Since that day in the woods, Omega of the Loca Nuna Pack, Barry “Holt” Scofield, made sure to move around more cautiously while Wolf. He and his guard, Dolph, managed to escape the trap set by the wildlife preservationists. Others weren’t so lucky.

Holt had no idea how many of the Pack had escaped, or how many had been captured, but the agonizing howls of his father, and fellow Wolfpack hunters, being dragged away to a New Jersey preserve haunted him every day.

Holt knew what he needed to do. He and Dolph needed a fool-proof plan to free his Alpha father from his imprisonment along with the others that had been captured, and then he wanted to find the rest of his pack. But the Hunger struck, leaving him consumed with one thought only: feed it at all costs.

All thoughts of rescuing his Pack were pushed to the rear of his mind as the Hunger completely took over. When his Wolf forced him to face his new reality, Holt was left with no choice but to obey. His intent was redirected and he suppressed the urge to free his father and his Pack.

It was his mission to free his pack, and find his mate.

A Wolf's Hunger doesn't discriminate, it doesn't matter that you are considered the omega of the pack. Barry "Holt" Scofield was always told the story of the Hunger by his mother, he never paid attention to it thinking you had to eat your mate when and if you found her. You see Holt let his childhood experiences dictate his life until the day he had to take his place as alpha when his father was kidnapped. He never thought he would amount to anything, believing all the things that were thrown his way by bullies and what was meant to make him a better man by his father's beta. Even in adulthood he belittled himself, not realizing that he was alpha material despite all. Only when he felt the need to rescue and protect his pack and felt the insatiable hunger did he realize what his mother meant all those years ago.

He must face a crazed wanna-be to get to his longtime best friend and mate Daci and sate the hunger. He realizes that despite all his misgivings, he is not an omega, but a true alpha like his father was. He is determined to learn all the teachings his father tried to ingrain in him and that he took for granted growing up.

Never let bullies, or mistakes adults sometimes make determine the person you will be, always believe in yourself despite others.

Barry “Holt” Scofield is an Omega in the Loca Nuna pack and he and his friend Dolph escape from a trap made by a group of wildlife preservationists. The sounds of his father (the pack Alpha) and the others being dragged away will haunt him forever. He knows what he needs to do now - work with Dolph and free his father and the rest of the pack. However before he can start on that he is struck down with the Hunger and so he can only think of eating before his wolf makes clear to him that he has to go find his mate - even though this is NOT the most convenient time. Can he free the pack and find his mate at the same time?

I really enjoyed reading this story. It had plenty of drama, excitement, the occasional twist and turn, but did reach a satisfactory conclusion in the end. I liked the addition of some different characters that were not shifters or shifters that I didn't find stuck in the stereotypical shifter behaviour. A very enjoyable story well written and easy to feel the emotions involved.

REVIEW
Let me start by saying I have loved every book in this super awesome series so far. All are stand-alone.

Holt was not Holt when we get started. No, his folks gave him the name Barry at birth. Even his father's beta made fun of him. Poor Barry was often bullied by members of his pack. And being the Omega of his pack he lets it all sit heavy on his heart.

Holt aka Barry is the sweetest man. His one and only friend is Daci. But of course, college and life get in the way as also does death and tragedy.

Many things transpire we get action, heartbreak, loss, and life. I loved the story although I found Holt aka Barry to be quite the sissy at first.

I enjoyed the story-line although there were many missing words throughout the book.

Loved Desiree A. Cox's newest book in A.K. Michael's A Wolf's Hunger series!! Holt abd Daci grew up together , best friends but completely unaware of being soul mates. It takes the horror of their pack being attacked and Daci being kidnapped before they come together to bring themselves and their pack back where tgey belong . There is some scenes tgat may trigger memoriesfor victims of abuse, be careful if you feel you maybe one of these people . Otherwise it's a fantastic story of love, redemption and building a pack full of love. 4⭐'s . I have voluntarily chosen to leave on honest and unbiased review.

I am a truehearted Desire A. Cox fan, I’ve her books and as of today I am still a fan. I was so happy to see her cross over to Paranormal Romance, I knew she would command it as she has erotic romance as well as mystery romance. Holt is a simple, uncomplicated wolf shifter who is faced with life’s cruelties. It’s not until all is lost that he finds himself, with the help of his soul mate. It is then that he is able to control his wolf’s hunger. Like all the other books in A Wolf’s Hungry series, this is worth reading and enjoying. I look forward to her spreading her paranormal wings.

Love the "Hunger"

All these Alpha "hunger" stories are so different being from different authors...but each one is so good. This author did such a great job with the characters, Holt (Barry) was an interesting character. Daci being a mix coyote and wolf was a great addition. This story had me in tears and in the next paragraph I was laughing then I felt fear for what was happening...a few times I was laughing again! And you could feel the love. For an author to do that is AWESOME!

