Go home. Sweetest frickin’ words a Navy SEAL can ever hear.
Not this time.
Tragedy set my world on fire.
They say home is where the heart is. And my heart still belongs to Emma Flannigan.
But, she’s not the same. She’s had it rough as well, and now she even has a kid.
She fights our desires at first, and I know she's off limits — but it's useless.
I’m a trained killer and no fight will keep me from having her.
Covert missions are what I do.
And Operation Emma is about to go down.

Line Of Fire is a standalone Navy SEAL second chance romance with no cheating, no cliffhanger and a guaranteed HEA! I’ve also included a bonus book for your reading pleasure and a sneak peek of my upcoming book, Mick – a Military MC Romance!
Enjoy!
Intended for readers 18+ due to Kindle-melting scenes and other mature content. You'll need a cold shower after reading this one!

When Navy SEAL Dylan gets the news right after a mission goes bad that his brother has died - processing this is almost too much to handle, then finding out from his father on his plane ride home and CIA contact he was murdered brings a whole new level of tension and questions swirling around in his mind.
Returning home is not easy, for more than just the death of his brother, the only women he ever loved - but broke her heart and left behind is still lives here. She married Tommy, his good friend who was gunned down right along with his brother Jimmy- seeing her has brought back feelings and memories for them both. Trying to work out why his brother and Tommy were killed, he and Emma quickly become close. How can he start anything with her when he leaves in a few weeks to go back to the desert?
What a hot sweet, detailed second chance romance with a dark little twist! I am all about Military suspense type romance, as well as second chances- putting those two together with a protective alpha male with a slightly frustrating side, and stubborn, takes no crap mom with guts you have a book I found entertaining and read in one sitting.

KB Winters knows how to write a great SEAL story! Dylan left home 8 years ago to serve his country. But when he left home, he left behind his first and true love, Emma, his parents, his brother Jimmy, and his friend Tommy. He had to get out of his small hometown, Brighton. He didn't want the same, depressed life everyone in Brighton had, and he didn't want to drag Emma all over the world while he was deployed on missions for the SEALs. So he left them all behind. 8 years later, he comes home, but not to visit, to come home to mourn his brother, who was murdered along with his childhood friend Tommy.

Suddenly, all the love he's always felt for Emma is rushing back when he sees her again. But, he can't have her, she's mourning Tommy, whom she married after Dylan left her behind all those years ago. Dylan doesn't know, though, that Emma and Tommy's marriage wasn't a happy one, and that Emma has never gotten over Dylan. When the two reunite, their chemistry is stronger than ever, and soon, they're steaming up the sheets again. But, Dylan isn't home to stay. And while he is home, he's determined to find out who murdered Jimmy and Tommy, and take them out. So whatever is going on between Emma and Dylan has yet another expiration date, and Emma knows better than to put her heart on the line hoping Dylan will stay with her and help her raise her son.

Line of Fire is steamy, well written with fast paced action and a sweet second chance love. Kudos to KB for another great SEAL story!

I am a huge fan of KB Winters and this book makes me realize why that is. Line of Fire is spectacular. You have mystery, suspense, lies, family, respect, trust and love all wrapped up in one book. Dylan is a Navy Seal who has just finished a mission when he is told that his brother was killed back home with 3 other men. He gets orders to leave and go home. He left almost 8 years ago, leaving Emma behind even though it was the hardest decision he ever made. Emma's husband is one of the others who was murdered. Even though their marriage had been over awhile ago, she has a 6 years old son who she needs to be there for. When Dylan and Emma see each other again, the love they have for each other as well as the sparks that shine when they are together explode. They become close as Dylan tries to find out what happened to his brother and why he was murdered in his own bar. It goes deeper than just some random shooting. Can Dylan get to the bottom of what happened and still keep his family safe? Can Dylan and Emma rekindle the love they had all those years ago? How will Tommy Jr react if they try to have a relastionship together? I can tell you that there are so many reason to read this book and since I'm not that reviewer who is going to spoil it for you, you must pick the book up. I read it in 2 sittings it's that good. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book. A definite purchase.

