Kissing Frogs
Sometimes our brains know the exact right thing to do. But sometimes, it’s our hearts that know the way and our brains are just mucking everything up. Poor Sara. She was so sure she could think her way out of her predicament, but love and logic don’t often go together. Her parade of first-date frogs was eye-opening, and I adored that Ian was always there to look out for her. I kind of love that Ian was the one that fell the hardest first. Mind you, with his grandparents as examples, falling hard from the first moment looked to be a bit of a family trait. The best friends were adorable, and the mutt totally stole the story. I kind of hate that it’s over already.
Kiss Me in the Snow
Squee! This felt so much like reading a Hallmark movie. Big city girls escape their hectic life to a small-town retreat where they’re swept off their feet by big-hearted flannel-clad hotties. In the meantime, wildlife encounters, hijinks, and other calamities ensue. Sophia and Ethan have an almost hate-at-first-sight, enemies-to-lovers vibe about their first interactions. But it’s all so sweet and fun that you can’t help but cheer for them to get past all the things keeping them apart and just celebrate their Happily Ever After. The simultaneous fall of her sister and his best friend only added to the joyful chaos. I enjoyed this so much and don’t want to let go of these characters just yet.
Lilliana Jones and the Temple of Groom
Lilly’s history had taught her that if you don’t control everything you can, your world will spin wildly out of control. But, that meant that her whole life was rigidly planned, with no room for sudden inspiration or detours. Can the poster girl for Type A personalities find happiness when sent on what appeared to be a wild goose chase? Oh my. I couldn’t help but feel for Lilly. Everything about this story was designed to drag her kicking and screaming out of her comfort zone. This was so much fun, and I adored the ending.
