"This is the reason I called her my angry girl in the first place. I was teasing her back then, but the truth of the matter is that she impressed me. She blew me away with her strength of character and her fire. She’s not just angry. She’s fierce. She’s determined. She’s strong. She’s brave as f#*$. She is everything she needs to be in order to withstand being in love with a man like me, and I am eternally grateful for that fact."

Zeth Mayfair is on a mission to take care of business in New York. The only problem? The Babieri family seem intent on taking care of him. Permanently.

Sloane Romera's just beginning to wrap her head around the idea of being a mother. When she's shoved into the back of a black panel van without so much as the chance to scream, she finally realizes she'll do whatever it takes to protect the growing child inside her.

And when Zeth finds out what's happened to his Angry Girl...

...Seattle had better prepare for fireworks.

"Loving Sloane is easy. It’s as simple as drawing breath. My feelings for her were an unstoppable force of nature I couldn’t have held at bay even if I’d wanted to. She started out as an enigma, and then an addiction. After a while she became a part of me, and there was no me and her. There was just us."

Wow!! LOVED IT! Zeth M*therf#ckn Mayfair is back in all his glory and more irresistible than ever!

Wicked Things is the third installment in the Chaos & Ruin series and like the first two books packed with action and a healthy dose of smoking hot romance between one of my favorite couples of all time, Zeth and Sloane.

Since they met under very dangerous circumstances their story has been one hell of a journey. And if like me you have read and devoured the Blood & Roses series, then you’ll know how much they’ve been through, how much they’ve endured and fought through to be with one another. The love and passion they both have for each other just keeps getting stronger and stronger.

Zeth once believed he was destined for a loveless, violent and hellish existence. Now he willingly gives his heart to Sloane Romera, the woman whose love mends his damaged soul a little more each day. The promise of peace and the chance to breathe are finally within his reach. Because now Sloane is having his baby. For Zeth, becoming a father is a terrifying prospect. He doesn’t know how he’s going to be a stable, worthy role model for an infant, but he knows with an absolute certainty that he’ll die for the tiny soul forming inside the woman he loves.

"When I get the courage up,” he says softly. “I’m going to ask you to marry me. And I seriously fucking hope you say yes.”

Sloane is an admirable woman. I love her simplicity, her spirit, her strenght and perseverance in life. A strong willed woman so perfect for someone like Zeth.

"This is the reason I called her my angry girl in the first place. I was teasing her back then, but the truth of the matter is that she impressed me. She blew me away with her strength of character and her fire. She’s not just angry. She’s fierce. She’s determined. She’s strong. She’s brave as fuck. She is everything she needs to be in order to withstand being in love with a man like me, and I am eternally grateful for that fact."

When Zeth’s not-so-distant past threatens to destroy them again in the form of the Italian New York mob who still wants his allegiance, He has no other choice than to show his face over in Hell’s Kitchen to confront his enemies or else, they’ll come back and rain down even more chaos on his doorstep. But you don’t mess with someone like Zeth, you don’t come into his city and attack him without consequence. And most of all, you don’t attack his other half and his unborn child without there being a price to pay.

This series is truly addictive ! Callie Hart is an amazing author and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's interested and coming back for more. Wicked Things is jam packed full of action, hot sex scenes and heart tugging moments that had me addicted all the way through. All beautifully executed and the writing is impeccable. As always, Zeth and Sloane are so damn hot together and
they truly come in to their own in this book. They surpassed every expectation I ever had of them. The way they handle each other is just perfect. I enjoyed seing more of Zeth’s softer side that only Sloane can bring out.

If you're looking for a book with a great balance of everything alpha, romantic, steamy, and suspenseful, Callie Hart delivers in spades. A definite must read I highly recommend and the entire series.

"...something wicked that way a-coming..."

