Definitely one of my favorites of the year. Dash is the perfect book boyfriend. I love how he was all in with Willow from the start. Willow was funny and sweet and absolutely perfect for Dash.

4/5 a suspenseful, romantic MC novel

TROPES:

~motorcycle club
~heroine in distress
~instalove/lust
~preacher's daughter

I really liked this book! It's the classic preacher's daughter X bad boy motorcycle romance. There were some parts that slowed down the plot, but overall it's a really solid read.

I'd love to write a full review and I might do that sometime soon, but for rn my mental capacity is overloaded! Just know that the h & H had solid chemistry, loads of sexual tension, and I really enjoyed it. <3

SAFETY:
Ages: 22h, unknown age of H
Virgin/celibate: virgin heroine, manwhore hero (as usual in a MC romance)
OM/OW drama: slight OM, but H handled it
Cheating/sharing: none
Triggers: death of parent
Kinks: dirty talk, rough sex
HEA?: yes

Turning the page on the Portland Dogs of Fire stories and now there are more delicious Dogs to enjoy in this new spin-off series. A brutal murder, a terrified woman, and a crisis of conscience lead to an engaging story.

Saving the Preacher's Daughter was an interesting title because this 'saving' came in more than one way. There is the obvious- saving Willow from a mysterious, dangerous situation when her father is killed and Dash with the other Dogs of Fire come to her rescue, but also saving from a near relationship mistake and saving from being alone, but also something more ethereal- saving from a narrow-eyed view of the world while still leaving the heroine's faith intact.

I have enjoyed the older Dogs of Fire series and the companion stories for the sense of warmth, friendship, and family they bring with a strong storyline. Saving the Preacher's Daughter is no exception, but I also felt it went beyond as Willow, through a dreadful trigger moment, is forced to broaden her views and horizons so there was also a lot of introspection in this one. I didn't mind and it suited the situation.

Now, the story read fast and things like their relationship felt fast moving particularly since we're dealing with a virgin in the romance. But in truth, there were clear markers that days and weeks were going by so it was not meant to be taken as all that fast.

The characters were an interesting pair. Willow and Dash shared the narration.
Willow was more revealed in the early pages with her background and thoughts more known and I was starting to grow concerned that I wasn't really seeing a deeper characterization of Dash to match, but then, there it was, it switched and Dash was made known. It was all very organic and worked. Willow had some self-discovery to do just as Dash had to figure out this thing called a relationship plus he as to learn what the brotherhood he is a part of really is. I enjoyed getting to know both of them and seeing them grow and grow together.

Speaking of the romance, this was one of those tricky 'one character is a virgin' romances. I think if there was a wobble it was here, but I expected it because, as I say, its tough to get it just right particularly when the virginity and sex before marriage thing were tenets of faith and not just 'somehow I still have my V-card, oops' sort of thing.
Can I say how much I loved Dash? Yes, he was careful with Willow's beliefs and respected her while telling her to take her time as she sorted things out in her head. I do think they dove between the sheets faster than someone who has this sort of considering to do would, but I'll chalk it up to young and horny and perfect for each other. The pair banter well and it was fun to see them snark and grumble their way through a few relationship hiccups and bless them, they did not dial up the angst unnecessarily and they actually communicated like adults.

This was the first book in a series, but I enjoyed how it set things up for more with Dogs of Fire club members and Willows friends maybe getting stories next. Doc and Liv, maybe, LOL But what a delightful surprise to see some crossing over from the earlier season of Dogs of Fire with Hatch and Maisie dropping in for a visit.

All in all, great start to a new series. Plenty of good suspenseful action, solid characters, and a sizzling-cute couple. Those who enjoy spicy contemporary romance and don't mind a milder biker element should give these a go.

My thanks to the author for the opportunity to read the book in exchange for an honest review.

A sweet contemporary romance, with awesome side characters. Dash is a great book boyfriend, Willow annoyed me at the start but at the end I really liked her.
Two thing that I really enjoy were the romance - obviously - and the side characters! They almost stole the spotlight for me.
And Sons of Anarchy was mentioned in here. I almost lost it, because it reminded me of that ridiculous end.

