Stewart Reuben was a British chess player, organiser, arbiter and author. He was also a professional poker player, has been called "one of Britain's foremost poker players" and "one of the best two or three players in England", and had written several books on the topic.
I was expecting that this would be a practice book, but I definitely wasn't expecting this just to be a rundown of 50 hand analysis with no other content whatsoever.
However, the analysis on the hands was a much more educational experience that I would have expected it to be. I would definitely recommend this book.
I read this book twice and i'm starting reading it for the third time to master numerous important points I learnt from it. Though I don't agree with all the answers and scorings, this book was definitely a neccesry complementry text for Jeff Hwang's series on PLO. This book opened my mind to some aspects of PLO that I could not put them in a text and summarize despite knowing them in the back of my mind. I personally used to read 3 hands each time before I went to the casino. At the moment this book is one of my "7 must reads on PLO". Around one fourth of my PLO personal notes are based on this book. I totally recommend you read ths book and instead of READING it cover to cover try to find the situations where there are better plays compared to what the book suggests. This means ANALYSIS. You should know ,in any given situation, what the best play for you is and why it is. This book gives you a base to start thinking.