Wicked Things is the third book in the Chaos and Ruin Series. The series must be read in order and I highly recommend reading The Blood and Roses Series before reading Chaos and Ruin. In Wicked Things Sloane and Zeth are back, and the danger is darker and more twisted than ever. As Zeth prepares to battle his adversaries, he is determined to protect Sloane and stay alive.

description
"There will be no mercy."
Wicked Things picks up directly after Savage Things. Zeth and Sloane have experienced some surprising changes in their relationship and Zeth has become more attentive than ever. However, he knows there is one thing that he must take care of in order to keep her safe. Meanwhile, Mason is suffering from the loss of his sister, and he is sinking into a deep depression. Zeth, being well aware of the pain of loss, decides to help Mason and puts him to work at the Blood and Roses gym.

description
"With every thrust, every deep, ferocious drive of his hips, he groans, losing himself, running his hands all over my body, leaning over me to bite and suck on my breasts, fisting my hair, biting my neck..."
The passion between Sloane and Zeth is stronger than ever. After everything they have been through, the love they share only continues to grow. Zeth, wanting nothing more than to protect their love, ventures to New York to take care of the small issue of the New York Mob. While Zeth is away, the trouble in Seattle continues to brew. Lowell still lingers hoping to get sweet revenge. As Sloane is trying to deal with Zeth's absence, an old friend from her past resurfaces. As danger and fury erupt on every side, the stakes are high for Zeth and Sloane to take down their enemies.

description
"You're mine. You're fucking mine, Sloane. Always."
Told in multiple POV, Wicked Things is another stunning addition to my favorite love story of all time. The combination of nonstop action, passion, and Zeth's fierce love for Sloane will always keep me coming back for more. The writing is constructed with such clarity that you feel transported into the scene. Zeth is the most dynamic hero I have ever had the pleasure of reading, and the transformation he has made over the course of this series is remarkable, raw, and authentic. Sloane and Zeth are perfectly matched and Wicked Things only strengthens my love for these characters even more. In addition to Zeth and Sloane, we get more of Michael and Mason whose friendship and loyalty to Zeth and Sloane only continues to strengthen as the danger gets more deadly! As the relationships and circumstances of these characters continue to twist and turn, the story continues to develop and draw me further in and when it comes to all things MAYFAIR, I will never get enough!

Overall, I highly recommend Wicked Things to all ZETH fans! And if you aren't a ZETH fan, you should be! The Blood and Roses followed by the Chaos and Ruin Series are full of action, complex characters, beautiful writing, and is dark romance at its best! Any reader who enjoys a dark and twisted ride needs to experience all things ZETH MAYFAIR!!! You will never be the same! I can only hope that Callie has more ZETH and SLOANE goodness up her sleeves. Because when she is writing, I am ready and waiting! Bravo, Ms. Hart! Bravo!

FUCK THIS WAS SO GOOD!

Action packed, insanely emotional, dark and depraved. And the best book in the Chaos & Ruin Series.

I said it before. I'll say it again. THERE WILL NEVER BE AN ALPHA MALE GREATER THAN ZETH MAYFAIR.

Sloane will forever be my favorite heroine.

And their story will ALWAYS BE ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVS.

I am not sure what I can say without saying major spoilers (from this series AND the Blood and Roses Series). But every character is so damn entertaining - ESPECIALLY those Barbieri brothers - and from the beginning, the story holds the perfect balance of action, romance, and dark twists and turns. My most favorite dark romance out there.

The ending was amazing and left me in tears. ACTUAL TEARS.

"There she is. There's my Angry girl," I whisper. <-- that part? DONE FOR.

And it seems like it was left open for much more (especially for Mason). And I am PRAYING this series is not done. Because a world without more Zeth Mayfair is just not one I want to live in.

Wicked Things is out today! | http://amzn.to/2r7teUd

Note: Wicked Things is the third installment in Callie Hart's Chaos & Ruin series, which is a sequel to her Blood & Roses series. While Chaos & Ruin can be read without reading Blood & Roses first, believe me when I say you want to read about these characters from the very beginning! Blood & Roses stands as one of my all-time favorite series and is Callie at her best. I say this with full conviction – there will never be an alpha greater than Zeth Mayfair.

****4.5 Stars!****

I absolutely adore any story that includes Zeth and Sloane in it! This "Chaos and Ruin" trilogy was such a treat! It brought back to me why exactly Zeth is one of my all time favorite alpha heroes...and why not too many heroes could beat him. His intense, possessive love for Sloane is addictive...and heart-warming...AND sexy as hell! OMG! The extreme's that this man will go to for his woman is so divine!! I love it, and I can't get enough of it. Then you have Sloane...she is a strong heroine, that may be a doctor and try very hard to live her life on the straight and narrow...BUT she has the same intense love for her man, as he does for her. This means that she is willing to toe the line between good and bad for him, and I'm sure if she was pushed into a corner, she would most likely kill for him too!