Good girl meets bad boy and it is wonderful!

I love a story that I immediately click with and get completely lost in, who doesn’t, right? For me, this was that book! Good girl meets bad boy and the circumstances couldn’t be more tragic. Despite that – or because of it - Dash is the ultimate in protective, supportive, and loving. The opposite of what Willow expected and exactly what she needed. A journey filled with grief and danger, but also the wonderful journey to love. *insert blissful sigh*

“In a matter of hours, this beautiful, innocent, and sweet-as-fuck preacher’s daughter had wormed her way into my heart.”

Willow is truly the poster child for the classic ‘good girl’. She is a pastor’s daughter, is engaged to an upstanding man in the community and happily does what she feels she should. When tragedy hits her family, the last person she expected to be her saving grace was a patched member of a motorcycle club, one she had been warned to stay away from. Dash rushes to her aid at the first moment of trouble and never leaves her side – cue swooning right about… here! So many reasons why they shouldn’t be together but all of them fall under the weight of their feelings…

From the opening, heart-pumping pages, Willow and Dash’s story had me. Their characters shared their emotions and invited me in to share with them – and I so did! From the start they felt like old, good friends. And with the rest of the club providing warmth and love any pre-conceived notions about these MC ‘bad boys’ soon fell by the wayside. I cannot wait for more in this series. CANNOT WAIT!

Made me laugh out loud:
“I think you killed my vagina.”

Looking for an opposite side of the tracks romance? Dialogue with some snark? Sweet and Spicy moments? Look no further.

Dash is a member of the Dogs of Fire. Life is pretty good- he's got his brothers and purpose in his life. One day he see a flash of sunlight not knowing it will one day warm him from the inside out. Willow's life is on the path she believes she'd always follow. She's engaged, on her path to becoming a teacher and a help to her dad, a local preacher. As you would suspect, she really sees the good in others and tries hard not to judge. She has been preconditioned to avoid the "biker bar" literally across the tracks. But things are not always what they seem and these two are about to collide.

This is a great love story with some suspense thrown in. This author has a great sense of humor too, Dash's name being an example of it....what do I mean? Guess you need to read it to find out!

Insta love

Though not identified as an insta love novel to two main characters pretty much fell for each other instantly.

A cute MC romance. A bit of drama, no real angst and lite on the MC stuff.

Good and enjoyable story!

Willow never expected to have to run into the one place that her father had warned her about for help. When her life is suddenly turned upside down, she does just that, runs to the closest place for help, and it just so happens to be a place where bikers hang.

When the chick he had spotted earlier in the week, busts into the club covered in blood and asking for help; Dash does just that, he helps her and then ends up getting arrested for said help. When things settle down, Dash realizes that Willow is walking around with his jacket on, and it doesn't bother him one bit! Now if only he can get past some of the barriers that Willow has. But being raised in a religious household, she has a bunch of preconceived ideas of what gets you sent to hell and what not. Will Willow be willing to risk it? Can the two figure out a way to make this work?

YAY, a new chapter of the Dogs of Fire MC, and a few more guys to get stories from!!! I guess this could be read as a standalone, but there are previous characters mentioned and it just made it flow better for me to have read the others and then go into this one. With some drama, violence, and some super hot sexy times, Piper Davenport delivered a great story. I am so excited about what is to come next in this series! I give this 5 stars.

I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

Willow is the daughter of the preacher in Town. It's just her and her father. She is engaged to the Town's mayor's son and on her way to being a teacher, she thinks her life is pretty good. She is a sweet young innocent girl who sees the good in everyone. So why does her father and everyone warn her to stay away from the bikers in town.

Dash's life is going great. He has his brothers, and any women that he wants. So when he sees Willow he knew she was going to change his life and become one of the most important people in her life. But Willow's life isn't as happy as she thought it was. And good for her that she has a hot sexy biker in her corner.

Awesome start to a new series. A story about two people from different worlds coming together and finding that out that their lives aren't that different.

