"Five, four, three ... Zero"
A very short introduction to the Syndicate Wars series, in which we meet Quinn's remarkable little daughter and Mackie, the next door neighbour back home in Shiloh on the day the invasion begins.
Brief but packed with interest and incident, visual and funny. Sammy is very much her mother's daughter. Brilliant.

It was a short story only designed to introduce 2 characters - Mackie (almost ready to join the Resistance) and Samantha (12yo neighbour, her mother's in the marines). The apartment block gets hit and the group needs to get to safety.
