New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart, brings together two polar-opposite single parents in the second book in the sinfully sexy Vegas Nights series.

Detective Adrian Potter had a lot to answer for. I didn’t care that he was tasked with shutting down the city’s most prolific hookers.

I cared that he was stopping me from providing for my daughter.

He didn’t care.

Not at all.

Until I broke down in the backseat of his car… And he let me go.

Adrian was a single parent, too. He knew how hard I had it. At least, he thought he did.

He had a job. He had people who cared. He didn’t know just how lucky he was.

My name is Perrie Fox.

I was a whore of the highest value.

Until Detective Adrian Potter.

Until the tattooed, redemption-seeking detective entered my life, looking for his fairytale.

The cop and the hooker.

Happily ever fucking never.

You’ve met one Fox sibling.

Now meet the other…

(LUST is book two of the Vegas Nights series. While it is a standalone, the time frame does overlap with scenes in the previous book, SIN. You can, however, read LUST without reading SIN.)

A hooker and a cop walk into a casino...

No it's not a joke. Perrie is a hooker in Las Vegas just trying to make a living to support her daughter. Adrian is a cop who's job is to arrest anyone in Perrie's profession. But when he has her in the back of his car and she breaks down in tears he can't force himself to take him into the precinct so he lets her go. But he also comes up with a plan to help both Perrie and his fellow officers. Because who better to spot a hooker in a crowded room than another hooker?

I really liked the chemistry that Adrian and Perrie had. As different as their professional lives were, their personal lives were very similar. Both had young kids that they were raising on their own and that instantly started to form a bond between them.

I liked the push-pull type of relationship they had as Perrie was trying to fight her connection with Adrian. She had a lot of hangups because of her past and it made Adrian just want to push her for more, which I really liked seeing. They were great together, in my opinion.

I would have liked to get more information on Adrian and his past since it was brought up a few times. But without that I still liked his characters and liked the heat he brought to the story.

4.5-5 STARS

This might be a full on rambling review. I’m warning you LOL. I’ll do my best to keep it concise, but there is a chance things could go off the rails….just saying.

I say this a lot, but I want to elaborate this time. I’d been waiting on pins and needles for this book. Like there were ants in my pants, jittering like a bug on a hot plate kind of waiting because I was so flipping excited to see how this story would play out. I mean seriously, A HOOKER AND A COP… sign me right the hell up and send it to me NOW!!

Needless to say, I thought long and hard about how the story would play out, how the main characters would interact with one another, how the love story would develop, on and on – ad nauseam. Remember, excited party of one here!! Anywhoo, Lust was not at all what I expected. It was so much more! The level of emotion and the storyline absolutely blew me away. It’s my newest TOP FAVE from Emma!

Now for the big surprise. If you follow my reviews, you know I’m all about the steamy bits and main characters. While both were great in Lust, the show stealer were the kids (whom I also LOVE) and the interaction between all the characters. Lust goes beyond the physical attraction of these two smoking hot characters…it’s more about two families merging and combining to form something great. It’s funny as hell. It’s super sexy. But most of all, it’s sweet and emotional. I adored it. Perrie and Adrian are magic! Zac and Lola are the sparks to the flame and I loved them to pieces.

Overall, not only does Emma do steam well, but she knows how to incorporate some pretty serious themes with kids and family dynamic to make something truly special. It was amazing, one of my top faves of the year!

Overall Opinion: I loved the overall premise of the story, and it is definitely what lured me in! Sadly, I didn't feel like it reached its full potential though. I didn't ever fully feel their connection. It felt like it was choppy in that we get them disliking but being attracted to one another - to crossing the line into a physical relationship - to "falling in love" with each other's children (which I also didn't feel) - to being in love with each other. It didn't feel like it progressed smoothly or the way I wanted it to (I hope that makes sense). The kids also confused me. I understand that them being "sassy" was supposed to be cute, but I actually didn't find it all that endearing in this book. I felt like they were disrespectful, and ran the show with their parents (which I hate to see happen in rl). I also was confused by their ages. At some points I felt like they should've been aged as 4/5/6 year olds, and others it seemed like their age (7/8) was pretty accurate. With having an 8 year old myself right now (and 3 other kids that have gone past that age group), I think it might've made me a little more critical of this. I also felt totally ripped off with that ending! No epilogue?! ...I'll spare you my rant on what I think about that 😉

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Perrie and Adrian's story. They meet when Adrian is arresting Perrie for prostitution. She is shocked when he sympathizes with her as a single parent himself and let's her go. She isn't expecting him to be on her doorstep the next day, and she ends up working with him and a police task force working on minimizing prostitution in the city. The more time they spend together, the more they can no longer deny the connection they feel towards one another. Once their children bond with each other the fight becomes pointless. There are some cute family moments, some sexy times, a little bit of family drama...and a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Perrie and Adrian's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I read this quickly, so that tells me that it held my attention and flowed well overall. I also never skimmed.

Instalove: No, they take a good while to share their feelings (with themselves and each other).

H rating: 4 stars. Adrian. I liked him. He was a pretty good combination of possessive, sweet, and sexy.

h rating: 3.5 stars. Perrie. I liked her, but I also questioned some of her choices at times.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Decent. They have some decent tension and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story. I did feel like it was a little lacking in chemistry, but that might've been contributed by my lack of feeling an overall connection between them.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Safe sex: Yes and no

OW/OM drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Not really.