I can't wait for the next book in this series. Maybe Olivia and Doc???

~~~~~~~~~~Julie's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Let me begin my review by stating that this book was freaking awesome. Such a twisted storyline with bikers and religion. Willow is truly a good girl. She is the model daughter. Her dad is proud of her. Her fiancé, Brad, he just a prick. When her dad is murdered, she runs to the Biker Club for help. Dash goes to her rescue and they dive into an investigation that, hopefully, will bring Willow some peace. Can Dash keep her safe? Can he keep his sanity around her? Willow knows only what she has been taught and she knows that Dash will open up a whole new world for her.
I loved this book. Story was beautifully written. This is a kind of insta-love if I'm honest but its a good one. So much chemistry between characters and the scenes were steamy and seriously hot. i would love to read about the other characters as well. MUST READ
Willow Miller is the epitome of the preachers daughter, she is sweet, loyal, and sees the good in everyone. One moment she is planning her life and the next moment parts of it are swept out from under her. Running to the one place she had always been warned of for help, she asks Dogs of Fire MC for help, but more importantly Dash.
Dash didn't think he would see the beautiful women he helped on the side of the round again. When she runs into him for help, he steps up. Dash becomes Willow's protector and confidant while she comes to terms with what happened. Dash knows he is never going to be able to let Willow go but he needs to figure out just who is out to get her before it is too late.
Exceptional read. I love Willow and Dash together, he is a bit dirty and she is innocent to a fault. Some of the lines that come from Willow are hilarious and yet Dash finds them endearing. I cannot wait for the next book in this fantastic series.
I actually liked how this one started, but then quickly took a turn to unbelievable, simpleton land. Just not for me. No real character development, so I'm pretty sure I won't be giving this author another try ..
Happy Reading!
Saving the Preacher’s Daughter (Book One) Dogs of Fire: Savannah Chapter by Piper Davenport
Saving the Preacher’s Daughter by Piper Davenport is the first book in the Savannah Chapter. Dogs of Fire Motorcycle Club are located in various places in the US. These particular novels are set in Savannah. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but you can also read the whole group in order, which is what I choose to do. The club is not a 1% club. They work to stay on the correct side of the law however, sometimes it is really hard.
Saving the Preacher’s Daughter is the first book in Dogs of Fire MC. Finn 'Dash' Lloyd Dash is a newer member of the MC. Dash had noticed the beautiful woman who needed her tire changed, so he helped. Dash also noticed her again by the church. Willow Miller is the Preacher’s daughter from the local church. She is sweet and circumspect, until the day she saw her father shot. She ran to the local bar asking for help, where Dash and other Dogs of Fire were drinking. Now Dash needs to keep Willow safe. He needs to keep her his.
The book was full of hot sexy scenes with language and erotica. It is not a book for everyone, but in truth, I enjoyed reading the novels and enjoyed how the bikers and their families interacted. If you want to read hot MC book, this would be your next read. Saving the Preacher’s Daughter by Piper Davenport was a good read.
My first book by author Piper Davenport and it won’t be my last. I loved this love story. Willow was raised a Preacher's daughter, and told by her father never to associate with the local MC, The Dogs of Fire. But, when Willow had to deal with the worst trauma in her life, it was the local MC that came to her aid, especially Dash and his brothers. Dash saw in Willow a different woman than he was used to. She had sass and innocence and never judged by appearances. He found in her his forever love. Dash is a sweet alpha male who is so patient with Willow. I loved the secondary characters and can’t wait for their books. 5 plus stars
Loved Dash and Willow!
What a great beginning to the Savannah chapter of the Dogs of Fire! Willow was so sweet, but in a really good way. Just a really good person and perfect for Dash. And Dash was exactly what this good girl needed in her life to show her that walking on the wild side isn't necessarily a bad thing! And that good people come is all shapes and sizes.
I am volunteering to write this review after receiving an early ARC from the author. I may have an ARC now but I have pre-ordered the ebook. And as soon as possible I will be owning a signed copy to cherish forever. This is book one in the Dogs of Fire Spin-off series. The Dogs of Fire Series has some extremely amazing characters and the storylines within the books. These characteristics have carried over into the Savanna Chapter.
In fact, I found this book even more thrilling. The story building had me emotionally climbing higher and higher up the emotional roller coaster so I could come screaming down to the real world. The suspense was addictive. I wanted the romance created with the pages for Dash and Willow. And the sex--super hot. How could it not be with a biker and a virgin, that had lived by the guidelines from within the bible.