This is a story that has romance, second chances and mystery.
When Dylan, a Navy SEAL, get the call that his brother has been killed back home he immediately begins the process of returning to help his parents. As Dylan comes to grips with his brother, and three others who were also murdered, death he must also deal with his ex - Emma, the girl he left behind who married his best friend and was also killed.
This is a second chance story as Dylan and Emma realize that the feelings they had for each other have not diminished over the years. Emma must also deal with her feelings concerning her husband's death and why she married him in the first place.
As Dylan tries to piece together what happened to his brother he begins to see that whatever his brother was doing was not all legit. The Irish mafia is involved.
Keeping the details of what his brother did form his parents, trying to protect Emma and getting to the bottom of what Jimmy and Tommy were involved in has Dylan using all his skills to find the people and get justice.
This story will pull you in and you'll want to know what they ere up to, at the same time rooting for Dylan and Emma to get together again and work out the hurt of years ago.

What a great story about second chances with your first love and the one you never stopped loving. Dylan and Emma were high school sweethearts and when Dylan decided he wanted to enlist, he left Emma behind. After 8 years and being a SEAL he comes home when his brother is murdered along with Emma's husband. Her marriage was not a happy one and she put up a front for her son but when Dylan comes back to town the feelings they both had for each other are as strong as ever. As Dylan investigates what happened he and Emma grow closer again and the truth comes out about what was going on between her husband and her and what his brother was into. When his leave is up he has to decide what he wants....will it be Emma or will he enlist again.
A great story with steamy scenes, a love that never died but also heartache and heartbreak. K.B. Winters wrote a story that I couldn't help but feel the turmoil both Emma and especially Dylan were going through and the epilogue had me in tears while I was holding my breath to see how it all turned out..... I wasn't disappointed.

K.B. Winters wows readers again!

This book starts off with bang and continues on in the same vein until the very end. As always in her books Winters grabs the readers attention and does not let go until the last page. The story of Dylan and Emma is a rollercoaster ride full of action, suspense, family, betrayal, and a second chance at love for the main characters. When Dylan's brother Jimmy is murdered along with 3 others in the bar he owns Dylan's is on the first plane out of Afghanistan to Brighton to help his mom and dad deal with the aftermath. No one knows why Jimmy was targeted or who ordered the hit. The homecoming is made bittersweet because Dylan comes face to face with Emma the girl he left behind. Character development is well done including the secondary characters who are mostly the family members of all the men killed. As Dylan and Emma try to solve the mystery of her husband's death their past and chemistry takes over as they come closer to their HEA ending. As always with K.B Winters her grasp of the alpha men she writes about makes the story so much more interesting.

OMG this is by far the BEST book that I have read in a while. There is so much going on but you will definitely be able to follow along. You have murder, suspense, danger, deceit, gambling, sex, anger, grief, happiness and second chance romance. I couldn't put the book down it is amazing.
Dylan is a Navy Seal who left his hometown 8 years ago and never looked back. When he returns home because his brother and a childhood friend has been murdered he has to face the only woman he has ever loved, Emma.
Emma's husband was murdered but she doesn't exactly know how to feel. He was mentally abusive to her and she hasn't been in love with him but she loves him for the fact that he is the father to their child. They only man she has ever really loved broke her heart when he left 8 years ago and never looked back, Dylan.
Can Dylan and Emma rekindle what they once had? Will they survive when they find out the truth of what happened during the murders? Will Dylan give up his life as a Seal and stay in town to help his family?

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.

Since this was my first K.B. Winters book, I didn't know what to expect and I went into the book blind - boy was I pleasantly surprised! I couldn't put the book down once I started; it opens with a such a powerful action sequence and it doesn't really stop for a breather until the very end. The story was well paced and the suspense kept me guessing (which is very difficult to do because I can spot a plot twist from a mile a way). Dylan was such a good male lead -powerful, driven, loving, and gorgeous. I immediately felt for Emma (the female lead) - a young (now single) mother, who lost the love of her life, who has been dealing with the emotional aftermath of rash decisions made in her youth. Line of Fire had action, suspense, mystery, heart, and heat. I LOVED that I was not able to figure out the mystery OR how Dylan and Emma were going to attain their HEA. The book gets 4 out of 5 wine glasses from me easily and I can't wait to read more from K.B. Winters!