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This had a rather abrupt ending with what I would call a HFN ending. There were a lot of unanswered questions left, and there was no epilogue! As a self proclaimed "epi-ho" (and stealer of the term 😘), this was not okay with me! .

How I got it: This was included with my scribed subscription.

Safety: This one should be either Safe or Safe with exception for most safety gang readers depending on personal preferences.

A hooker and a cop plus two adorable kids!!! Lawd have mercy! Swear, Lust will be the death of me. It surpassed my love for Sin, and I love that book a whole lot! But this one bitches, knock of my ovaries and shattered it to bits of pieces! Imagine heat, steamy, sexy, swoony, lust - filled sprinkled with adorable and funny scenes rolled into one and I'm dead seriously. But before that can I just say "Officer Potter, you can cuff me whenever and wherever and we can definitely use that backseat of yours for some eart shattering moments!" *Swoon

OMG! Emma Hart outdid herself with this new book in her Vegas Nights Series! I am in awe because the book exceeded my expectations. This review will be quick because honestly nothing can best describe this book except your own judgment. But trust me when I say read this book and devour it. I had so much fun in my journey with Perrie and Officer Potter and of course their adorable kids. Emma had this book in spades and she hit the right spots right now I am still in Lust bubble. I don't want anybody to pop it because it's so wonderful in here. All the feels in the best possible way. I mean, it had me crying for effing sake and it's tears of laughter not in sadness but together with that emotional pull that hit my heart so hard!

I am totally in love because aside from I was drawn into the story through Emma's brilliant writing and hooked-worthy storyline, the characters she created didn't just stole my heart but owned it too! It's not the usual pair of hero and heroine, but she slayed it with Perrie and Adrian. I love how their opposite characters clashed just to attract. It was chemistry at it's finest! Lawd! I couldn't put the book down. I was gravitated and sucked right into the journey of these characters. It was hot! It was scorching! First few pages and my reader was on fire! But what made this book exemplary is the fact that it's SO MUCH MORE. With the collision of these character's past and present, the book is beyond amazing. Add up their two adorable kids and my roller coaster journey was just a whole lot of fun, laughter and emotional turmoil! But I just love how everything was played out. Just fantastic! With all the feels, this book is addicting I don't want it to end!

Do me a favor will 'ya? Read this book. Emma did not disappoint! With her usual sass, heat, humor and heart? Lust is her best book to date and I freaking love it to pieces!

top pick

DAMN YOU Emma Hart for making me cry!!!

I don't know how she does it but Emma Hart keeps BESTING herself with every new release. She takes an unusual, non-traditional coupling and absolutely ROCKED the HELL out of it. The things that this book made me FEEL...

I keep saying this with every book Ms. Hart puts out - THIS is her ABSOLUTE BEST work to date!

"If you call me ‘baby’ again, I’ll ram my fist down your throat."

"Threatening an officer of the law probably isn’t your smartest idea."

"That was no threat.”

I’m just gonna say it right here, right now...Perrie Fox has got to be one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE heroines EVER! I knew I was going to LOVE her, even with the small glimpse we got of her in book one. She is a bold and fiery woman who holds nothing back, except for her heart. She loves her daughter, Lola with EVERYTHING in her and she will do ANYTHING to provide for her. She’s passionate, witty, and a complete smart ass and our ever so gorgeous Detective Adrian Potter NEVER saw her coming. From the minute they ‘met’ I knew the chemistry was going to be OFF THE CHARTS! It was so much more than that. Full of hilarious and smart-witted banter, enough dirty talk to make you blush for days - LUST, book two in Emma Hart’s Vegas Nights Series, was just simply...EVERYTHING!

"Perrie Fox was destined to be mine. There was no two ways about it. She was mine. End of.”

I think readers don’t even have to be die-hard fans of Emma Hart to DEVOUR this book OR this series. All they have to do is read the blurb (or glance at the HOT covers for that matter) and they will be goners. I mean seriously, a whore and a detective? That match is fucking genius, and I think the only person who could pull it off as a masterpiece is Ms. Emma Hart.

And a BIG SHOUT OUT to the real stars of this book...give it up for the kids in this story, Lola and Zac! A bunch of scene-stealers is what they are.

What else can I say about this book that hasn’t already been said? You have to trust me when I say Emma Hart’s writing is spectacular. The characters she brings to life with her words are spectacular. The unique storylines are amazing and the sex scenes are FREAKING above all the rest. This book gave me ALL THE FEELS! But I’ve come to expect that from this author. I’ve come to expect this greatness, and I get it EVERY SINGLE TIME. I could go on and on, but take my word for it and pick up this book. I have absolutely NO DOUBT that you won’t completely and utterly fall head over heels in LOVE with Perrie, Adrian, Lola, and Zac.

LUST was an incredibly EASY choice to label as an #SRSRFave and I know that this book will shoot to the TOP of many reader’s BEST BOOKS OF 2017 LISTS!

I have a been a big fan of Emma Hart for a long time but honestly her Vegas Nights series has completely blown me away. I was completely hooked on Damian and Dahlia from Sin but Perrie and Adrian from Lust completely topped their story. Lust was full of raw honesty, passion and genuine and true emotions. I loved their connection and their devotion to their children and their unexpected connection to each other. I couldn't get enough.

