As Jade is recovering from a breakup and a major loss, Bryce is preparing for his final college basketball season.
All Bryce wants is to get drafted into the NBA and get out of Jade's friend zone. And Jade, who is also months out from graduation, is on a mission to figure out what's next, now that her life-long soccer career has ended.
For Jade, it’s easy to ignore the feelings she has for her best friend. After all, she’s been doing it for two years. For Bryce, it’s not so easy.
These is about two student athletes who have been best friends for years but their romantic feelings for each other start bubbling to the surface and how they deal with this shift in their dynamic. This was okay but definitely not as engaging as I would have liked, it’s a pretty typical story and nothing about the writing, characters or dialogue really stood out to me. But this author is a super cool person so I’ll be on the lookout for future stuff from her
Awwww I loved Jade and Bryce! They both had their own inner battles to face and they looked to each other for strength and encouragement. I'm glad they got some act right about what needed to happen.
This was good. Jade was working my nerves tho. I just wanted to slap. I need a book on Gabi and Brandon. I need wedding updates and stuff on this couple.
This was a very cute story about two best friends falling in love. Bryce, being the star player on his college basketball team could have any girl he wanted. They floated to him instantly, but he had one girl in his sights and constantly on his brain for over two years now. Jade, who was a soccer player from a rival school, was his girl mentally. She was struggling with it being the end of her soccer career which instantly put her in a depressive state. I loved how Bryce was always there for Jade and knew from just the sound of her voice when she needs him. Also, how regardless of anything, they supported each other to the fullest and had this bond like no other. Jade didn’t want to lose their friendship and was very hesitant when it came to dating other athletes. But to me their relationship gave off as two that were a couple to the outside looking in. But from close friends and family, the two were both in denial about how the other one felt about them. Overall, it was a cute novella. Love a good friends to lovers story.
This was a really good book for a novella. I really loved Jade and Bryce. I loved that Jade had her own identity outside of her relationship with Bryce. Sometimes with athletes authors tend to make the heroine revolve so much around the sports life of the hero but Jade was not here for that drama. She was an athlete in her own right and didn't really fawn over Bryce like other females did. His sports status actually turned her off from him. Even with his superstar status Bryce had a pretty good head on his shoulders. I loved them as friends and even more as a couple. Definitely would recommend this one and I cant wait to read more from this author.
This was my first read by this author it was a short sweet novella. A friends to lovers story. The couple's relationship felt genuine. Although there were a few typos but overall a nice story.
I enjoyed reading the story about Jade and Bryce. Although they went to rival colleges their friendship never stopped but actually grew into something more. I recommend reading this short but sweet book.
A cute story that thoughtfully addresses mental health
I enjoyed Jade and Bryce's dynamic and backstory. I also appreciated that this story touched on mental health in a positive way. I feel like there is more to Brandon and Gabi so hopefully they get a story in the future
This was a quick read- which I didn't mind. I couldn't completely relate to the character because they were college students and I'm well over that age. I appreciated how real the dialogue was.
Overall cute short story. I liked the storyline and think this could have also been a good full novel if the author chose to expand.
A couple of "holes" in the story, but that is par for the course with novellas. Also, a few editing/grammatical issues, but didn't completely deter from the storyline.