On the surface, this could look like just another second chance love story, but it’s so much more than that. Dylan is called back home under the worst of tragic circumstances, but it is those very circumstances that pave the way for his second chance with Emma. This book is filled with just about every emotion you could imagine, as Dylan and Emma not only have to deal with the consequences of their choices made years before, but they also have to think of their families, the mystery surrounding the events that called Dylan home, and the decisions that they still must face in the future. There are no easy answers here, but they’re determined to make it work. I loved the full cast of supporting family members, and I really liked the way the author let us see the not-so-pretty side of both Dylan and Emma. These characters are true to life, and their story was wonderful to read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Wow. I got a bit of a surprise with this book. It was not at all as I expected. IT WAS MUCH BETTER!
It has a lot of action: mob, murder, prostitution, military, gambling, steamy hot scenes, problems to be solved. But it has also got romance, sexy scenes, erotic moments, smiles and chemistry. It has it all!
The force that Dylan has is incredible. He takes and fights for what he wants! The chemistry between Dylan and Emma is amazing. It is so well described that you almost can feel it.
I just love the way KB Winters mixes the elements in this book. The mystery being mixed with sexual attraction and steamy hot lovescenes.
The story is a great story but it kills me that I do not know during the story, what Dylan will do :) - What he wants to do apart from his military job.
But that also makes the mystery and you have to read on and find out what happens.
KB Winters has done it again. I love her way of writing!

I enjoyed this story. It's got intrigue and second chance romance. Dylan's brother is gunned down in his bar while Dylan is over seas. He gets the call and immediately heads home. He is determined to figure out what happened to his brother and get justice. Once he gets there, things quickly become mixed up and confusing as he starts to learn about what his brother had gotten himself into. Emma's husband was killed along with Dylan's brother. Emma and Dylan were together and in love before he took off to join the Navy. Those feelings never really went away for the two of them. This was an interesting and entertaining read as you wanted to find out exactly what was going on and what was going to come out next. The sex was explicit and well done. There was action and little bit of suspense as we tried to figure out who the killers were with Dylan. Overall, I enjoyed the story.

In Line of Fire KB Winters delivers a suspenseful, action-packed, and second chance romance that will keep you hooked until the last page. Dylan Malloy left home eight years ago to become a Navy Seal. When he gets the news that his younger brother was killed Dylan heads back home. Dylan learns that Jimmy was shot in his bar along with several other men amongst them Tommy Gallagher, a childhood friend. Tommy's widow, Emma, is the only woman Dylan has ever loved. When Dylan and Emma see each other again sparks fly. While investigating his brother's death Dylan and Emma get closer. Though they try to fight it their feelings for each other continue to grow. Dylan was a Seal in Afghanistan and had just returned from a mission when he was called to his CO's office. The news from home was that his younger brother was murdered in his bar. Dylan is immediately flown home and he investigates his brother's murder and the murder of three other men at the bar. One of the murdered men was the husband of Emma who was Dylan's high school sweetheart. Dylan was excited to see Emma again and maybe get a second chance.
Emma was heart broken when Dylan went into the military but she married a friend of his. Their marriage wasn't the best since he cheated on her and kept secrets. He did give her her much loved son. She is shocked when her husband is murdered and when Dylan comes home. She wants to help Dylan find out who killed the men but they discover some dark secrets.
This is a good story with some twists and turns. I voluntarily received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

This wasn't what I was expecting at all. From the description it sounded like Dylan knew he wanted Emma and was going to do whatever it took to get her back. Instead he was indecisive until the very last page. We never got to see them fall in love because it happened when they were teenagers. We were just told they loved each other and that was it. I never felt that Dylan loved Emma. She always just seemed like an afterthought.

There were some grammar mistakes and use of the wrong name.
We never got to see what Emma decided to do. I was hoping when Dylan came back after two months we would be able to see her in love with a new profession. Or at least her and her son in a better place emotionally.
There was no suspense as to who the killers were and there wasn't any shock when it was revealed. It was just expected. This had a lot of potential but it needed a few more details to round out the story.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review. I enjoyed this book. Wow, this book was loaded with all sorts of stuff going on in it, from murder/mystery, an Irish bar with an Irish wake, prostitution, drugs, human trafficking, Irish mafia, CIA, a SEAL bent on getting answers, revenge & the girl, a red headed woman, & a second chance relationship... LOL & somehow it all works without feeling bizarre. The beginning was a bit slow, but it was necessary for the world building & background details to fit the story together for the readers. But it did pick up speed at a certain point. The characters, Dylan & Emma, are likable enough to want to keep reading to find out what happens next. The ending was a bit abrupt, though it has a HEA. I guess I was expecting a ring & all the bells & whistles. Great creative writing!

Dylan is doing his thing for the country when after an operation he gets the news his younger brother is death. On the way home he finds out his brother is murdered.

Back home he is to deal with his grieving parents, but also with his ex Emma. Her husband was also killed along with his brother. Dylan wants to find out what happened and why they are killed. With his skills he gets closer and closer to the truth.
But he also gets closer and closer to Emma, bringing back the sparks from years ago before he left.