We first met Perrie Fox in Sin as the down on her luck sister of Damian who handled her business with her head held high despite the poor hand dealt to her in life. She did what she could to feed and take care of her daughter even if it was illegal. It didn't matter that she was the daughter and sister of business tycoons and a millionaire herself. She was Perrie Fox and a mother first and foremost. I absolutely LOVED this about her. She was at the end of her rope and did what she had to do to make ends meet without going back to the life and family who turned their back on her. She made a deep impression on me. Similarly, I loved her initial meeting with Detective Adrian Potter. She made a deep impression on him and he viscerally connected with her on a deeper level. I loved their chemistry and passion and just did not want this story to end.

All in this was a fantastic addition to this series and can only hope that the author continues to write more books in this series. I love this edgier side to her! Bravo! 4.5 stars!! ~Ratula

****

Perrie Fox never expected her life to turn out like this—single mother, barely making ends meet, and a “career” as a hooker.

Adrian Potter’s job is to rid Las Vegas of illegal sexual activities—he's trying to get the hookers off the street. Including Perrie. But he doesn't count on the immediate connection between them, especially once he realizes she's a struggling single mom.

But can they be more, can they work through the reality of their pasts to pull something together for the future?

I was immediately drawn into Perrie and Adrian’s world. Their relationship started out with so much loathing (on Perrie’s part), but with some seriously simmering Lust too. I loved watching them get under each other's skin, loved watching them lower their defenses. And their kids—so damn cute! ~ Missy, 4 stars

Lust is hands down one of my favorite books that Emma Hart has written. This book was just everything. It had romance, banter, sexual tension, two adorable kids, and CHEMISTRY!!! Seriously, a whore and a detective cop? Genius...pairing right? Who wouldn’t want to read a love story that was brimming with all the right ingredients?

Hart did a fabulous job with this book as it was sexy, heartfelt, and packed that emotional punch to leave you breathless. The story of Perrie and Adrian took a life of its own as the author allowed readers to see and feel the natural stages of their growing attraction to one another and how two lives were able to collide and lead to one unforgettable romance!!! So if you are looking for a passionate, intense, and sexy as hell romance then look no further than LUST.

4.5 Stars

I love books that have a darker twist. I love the idea that romance, and true love, don't only happen to the perfect, happy, shiny people of the world. That life, and lover, happens even in an imperfect world.

And, a woman who makes her living as a prostitute, and the man who initially arrests her, definitely isn't a story that is full of rainbows and unicorns.

I loved it. For so many reasons. But, mostly because Emma Hart went there. Perrie is a prostitute. Yes, for the right reasons, and you understand. But, this is not her first time, and she is not new to the world. You learn this right off, and it is fascinating as usually, when the character is not perfect like this, there is the great "oh, that wasn't what was really happening" and I adored that you find out at the beginning that this is not what is going on here. I am guessing there will be people who don't like this about the book...but I am not one of them.

Adrian and Perrie are an unlikely couple. The man who upholds the law for a living; the woman who breaks the law for hers. I loved that this is the main conflict, and that it is enough, because, well, it is. And, I loved that the author let it be enough, let this be about the characters, and working through their relationship and attraction while dealing with the fact that their relationship should never be able to work.

The writing was strong and so was the pacing. You like the characters and you are interested in the story, and engaged with the story, from the beginning. This is the 2nd in the series and while it is technically a standalone, there is some overlap that is more meaningful if you have read the first book.

I enjoyed this and I definitely recommend it.

3.5 stars.

This was a blast. I loved how the kids played an actual role in the book cause usually when you read about single parent characters the kids always get sidelined, authors always shy out from writing them a concrete part in the plot.

I loved everybody in here, wanna read more about Sam soon.

Boy does Emma have a way with words. Not gonna leave much of a review, there are much more brilliantly written ones available and they're all 4-5starers.

I am very recommending this (highly) so just get it without any further thought. :p

I LOVE this book! It was a super quick read for me as I could not put this book down! Emma Hart has completely stolen MY heart with the Fox family of the Vegas Nights series!

description

LUST is about Detective Adrian Potter and Hooker Perrie Fox. This unique pairing has you pulling for Adrian's hero complex and hoping for Perrie to rise from the Vegas slums.

"How had my life gone from riches to rags? I was the reverse Cinderella."

description

Emma Hart does a wonderful job grabbing onto your heart as you hope single mother, Perrie, is able to rise up from all injustices life has thrown at her.

"She was broken and burned, harmed and hurt."

Adrian is also a single parent dealing with the cards that had been dealt to him and raising his son on his own. I love how Emma has the kids steal the show throughout the book while creating a bond between the kids handling the challenge with both being in single parent families. Perrie's daughter, Layla, and Adrian's son, Zac, give this book the lightheartedness and wit that we have come to know that Emma always includes in her books.

"That's only fair, Mommy. We both get sleepovers or nobody does. That's how it works."

"Is it, now?"

"Well, yes. I'm very upset I can't play with Zac, and you've been playing with Adrian!"

You HAVE to read this mismatched coupling between The Cop & The Hooker, I promise it is the best steamy Vegas night that you don't want to miss out on the jackpot!

