They say the pretty ones have more fun...
Golden Garcia learned at an early age that beauty is a weapon that is either working for you or against you. Stone-hearted and ambitious, she is willing to do whatever it takes to escape her unprivileged beginnings. She masters the art of seduction and manipulation to gain the things she desires most.
But when Golden meets Champ, a seasoned hustler, a lifetime wiser, she realizes the thing she desires most in life is to be loved. He spoils her with the lifestyle she’s always dreamed of and her loyalty to him knows no bounds. She becomes addicted to the rush of being a hustler’s wife and finds herself caught up in a world of drug dealing and fast money. Before long, Golden realizes the lifestyle she so desperately sought after comes with a steep price tag. One that Champ feels she is forever indebted to him. There is no way out once she’s entangled in his vicious web of lies and deceit. Golden ultimately discovers there is only one rule in the game she’s playing, self-preservation. When her plot to break away goes awry, she will be left with a decision that will forever change her life.
Gold Blooded is a fast paced, cautionary tale of sex, money & betrayal in a world where loyalty is limited and love don’t love nobody.

Ty straight came through with this book. Golden faced one hardship after the other. I originally felt bad for her in the beginning until I realized what she was truly into. One would think after everything she experienced she'd humble herself a bit more and take life more seriously. Faye had it rough and one heated argument changed her forever. Where did Champ's disrespectful ass come from? He really did a number on Golden with all the lies. Golden was easily blinded and couldn't accept the fact that in order to want better she had to first want it for herself. I loved Rheason and how protective he was without knowing much about Golden. He stepped in when it was needed and helped her understand the true meaning of love. All bs aside, Golden should've taken heed to Shay's warning in the beginning about Dallas. She put her trust in the wrong person and I was hoping Dallas would get dragged before the book ended. Golden should've trusted Rheason enough to realize he'd get her out of her situation instead of folding so easily. She was used to making so many wrong decisions in her life but I appreciated the fact she realized how much love she truly had even though it seemed too late. Man Shank came on the scene not playing any games. I can't wait for Rheason's story and to see how things change once he learns the truth.

Let me just say that I never thought I would hate Ty Marshall the way I hated him after reading this book. So why did I give it 5 stars? Because it was a hell of a book. I only hate him because I want to read this book again, but I can't because of the way it ended. Lawdddddd please bring back (read the book) y'all always want somebody to give away the story then be mad after they do. Lol. Forget all that for now (as I'm drying my tears), let's talk about how if Ty Marshall was a rapper he would be considered a lyrical genius. The way he told this story was descriptive and vibrant. I cried with the sorrow, I hoped with the prospect of a new beginning, and I cringed with the love gone wrong. This book was emotional as hell. From the very beginning I wanted Golden to win, but bad luck seemed to follow her. Ty Marshall wasn't letting anyone be great as he started to kill everyone off one by one. Let's talk about how Ty weaved 80's Baby into Gold Blooded and gave us our favorite part of the book! Rheason!!!! If you read this book Rheason is the reason for the season and every season is feigning for Rheason! And if you're not a Jigga fan or wasn't paying attention, then you missed the creativity of naming each chapter after a Jay Z song. All hail Ty Marshall for writing a hell of a book and reminding us that street lit is still relevant! I'm still pissed at him though (rolls eyes).

Super sad

This book was a decent read. Nice pace. Drama filled. But more than anything this book is sad. Some people can never get a break in life, at least that is Golden's life story. *shaking my head* just wow.

Shock!!!

