I’ve read, and separately reviewed, all of the books in Lucia Ashta’s Witching World series. They were, quite frankly, superb. If you’ve been unfortunate enough to have missed them then you’re in luck as this boxset of books 1-3 is a great collection. Trust me that these are so addictively fun that you will not be able to simply stop after each book. Highly recommended.

Addictive story filled with magic and mythical creatures
Magic Awakens is book one in Lucia Ashta’s Witching World Series. This is the first book I have read by this author and I was not disappointed.
Clara is a young woman in a world dominated by men and traditions. To further expand their wealth and power the Count and Countess of Norland arrange a marriage for Clara with the eldest son of the Count and Countess of Chester Samuel. Hesitant at first both Samuel and Clara bond and find they don’t mind each other or the idea of marriage, Samuel is kind, understanding and friendly. But things are not to go as they hoped and the marriage falls through and instead of marrying Samuel, Clara is to marry Winston the cruel, brutal and evil younger brother. When Clara’s health takes a turn and all the doctors have no hope for her survival, the only person who has a chance of helping her is Marcelo, a magician. Magic is evil and anyone who uses or possess it must be executed, but desperate for the marriage to still take place the Count of Norland pays Marcelo to take Clara to their Lake house and heal her. But healing Clara from the fever is only the beginning.
I was so intrigued and addicted to this book, from the beginning I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. The characters and plot is so interesting. Watching Clara slowly grow and except who/what she is, even though she still is unsure i can’t wait to watch her to continue to grow and flourish. Marcelo is very mysterious and interesting character, he is full of secrets and history and I am looking forward to the bond between him and Clara to grow.
The Five-Petal Knot is book two in Lucia Ashta’s Witching World series. This book continues on from where book one Magic Awakens ends.
Finally at Irele, Clara is unsure of the fate of herself and Marcelo. After being attacked by Winston and trying her best to get to Irele to save Marcelo, Clara has been running on adrenaline with the only thought of getting to Mordecai and Albacus for help. Clara’s training into magic is about to begin but the future is unclear with darkness approaching.
I really enjoyed this book, it was so much more exciting then book one. Clara grows and matures in this book, her acceptance towards her magic abilities is admirable. The bond and connection between Marcelo and Clara is beautiful and strong, with everything going on around them they are able to except what is going on between them and not question it. The brothers Mordecai and Albacus were bit of a mystery at the beginning but as the book goes on they become role models and father like figures.
This book was filled with action, suspense, mystery, magic, love, revelations, battle and death. I was hooked from the beginning and read it in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down and was disappointed when it ended, I rooted for the main characters and was shocked at the end of the battle. I can’t wait to see what’s next for these characters.
The Merqueen is book three in Lucia Ashta’s Witching World Series, this continues on from book two “The Five-Petal Knot”.
After the battle and loose of Albacus things are going to get a lot harder for Clara, Marcelo, Mordecai, Sir Lancelot and Sylvia. Now without his brother Mordecai is struggle with grief and loss, but a houseful of unexpected and unwanted guests is the last thing they need with darkness still out to get them. Clara must learn everything she can before Marcelo’s nephew and Count Washur come back to finish what they started. But something is always getting in the way delaying her lessons. Marcelo must go back home to Castle Burdy to claim the Counts role after his fathers death, but leaving Mordecai behind with his grieving is the less of his and Clara troubles that they must overcome.
I love the mythical creatures in this series. The characters continue to grow and flourish, as well as the storyline. I did find Clara a little irresponsible and childish at parts in this book, I understand she is powerful and eggar to learn, but at the end of the day she is new to this world and doesn’t understand the risk and ramifications is spells go wrong, but she would listen to what Marcelo was trying to tell her. (As proof of the Terrance scene) But the bond and connection between Marcelo and Clara continue to grow as they look forward to building a future together.
So many questions, I have so many questions after reading this book. What is Count Washur up to? What happened to Salazar growing up? What is Mirvela trying to accomplish? Will Marcelo and Clara ever marry? What is Clara capable of? How did Gertrude get mixed up in this? Hopefully some of these questions will be answered in the next book.