This trilogy has all of the same characteristics that their series did...there is a ton of action, violence, and of course kinky, hot sex!!! If you have not read their first series...then definitely go and read that one before you devour this trilogy. You don't have to; but it will just make this experience all that much better for you if you do. This is a couple you don't want to miss. Seriously, they are one of the best...and Zeth is a total badass!! I mean it...you will drool for him, and you will never ever forget him! My fingers are crossed that Callie Hart has more in store for us regarding these two. Heck, even if we don't get more of Zeth and Sloane....I'd love to have some more stories about Mason. There is just so much potential for all of these wonderful secondary characters too! I am so not ready to move on from this world. Please bring us more Ms Hart!!!

Without interruption in the Chaos & Ruin series timeline, Zeth Mayfair is ready to protect what is his against the Barbieri family and others who seek power, but the dynamic of how to stake his claim has changed due to a recent development. Coming to terms with this new phase in his life only intensifies Zeth’s actions which makes his anger and need for retribution palpable. Zeth has always been forceful character, but he even manages to exceed his own boundaries of self-control.

"I’ve courted the darker side of my own soul for years now, gone toe to toe with it, played a dangerous game of control with it as and when I’ve need to, giving it more of myself than I should in times of anger. I have never, never, not once succumbed to it entirely. Until now.”

In addition to Zeth and Sloane’s storyline line, Mason Reeves faces the hardest time in his life due to the death of his sister. With feelings of guilt, extreme sorrow and hopelessness, Mason is shattered and tries to take his punishment by drinking and fighting.

“My feelings make no sense whatsoever. None. And yet, I feel fucking robbed. I didn’t get to say goodbye to my sister.”

In this book, the plot pace moves and pivots quickly with characters reappearing from previous series all vying for what they believe is rightfully theirs to claim. With these twists, Zeth can’t act alone and the ever-charming Michael is also prepared for a blood bath to ensue. As certain volatile and unlikely alliances are forged, Zeth is unstoppable in his quest to avenge one particular character who was severely overdue for a beat down.

“So here I am. The man you’ve been chasing down all this time, live and in motherfucking Technicolor. Now you’re gonna deal with the consequences.”

Admittedly, there were times when the motives of these reappearing characters felt a tad awkward, especially given the extreme and grotesque actions of one malignant character. While it pushed Zeth to a certain place, there was never any doubt as to his darkness yet seeing him explode was satisfying but also deeply heartbreaking.

description

In addition to the weighty atmosphere of loss and anger, the contrasting and ever present emotion was redemption. While I’m still a bit uneasy with the new plot point between Zeth and Sloane, it does highlight Zeth’s strengths and capacity to love which led to some hot times “Mayfair style” and truly tender moments.

Told from multiple POVs and with some past/present timeline shifts, Wicked Things offers adrenaline spiked action with a twisty plot and amplified character intensity. Of course, more of Zeth always a good thing!!

Wicked Things is book 3 in the Chaos & Ruin series. I thought it was the best of the three. As usual I loved Sloane and Zeth, they are great together. Zeth's strong desire to protect Sloane and his unborn baby leads him to the Babieri family where he plans to kill the head of the family. Unfortunately his plans change and now he must do there bidding to protect Sloane. I enjoyed this part because it cleared up lose ends from the series but I wish we were told what happened to Sal and Theo. They really didn't seem smart enough to take over, they came across more as enforcers. I also wanted to know did Zeth and Sloane leave or did they stay. I'm not sure if there will be more in this series but I feel like I was left with lots of questions about their future. Also I can usually over look and ignore errors but there were so many in this book at times it was distracting. Overall I would recommend this authors.

I'm so happy Callie Hart's imaginative brain produced Zeth Mayfair and Sloane Romera.

Blood & Roses is easily my number one; my absolute favourite series written. And so it doesn't surprise me that Chaos & Ruin has reached a similar height for me. This novella trilogy ties Zeth and Sloane's relationship up into a neat little bow so wonderfully and beautifully (though I hope this isn't the last time we see them!)

Loving Sloane is easy. It’s as simple as drawing breath. My feelings for her were an unstoppable force of nature I couldn’t have held at bay even if I’d wanted to. She started out as an enigma, and then an addiction. After a while she became a part of me, and there was no me and her. There was just us.

