Jake Anderson, a detective, is a lone wolf and he doesn’t want it any other way. When he moves to Kellogg, Idaho, he’s greeted by the powerful pack that runs the small town. Worse yet, the pack’s alpha is his new boss – the handsome and rugged Captain Holden Walker.
While Jake doesn’t want a mate, he can’t deny his overwhelming attraction to the alpha – or the needs of the rest of Holden’s pack. But giving up his body to Holden and his life to a pack isn’t what he has in mind.
Each pack member, from the angry beta to the lowly omega, are in search of mates – and Jake’s entrance into the town changes everything. They have to deal with a pair of Eurasian wolf brothers, a wounded werecat and a new wolf who puts the beta’s position in the pack at risk.
Jake knows the truth -- wolves mate for life. But will he aid the Silver Mountain wolf pack or let his only chance for happiness slip away?
Warning: Contains graphic m/m sex scenes.

Zoe Perdita writes (mostly) gay shifter romance because the only thing better than one hot shifter dude is two hot shifter dudes making out. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with a fluffy orange cat and a lively roommate. When she's not writing, Zoe likes to travel, read and play video games.

I don't care for the way the author defines omega's. Other books I have read alway define the omega as the calming factor in the pack. The one who keeps the peace and balance. If a pack is so tight like a family why treat one of your own like someone you wouldn't piss on if they were on fire !?! I don't get it and I don't care for it.
On another note, I don't care for the rape-like claiming that these 'mates' are so fond of. No means no, even if their body has a reaction. These men were so confused with their emotions and their mates didn't give a shit. If your mates can't give you time to figure out what's happening then they are not much of a mate ...
I can barely give this two stars but I did because I liked one of the stories. The book is a compilation of 4 separate stories of a 4 wolf pack finding their mates. I have an issue with shapeshifter stories were the shifters fight their mating so incredibly hard. I can understand some strife but these stories had too much. All of them except for Danny, the Omega's story. I did like his story. Two involved public claiming and the last one, they two wolves fought for dominance EVERY time they had sex. It was annoying and frustrating. I most of the sex scenes on all stories.
I rather liked this audio book. I think the male voice was a good match for the narration. Although, I did giggle a tiny bit when he does the voice for the feline character from India. It consists of several short stories about wolf mated pairs and one mated threesome. There is a lot of smexy times, which is always a good thing in my book. I have a thing for shifters, and werewolves in particular. If you do too, you might enjoy this. As a matter of fact, I'm re-listening to parts of it again.
The first two and the last were 2 stars for me. The 3rd, with the cat shifter and more of an actual plot/story, was 4 stars. The editing was bad enough that I was thrown out of each story multiple times, and I am not a grammar Nazi. I think each probably had potential but it just never gelled for me I love shifter books as a rule, and thus I'm typically easier to please. I wouldn't go as far as to say I disliked it as a whole, but it was a close thing.
A tad too non-con-y for me at times, and not in a fun way, mostly (I think) because the stories are short and we get very little of the chemistry between the characters, so it's hard to believe that "they really want it", which is the key to a successful dub-con for me. I think the set up worked best in the last story, exactly because we got the most character interaction there.
Really excellent shifter book with multiple stories for each shifter character with some interesting steamy scenes and power struggles involved. Fell in love with each shifter and their story. Perfect book for shifter M/M fans!! :-)
I'm being generous. This could be really good with a total re-write and some heavy duty editing! Oh, and some truly honest beta readers as well! 4 stories with no one story standing out for me. I'd like my money back please : (
I enjoyed this one. Offers a complexity of relationship dynamics in Insta-Love Shifter Mating category. I liked it as Timothy grew into his own with his own mates - one of the rare M/M/M stories that I enjoyed - I usually don't appreciate them.
A collection of related novellas set in the same town with recurrent characters. These stories are all m/m or m/m/m erotica featuring wolf and other kinds of shifters. Minimal plot and stock characters connect the sex scenes. There really isn't much else to say: it is just a lot of gay sex scenes with some filler to connect them.
The sex varies from tender and sweet to violent animalistic domination/submission battles. While the latter is not called "rape", supposedly it has to do with claiming fated mates and other shifter law, it is point-blank stated these acts are forcible and non-consensual. That is rape no matter what the author calls it. As such, it will be a trigger for some readers. Personally, I felt Zoe Perdita was irresponsible and unethical in suggesting that people can fall in love with their rapists or enjoy getting raped.
Over all, it is far below average for shifter-themed erotica. I cannot recommend it to anyone.
I almost gave this book a rating of 1 star, just because it really was just too much. This is not a book with a viable plot that engages the reader, rather this is a book that has an over-abundance of sex. Now, I have nothing against good love scenes and sex scenes in general...I'm a dude...of course I enjoy that, but at least have some substance that makes sense. Four stories and none of them ranked above a 1.5 or a 2. I literally forced myself to complete this book and as I write this review I realize that this is seven and a half hours of my life I will not get back. If you like sex with very little plausible story line in the shifter genre, then you will enjoy this. I just thought it was too much...
DNF after Jake's story. I wasn't really convinced about the "omega" - "alpha" situation at first, then the Alpha being okay with him fucking the others... wtf, and the last drop was how Timothy THOUGHT it was LOW to be called an OMEGA. Seriously? I mean, there's been books in which Alphas and Betas die to protect Omegas, the Omegas tend to be the ones that help the core family... I just didn't like it :|
Although most of the matings were dub con, the sex was varied and hot. There’s not much plot to the stories, it’s mostly sex and struggling to accept a mate. The narrator had a good voice though and I enjoyed it for what it was.
OK, so there were some good things about these stories. The characters are complex and the sex is damn hot. And, as another reviewer said, the grammar errors repeatedly pulled me out of the story. It's an interesting world, but the editing SUCKED! There are both sentence fragments and run-on sentences, repeated use of "into" instead of "in to," and word obviously left over from where the sentence was changed ("...he didn't mean to run to the lake small mountain lake."). I'm even more horrified to learn that the author is a former English teacher.
I loved this book! Of course, I was a huge fan of a Captain Holden to begin with. But then I met Gunner and damn! The audiobook is amazing and I highly recommend it.
