Matthew Fisher loved being a dancer, but his ten-year ballet career came to an abrupt end with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. He had to find a new job, and luckily, his sister was friends with Annabelle Ramsay-Aiken, only daughter of property magnate Sir James Aiken. She arranged an interview, he was accepted, and six months on the job training saw Matthew stepping out as a real estate agent for Aiken Luxury Lettings. Now, instead of stretching at the barre, Matthew spends his days inspecting the vacant London homes of their rich and famous clients.
Losing his dance career had left a huge hole in Matthew’s heart, and to fill it Matthew began a Tumblr blog dedicated to his fetish for wearing lingerie. He wanted to give his followers the impression he lived a charmed life, so decided to use A.L.L properties as locations for erotic photo shoots.
One of his online followers pressed all of Matthew's buttons, and a long distance, online Dom/sub relationship develops between them. But when the relationship suddenly moves from online fantasy to real life... can Matthew really submit?

To say that I was a bit afraid to listen this audiobook would be an understatement but not because of the reasons you would think. 😁 Isobel Starling is one of the handful authors that I love reading contemporary from. 💜 In my opinion, contemporary is the most difficult genre to write but she always writes most beautiful and emotional stories that I can’t help falling in love with her stories every time. 🥰 No, the reason is Gomez Pugh, the narrator. Don’t get me wrong. I adore the man and his narration .. but since he narrated the whole PsyCop series, I was a bit afraid that I might not be able to see him in another light. But boy, was I wrong! 😱 It was like a different narrator narrated this book and it was done in a superbly beautiful and sensual way. 😍 I am ecstatic! 😇 And now, let me rave about how beautiful and erotic this little morsel is! 😉
Matthew was a famous ballet dancer whose prominent career was recently ended by an unfortunate injury. Now he works as an estate agent for a very famous agency. On the surface, he has a respectable job, a very handsome face and a beautiful body, just your ordinary average joe. But our very naughty Matthew has a secret double life he’s leading on the internet under a pseudonym “Silken”. Silken is sensual, Silken is a seductive minx, Silken for his namesake loves silk and Lacey underwear and Silken is in love with his online Dom. 😌 Taking advantage of his current job, Silken is taking very elaborate and artful BDSM photos in his clients’ empty homes and one day, this act backfired him in the most unexpected and extraordinary way. Now, Silken has to decide whether he would submit only his body or also his heart to his very vivid, very real and very sexy Dom. 😉 Happiness has a way to find you in most unconventional ways. 💙
Have you ever got a shiver just from reading or listening a book? Because I just did! ☺️ Goosebumps and a shiver! Big time! DAMN! 🤩 Was that hot and was that smoking hot!!! 🔥 This is hands down the most erotic and sensual story I have ever read and surely the very top 3 BDSM novels from any sub-genre that I’ve EVER read. 👏 It really is THAT good! 😍 Isobel Starling always comes up with most unique and beautiful storylines but I believe she outdone it to herself this time. I was in heaven! That was pure bliss of utter happiness for two hours of kinky deliciousness! 🔥 I can’t get enough and I need more!!! And oh wow, Gomez Pugh really has so many cards under his sleeve because I loooooved his British accent!!! And I loved his portrayal of Silken and his loving Dom. I am a one very happy and hot and bothered listener! 😁 And you know what? BuddyListening this with Trio makes it that much better to enjoy. We were like schoolgirls who got the first taste of harlequin romances, giggling and instant messaging each other about this little morsel. 😂 I loved, loooooved this and I do demand a sequel of this from Isobel Starling because it was that good and I need more wicked deliciousness of Silken. I can’t recommend this enough. 👍 Just drop everything and go purchase this little morsel because you won’t regret it. 😉
5 Silk panties, fervor kisses and devoted love is the best concoction stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sooo, I listened to this hot little 🔥🔥number some months back and forgot to review it. It’s still stuck in my head and that says a lot considering all of the books I read and listen to. But then, Isobel Starling is amazing and Gomez Pugh does a delectable, sexy, and tension-filled narration 👏👏
I will say Isobel Starling comes up with some of the most creative story-lines I've ever read. She whips up a great connection between these two men in a very short amount of time. Age, distance, none of that matters as they establish their entire relationship through various forms of social media. Mustn't expound on that here since it would spoil the story for y'all, so you'll just have to read it for yourselves.
Or you could listen to it, as I did with my ultra bestie audiobook buddy-listening partner in crime Shin Mon. We both agree on two things. First, Gomez Pugh brings something truly delicious to this one; and second, a sequel is 100% necessary!
They never met but had a Dom/s relationship and it worked... Silken former ballet dancer injured his knee and will never dance as before so he gives his life a turn. He works as a inspector of empty mansions and apartments from wealthy people who are gone for a time being. And....he also is been prepared to be a full sub and anticipation to meet his Dom is killing him. But he is a good sub and follows every instruction. Austin comes from a corner which is just delightful, I really loved it. I'm not gonna tell because that gives away a significant part of the story. Ahhh to have such a Dom is a dream come true.
Oh my gosh this was a hyper intense erotic read. It's highly seductive. Lace and silk stockings on elegant hard body and beautiful diamond butt plugs. Powerful demanding eyes and thick lashes. Physically muscular strong and lean and graceful bodies. I could go on because this read is full of it. The eroticism dripped everywhere. It crackled of sensual electricity. But damn it made me cry and I never wanted it to end. This is what i call 'intense and sensual'
Highly recommend to the ones who love some delicious voyerism, cross dressing but also delicate sensual read. Which is written in a strong and heartwarming way. I loved it!!
