This book outlines the reasons you got sick to start with, the reasons you haven't been able to get well, and a toolkit for reversing your life to one of wellness and longevity. Nothing is fair in America these days. At the top of the unfairness list, is health and wellness. In some places in the United States, professional workers outlive their working class counterparts by up to 20 years. In addition to shorter lifespans, most working class folks suffer from constant pain and chronic illness. The fact is, a very large section of our economic system is predicated on keeping these folks dependent on medical services that will only keep them above ground but not cure them.
This book explains this in simple terms and gives you a pathway to seize control of your own destiny and your own health. If you are a person who worked for a living, and now you are sick, understand this! There are people getting rich off of your illness. It cost nothing to get well.
As the daughter of blue-collar working parents, I have seen first hand the unfortunate effects that years of intense labor produces. For years I saw their health, and the health of their peers and friends deteriorate, and with seldom information ever made public and accessible on wellness by any of their doctors, I think we all assumed it was something bound to happen and very much expected.
This book has allowed us to make living well feel approachable. Has inspired me to make long-lasting changes in our lives, allowing me to be the architect of my own health and wellness for no price at all! It took me a while to finish because I read it thoroughly, as I really believe that the information is valuable. I think it’s an incredibly helpful guide to the complexities of not just what makes us sick, but what makes us well.
I found it insightful, he talks about the Affordable Care Act, Griffith brings a unique and accessible voice to the conversation about living healthfully in the modern world. Not just because of his experience, but detailed research- that was surprisingly- not overwhelming!
I highly recommend this book if you are seeking to finally take an honest inventory of your health!