Emma Hart has created the ultimate story! This one tops all others. We all like the single parent stories, but it's always just one or the other. The hero or the heroine. What if I told you that you could read a story where they were BOTH single parents! Plus, Emma Hart writes the best kids. They're super sassy and smart. Perrie and Lola. Adrian and Zac. These are my favorite people right now.
Perrie hasn't had the easiest life, especially since she's been away from her estranged family. She's done what she has to to keep a roof over her daughter's head and food in her stomach. It's not ideal, but it works. Until one night it doesn't.
Zac does this job for a reason. If it helps him come to terms with his past then I saw go for it. It's always worked for him until he meets Perrie. Something about her calls to him. She seems different from the rest. As much as he tries to forget her, nothing works.
We knew a little bit about Perrie from SIN. Damien told us a little bit about her and how she ended up where she is. But now we get to hear it directly from Perrie. Best way to hear it. She's strong and selfless, smart and sassy, which is the best way for a heroine to be. Adrian is a cocky bastard. While he tries to keep his distance, he eventually works that to his advantage. The things he says to Perrie would make any woman melt.
There's only one negative thing I can say about this book....it ended. This is one where I never wanted it to end. I wanted more of these four. Ms. Hart creates these stories and characters that we become addicted to and then she ends the story. Who does that!! But we can always be assured that she's working on more for us to love and hate all at the same time, so I guess that's something to look forward to.

Another book by Emma Hart that I just adored :)

The Fox siblings have my heart. Perrie hasn't had the best life, regardless of the fact that her name is Perrie Fox, meaning she has money and connections and her family is well respected in Vegas. In fact, life is so far from good for her, she's arrested for prostitution one night by Detective Adrian Potter. Adrian witnesses her break down in the back of his car and lets her go, but offers her a chance to help him catch others in the profession. What starts as a fake relationship for undercover purposes turns into the real thing once their children are involved.

Perrie was smart, strong, a little sassy and so utterly vulnerable that she shattered my heart. I just wanted to hug her. And Adrian *sigh* He was just perfect. A little bossy, a lot hot, and such a sweetheart that I wanted him and Zak to be mine.

I loved seeing Dahlia and Damien again. The scenes with Damien and Perrie were perfect. Especially when they first saw each other again. My only complaint is that I still don't know why Daddy Fox wanted Dahlia's bar so stinking bad in the first place.

*thanks to InkSlinger PR for sharing a copy of this with me*

Sassy, Sexy, Sensual, Stimulating, Emma Hart has done it again with Lust.

I adored these characters.

Adrian; Sexy hot cop and single dad.
Perrie; Prostitute and single mum.

Two people on opposite sides of the law whose worlds collide with a bang in more ways than one.

I loved Perrie's character, a woman fallen from grace, she's sassy, a survivor and a woman with backbone. Perrie was in the previous book Sin briefly, Damien and Dhalia's story, she is the estranged sister of Damien. Perrie has a reverse Cinderella story, from riches to rags, rejected by her family and takes to the streets to provide for her daughter.

Adrian is part of a task force to prevent prostitution in Vegas. The night he meets Perrie at a bar she is tricked into thinking he is a potential client. Arrested and in the back of a police car Perrie breaks down at the thought of her daughter alone. This tough cop with a kindred spirit see's a single mum doing what she can to survive and let's her go with conditions.

"Perrie Fox was destined to be mine. There were no two ways about it. She was mine. End of."

I loved the plot, what unfolds and how the relationship with Perrie and Adrian develops. It's a slow burn romance from hate on Perrie's side to lovers and as you delve deeper into Lust the chemistry is sizzling.

Adrian:
I didn't expect resistance at every corner. Resistance that came with the sexiest, sassiest mouth I'd ever encountered and the hottest goddamn body to ever cross my path.

"selfish is something I'm not. Honest, yes. And I'm being honest when I tell you that if I pushed you against the wall behind you and kissed you until you couldn't' breath, you'd like me a lot"

I loved the interaction with the kids too as Zac and lola become good friends they do what they can to make their mum and dad fall in love the little schemers made me laugh out loud so many times.

Lust is brilliantly balanced read with everything I love in a romance, hotness, humour, a great plot, likeable characters, intriguing backstory's and the icing on the cake a perfect ending.

Told in dual first persons pov and can be read as a standalone.

Another addictive read by Emma hart and I am so looking forward to the next book Miss Fix it that has me squealing with delight it looks so good.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.

What I really really loved about this book is that Emma Hart did not draw out the ending with lots of angst and tension, because there was more than enough of that in Perrie and Adrian's pasts and in their path to each other. I would have wanted to murder someone (or to hurl my kindle across the room) if she had kept them apart for any longer than she had or if there had been any added drama to the situation. Once upon a time, I would've scoffed at the idea of being entertained by a book that focused on a prostitute, but then I read The Duplicity Duet by Elisabeth Grace and I was like - SOLD! I got similar vibes from Lust, but the plot was way different and just as delicious. There was so much depth to Perrie and Adrian and their backstories - the character building that Emma Hart does is PHENOMENAL. And the kids! Oh the kids! I loved Lola and Zac - there's a scene with them talking to each other and Adrian is eavesdropping and I just wanted to bawl my eyes out! I devoured this book, just as I have all of the other Emma Hart books I've read and I just loved it. 4.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

Another Emma Hart success!!!

I felt like I NEEDED Lust in my life for a few reasons. Emma is one of my FAVORITE authors. The cover was HOT AF. AND there were kids in it.

Of course the kids were my favorite part in the WHOLE book. I couldn't get enough of Zac and Lola!!! The slow burn romance between Perrie and Adrian was a HUGE plus. The sexual tension between them could've been cut with a knife. It's like Emma knows EXACTLY what I love in a romance novel and writes it.

Now I need to go back and read Dahlia and Damien's story!!!