A complimentary copy of the audio book was provided in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first Isobel Starling, but it will NOT be my last. This was a very HOT story and the writing was superb. Despite the fact that it's on the shorter side, I felt I knew these men very well. Matthew loves dancing, but when an injury sidelines him (and he can't afford the surgery for repair), Matthew makes the sensible decision to stop dancing. He has seen what happens to dancers who ignore injuries, and he's not about to be like them.
When Matthew starts his online "Silken" persona, he meets his Dom, Austin, and they have a relationship online - the benefits of a modern relationship. :-D Austin is mysterious and lives in the US, while Mathew lives in Europe (somewhere). Mathew will receive a message from "Austin" on what to do (and if he can come) and Mathew finds a location (in one of the properties he manages), and records his sexual act. Whoa, let me tell you, that was sooooo good. I loved what Isabel did with this first scene, and I am going to be revealing my innocence here because I didn't realize that dildos could have a suction cup. Ahahahaha!!! Add in Mathew borrowing some lingerie from the owners dresser and setting up the camera, I was unable to turn off the audio.
I don't want to reveal too much about what happens next so I will just say that they do meet in person, and OMG it was wonderful. The ending is kind of abrupt, and I was surprised it ended the way it did (almost in the middle of a conversation), but I got what I needed out of it and I hope there will be a sequel.
I've never listed to an audio book narrated by Gomez Pugh. His style (at least for this book), was to talk slow. It wasn't too slow (I've had books where I thought I was going to go gray it was so slow), just slower than other narrations I've listened to. I enjoyed the narration as a whole, but had hoped there would be a little more umph in the sensual department. I will listen to this narrator again, so I can say with all honesty I do recommend that audio book, and especially the book itself.
Silken is a book I have been sitting on for far too long. In fact, if I did not enjoy it, I would suggest that I need to be punished. Instead, all I can do is beg Isobel Starling's forgiveness as I happily make amends, sharing what a delight this was to read!
Until a knee accident ended his career, Matthew Fisher was an accomplished ballet star. Now, with his career seemingly over, he has taken a job as a real estate agent, inspecting the rental homes of rich and famous clients, and ensuring everything is in order for their return. That is his day job. While in those homes, he takes advantage of the sumptuous backdrop to take lingerie photos for his Tumblr blog (Silken), along with rather more taboo photos and videos for his online Master. That is his passion.
Where the two collide is when he just happens to be assigned the rental property belonging to the Master he has never met, a man who watches every moment of Siken's performance on high-def security cameras, and decides it is time to finally meet.
There was so much to love about this, beginning with Matthew/Silken himself. Here we have a gay man with a lingerie fetish. He is not overly effeminate, and he has no desire to wear cosmetics or do his hair - for him, it is all about the look and feel of expensive lingerie, and Starling writes in such a way that we experience the thrill through him. He is an entirely likeable young man for whom we have both appreciation and sympathy, so that when the secret is revealed and his Master arrives, we so desperately want them to find their happily ever after.
As for the BDSM aspect, it was wonderfully done, intensely erotic, and yet sincere and tasteful at the same time. It is a relationship that works on both a physical and a psychological level, allowing a simple collar to be more exquisite than the finest piece of lingerie, and the passionate bite of a lip more pleasurable than consummating their passion with penetration. Even when Silken is dressed, with only the feel of silk and satin between them, we never forget that this is the story of one man surrendering to the blissful dominance of another.
Silken is that rare erotic romance that crosses boundaries of both gender and sexuality, appealing to fans of both CD and M/M fiction, without alienating either. I absolutely adored it, and look forward to reading more of Isobel's work.
If, that is, she can forgive me for being so tardy in reviewing. :)
This book is awesome. At first I was a little concerned with the online D/s relationship but as you get to know the characters it fits. On top of that you have the mental pictures your mind creates as each scene unfolds. Oh I loved it. It left me wanting more.
I sadly just could not set aside reality. From the get go I said to my husband no one would dare do this in today's world a) because of hidden security cameras... b) also because of the chances of someone seeing Silken's Tumbler account and recognizing a property. I also had a problem with the fact that we're told that Jack is American yet even his thoughts sounded British.
This was rather short. I don’t know.. it feels like nothing much happened. And then it was over 😳 but even if it was longer, I don’t know if it would have made a difference. Bottom line is, I guess it didn’t wow me..
A hot and sexy short story. Mathew is beautiful inside and out. He is also sensitive, sweet and and loving with a very sexy kink. Austin is everything Mathew wants and needs.
Austin is a sexy older man who has submerged his needs for a lifetime. Mathew is everything that Austin wants and needs. But Austin has a secret he has not shared with Mathew.
Compelling hot story that is well written. I have to read more by this author.
Gomez Pugh is slowly becoming one of my favorite male narrators but the story was just not my cup of tea.
I get why some people might be enticed by the fantasies depicted in this story but my intrusive thoughts just can't let it go, and let this be a fiction without making real life comparisons and come up with disturbing scenarios.
This was too short for me to really get invested. Some novellas can pull it off, but this one didnt. I love the idea of a former ballet dancer sub with a fetish for lingerie. But the way that they met was way too far fetched.
I enjoyed this story and finished the whole thing - even though it's *supposed* to be heavy on BDSM which isn't really my cup of tea. I liked it enough as far as the storyline went but the POV switch really started to annoy me. It was fine when it was chapter by chapter and then it started to happen mid-scene and I got frustrated with it. It felt like someone's first time writing fic, then abandoning it, then not giving a shit about it.
Needless to say, Gomez Pugh's narration was the only saving grace.