The bridge between the two MC chapters, the two book series, comes in the form of Hatch and Maisie visiting the chapter. Hatch is delivering something. I wonder what needs to be delivered personally? What I thought was really cool was the link that the author created between Hatch and Willow, the preacher's daughter. It created a superb connection that Willow will need in the coming pages.
This is a wonderful story of opposites attract. Their connection doesn't just create sparks, but fireworks brightening the sky. Dash is a superb alpha male that can and will protect Willow from the dangers of life. With the help of his brothers, Dash rides in on his mechanical horse, saves the girl and steals my heart.
After writing this review I have a deep desire to read the book again. I couldn't wait. The story was calling to me so I read it again 10 days later. And Oh My, I loved it even more.
I love a good MC romance and when I find a author that I haven't read from it just makes me want to read them even more so I know I'll be binge reading her other series because characters from that are mentioned in Saving the preachers Daughter . Willow is beautiful inside and out a little naive and innocent but once she is around the hero and his brothers she starts to grow more in her own skin . Dash is so swoon worthy the way he handles the heroine with care is really alluring about his character . They are from different worlds but one night changes that and they teach and learn from one another , the sex scenes are done in such a wonderful way very tasteful , delicate , HOT , and sometimes funny . The secondary characters are as lovable as the main and I can't wait to read more about them so I'll definitely be reading more by this author in the future .
What I did like:
1. Dash - how sweet he is with Willow
2. Willow- I liked how she wasn't a cusser and that she could have a backbone if needed.
3. Gator
4. Willow's friends
5. Hatch & Maisie
6. Lisa- surprisingly
7. Humor
I'm not a fan of the cover- and I felt like the couple said 'I Love You' WAY too many times. I felt like there were things left undone in this story, and I didn't like how fast it ended. I also felt like Brad could have been used more in this story-line and I wasn't a fan how that wrapped up. It was just too convenient. I also felt like Dash was mostly a one man show in his club...with Badger and Gator as his sidekicks. I felt like there should have been way more guys involved and that it didn't feel like Dash was really more of a new fully patched club member.
DNF at 42%. Insta-love definitely isn’t my favourite trope, but this was not good. I wanted to like it because the synopsis is right up my alley, but it was executed poorly and there was no depth to the story. I have no idea why the characters fell in love, and the drama was really not fleshed out enough for me to get involved and actually care enough to finish.
Set a MC story in my hand and you had better be prepared to be ignored because there is nothing I love better than some alone time with guys that live by their own rules and this bunch certainly do that.
Willow lives her life the only way she knows, the way that has been drilled into her by her preacher father. But as much as she was the preachers kid that didn’t mean that she couldn’t think for herself because if she was being honest thinking for herself was probably the only thing her father couldn’t control.
She is stuck between a rock and a hard place in many respects trying desperately to keep her father happy and do what is expected of her, she has finished college and is now all set to marry the man that everyone seems to think is the perfect guy for her…just a shame that she doesn’t feel the same way, but can she stand up for herself and put herself first for a change or will the plan that has been pre-determined swallow her up?
Dash is everything you would expect from a guy that lives his life fully immersed in everything the MC offers him and yes that includes as many women as he can handle.
But a chance encounter with the preacher’s daughter has him thinking again because there is something about her that not only piques his interest but also has him re-evaluating everything he thought was he wanted.
But as you would expect when opposite attract, the ride they embark was always going to get more than a little choppy and this is no different. The story is littered with mystery and suspense. There are events that will leave you gasping out loud and other events that will bring a flush to your face…the author certainly ramped up the heat!
But overall this is a story of what it takes to overcome prejudice, to face ignorance and to break down the barriers that others just seem to love putting in the way of their happiness, they may not be everybody’s definition of what is normal but that means nothing to them when all they want is each other.
This pair had it all to do to get to where they wanted to be but they had a determination that stood firm. They faced hurdles that were not only dark and dangerous but that comes from the most unexpected sources.
A fantastic mix, this threw everything into the mix and what it served up was a delight!