What do you get when you cross a ridiculously, sinful, hot cop and a sexy, sassy hooker?

I swear this is not the start of some crazy joke, honestly. Let me tell you…

You get FIRE! Deep, intense, passionate FIRE! Cover to cover I was HOT. BURNING. The words in this book, the characters in this book, the storyline in this book, LIT ME UP! From the cover alone you can see that Emma Hart brings the heat in Lust. But what I wasn't expecting was for Emma to make this book SO MUCH MORE…

Well, I lie... Of course I was expecting Emma to deliver a fantastic story, and she did. No doubt. In fact, I would say she delivered her BEST story yet! Easily!

But, and here's the thing. Emma made me FEEL. SO DAMN MUCH. At every turn these characters embedded themselves deeper under my skin. With every chapter I felt myself falling deeper and deeper in love with a delicious, hot, alpha cop, a sexy, broken hooker and two of the most adorable, children EVER.

There is something about this book that just works, just clicks. Instantly Emma drags you into this story and tells is BEAUTIFULLY. Emma captured my attention fully, there was no way I was putting this book down for NO ONE! The emotions that you feel while reading this book are crazy. My heart broke for Perrie AND Adrian. Emma delivered these characters with so much conviction and truth that every single word just blew me away. It was hard not to love them, hard not to connect with them. They had me, hook, line and sinker.

At first glance, the Lust cover leads you to believe that this story is a super, hot, dirty story and IT IS. As well as being Emma's best, I'll also say it's her hottest too. And that's before they “do the deed”. The build up, the verbal foreplay in this book is what ratchets up that heat level to EXPLOSIVE.

Once you start reading you realise, like I mentioned, that there is more to it, that the book is going to break you down, into pieces, while lifting you up SO, SO HIGH! Lust is littered with all the things I LOVE about Emma, her humour and sass shines through in all she puts out and there ain't NO ONE writes children in books like Emma Hart. I'm in awe at this story. Thankful to Emma for the journey she took me on. Blessed to be able to read this book and be swept away by intense passion and addicting characters. There is nothing better than THIS FEELING after finishing a book. I won't be forgetting this one for a LONG TIME!

LUST has wedged it's way in as my personal, Emma Hart favourite. It is also in the top five best books I've read this year!

I have always been a big fan of Emma Hart but she has outdone herself with Lust . I don’t know how she does it but Emma continues to deliver freaking hot, hilarious rom com.

I literally love everything about this book from the cover to the addictive storyline to the fantastic characters. But nothing compares to the love I have for Zac and Lola the two most awesome children ever!!I was completely sucked in to the very end!!!

“I deserved it. I was rags to riches. He was pure, honest. I was lies and deceit and dollars. He was love and kindness and goodness.”

Adrian is the sexy single father- yes, trust me when Adrian interacts with his son Zac, you are going to melt on the spot BIG TIME!
So, Adrian is a cop and one night, he arrests a prostitute, Perrie, at a bar in Vegas. When he finds out that Perrie is a struggling single mum, he decides not to put her behind bars but to hire her as an informant.

If you have read Sin, you would have met Perrie Fox the sister of the sexy Damien Fox!! She is a single mother, estranged to her family, who does everything to provide for her mini-me Lola. Lolo is bloody amazing. She’s got sass and an answer for everything! I love that kid!

“Apparently, nobody told my daughter that the attitude comes with puberty. I was in for a long, rough ride with her.”

The flirting, sexual tension and innuendos that were batting between Adrian and Perrie almost had me wishing I could magic myself into the scene to rip their clothes off for them. Their banter and attraction was sizzling.

““If we can’t get along, our cover is blown. To convince people we’re a couple, we have to pretend to like each other at the very least.” “But I don’t like you, and I don’t want to like you.” (...)“I would rather get to know a scorpion poised to kill me than get to know you.”

Can they be an HEA for The cop and the prostitute?

“Kissing her was the line. The big, black, fucking line that screamed with neon lights. The one I couldn’t cross. Not now, and not ever.”

Overall, it's a funny, engaging, hot and heartfelt story.
PS: Emma, feel free to write a book about Zac and Lola LOL I would one click it straightaway.

4.5 Lust filled stars!!

She was off-limits. Untouchable. We were on opposite sides. I upheld the law while she flaunted it.”

“I wanted her. Wildly. Crazily. Desperately. It was an insatiable desire that would only be cooled by the heat of her body against mine. Perrie Fox was destined to be mine. There were no two ways about it. She was mine. End of.”

Emma Hart, you continue to slay me! With your smart writing, brilliant story-lines, tough women and sexy men, my heart doesn’t stand a chance.

When we first met up with Perrie in SIN, I just knew her story was going to rock my socks and boy did it ever. Lust is the perfect opposites attract, riches to rags story. Perrie’s life is more complicated than most could imagine. At one time, she had it all, but all it took was one moment to rip everything she knew away. She never imagined this path that her life has taken her, but in the end, what would anyone do to support their child?? Detective Potter has a lot of demons in his life. He’s spent years trying to right the many wrongs. He never imagined his path leading him to Perrie. His job is put to put hookers out of work and get them off the streets, but there is just something about Perrie that makes him question things; like maybe she deserves a second chance. When chance brings this unlikely pair together, they may soon discover they have more in common than they initially thought…..