Wicked Things again focuses on some familiar faces, as well as introducing us to some new, fantastic ones in the form of Theo and Sal Barbieri (the main characters of Hell's Kitchen). These two have an amazing sibling dynamic. They banter and argue, while supporting and encouraging other in very strange ways. I'm still waiting for their story to be continued!

But the best part about Wicked Things is where Zeth and Sloane's relationship is heading towards. I'm not going to explain what it is or even allude to it in any way, other than it is perfect. It is delightful in every way imaginable. I could go into detail, but it would be impossible to find the correct words to describe their chemistry.

There's so much love radiating off the pages between these two it turned me into a mushy, giddy pile of emotions.

I'm not even mad at this.

She’s fierce. She’s determined. She’s strong. She’s brave as fuck. She is everything she needs to be in order to withstand being in love with a man like me, and I am eternally fucking grateful for that fact.

I could rave about this for hours and hours, pouring over every single detail, analysing it, explaining why it means so much to me, but that would ruin the fun, wouldn't it?! While Chaos & Ruin wasn't as dark or gritty, it was lovely having a bit more light-heartedness. Does that mean life is easy for Zeth and Sloane?

Hell no.

Danger still hides in every corner with Zeth being, well, Zeth Mayfair. I wouldn't want it any other way personally.

Sloane will always be my favourite heroine. She's strong, admirable, intelligent, beautiful, selfless. Even when faced with adversity, she demonstrates a massive amount of strength and rationale.

What can I say.... you meet Zeth one day, and you'll want to keep him forever....I mean, you'll want to read more of him.
So, yes, maybe I'm a little bit partial since Zeth is my book soulmate, but, let's face it, Callie Hart simply gave us an amazing third installment in the Chaos and Ruin series!!!
It's a roller coaster of alternating PoV from Sloane, Mason and Zeth, present and flash back scenes, action packed, emotionaly charged or ultra sexy moments. Once started, you won't be able to put it down.
Reading that series and particularly this book is like being home, reconnecting with friends. There are numerous characters, crossovers from other series, even someone I never thought I would hear from again ;)!

So, you got it, you need to just enter that complex and captivating world. Enjoy!

This series was everything I could get from Zeth and Sloane but I totally did not expect the twist of the story it brought and all for the HEA for both Zeth and Sloane, but it also brings friends of past book series AND I was sold of their newest edition. I’ll forever call Zeth Mayfair of Callie Hart my favourite BBF.

Wow!! Exciting and Kickass just two words to discribe this book.

I am still trying to get my breath back from this marathon read.As this book will have you glued to your seat all the way through and wont let you out untill this exciting, thrilling ride has compleatly finished, and what a ride you are in for with this powerful couple that is Zeth Mayfair and Sloane Romera.

This carries on from book two with Zeth being pissed off with the Barbiiers Family, so Zeth being Zeth he goes to New York to sort this family out once and for all, as you don't mess with him and get away with it.But he does not expect the outcome that he gets on his return and that someone has threatened Zeths world 'Sloane',you don't get to do this and live to tell the tail.

We get to see more of Mason and Kaya's characters in this book also which i loved,my heart broke for what Mason had gone through with losing his sister but Kaya dosen't give up on him and i hope there is more in store for this couple in the future.

I love this couple 'Zeth and Sloane', and the hot sex between these two is still very much thigh clenching as its always been between them,as Sloane doesn't let her pregnacy get in the way of anything, she is still a kickass woman that trusts zeth with her life.

Callie Hart i love your writting, with your amazing imagination which never fails to amaze me,you took me on a ride of my life with this fantasic series that i never want to get off,i am just hoping that there is alot more to come.

Title: Wicked Things
Author: Callie Hart
Series: Chaos & Ruin #3
Genre: crime
Themes: mob
Heat: 2/5
Rating: 3/5

A frustrating mix of satisfying and over the top, Hart's third instalment in Zeth and Sloane's sequel series, Chaos & Ruin, doesn't quite manage to live up to its predecessors.

Regardless of its flaws, indulging in this world, these characters, is always a pleasure. Yet, despite my enjoyment, I was left feeling largely dissatisfied.

Detective Lowell, who has been at Zeth and Sloane's backs for a while now, suddenly seems to have become a caricature of a formerly developed, interesting character, over the top and losing the traits which made her an intriguing villain. Fortunately, the inclusion of the Barbieri brothers was excellent, and I am excited to see the direction in which this storyline goes.