I love this series! The box set is a great value. I have read and reviewed each of the first three books separately and have included them below. I highly recommend this box set!

Quite an adventure!
This story had so many twists and turns I could never guess correctly how it was going to go. It seemed slow paced at first but as I got more deeply into the story I realized the necessity for all the background into Clara's life and her strong motivations to be someone other than what her selfish ignorant parents had planned for her. Now that her Magic has awakened I can't wait to find out how she matures under the tutelage of two sage magicians and the one young magician she so fiercely helped to save.

This absolutely my favorite book of this series! I love Lucia Ashta's writing! It seems as if each sentence is so thought provoking. I had to reread many of her sentences in order to absorb their meaning. I wonder where she comes up with her ideas. Very creative. I recommend this book to all ages.

I love this magical world as it has all the fantastical surprises that keep you on the edge of your seat. Ms Ashta’s imagination seems unbounded and limitless. In my view she has well earned all five stars! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy, or even those who may not, as this book series could very likely change their minds!

This bind up of the first 3 books in the Witching World series is so good. Each book flows into the next, to the point of ending on cliffhangers. I am so glad I started this series once it had been completed.
The main character, Clara, is an aristocratic lady who is about to be married off for the better ties between her home, the land of Norland, and another counts homeland. She falls I'll when receiving the news that her engagement to the nicer of the two brothers is no longer going though due to his parents getting a better offer (bigger dowry) & she is now to marry the nasty other brother.
At this news Clara developes a fever that just won't end. It burns her and makes her delirious. She is taken to her family's lakehouse to recover. But what will happen when she recovers? This is a wonderful tale of magic, love, and the evil that lives in the hearts of many.

Since I read this entire set of series in the Magical Academy series backwards, this is the final (first) series in the set. Ashta delivers a beautiful and deep diving look into the magical scene of the period. Clara is an innocent, yet powerful, heroine whose life in the royalty era period is turned upside down by her parents, unbeknownst to them. This omnibus follows Clara on her introduction to the magical world after she falls gravely ill. The characters are intriguing, the scenery just comes to life in your head, and the plot twists and turns so that you never know what is coming around the next turn of the page! Breathtaking and awe inspiring are the words that best describe Ashta's world!

It ends on a cliffhanger. I know that may annoy some people. I found it well written and compelling, striking a good balance between action and exposition and a good pace. It's also a good length, letting me really get my teeth into it better than some other books I've read recently. I found the characters interesting and fairly well fleshed out. They all felt distinct and interesting while I was reading and I would happily read more. Which is good because this is only book 1-3 so I'm, at best, halfway through.

No "witching" about this book
The story line is very good. It's fast reading and the main characters are likable. In keeping with her other series some characters reappear in this one. The old brother magicians are back and we find our how one was killed. Clara is introduced in this one and she has found her magic which is stronger than most witches. We have the dastardly villains of course so it's worth following and seeing what happens next.

I truly enjoyed getting to know Clara, Marcelo and Mordecai. I hate a few people in these books…. Especially,Marcelo’s brother in law..
I have read a few books from this author, I loved her other books, came to read these because the characters are mentioned often in those books.

fantastic
What a great beginning to the magical fantasy world by Lucia Ashta. I have found that it’s ideal to read the books in order of being written. After reading Magical Creatures then the Witching World books 1-3 I am able to understand how the magical Creatures Academy started. I highly recommend this book series to anyone who loves to read fantasy fiction

I was not ready for the book to end
I absolutely love this entire world! I wasn't ready for the book to end, either. I am completely fascinated and enthralled by this world so far away, so far back in time. I can't get enough!

I didn't immediately love the Witching World but it intrigued me so I kept reading and reading and pleased I did. The weird and wonderful characters along with an adorable Pigmy Owl and Sylvia the Firedrake make this a great read it's never boring ..

Interesting
These books grabbed my interest from the very beginning. I already knew & loved some of the characters from the other books in the series. I like that she has so many series that are related and enjoy reading them all. This has adventures and never know what is going to happen next. I think her books are written well, and I like that so many different types of creatures are linked through the magic. You get to learn more about all of them in the different series she has that are related to these. Now I'm on to reading the next book!