Lust was a fabulous read that certainly knocked me off my feet. I mean a cop and a hooker!! How could you possibly go wrong? I just knew this story was destined for awesomeness. Perrie is smart, determined, independent, feisty and sexy as hell. She is an amazing mom who would do anything for her daughter. She isn’t proud of the path that life has put her on, but she is determined to give her kid the best life she can. Detective Potter couldn’t have entered her life at a better time. Adrian Potter is hotter than hot. He’s tattooed and bossy and with a set of handcuffs, your imagination can’t help but run wild. He is a man that knows and lives the law. He is dedicated to his job and is trying to raise his son the best he can. He never planned on a woman like Perrie, but wild horses couldn’t keep him away from her. Perrie and Adrian are opposite in every way. Perrie is forbidden and Adrian knows he should stay away, but when these two are together, they are like magnets, you can’t possibly tear them apart. With scorching hot chemistry and an undeniable passion, it will only be a matter of time before Perrie and Adrian give into to the fire building between the two of them..

Lust is a fantastic addition to the Vegas Nights series. I was pulled into Adrian and Perrie’s story right away. It was impossible to not fall head over heels in love with Perrie and Adrian. I loved how real and complicated they were, but at the same time, I could totally understand where they were coming through and why they did the things that they did. I loved watching Perrie and Adrian’s relationship grow and seeing them fall in love. They made me laugh. They frustrated me and had me yelling at my kindle quite a few times. But, in the end, they left me with a huge smile on my face and kept me begging for more.

Emma Hart has once again knocked it out of the park and I can’t wait to get my hands on the whatever she plans on writing next!

Lust is the second book in the Vegas Nights series. It can be read as a standalone but the time frame is the same as the first book, Lust. Two Foxes and their stories of falling for someone they don't believe they deserve. I loved Damien's story but his sister's story pulled at my heartstrings and made me fall even harder.

One hooker. One cop. Two kids. One arrest that changes all of their lives.

Perrie wanted out of this life. She wanted more for herself and her daughter Lola. She just needed a chance. And she never thought that chance would come after being arrested by a hot, tatted, and infuriating cop that let her go. He needed something from her and she needed a way out. This was it. She didn't want to do what he asked but she really didn't have a choice. She could give him what he wanted until she figured out what to do next. What could go wrong? Even though she wanted him and he seems to want her, it can not happen. They can not cross that line. But it is fun to watch them walk along it. Trip over it. Fall across it.

Adrian and Perrie's relationship is complicated. They have their reasons for wanting to keep their time together as professional as possible. They also had their reasons for wanting to tear each other's clothes off. They also had their reasons for wanting to rip each other's throats out. But, it all comes down to actions speaking louder than words. Seeing them together is like watching two broken people coming together. They don't get it. They have to figure it out. It's not easy. It's not roses and butterflies. It's real life with real complications.

I absolutely loved every single minute of their story! I was addicted from the very first sentence to the very last one. The writing is magnificent. The storyline is unique. The characters are well-developed, lovable, and real. Adrian is a sexy, tatted cop with a filthy mouth but more importantly he is an amazing father. Perrie is strong willed, beautiful, and a kick ass mom. Together, their banter is hilarious, hot, and so much fun. Their chemistry is sinfully sexy. Overall...it's beautiful in a kind of way I can't really explain. And I can't forget about Zac (8) and Lola (7). These kids seriously stole my heart. Omg, they had me in stitches.

Overall...it's my all-time favorite Emma book!! It gave me all the feels. How could it not? A feisty and a kickass single mom. A hot and protective single father. To adorable and smart kids. A unique storyline with sexy times and hilarious ones as well.

Quotes:

“Sorry. Looks like you bring out the worst in me, baby.”
“Looks like you’re determined to have my stiletto pierce your ballsac with that stupid little endearment.”

She tasted of obsession and she smelled like addiction. She felt like danger.

“Mommy, he is very handsome.”
“He gets that from me.” Zac puffed out his chest.

Having read (and loved) Sin, getting the little insight and preview into Lust from it, had me totally hooked (get it?) for Perrie & Adrian's story.

The premise of Lust for a start is one I've not read before, and let's face it - it doesn't get more modern day fairytale than sexy alpha detective arrests single mom hooker.

As always with an Emma Hart read, the writing is sharp and smart and full of sass. There's plenty of heat, and a whole lot of heart. The banter & sparring between Perrie & Adrian was brilliant, and their chemistry couldn't be denied. I liked both characters & this added to my angst because I could deffo see both POV's when things got complicated.

A couple of bonuses for me in this read was, one: we got Perrie's POV of the reunion (no spoilers, read Sin first if you're a purist) and two: Lola & Zac were just precious scene stealers! Each time they opened their unfiltered little mouths, I couldn't help but smile, even when their honestly broke my heart.

Loved book two in the Vegas nights series, a completely entertaining read.

The second book in the Vegas Nights series sees Perrie Fox getting her chance at a HEA. her story runs concurrently to her brothers story in ____. Perrie is a Mom, doing the best that she can for her very precocious and cute daughter. Her luck runs out one night when she solicits the wrong man - Detective Adrian Potter. Adrian Potter is the head of task force that is working on ridding the city of prostitution. He didn't expect the hot bombshell to burst into tears in the back of his car. He didn't expect to feel an instant attraction to her either. He lets her go and then comes up with the bright plan to offer her a job as an informant. Perrie resists. She doesn't want to rat out others, as many of them are in difficult situations or circumstances that have landed them there. Perrie and Adrian obviously clash. Different worlds. Different ideas. But they're undoubtably attracted to one another, and despite the job and two entertaining kids, they find themselves succumbing to it.