For me, the main issue is that this instalment was just a little too short. I love the chapters from Mason's point of view, but there simply weren't enough. Aside from one or two chapters, Hart opted to gloss somewhat over his grief and rehabilitation back into society and life, in favour of skipping forward with Zeth and Sloane's own storyline. Similarly, this instalment seemed to be lacking a little in the grit I expect from this world, or even just from a Callie Hart work in general.

Exciting and pleasurable to continue Zeth and Sloane's journey, Wicked Things feels rushed, incomplete - and could have done with a thorough proofread, too.

Wicked things is the third book in the Chaos and Ruin series and was absolutely exhilarating. Callie Hart has the innate ability to combine dark, sexy, and amazing alpha heroes and the women who are their perfect match. I could not get enough of this series and am crossing every body part for more!

Ms. Hart broke the mold when she created the Blood and Roses series and introduced us to Zeth Mayfair and Sloane Romera. They are indeed the ideal power couple because side by side their passion and intensity for each other is combustible and now is only rivaled by the love for their unborn child. Wicked Things picks up right where Savage Things ended where Zeth is now off to New York to confront the Barbieri family. He is indeed the big bad wolf who will light your world on fire trying to protect his family and his heart and soul - Sloane. I love how Ms. Hart was able to showcase the two integral sides to Zeth: the dangerous, dark and deadly alpha with the vulnerable and softer man who realizes Sloane is his weakness.

I absolutely could not get enough of this story and can only hope for more from Ms. Hart. The additional characters of Mason and Michael (and their stories) brought an added depth to this novel and I can't wait for more. As always this author does not pull her punches and delivered a fabulous and epic read that not only satisfied her readers but left them dying for more. Ms. Hart I salute you and congratulate you on such an epic read. Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

Thank you Callie Hart! I'm so happy we get more Zeth, most authors would stop after the original series but not Callie Hart!!

I love reading about Sloane and Zeth. Though I feel their story is starting to end. So much justice in this book, the last few chapters has me like...

But like I said I'm feeling the end of Zeth and Sloane's story.
But I'm definitely excited for the finished book series on the Barbari's. Theo and Sal featured in this book and I love them! Hoping we get the next book on them soon.

3.5 stars.

This book had wayyyyy too many spelling and grammar mistakes to the point it annoyed the shit out of me.

Mason and Kaya were swept under the carpet.

It all became a tad too far fetched.

But Zeth... Zeth is always LIFE! I just die. Sloane is freaking amazing!!! So they saved the book for me.

Ladies & Gentleman, Zeth Mayfair just reclaimed his number one spot as my most favourite of Callie Hart's fictional fellas.

In this third instalment of the Chaos & Ruin series, he was everything I wanted him to be and more, whether that be ruthless, insanely sexy, absolutely devoted to Sloane and the way he has grown progressively as a character from way back to when we first encountered him in the Blood & Roses series.

This series as a whole just got better and better for me, but I'm now left with a melancholic feeling that this book may have been the last in the series. I really hope that isn't the case. I could revisit Zeth and Sloane over and over again and never ever tire of them.

I do feel however, that there's more to come for Masons character. Maybe he'll take his own path away from Zeth. And then there's the Barbieri's. Those two are just too good not to get their own books, whether it be in the Hells Kitchen series or something completely new.

All in all a first class read from Callie Hart once again.

This book goes from Zero to Sixty in 0.5 seconds. Wicked Things takes you into the underbelly of places where rules don't exist and everyone is fair play. Zeth Mayfair is a man you don't want to play with, especially when it comes to Sloane. I'm am impatiently to see what happens next!

Once again Callie has written a great book!
Someone has done the unthinkable and threatened Zeths world - Sloane. You have got to be mad to think he will not unleash his fury. Who would mess with ZMFM?!
I loved how this book was about Mason too. My heart felt for him.
This book was Zeth in his full glory.
I just couldn't put it down, I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next.
A must read esp if you love the blood and roses series

My heart skipped a beat when Zeth and Michael’s names appeared on the first page of Wicked Things. Come to think of it now, it would have been interesting to monitor my blood pressure as I read this book because the read out would probably suffice for a review!