The question is when he solved who murdered his brother, will he go away again or will he stay with Emma this time.

Great story full of action, suspense, romance, second changes and more

Dylan is overseas on a mission when he gets a call that destroys his family. When he gets home, his relationship with Emma takes on a explosive nature, but it's too soon to her husbands death and his brothers death. He just wants answers as to what and why it happened. While trying to deal with the funerals, they have to fight their feelings for each other and their past. One thing doesn't change though, their passion and love for each other. When the truth finally comes out and they can't hide their feelings anymore, he packs up and leave again. He soon finds that only true love can help and heal. I absolutely loved this book, the twists and turns, and the passion between Emma and Dylan. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Bleh

My subject line about sums it up. I don’t even know where to start. I understand about still being in love with the one you left behind premise; that part of the story went without saying. Also, I understood the premise that you think you know someone close to you, but you don’t always see the underlying details. However, the rest of the story was so far fetched and beyond believable. Throw in the constant back and forth between the two main characters, I came through the end of the story feeling bleh. I love military romances and this one did nothing for me; not even a little bit. Don’t let all the high review marks leave you fooled about this book; don’t want you feeling like you wasted your time.

This book has it all. Navy Seal, second chance romance, Irish mob, murder, mystery, action, gallantry, grief, love, hot bedroom encounters you name it and I bet it can be found within the covers of this book. Sounds messy doesn't it but KB Winters writes such a wonderful story that you will be turning pages to find out what happens next.
You will cry with them, laugh with them, fall in love with all the characters and get so so angry and confused.
A book worth the space in your library and recommended for those who love a good romance.

Can you really go back home again? Dylan loves his job as Navy Seal. He got what he wanted...to be out of his neighborhood and out of the family business. But when tragedy strikes, can he go back and make this right? Emma is the one who got away. Yes maybe it was his fault, but still she moved on. Will these two have a chance? There is pain, sadness and tragedy to get through. There are mysteries to solve...Will Dylan be willing to give up his military life in order to have the future Emma once saw?
This was better than expected and was the perfect mix of military, mafia and second chance.

KB Winters has done it again. I d not like mafia type stories but she weaved the mafia into this story in such a way that I didn't think I was reading a mafia style book. She did it so well with a story line that kept you changing your speed on a motor boat from slow (hatred) to super sonic hot (romantic). The characters fit together well from arguing to kissing and romance. They get their second chance at love and jump for it claiming the golden ring at the end of the with their HEA. First of all, Ms. Winters is one of my favorite authors! This book, like all others I've read by her, did not disappoint. I was hooked from the very beginning. Many times I wanted to cry, which I don't do often so that says a lot for me. Such a great read about two people coming together after 8 years apart during a time of great tragedy and horror. The only thing that I would have like is more to the ending. I just felt a little like 'that's it?' but besides that I felt this was an amazing book!

Dylan is an active SEAL on tour when he receives a call from home that will change his life. His brother has been murdered and it's time to be there for his family. Emma his teen sweetheart had moved on and married their friend, only he died too. Dylan is determined to get to the bottom of this mystery. Why was his brother murdered? Can Dylan and Emma rekindle their love or is it too early to move on?
I was glued to my kindle as the story unfolded. It was fast paced and action packed.

I received an arc of this book for a honest review.

Fire and heart. All on the line.

Love a KB Winters book and a Navy Seal makes it just a little bit more...exciting. Dylan and Emma had history. They should've been an amazing couple but Dylan f%&$ed up he chose to enlist. Emma hurt, reeling married their best friend. Dylan is back to find answers and bury his brother and Emma's husband. The events unfurl revealing truths, and dark dealings and answers that shocks them all. Loved the suspense and the intense passion between two people who spent too many years denying instead of living. Awesome read.

This book is a perfect addition to many other amazing books this author had written about SEALs and the women they love. There are many intriguing characters in this book and all of them nicely developed for the story. Both protagonists were portrayed deeply and masterfully, clearly showing their flaws and struggles, their strength and passions. And I absolutely loved the storyline! This is yet another must-read from this amazing author.

Dang! This book is so amazing on so many levels...it's hard to make sense of it all. The storyline is painfully real; the main and secondary characters are multi faceted; and the HEA? That journey is fraught with too many obstacles! This is an amazing read...you'll be overwhelmed in places--keep tissues handy.