An enjoyable read and hopefully the next one is about Detective Sam...

[2.5 stars] book was quite ok in general but found some spelling mistakes which i feel should be easily avoided

chapter three
perrie fox.
blonde hair.
blrown eyes.

like what color is "blrown"? is the author trying to type blue or brown?

chapter seventeen
my mother had me in self-defense glasses for a year with refreshers every six months
what the hell is self-defense "glasses"? obviously its should be "classes". editor is not doing his/her job properly if this kind of typo is not corrected

Editing!!!

Seriously, the majority of the books I've read lately have had crap editing. It really frustrates me, especially because we are paying higher prices for poor quality.
On to our characters, Adrian was a huge jerk for the first half of the book. And, with his ex, I don't believe for a second that he could look past Perrie being a prostitute. Not to mention he's a cop, and everyone he works with knows what she was.
Perrie, I didn't dislike her, I just felt like she was bullshitting herself about hooking being her only option.
Bottom line, I just didn't feel the connection between them.
I didn't get the same kick out of the kids as everyone else seemed to. Lola was a tad to diva for my taste.

Welcome to Sin City. The city that Never sleeps. The city where people can win and lose just as big.The city where alcohol flows and debauchery reigns. The city that pits cop against prostitute in its ‘seedy underbelly,’ both doing their jobs for a variety of reasons and finding ways to provide for their family, even if the risks are high and the clientele reprehensible.

A Hooker. A Prostitute. A Whore. A Fox.

One of these terms is definitely not synonymous with the others, but for Perrie Fox, they all define her current circumstances and the one that carries the most weight has nothing to do with her last name because a whore is a whore regardless of how much make-up she puts on…how stylish her clothes are…how much she washes and scrubs the filth and judgment off her body. And when it comes to how Perrie sees herself and the situation that she was forced to live due to her family’s  refusal to help her when she needed them the most.

A cop and a prostitute joining forces sounds like the start of a bad joke, but in Lust, it’s Perrie and Adrian’s reality, and even though Perrie has no other choice than to work with Adrian, it’s also a way for her to get out of a profession that she never should have had to be a part of in the first place.

It’s always the off-limits and untouchable women who the heroes seem to gravitate towards, and Detective Adrian Potter finds himself in that exact situation when he allows Perrie to remain free and allows her and her daughter into his life more than he probably should allow, crossing lines that shouldn’t be crossed but not being able to stop it from happening because as much as Perrie believes Adrian doesn’t understand her…doesn’t truly see who she is beneath a profession he despises, he does know that she’s not meant to be someone’s whore…she’s not meant to live around squalor and darkness…she’s not meant to risk her life to put food in her daughter’s belly and a roof over her head, and Adrian will stop at nothing to figure out this blonde bombshell whose last name is synonymous with money but whose lifestyle doesn't reflect any of the luxury that comes with the Fox moniker.

Emma Hart continues to create broken and flawed yet feisty and capable heroines - ones who deal with the hand their dealt the only way they know how and while others may judge them and question why they’re in the situations they are, Hart allows her leading ladies to tell their stories honestly, offering insights that only they can shed light on because the inside is so much more than what is shown on the outside.

I adored Detective Adrian Potter. He may allow his past to dictate too much of his present, but the reasons for that are completely understandable and his reaction and subsequent actions illustrate a man intent on ensuring another child doesn't lose a parent to a profession that chews women up and spits them out, seeing them as nothing but a way to make money one of the worst possible ways.

Hart's Vegas Nights is one kickass series with likable main and secondary characters and story lines that sizzle and soothe in all the best ways!

After meeting Perrie in Sin, I was excited to see we were going to get her story, and Lust did not disappoint!

Perrie Fox has not lived an easy life. She’s the outcast of the Fox family, the “black sheep” who made the choice to keep her daughter and has been outcast from the family and to keep herself and her daughter alive, she’s now a hooker in Vegas to keep a house over their head and food on the table. One one fateful night when she makes a mistake, and is arrested by the sexy detective Adrian Potter, her life takes another turn.

Adrian and Perrie shouldn’t want each other, in fact they drive one another nuts, but having to work together makes them have to spend more time together than Perrie would like, and the more time she spends with Adrian the more he seems to get under her skin. When her daughter Lola and Adrians son Zac form a bond, there is no getting away from him. I loved these two little kinds and how much they played into this story. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I adored Adrian and Perrie, but I don’t know if they would have gotten far in their relationship if it wasn’t for Zac and Lola. The two kids are really what brought them together and kept them together. There was chemistry between Adrian and Perrie, and that was something neither of them could deny, no matter how much they wanted too, but when Zac and Lola schemed and always wanted to be together, it forced these two to be with one another outside of work and actually start to enjoy each others company.

I liked how this story played out, but at times it seemed jumpy, and some parts drug on while others went by way too fast for my liking. I would have liked to have seen these two together more after all the build up we had with them playing the cat and mouse game. There was so much buildup to these two being together, that when it finally happened and we finally got it, the book seemed to end, and I was like NOOOO and I wanted more! I wished we would have had an epilogue or more to the ending than what we had. I wanted more for these characters and I hope that Emma Hart will give us a novella or something with Perrie, Adrian, Damien and Dahlia (from Sin) as I want to see them all get their real HEA and see how their stories truly end.

