It’s time for the town of Milburn’s annual gala and Nora is honored to have been asked to cater the event. But, while she certainly expected an exciting time, the last thing she anticipated was for the evening to end in murder! Ironically, it’s the local psychic, Rosemary Worth, who’s been killed...despite not having seen any sign of the impending danger.
Shockingly, the killer appears to be Nora’s sweet, old landlady, Mrs. Mullally. And, after being found at the scene of the crime with blood on her hands, it seems to be an open & shut case against her. But, despite the mounting evidence against her, Nora is convinced she's innocent and will do everything in her power to find the real culprit before he or she strikes again…
Can Mrs. Mullally actually be the murderer? If so, why would she want to kill the psychic? If it wasn’t her, who was it? And is anyone else in danger?

I'm a mother, wife, homemaker, pet lover, teacher, student, reader, writer, drinker of tea & wine (depending on the time of day) and sleep-deprived dreamer. I live in Syracuse, NY, with my husband, Doug (also a writer with books available on Amazon), our three children and too many furred & feathered friends to list!
A very short story about a someone who states that they are a psychic. Are they? Can our heroine clear up the murder? Nice twist at the end but is it really worth spending the money? Not really as it just leaves you thinking "well that was read too quickly ". Unless you are a dedicated follower I wouldn't recommend getting this.
The sudden murder of the town's new psychic puts everyone into a spin, but our good chef, Nora let's all the details simmer while accusations and suspicions abound. Her sauce doesn't flop, even when the killer shoots her point blank! Better read it to see what happens! Don't forget the new kitten, Tuxedo!
Nora and Harvey are back from their Honeymoon. Nora is getting ready to cater the Milburn Annual Gala. This is the first time Nora and Tina, her business partner, are scheduled to cater the event and they are determined to make it a success. They also hop this will be the first of many such catering jobs.
Nora is very excited about the event, as is her good friend , Mrs. Mullally, who will receive an award. Harvey will also be receiving an award.
Who would suspect a murder at the Milburn Annual Gala; certainly not Nora, or her friend Mrs. Mullally, or the police chief Sean. Now they have to work together to find the murderer.
Will they be able to locate the murderer? Was the victim the intended target or were they killed by mistake?
Nancy McGovern tells a magnificent story, with believable characters and situations. I look forward to the next installment in the Milburn saga.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author, but the review is entirely my own.
By and large, the world is filled with far more good than bad. However, it does take some time for the characters in this book to realize that. A psychic is a person who claims to use extrasensory perception (ESP) to identify information hidden from the normal senses. If you believe that person, you give that person a large amount of control over you (and your bank account). Wouldn’t you think that a psychic would know what is going to happen to her? I enjoyed this story and recommend it.
This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
This was one of the books offered for free on Amazon and after I started reading I kind of think I read a book earlier in the series. It was a quick read and very enjoyable. It was well written and easy to follow with good characters. I will look for other books in the series and start at the beginning.
This has a very good story line and the good solid characters return to solve the murder of a psychic. Very entertaining story. I loved it and find myself following all the books by Nancy McGovern.
I have totally enjoyed this entire series. Nancy McGovern is s gifted writer and I've read a number of her different series. They are all great! If you enjoy cozy, well-written mysteries she is an author you should definitely check out!!
Believable characters that are easily related with.
More mysteries also Nora but she’s up for it. She’s able to think things through and reason them out well Again this mystery holds together through understandable times that makes sense. Enjoy
A chance to cater a gala, and a new psychic is in town, whom Nora believes is a scam artist. Then the psychic is found dead at the party. Could a sweet, old lady have done it?
There were a few too many characters in this one, especially for a short novel. The wrap-up wasn’t too clear, either.
