An incredibly generic Green Lantern story. That isn’t unforgivable, but it’s accompanied by some truly cringeworthy characterizations, attitudes toward women, and male power fantasies that plagued comics during the time the original comic was written. I don’t even feel like listing them because I started to and the list was so long it wasn’t actually worth the effort.

Kyle Rayner as a character just never works for me. He’s always a dick and for some reason all the writers lean into it instead of trying to make him more likeable. Is he what the target audience wants to be?

Bad stories plus problematic themes equals a complete waste of time. The production on the audiobook is good, as it is with most of these Graphic Audio books, but there’s better DC books from them that aren’t so terrible. Pick something else.

A first book in a green lantern trilogy. This is a GraphicAudio audio book. It uses full cast dramatization, kind of like old radio programs. The story is very well written, with three different Green Lanterns and lots of tie-ins to chronology. For those that are very into their DC Comics this is pre-2011 DC Comics tie-ins. Supposedly, after something called "Infinite Crisis" things changed drastically. This book is from before that.