I will say that this book was steamy, and full of laughs, and my heart did break for everything that Perrie had gone through, as well as Adrian and his and Zac’s back story. I felt for these characters and everything they went through to get their HEA. I did enjoy this book I was just left wanting more. Lust is definitely a book that should be added to your TBR if you’re looking for a funny and sexy read!

5 Cross the Line CROWNS

Yes! Yes! Yessss!! Lust is without a doubt my absolute favorite Emma Hart book I have ever read by her. It is sexy and romantic in a real way, and I couldn't get enough of Perrie and Adrian.

The reason I am so head over heals in love with this book is the heroine Perrie! She is fierce and strong, and her attitude is fantastic. There are so many times that she puts the men on this novel in their place or shuts them down with her words and wit, and each time made me more enamored with this heroine. Then, of course, is the way she loves her daughter. From the way she acts to the words she says, it is so clear how much she will do to see her daughter happy and healthy. If she couldn't get any better, just wait until you get a load of her with Zach. She is just an irresistible heroine.

Adrian has the sexy, protective cop thing going for him. I loved his compassion, and his dedication to justice, especially considering his past. Plus, he has the confident attribute that I find so alluring in a hero. Add to that, seeing him as a daddy, and there went any chance of not falling hard for this hero.

Lola and Zach are too precious, and it will warm readers hearts not only to see them together but also with Adrian and Perrie. It makes readers, really root for this couple as well as makes them see a different side to both of these characters.

That opening line!! I swear to God! I have never laughed so hard and been instantly drawn to a character based on her commentary. Emma Hart then continues to keep readers enthralled with this couple through their work together, their private moments, and their insane chemistry. I could not get enough or this couple. I lived for the moments when they came back together, and Emma Hart did it in a way that is perfect for this sexy couple and their adorable children.

Perfect!! Just Perfect. I got sexy. I got romance. I got adorable family moments with kids. I got a phenomenal heroine and sexy hero. I mean, how could I have asked for anything more from Lust!

NO SPOILERS!

Emma Hart has completely won me over and I am officially addicted to her books! LUST was only my second novel by Ms. Hart, but it will certainly not be the last. I absolutely loved her writing style and the unique and intriguing storyline and characters she created. I loved this book so much and it was even better than SIN, the first standalone in the Vegas Nights series. I would highly recommend reading SIN before LUST. It's not necessary, because each book is a standalone, but you'll have a better understanding of Perrie's background if you do. Plus, SIN was just as amazing as LUST.

Adrian and Perrie were amazing. I loved their personalities and chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. I was hooked to their story from beginning to end, and I loved reading every single page. I loved that it was written from both Adrian and Perrie's POV, and I immensely enjoyed their banter and interactions with each other. They didn't meet under ideal circumstances, but I really enjoyed where their friendship/relationship went from there. The storyline took a few surprising and unexpected turns, but I loved everything from start to finish. I would have loved more intimate moments between Adrian and Perrie, but I was still very satisfied with their relationship, and I was extremely pleased with the conclusion to their story.

Another aspect I loved were the secondary characters, specifically Zac and Lola. Adrian and Perrie's kids were so cute and adorable, and they completely stole my heart. Their antics and conversations were entertaining, and I couldn't help but smile and/or laugh every time they were in a scene. Zac and Lola were two of the best kids that I've read about, and they made me love this story even more. If they hadn't been a part of it, I wouldn't have loved LUST as much as I did. On a side note, I loved that a few characters from SIN made an appearance in this book. It brought both stories full circle and I loved it.

LUST was another sexy, addicting, and swoon-worthy romance in the Vegas Nights series, and I immensely loved Adrian and Perrie's story. Emma Hart did an excellent job writing this book, and I can't wait to read more of her amazing novels. She is definitely a new favorite author for me, and if you haven't checked out her books yet, especially the Vegas Nights series, I highly urge you to do so ASAP!

Alright Emma Hart way to blow my mind. Like seriously, I think I am still fanning myself! Lust is the second book in the Vegas Nights series, however it can be read as a standalone. Sin is the first book, which I loved, and you can read my review here. I have been slowly waiting for Lust since I read the snippet in the back of Sin. Now I really loved Sin and I thought it was going to be hard to top but nope Lust was by far my favorite of the two! I think the whole book I went between butterflies and combusting. I LOVED Adrian and Perrie’s story. I already knew I was going to enjoy it based on the blurb but it really just blew me away.

Adrian and Perrie were absolute FIRE. Like set me on fire and call me a cop…no, not a firefighter, I’m going to need a cop to put this one out!! 😉 There was so much genuine chemistry in this book. Not only that but I loved the way these two interacted together. Adrian is oh so smooth with all his damn panty dropping sexy lines…and Perrie is bound and determined to stay away. Hart gives us two MCs that are so strong and easy to love. Both have had a hard journey and are doing what they can to support themselves. I really enjoyed the face that they were both such real characters. I felt truly connected to both of them.

On that note, my second favorite part of this book was their kids! There were a couple parts that had interactions with their kids that had me laughing out loud. I got a lot of weird looks from my hubby while I was reading this one! Haha. But seriously Lola and Zac were my favorite! Again Hart gave us another two very real characters. They were sweet and such a team.

Emma Hart has stolen my heart with this one. There wasn’t one thing I didn’t absolutely love about this book. From characters, to writing, to the storyline, everything was a perfect read for me. And I will fight you for Adrian Potter…who has won the title of my new book boyfriend.
