a cliffhanger. I don't know if I didn't pay attention when I bought it, but heads up!! You'll want to pull your hair out and throat punch Mason big time at the end of this book.
I usually tend to give more detailed reviews, but I really don't think I can do this book justice. And I don't want to give any spoilers away either. The story was just so emotional in parts, intense in others, and downright funny sometimes. It was definitely worth reading, to me at least!
As much as Mason wants people to hate him I can't do it because I just loved this story! Mason has lost everything he has ever loved so to save himself he makes people hate him especially women. But when he meets Violet he has a really hard time being mean to her because he sees how hard she is trying even if they get off one the wrong foot she keeps trying. Violet has never been with a man but for some reason all sense goes out the window when she meets her next door neighbor Mason. He is a man whore but when he needs her help to get a woman out of his bathroom she sees he has a nice side. Mason doesn't dare get to close to Violet because he knows she has the power to hurt him even though she wouldn't know how. Great story and I just loved it even though Mason wants you to hate it and him.
They say that there is a fine line between love and hate and that happens to be the case for Mason and Violet. This is a story that drew me in and kept me captivated until the very end. The characters were brought to life and you felt every up and down moment of Mason and Violet’s story. Mason did his best to not only push Violet away but he wanted her to actually hate him because that is the survival mode that Mason had lived by most of his life. You hurt a lot less if someone hates you than it does to feel the heartache that comes when you love someone.
I loved Mason and Violet’s story but prepare yourself for a lot of ups and downs and a wtf ending! Well done Mr. Kidman because now I know the love/hate feeling that your characters had felt; I loved Hate Me but hated the way you made me feel at the end of this book! Now I can’t wait to see what you will bring me next.

HATE ME
This was a interesting and entertaining read, and I really enjoyed it. Mind you between wanting to slap Mason and then rooting for him was totally exhausting. He was such a dick, using anyone he wanted at any time. His a complete arse and he really isn't bothered by it. But then he meets Violet. Violet might be a virgin but she's not naive and she's strong, she knows what his all about and she's not afraid to tell him. Violet gives Mason something that no one else has got close enough to give him, what his been missing and it scares him. As you can imagine there are many ups and downs and a lot of angst moments that leave you on edge. This story is left on a cliffhanger, and now we must wait for the next part...tick, tick, tick!