Earlier times are covered by flashbacks, which frustrated the bejeezus out of me. The timing was akin to a commercial break, strategically placed before a major revelation is about to go to air. At these times I was desperate for someone to hold my hand, to placate me and help me wait out the return to the present. Fortunately the past and present tense was limited.

What astounded me in the first half was Zeth being off his game. He was second guessing his thoughts which were far removed from the confident man in previous books. I expected mellow, but where would the fun in that be LOL. Well, most of the guys were off their game except for the Barbieris.

“You’re a difficult man, Mr. Mayfair. When someone tells you to go left, you go right. When someone tells you stay, you go. When someone tells you go, you stay. It’s very frustrating for a man like me to try and communicate with a man like you.”

Getting Zeth’s attention the way the Barbieri’s did in the last book was not a good idea. Persuasive is one thing, but this was demanding. No one demands Zeth does anything anymore. Zeth’s response had me worried, especially with his head space. His behaviour tripped off Sloane’s reactions and as a consequence, his Angry Girl was subdued.

Close to the halfway mark of the story, the pace began to pick up. So much so, that I was at 91% wondering how on earth I had read so fast! The twists had my heart pounding. I didn’t pick the instigators of the drama nor have the slightest inkling of the drama awaiting Zeth and Sloane. Wicked at this point was an understatement of the actions of the perpetrators.

I enjoyed having the other familiar characters around, well, some more than others. Not being a schemer of evil doings myself, I was shocked when I began considering methods of justice to inflict upon certain characters. There’s a secondary story with Mason struggling to overcome his grief. Like Michael, Mason is proving his worth as a man who can stand alongside Zeth.

The dialog written in first person POVs came across as too well spoken at times, especially during difficult moments where normally a person would be struggling to convey their thoughts so articulately. Even Zeth’s thought process felt wordy during the first half of the story. With hindsight, when I reached the end, it was clear why the story was paced and told as it was.

If you’re like me and have a few (coughs) series on the go, you’ll be pleased to hear this book contained sufficient background details to negate the need to freshen up on the series before diving into Wicked Things. My final thought was please let there be another book. I am far from done with Zeth Mayfair and am desperate the read on to see how he tackles this new chapter of his life.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

So, this is it. This is the end. I am writing this sobbing like a fucking baby who just pooped his pants.

You guys.. sigh.. I've no idea how to explain this to you without me sounding like a crazy girl. Reading Zeth's book was an absolute coincidence.. I remember it was two years ago and I just failed my fucking test. I wanted to die and made the decision to drop out of college (that was a dramatic decision I made because I was angry). I wanted to forget so I started searching a good series to loose myself into.. and after a while I purchased "the blood and roses" series. I mean a hot as fuck tattooed Alpha. Hot sex. Guns. What else can I ask for?

After finishing the first book. I. Was. Hooked.
I wanted to be Sloan. I wanted to be a bad ass as fuck doctor that can bring even the scariest motherfucker to its knees. And so I did. I finally (still as dramatic as ever) didn't drop out of college and started my journey to become Sloan. (i'm still looking for Zeth, tho..)

I was so obsessed with it that I changed all my social medias's ID to @zethmayfair (except twitter, because Callie forgot the password *rolling my eyes*)

So, after all this time. Finally having closure. I can't. I just can't. I don't know how to end this review except with just go read the fucking book. Sigh.

This series is action packed and it continues into this 3rd book. The danger and suspense mix perfectly with the hot and sexy romance of Zeth and Sloane. Callie has done it again she has created a series of books that have kept me hooked and wishing i could meet a man, hardly likely in the area i live lol. I do not want to ruin the story for you, but obviously you need to read the other books in the series, but trust me Zeth is a man who will give many of your book boyfriends a run for that title. Action packed and heart pounding

UMMMMMMM...WOW! JUST WOW. *MINDFREAKINGBLOWN*

I mean, that was literally me from the minute that I opened the book to the very last page of this ENTIRE series.

Now I realize that my reaction is a little late since I am currently writing this review at least two months after finishing it. I, however, have forgotten NOTHING. Every scene in the first series and this series will be permanently etched into my brain. For the past 2 months, I have spent my time trying to get over this series by looking for something that could even come close to this series (unsuccessfully) and re-reading old favorites. All of this was done just to get over the SERIOUS book hangover I was left with as soon as the final page was turned, and I was staring at the "finished book" screen in my google books app.

It. Sucked.

