I enjoyed this book, it’s gave you a look into the 5 main characters but not really too much of their stories. I can’t wait to read each individual story. Sounds exciting.
This interesting short sequel set the stage for a new series. It introduced five individuals and a possible love interest. It was well-written and peaked my interest.
This is a prequel to a forthcoming series about each of the women introduced here. They each return or come to the small town of Chance with prior events in their lives causing them to look for a second chance at life. I look forward to what each will find.
I don't usually read books set in the United States (sorry friends and relatives!), so imagine my surprise when I found that the author is Canadian! This little book introduces 5 friends whose lives have taken unusual turns and have returned to their home town of Chance, California. They find that the town is dying and come up with ideas to bring it back to life. (Reminds me of Hamilton, Missouri and the great quilting shops that have rejuvenated that town). There is a series of books following The Prequel, each about one of the women. Both The Prequel and the next book, Lianne, were free on kobo.
I found the writing style very easy to read, I liked that we got a taster of our main characters - Lianne, Madison, Emma, Chloe and Jade - who will lead the series (each book will tell the story of one of the women), this book is short but felt generally well paced with only a few scenes feeling rushed and the descriptive back stories lay a good foundation to this 5 book series.
Great introduction of characters ... no two alike ... very relatable. This tale could be happening in any small town today, when childhood friends return to their roots and realize their hometown hasn't changed with the times. They easily slip into the comfort zone of familiarity, but realize their home needs help if it is to survive ... but can they handle it? Can't wait to learn more about this group of women!
A good introduction to a series about five young women and their lives. Short and easy read but I found it a little hard to keep track of each of the characters and what was happening in their lives at that point. I expect it will all fall into place as I read upcoming books. Perhaps should be read in one sitting rather than a chapter or so per night as I did.
The Prequel by Mona Ingram Story of 4 women and how they are coming from troubled times and see how trouble dthe town is. They band together with many plans to not only fix the town but themselves. We learn about each of them and how they came to be in the ranchhouse with the others. Each of the women get their own book/story. Received free on Amazon.
The the girlfriends are all interesting and have traumatic back stories. To bad we're going to have to wait. Write fast Please!Iimagine how they are going to revitalize the town and the people who will join them
This novella gets you acquainted with the five women who will be the characters in the books to follow. Very interesting story line of saving a small town from extension.
Not written badly, just a lot of information missing on the characters to get tied to them. Also a very abrupt end. If all her books are like that, no thanks, I 'll pass . I will try one more book to see how it is.
Love second chance stories. In life its not so much what happens, but rather how you react to it. Good introduction to the series. Have. Luanne and will have to purchase the rest if clean and sweet.
Wonderful little story introducing five women and a small town in need of second chances. There are also cameos of a few men with the same need. As the title says, it appears to be a prequel of things to come.
This is a great story about second chances both for the town and four friends and a new girl to the group. The characters are well written and I am looking forward to finding out what happens.
The Prequel is a good introduction to the power of four women who prove the innovation and creativity of women. They are high school friends who come together to save their hometown. A very unique coming together of minds. Highly recommended!
A well written short story: that introduces you to five women. Four of them came back to their small town for a second chance in life and met a new friend. There are also a few men with the same needs for a restart. Good lead for the upcoming books.
Five woman getting together with one purpose to revitalize a town, with new businesses, new residents. While they heal from the heartache in their lives. Good beginning, and each book will be of one of them.
I look forward to the remaining five books in the series. The five ladies, Lianne, Madison, Chloe, Emma and Jade have made a pact to bring their small town back to life. They are all damaged but their spirits are not broken. In Ingram's hands, this theme will be treated with respect.
