Ruth Chou Simons is a Wall Street Journal bestselling and award-winning author of several books and Bible studies, including GraceLaced, Beholding and Becoming, When Strivings Cease, and Now and Not Yet. She is an artist, podcaster, speaker, and the founder, CEO, and Chief Creative Officer of GraceLaced, an art and lifestyle brand. In my hallway, I have a little table filled with girly things just for my enjoyment. I have at least two of Ruth Chou Simon’s beautiful prints displayed on it year round, and I change them out with the seasons.

Ruth’s floral paintings and beautiful words are the focus in her newest book, Garden of Truth. It’s my new favorite resource for Christian meditation.

You'll love the simple verses and quotes with gorgeous illustrations. The book is small enough to slip inside your purse to take wherever you want to meditate.

‘Garden of Truth’ gifted me a lovely reading start to 2025 - I like to try and start a New Year with something faith based, it’s my own tiny reading challenge: ‘a blessed beginning’.
This small book (119 pages) has Ruth’s lovely artwork, flowers and foliage, on one side of a two page spread and then a small thought and an accompanying scripture on the other page.
I gobbled this down in one short read, but am definitely going to go slowly back through it to pause and ponder over ‘favourite’ excerpts, and pencil in the KJV of select scriptures underneath the ESV or NIV ones used.

An illustrated devotional featuring spreads with a floral illustration and phrase from a passage of Scripture on one page and a short devotional thought and full short Scripture passage/verse on the other page.

I read one of these a day for about 2 months, and I found them a great way to finish the day. The author's artwork is beautiful, her devotionals are short and thoughtful, and it felt like a good selection of Scripture passages/verses.

This was a beautiful book of prints and scripture verses meant to uplift and fulfill. The prints were outstanding and the verses and short snippets above them were beautifully thought out and placed. A great little book to encourage in every season of life. This would make a wonderful gift or coffee table book to look through often and remember to meditate on the truth in it's pages.

It’s a beautiful book of verses to contemplate. The watercolors are beautiful. It does make me want to get her book Gracelaced. I feel like I can get more out of that book than this book of verses. I guess the only thing missing for me was reflection questions. I’m just not completely satisfied with the book. I’m left wanting more.

I very much enjoyed this. It was different than what I was expecting. I was expecting this to be a bit more like Gracelaced, however, I loved the “Jesus Calling” style of this-little tidbits of wisdom and comfort and most importantly TRUTH- for everyday.