Barry was tired of being the Omega of the Loca Nuna Pack. He had zero respect from his pack, especially his fathers Beta and the mean girl at school, Veronica. With a change of name and a series workout regime, former Omego becomes superhot but still adorably dorky Holt. When his pack is decimated by hunters, Holt needs to step up to the Alpha role, well if he doesn't get challenged by the former Beta of course. With friend and his own choice for Beta, Dolph aka Paul, they begin devising a plan to lay waste to those who killed his father and pack.

Holt recalls his mother telling him about the Hunger but really...that's what making him so damn hungry?? When he begins to see his mate in dreams and talk to her, he realises she is in immense danger, she has been kidnapped by a psychopath and he wants to mate her.

Daci is a former childhood friend and crush of Holt. She was also the best friend of the mean girl who tormented the heck out of him. But now an adult she knew better than to accept a ride from the stranger, but after the pack scattered she found herself starving and without cash. She is paying for it now though. This madman says he's a warlock and that she is his mate!

But when Holt begins speaking to her she realises that he is coming for her...his mate.

Great addition to the series. My only disappointment was that Daci would be friends with such a Mean Girl! I know she was popular but holy moly I wanted to slap the harridan as soon as she was introduced! I did love the epilogue though and how the pack reformed, reshaped and would you believe it the reformation of the Mean Girl, who now only gets mean when she is pregnant!

Another great book in this series. Holt is one of the only people in his pack not captured and how he has to figure out how to free his father, the Alpha, and the others. As this is happening he's taken by the hunger and although he's known about it from his mother he doesn't believe it's what that is because his priority is his father and pack. Daci was lucky and not captured and is now trying to get back to the pack but is kidnapped. She's always known that Holt was her soul mate and hopes to be able to get back to him. Holt realizes that even though he has to get the rest of his pack back he has to listen to his wolf and the hunger and goes after his soul mate. Getting her isn't that easy because she's with a nutcase but he has the help of friends. Now to save his soul mate and his pack but he's finally ready to be who his father has been trying to make him.

The author does a great job letting the reader get to know the characters, which always makes a book more enjoyable for me. This had a lot of action and of course romance and heat! I received a copy under no obligation.

I am so enjoying this series, seeing all the different authors with their different styles and ideas has been great, this book is no exception.
Holt is not your typical alpha male character at least in the beginning he's not !
Holt may be the Alpha's son but he's an Omega, weakest in the pack, when the time comes for him to step up and protect what's his will he be able to find the Alpha his father always knew was inside him ?
Darci has always had a bond with Holt but as she realises he's her mate events scatter the pack and put her life in danger.
This book surprised me which is an unusual event, it's not what I've come to typically expect from a shifter book. The main character wasn't the strong domineering Alpha type character I've come to expect, he grows into the role, it was actually rather sweet and refreshing. There's nothing wrong with with the usual strong, smouldering Alpha male, I love them but this was a welcome change and I enjoyed it.

A stand a lone addition to this great series. I really enjoy seeing how a group of authors come together to write a series and blend each story so well. As with all coming of age stories, our young male characters changed their names to be taken more seriously. Barry become Holt and worked to become someone strong. Fate forces his assentation to Alpha before he is ready and the swift strike of the Hunger challenges his mind. I found it interesting that the two soul mates already knew each other but were unaware of their connection. Daci's abduction and Holts rescue of her make for an intense storyline that moves quickly and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Some interesting twists keep the story engaging and the popping in of a past character makes you smile. An enjoyable read and I look forward to what comes next.

Confusing in several places

There were several aspects of this plot that were confusing, and then simply dropped. For example, in the beginning of this book, and in the blurb, we are told that Holt was an omega, but that was never explained to us to understand what it means. Was it simply a pack status thing, or was there's something unique about him that made him omega? But then, suddenly he was an alpha and the omega status wasn't brought up again. Or, how did Maximums gain the power to carry his one-trick wonder if he was just human? Where did Barry get the name Holt? And how did he convince others to use it without it being completely pretentious?

The story was good, though it was a bit disjointed.

Saving The Pack

This was a totally different read. Call it PC(political correct) as you read this adventure you see a pack of wolves bei g taken from their home to a" reserve to protect, yet murder and mayhem ensue. A Hunger that wont quite till Holt gets his "soul-mate", a want to be Warlock who kidnaps Daci believing this is HIS MATE! Loved seeing Sherman about. A M/M soul-mate pairing. Alpha with a sensitive side and women who take no prisoners, lol Never do we huh. Any who found the story-line great but a little to slow for an action, suspense, mystery. Was going to give 4 stars but I do love the series.

Good Storyline

I really enjoyed the storyline of this latest addition to A Wolf's Hunger collection. My biggest issue with the book is it almost seemed choppy or all of the place. A lot of drama going on with a lot of different people. Hard to keep tract of what was happening to who. The flow just seemed off for the story, but if you can keep tract the story idea is a great one.

Until Next Time... Tabi

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Good

So far I've read and got every single book in this series even though they're stand alone books. Unfortunately however this book just didn't have the same effect on me and I'm sad to say that through most of it I was bored and it just didn't grip me the way all the others have

A very good story. Loved the characters. The only issue I had was with incorrect words in sentances. Other wise good.