So here I am, two months later, attempting to put all of this book's awesomeness into words that won't even explain a fraction of the feels I had when reading this series. I also want to Review the Blood and Roses series in this series review since the two are really a part of the same world and since Chaos and Ruin is basically just a sequel series.

Here we go...

EVERYTHING JUST FLOWED
This series was just excellently written from cover to cover. I liked that there was so much attention to detail that really made you understand how every character felt. When I say every character, I really mean EVERY character. In this series, all characters had importance. There was no hiding their meaning, their feelings, or their roles in the MC's lives. For example, Sloane's best friend Pippa is a side character. Yet, her involvement in Sloane's life is important because it made the story have depth. Just the fact that she even disapproved of Sloane's relationship and acted on it made us even understand said relationship and even Zeth himself better. It helped me really see his true colors, especially when he accepted Sloane's friend (Pippa) after all the Sh*t she pulled. He did it for Sloane, which showed his care for her and his soft side. That underneath all the BA attitude and roughness of his past, he was a pretty good guy. If it weren’t for Pippa, most of Sloane’s friends, His sister, and all of the side characters (like his boss), then we’d have a hard time seeing his true character.

Just all-around awesome!
Now, I have read maybe one or two mafia stories. They were usually all the same. The guys were usually into some illegal stuff and fall in love with a tough girl who can handle all of that said illegal stuff. Okay, so that was basically the premise to this story too. So, why did I love this book and not all the others? Why did I deem this specific book as an ABSOLUTE FAVORITE FOREVER (AFF)? Um, because it was funny, unique, and just that awesome.
I’m going, to be honest, I like tormented heroes. Heros that are all BA and…. They are like “I’m gonna ruin you,” and….are so freaking confident it should be arrogant, but it just adds some zest to their character. I especially love when they also are all of those things, but deep down they treat their loved ones wayyy differently. They understand love. They have morals. That is Zeth. He doesn’t apologize for who he is. He has done some questionable things in his past, but he owns it. He never asked Sloane to ignore those things, and he never tried to lie or hide who he is. All of these things could be turned into a bad thing if written wrong. However, Callie Hart did a wonderful job of making Zeth just right. I LOVED HIS CHARACTER! I can’t even say that enough.

I also liked how Callie was great at getting to the point. Some books will go through an entire 300 pages without explaining anything or creating anything useful/entertaining. For me, this was like, And I Darken. Sorry to those who loved it. But you can read my review on that for my take on that. Anyhoo, the point was that Callie didn’t beat around the bush. We meet Zeth right off the bat, and we already know Sloane’s goals and her reasonings from the first three chapters. I like this because it gives me time to really fall in love with the characters without having to slave over trivial things. I like background history, but some authors make the first book a history.

Zeth and Sloane
To me, Zeth and Sloane was the perfect couple. They were great at balancing each other out. Their banter and conversations were never cheesy. They fit the narrative, and TBH they were pretty funny too at times. I also loved how Sloane didn’t put up with Zeth’s BS, but she did trust him, especially towards the end of Blood and Roses and all of Chaos and Ruin. It was cool that Zeth didn’t try to change WHO she was, he supported her goals and occupation, and I loved that he took care of her. He made sure she was safe even when she was an idiot. And boy…was she an idiot A LOT! He still accepted her that way. Sure he got pissed, but he even said that she should never blame herself in one of the books. She is never at fault because he should have been more on top of it. Now, this could be seen as a bad thing, but I thought it was sweet. She felt terrible and shouldering that pain made me really start to see him as a sweet guy under all the dark attitude and tatts. He wanted to see her happy, and he wanted to be her partner. He was able to mold to her just as much as she was willing to mold for him. He is seriously now on my Book bf list for sure. Lol
Overall thoughts, I LOVED it! Everything was just great. The action, the spirit of the story, and the relationship between Zeth and Sloane were just MAGICAL. I would love to wipe this book from my brain so I can start over again. I know, that can’t happen. But a girl can dream! Lol

I hope you like this review! :) I still don't think I did this book any justice. I really wish I was able to record ALL of my thoughts and really tell you everything I LOVED about this book. Just trust me when I say it was EXCEPTIONAL. If you haven't read this one yet, I hope you give it a try. Especially if you like romance, raw characters who are a little rough around the edges, and a love for them bad boys. ;) Enjoy!

