This is one of those quick intro prequel reads that you really do not want to pass up This exposes so much about our "sacrificial" crew and the reasons behind some of their tendencies and why they were chosen This is my intro into this series as well, so was really excited to receive and ARC allowing me to start here and am definitely moving on to book 2 If you enjoy good SciFi chalked with suspense, subterfuge and a touch of romance then this is the series for you Greenwood develops her characters so that you feel like you know them and her plot building is on point bringing you -the reader- in and keeping you engaged
This very short story is a prequel for Moonrise and a fun little read. It sets up a world in the future where the military wants to set up a colony on the moon but since it could be dangerous they decide to send a few "misfits" in the first wave. The story covers the team meeting for the first time and follows them to the first ship landing on the moon. The story was actually well written and the characters rather filled out for prequel. It was good enough that I am intrigued and want to check out the first book coming out soon.
What do you do with a bunch of misfit soldiers with disciplinary problems? You send them to the moon on what is sure to be a suicide mission. Will they survive? This was a great short story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It is well written with strong characters that are quite likable. This is the prequel to Moonrise, which I cannot wait to read!
I received and ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review. This is my honest opinion.
Good quick read. Short story that explains the outpost on the moon. The entire crew either has disciplinary actions or brass considers them disposable. I liked that the Commander is a strong woman and worked hard to get where she is. They are given a mission that was widely considered a suicide mission and they are all determined to see it completed. It was an exciting trip. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
A a romance seems to be unfolding between the commander of a mission to the moon and one of her team members. The airplane in which the two fly to the moon is not working properly. Will there be a safe landing?
A nice short read.
Info: The cover is beautiful but misleading, there is no ballet dancer in this story.
This short story of only 22 pages is a great lunch time or doctor's office read. It's a sci-fi story set in the future about the military setting up a colony on the moon. An easy read that is enjoyable. I received an arc copy and voluntarily chose to review it.
Loved the short story....hated it ended much too soon. Was fast moving and included suspense as well as the beginning of a romance. Absolutely can't wait to read Moonrise the second book in this series. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this short story.