This book is filled with twist & turns. What I love most about Ty Marshall's books is the unpredictability of them. Gold Blooded was no different and I was not disappointed. I was so happy to have Rheason in this book. If you haven't already read "80s Baby When Crack Made Kings to understand who Rheason is. But if it wasn't for bad luck Golden would have no luck at all. She just couldn't catch a break. Nobody cared for her at all. Her friends were disloyal, her boyfriend was a piece of 💩 & her mother only loved 1 thing and it wasn't Golden. Her life had been doomed from the beginning. She was so broken that she was scared and resistant to actual love. I'm really interested to see how Rheason's book will turn out, which I know I won't be able to figure out or predict. Cuz just when you thought you had a Ty Marshall book figured out he throws a stumbling block in your way like "hol'up heifer! Not so fast!" 😂😂😂 I'm never disappointed when I read a book by Mr. Marshall. I always buy sight unseen. Don't even read synopsis anymore, I just buy because I trust his skill & talent and it's not many authors I can say I'll do that for. This book is 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 all the way.

At an early age, Golden Garcia mastered the art of gold digging, as a means of survival. Little did she know, that karma would come back by way of Champ.
💫
A hustler on the rise, Champ is a controlling, manipulative scumbag, who gets a rise out of using, abusing and cheating on women...especially his girlfriend Golden. As fate would have it, he meets his match when he decides to show out in front of the wrong person.
💫
Both of these lives are turned upside down, when Rheason is introduced into the mix. This mysterious man is life a dream come true to one, and a living nightmare to the other. But, what secret is he hiding?
💫
I picked this book back up on a plane ride, and let me tell you... I was almost left on the plane reading this darn book. Whew Chile... I wish I could give it 💎💎💎💎💎, but due to grammatical errors, can only give it 💎💎💎💎.
💫
Go pick this book up and get caught up in the world of @the_tymarshall_era!

Ty Marshall hit a home run with Gold Blooded. To say I enjoyed this read would be an understatement, I was engrossed from the very beginning.
Golden, Shay, Dallas, Champ, Rheason, and Faye all came to life on the page. This was a mental movie from the very first page. The realness you get from this writing is truly a gift.
My heart would hurt with Golden and would be happy right along with it. There was no guessing what was going to happen next. Champ will catch you completely off guard. This is also a story of pick your friends correctly and watch everyone.
Oh and that Rheason will get you every time. There were times that I sat there sure my mouth was hanging open while shaking my head. There was a way this was written that takes you all the way into the story. Like you are actually involved.
This one is an A+ and will be in my top book list for quite some time!

If there ever was an example of your better half being a "weak link" Golden's tale is that example. Granted her childhood was tragic. She never learned what love looked like. She had no idea how to give or receive love. So, it stands to reason that when dealing with relationships she had no concept of loyalty, love, or self-respect.
The author did a good job with the character and storyline development. The story was interesting even without the "aha" or "wtf" moments. I am definitely looking forward to Reason's story.
As far as the audio production, it was well done and the narration delivered at a moderate pace with no background interference. My only critique would be that a bit more excitement (inflection) was needed during certain points of the story. Otherwise, good job on the audio. This narrator is one of my new favorites.

Epic

The adjectives that can be used to describe Gold Blooded would be off the charts. Th grabbed you by the throat and showed no mercy with his his skills with this Story. Th held no punches he made you feel what he was writing until the very end. If you had any suspension that Ty could hang with the BEST Gold Blooded put him in the top five. I felt the emotions in this. I grew close and I understood some of the stupid moves of Glo and I also understood the precise moves of Rheason. Please read this amazing story it's worth your time. Ty you did your thing, I know your key board was smoking when you were done because you left me in total amazement with this one. Big Ups Bro I loved it

Reason I mean Golden

Excellent read. This story was about Golden and all the people she surrounded herself around. Who would have thought that a young women could have as many problems as her. Sad

I finished this book and I am sad. Why did Golden have to suffer like that? She couldn't catch a break. I am glad Rheason gave her a little peace before she died. Ty this book is emotional for me. Shay told her Dallas wasn't her friend. Champ wanted to love her but he didn't know how. He was pure evil. He never experienced love from his mother and she didn't either. I can't wait for the next book. You did a good job.

It was everything I thought it would be, but I didn't expect it to end the way it did. I hate that Golden didn't figure out that Dallas set her up. Soooo, I'm going to patiently wait for Rheason to drop.