Just a pic of the closest depiction of Zeth and Sloane I could think of last-minute lol. Yes, this was from Baby Driver. Another great movie lol.

There is not enough words to express my love for this couple, they are my ultimate power couple.

Zeth and Slone are back along with Mason and Micheal, and they are on fire.

I can not tell you how much I loved this book, straight away we are drawn back into the lives of Zeth and Slone, and hearing zeths thoughts and feelings is just an absolute dream, he has not mellowed in any way and expresses his love for slone in the most beautiful way. Slone continues to be a kick ass heroine and does not let her pregnancy hold her back. The love they have for each other spews off the page and seeps into your pours. don't let that fool you, Zeth is still a bad ass motherfucker and that's just the way I love him, don't fuck with mr Mayfair or what is his!!

Mason broke my heart and I shed a few stray tears as my heart broke for him, I will him to come out the other side of his heartache with a fight in him, I have a feeling that he is going to be as strong as Zeth.

This was another superb instalment in this series, it was gobbled up in a few short hours and my only criticism is that it's never long enough, I want to be submerged in Zeth for ever!!

Callie you have and always will be my no 1, your writing and imagination never fail to amaze me, massive congratulations and well done on another epic read x

DIRTY KNEES REVIEWS: Wicked Things by Callie Hart 5 KNEES!

I still can't catch my breath from this read. Hit after hit, crying one minute, laughing the next, raging like I have never experienced before is all too much and yet so satisfying and heartfelt and just everything you can possibly experience reading a Callie Hart book.

There are so many characters intertwined in this story it can't possibly be the last we see of Sloane, Zeth, Michael, Mason and Kaya but if it is...the ending was PERFECT!! Throughout the story I was worried for certain characters and how they would end up, being a lifetime follower of Callie nothing would surprise me. She delivers her words like a true piece of priceless art.

And hating a character with every fibre of my being...never experienced that as strongly as I do now.

This book was just so much for me...I am busting at the seems to talk about it but all the good stuff is contained in an electronic file for you to purchase and experience for yourself. And let me tell you you will LOVE.IT!!!!!!!!!

Zeth Mayfair's a man of few words.

He's never struggled to get his point across with his fists, but when the safety of the woman he loves is threatened once more, he has to get smart. No gun fights. No car bombs. No slitting anyone's throats in their sleep. This time, the wickedest man in Seattle must get creative in order to defend those he loves.

After all...

He now also has his unborn child to protect...

WOW, what can I say. Another #1 hit from Callie Hart. I just love Zeth Mayfair, he has moved into the top spot for Book Boyfriend. And in this one we see a side of Zeth that really touches your heart. He's going to be a father, so now he has 2 loves to protect. How will he ever manage? Nothing will stop Zeth from keeping them safe. Loved it!! We also get to see Mason's recovery and the "funny" duo of Theo and Sal Barbieri. (still waiting on the rest of the Hell's Kitchen series too). A must read for all Zeth Mayfair fans.

Omg the Tears ! This book broke me ! I was all o er the place i didn't want it to end. Sloane i love her so much she is strong, fierce and has the most compassionate heart and how much faith and love she has for Zeth is beautiful. And Zeth we have known for a while how far he will go to protect Sloane and now his baby ( im still in shock they made a baby) nothing will stop these two.
I loved seeing a little of what happened before and how more of the story clicks into place and gives you that bigger picture. Mason my heart bleeds for him in a big way i hope we see more of him as Zeth, Michael will make a unstoppable trio ! This book was everthing i wanted and so much more. Pure Zeth! Pure Sloane ! These characters hold such a special place in my heart and always will. Pretty please say there will be more ! Callie Hart i love you and your words woman !

If you want more Sloan and Zeth from Callie Hart’s BLOOD & ROSES series, you will love this series! However, after reading the first book in BLOOD & ROSES, I chose not to continue. I didn’t want to read more about Sloane and Zeth. I read all three books in this series, though, because there were other main characters named Mason. I absolutely loved Mason!!! But now I feel robbed because we never get the conclusion to Mason’s story. He is a main character in the first two books, yet he’s pushed to the background in this one with absolutely no closure at all! If you are reading my review and know of another book or series where I can read Mason’s ending, please let me know!! As things stand now, I am super frustrated! And I won’t even mention how terrible the editing and proofreading is. Very disappointing ending to a series…
